Das Hotel ist in New Carrollton (Maryland ). Die Umgebung besteht aus Supermärkten und Schnellrestaurants.Das Hotel hat einen eigenen Shuttelservice zur Metro .Die Hinfahrt nach Fahrplan ,die Rückfahrt nach ansage.Das Frühstück ist wie überall in Amerika nicht sehr reichhaltig ,aber man wird satt. So das übliche Essen.Kaffee Tee Toast MIlch Cornflex Rührei Butter Marmelade .Die Zimmer sind sauber und sehr geräumig

Hotelzimmer sing großzügig mit eingebauter Kitchenette - alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt - das Frühstückbüffet (complimentray) ist reichhaltig und sehr gut - die Hotelpersonal ist hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend - das Hotelshuttle kann für Transfers zu nahegelegenen Zielen kostenlos genutzt werden - nächstgelegene Metro-Station: Vienna (orange) kann mit Taxi erreicht werden - wenn mit Auto unterwegs, ist Lage / Pries-Leistungsverhältnis des Hotels sehr gut.

Channel Inn liegt in Washington (Capitol Hill). In der Nähe befinden sich: Arena Stage, Jefferson Memorial und Washington Monument. Nicht weit entfernt befinden sich: Kapitol und Ford's Theater.

Vom Kapitol aus lenkt die gesetzgebende Gewalt die Geschicke der Nation. Oben auf der Kuppel des Gebäudes steht die Statue of Freedom und blickt auf das Volk. Viele Mitglieder des Kongresses leben in den Backsteinbauten, die sich in der Nähe des Kapitols aneinanderreihen. Gegenüber befindet sich der Supreme Court, der Oberste Gerichtshof der USA, in dem die Gesetze interpretiert werden. Die in der Nähe gelegene restaurierte Union Station ist ein Knotenpunkt des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs. Hier befinden sich außerdem zahlreiche Restaurants für jeden Geschmack.

"Nur 15 Gehminuten von der National Mall entfernt"
Das Hotel liegt günstig in der Innenstadt und nahe der National Mall. Das Personal ist freundlich, aber nicht sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Dem Barkeeper war es sogar zuviel, uns seine Palette an möglichen Cocktails vorzustellen. Eine Getränkekarte gab es nicht. Für eine kurze Sightseeingtour in Washington kann ich das Hotel jedoch empfehlen.
"Städtetrip Washington"
Weißes Haus, Capitol, Memorials etc ist alles zu Fuß zu erreichen. Zum Pentagon kann man mit der U-Bahn fahren - nächste Station 5-10min zu Fuß vom Hotel entfernt. Zimmer ist zwar etwas älter (von der Einrichtung her) war aber sauber und in gutem Zustand. Hat gepasst!

"In den Jahren gekommenes Hotel"
Älteres, mittelmäßiges Hotel. Zwar etwas teuer für Das was es bietet, aber für Washingtoner Verhältnisse OK. Alte Einrichtung, aber große und saubere 2-Bett Zimmer. Geeignet für bis zu 4-köpfigen Familien. Relativ gut gelegen, da nur ca. 15 Minuten Gehweg entfernt von der Mall Kostenloser Parkplatz. Schließfächer an der Reception

schon etwas abgewohnt aber das Personal sehr freundlich, schnellster check-inn denn ich je hatte! Hallo,wir haben sie schon erwartet, bitte Ihre Karte,haben sie fragen? Fertig. "Gute Lage für durchschnittliches Hotel"
Das Hotel besticht durch seine Lage, nicht aber durch sein mäßiges, weil altes Ambiente oder den durchschnittlichen Service. Wir mussten leider bei der Anreise 2x das Zimmer beanstanden: 1x wg. toter (und dann nicht mal entsorgter) Kakerlake im Bad (ein gänzlicher Hotelwechsel war im Gespräch) und dann wg. Ersatzzimmer direkt neben der Tiefgarageneinfahrt. […] Das dritte Zimmer war sauber und absolut OK. Ausschlaggebendes Kriterium war die Lage: Der Rundbus zur Mall für 1$ pro Fahrt direkt vor der Tür. Zusätzliches Feature: kostenlose Tiefgarage für Hotelgäste. Leider kein Frühstück bzw. Kaffee im Zimmer, was selbst einfache Motels anbieten (es gibt stattdessen) einen teuren Roomservice). "würde wieder dort buchen"
Das Hotel ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber immer noch annehmbar. Bad und WC waren sauber und wurden täglich ordentlich gereinigt. Hotelpersonal war hilfsbereit. Den größten Plus-Punkt des Hotels bildet jedoch dessen Lage: 5 Gehminuten von der U-Bahn-Station L´Enfant Plaza entfernt, 10 Gehminuten zum Smithsonian Air and Space Museum oder […] zum Jefferson Memorial. Schön am Yachthafen gelegen - wenn man ein Zimmer auf diese Seite bekommt: Tolle Aussicht. Auf Grund der zentralen Lage keine Ruhelage (Reagan Airport, Straße) - aber wenn man die Ruhe sucht, darf man nicht Mitten in der Stadt wohnen wollen. Es war jedoch nicht so, dass man nicht Schlafen konnte. Im Hotel ein gut besuchtes Restaurant (jedoch nicht in Anspruch genommen). In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hotel der Fischmarkt (Erlebenswert) und einige Restaurants. Für Washington sehr niedriger Preis. Mehr
"Gutes Hotel, Umgebung hat Nachteile"
Das Hotel Channel Inn liegt etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums. Zu Fuss braucht man ca. 30 Min. bis zur National Mall. Eine Subway Station liegt ca. 10. Minuten entfernt. In der Nähe das Hotels gibt es aber keine Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten und das am Hotel angegliederte Restaurtant schliesst um halb zehn und ist relativ überteuert. The rooms, and services are ok, yet a bit old. However, there is nothing around the hotel. Taking the car, bus or metro is unavoidable if you want to get to a restaurant beyond the one in the house.

