Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn - San Jose - San José

Very close to SJC, easy to locate from the major highways. Room was clean, but rather spartan, not a great choice for just an overnight, I expect it would do well for an extended stay. However be aware the hotel van has limited hours of availability, not before 8am or after 9pm.

Staff are friendly. Older property with suite that had repaired burn holes on kitchen counter, unit smelled strongly of Indian spices, bed linen was clean and bed was comfortable. Living room and bathroom was small by modern standards. Empty office property next door, convenient to airport with shuttle, japantown and computer/electronic store. My husband and I planned a trip with our 1 year old. Her bedtime is 7:30pm, but we didn't want to have to go to sleep them, so a bedroom suite was what we were looking for. This place was perfect. We had the 2 bedroom suite. The bedrooms are separated with a living/dining room and full kitchen in the middle. My daughter stayed in one room and my husband […] and I in the other. It was perfect! The kitchen was great to cook lunch and breakfast in, and it comes fully stocked with untensils, pans, pots, plates, cups, etc. The rooms were all very clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and clean. I really loved this hotel because it was truly like a home away from home. Plus, they have a full FREE breakfast in the morning - eggs, coffee, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, french toast, ham, juice, etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Mehr

We chose a two-night stay at this hotel on the basis of just off of Hwy. 101 and nearness to our visit to Great America Theme Park. My son-in-law enjoyed an evening playing poker at the Bay 101 half block away. We also found it convenient and enjoyable to use the fitness complex center next door. I think one of the best things about this hotel is the fresh hot breakfast. Everyone in the family can find something they like. The rooms accommodate a family very nicely. We saved a lot of money by cooking dinner each night.

Upon check-in I was compelled to sign a form stating that I would not have any loud parties during my stay. No problem, sez I. Curious, then, that on that very night there was a loud, boisterous screaming group in the pool / jacuzzi until after two in the morning. Strike one. Apparently housekeeping only comes through 3 times a week, and not at all […] on the weekend. Strike two. Hotel is located in an industrial area. Other than a 24 hour gym and a casino, there's nothing of interest to a vacationer within walking distance. Strike three. After the first night, on Day 2 of our stay, neither of our key cards would work to access the room. A replacement key card was issued - it also did not work. Two more were issued, and those did work. On the plus side, the room was very clean and comfortable...with the exception of the bed. We're pretty easy keepers, but we both found the bed uncomfortable. One of the two TVs had a DVD player - thumbs up! Great kitchen, had we been there long enough to take full advantage of it. My family stayed at Staybridge Suites San Jose, We won't stay anywhere else from now on. The suite was roomy,kitchen was fully set up and the pool was heated warm enough that the kids stayed in till 10pm on a day that only reached 65 degrees. Breakfast was far above average!