Very convenient location, we walked to the White House, another day to the Capitol, the grand mall was easy walking distance. The view from the room was great, we had the river view. It is far from the Dulles Airport, cost 70$ taxi each way.The metro stop was very close and so was the Safeway market. The restaurant on site wasn't very diversified, same […] food every day. not very many vegatarian choices. Tho Jennys was near by and they had very good chinese food. Fish market very close too. The Hotel is good for its location., The Waterfront is good and so is the neighborhood with walking distance Metro station. But, The Hotel is too expensive for what it is. Its charges are pretty like a 'Good-Very Good' Hotel but its just an average hotel. Its only advantage is its location.

I love being within walking distance to seafood restaurants. The location is great. The staff is warm and friendly. The lounge had live entertainment which was very good. "convenient location, free parking"
The location was pretty convenient (few blocks to the metro) and the parking garage was free. The hotel itself was a bit run down-looked like it was probably nice at one time but just tired now (wall paper lifting, grout discolored, door trim and bottoms chipped and broken). Mainly cosmetic but shabby nonetheless. Rooms didn't have coffee makers or […] mini fridges which seem pretty standard in other hotels-even lower end ones. Overall, the price was right (compared to others), the parking was free and the location was pretty good. Mehr

When we stayed at the Channel Inn in 2007 there was a Circulator Bus stop across from the entrance - you could ride to the Capital Mall and back for about $1-$2 per person. So the Inn was very convenient. Now the Circulator Bus is either temporarily or permanently discontinued. We found you could easily walk to the Mall in about 15 minutes this trip. […] At night, you may not feel as comfortable walking. The location is not close to any other restaurants, so the hotel restaurant is the only real option. For the price we paid, and considering DC's hotel costs in general, this is a good value. The absolutely worst part is the very old front desk guy was extremely rude and gruff to several people, and short with us. He was not helpful and seemed bothered that anyone would ask him questions. I can't believe the Owner would keep this guy as your first impression at this hotel. Mehr

First, we got a room that had malfunctioning light in the bathroom and smell. We requested a change of the room and did not have problems with that. The other room was clean, and basically met our expectation for the combination of price, location and maintenance. "Quality as Expected But Beds Made My Body Hurt"
I was prepared for this hotel -- old school place in desperate need of new furnishings in a neighborhood that was once VERY rundown but is now home to new development occupied by young professionals. Near the Waterfront Metro stop, this place was very convenient and cheap. The restaurant, Pier 7, was amazing! Great old school place with very good food. Very pleasantly surprised as I was not expecting anything other than a shoddy restaurant bar. HOWEVER, the beds are awful. An older building and dated decor, but despite some flaws in the wallpaper, the rooms my friends and I were in were clean and functional. The waterfront provides good opportunity for walking or running without needing to cross many streets. A frontage road separates the building from most traffic. Groceries, wine and beer are available at the Safeway […] by the Metro. The hotel pool was empty, but guests can use a nearby indoor heated pool at no charge. The Smithsonian museums are about a half mile up 7th, and there's a pedestrian walkway across the bridge to the Jefferson Memorial. Nice views over Potomac River Channel. Arena Theater complex across the road. Brisk 15min walk to L'Enfant Metro and 20min to the Mall.

Nice waterfront location two blocks from a metro station. The rest. was acceptable. Some problem with door access, but overall a good stay. I would stay again.

If your purpose is to visit is to see the National Mall and monuments, then this hotel is just a few blocks away from it. There are two metro stations (Waterfront and L'Enfant Plaza) nearby with connectivity to all the 5 metro lines. The hotel is situated right next to the marina from where several cruises start. The hotel has a good location, we could walk to the Capitol, the museums, etc. Because of the spring break the hotel was expensive, I believe for the same price we could have gotten a better hotel in other time of the year.Breakfast at the hotel (not included) was very good, all the staff were friendly, helpful and nice.

Great location at the warf. Hotel rooms are dated but very clean. Wish there was an in room coffee maker. But hotel coffee shop opens at 6:30, and had a great breakfast selection.

I took my 2 daughters (7 & 9) to Washington for all the typical sight seeing. The free parking at the hotel saved us a ton of money. Plus it was only 2 blocks from the nearest metro station. I found the hotel staff to be both helpful and polite ( this was also true of most of the people we met). As for the room itself it was very dated. But everything […] appeared clean. "There were bugs in the room!"
I got itch after staying in the hotel for four nights. One night I even found two bugs near my pillow. I was very suspicious if they changed the sheet for me. The food at 7 piers was awful! Never dine there!
"Cosy Hotel close to all sites and quite waterfront"
This hotel is on the waterfront, next to the Warf and watrerfront apts. The prioce was reasonable for last minute. Upon reading the reviews in advance, we asked for a hotel with the harbor view and balacony on 1st floor. Great advice. Worth the scenary. We liked the place and location. Close walk to Downtown and all sites. Close to Fish market and Jefferson […] memorial. Across from Oriental Mandarin Hotel @ $400.00/night. Mattresses were a little firm. We took double beds for family of 5. Oh ya, the Towels there are old and dingy, I recommend to bring your own. Ice machine on 1st floor busted and pool has been out of order for 10 years since the last reviews. The lobby is old and dated but who cares. Planes and copters fly oer every monrning and evening as Dulles international acorss river and Pentagon is accross the harbor so it can get noisy, but if you are never there, who cares. The restaurant dinning room and cafeteria is old and head dinning person was cheap as she would not provide a cup of hot water, but then again for no frills and nickel and dimming is similar everywhere else. The great part is that parking is free for guests. Other places and hotels charge approx $47/day, so that is a big perk. !. And you are close the the waterfront metro, Safeway markets, CVS, Starbucks and other restaurants. Also a short walk to the pear waterfront boat rides and the titanic statue. OVerall greatly recommended for families on a budget to see DC. Mehr

Fairly well maintained for an older hotel. No coffee maker or fridge. Coffee in coffee shop cost $2.35/cup. Nice venue on river, but a good hike to mall and other attractions.

the hotel was great. stafff was friendly and the location was nice. liked the balcony overlooking the river.the remote didnt work for the tv but no big deal there.i don't recommend ordering fodd from "papa joes" they had a fler in the room."papa joes" food is awful!! they got the order wrong took almost an hour to get the food and it was wrong then […] another hour for the correct order. food was bad!!! other than that expeiance the hotel is nice for the price and i would stay there again. The hotel is ok for being a decent price. There were no vending macginces or ice in the ice machince. Only 2 sodas were available in the soda machine. You will have to go withour extra pillows bc after 8 they lock housekeeping and u cant get anything. The parking garage is spooky
"Poor security standard"
There was a guy trying to get into the room which I had already checked in. I found out that Front desk assigned the same room number. It is totally unacceptable. I do not mind an old fashioned hotel however security is the priority! Moreover, there is no breakfast provide beside expensive meal for breakfast!

"Great location for the money"
We stayed with our 7 and 8 year olds. Room was perfect to come back to and sleep after sight seeing. Great view from the balcony of the channel and within walking distance of the Smithsonian museums. A little musty smelling, could use some updates to the bathrooms (very old looking and torn wallpaper) but all in all great for a cheap getaway! "Channel Inn DC - Worked For Us"
Sure it needs some updates, but who can complain when the price is right!! Check-In was fast because I was prepaid and I asked for a Riverfront room and they didn't even charge extra. The room was clean and met our needs. Can you say FREE parking, a 3 block walk to the Metro and Bike Share next door - very convenient to everything. Stayed there 5 nights […] with my 2 teenagers during Cherry Blossom time in a 1st floor balcony by the water - beautiful. Walked to the Tidal Basin to see the blossoms and the Wharf for fresh seafood, took the Metro to the Smithsonians and all the sites. We had dinner at Pier 7 one night and it was good - I had a $25 certificate so - it was even better!! After reading other reviews of this hotel - I was very skeptical. It worked out for us and wasn't as bad as people said. We saved a bunch by staying there and how much are you in the room anyway?? Mehr

"Excellent location - good service"
Stayed at the hotel with couple of friends on a weekend in DC. The hotel is within walking distance from National mall and having a free parking is a Great plus. Service was very quick and courteous, they provided us with a rollaway bed to accommodate 3 persons in the room. The room: beds, floor & bathroom was clean. The walls were recently painted. Electricity […] might have needed some maintenance, as one of the lights didn't work, but can't complain with the price :) The room had an excellent river view, and we enjoyed it a LOT for the time we stayed in it :) I would highly recommend this to visitors looking for a clean cheap convenient option. Nothing fancy but perfectly acceptable, with a nice view of the Potomac, and two blocks from a metro stop.
