Best Western Alamo Suites Downtown - San Antonio

Stay was great !~ walking Distance to where I wanted to be ! Room was clean,Service at desk was great ! Hotel Amenities were great ,Location was Great !

When I booked the room, I didn't realize how distant this hotel is from downtown. It's only about 6 blocks from the Mexican market, but quite a ways from downtown and the riverwalk. There is a trolley service about 3 blocks down and it was quite efficient, and only cost $1.10 per trip, so it's very reasonable. Staff was very helpful, but there was a […] smell in the room , probably from the airconditioner. Our room was on the street, which was a bit noisy from traffic and the doggy daycare across the street. Overall it was a good place to stay, for the money we wanted to spend. Mehr

I was lost most of my time in San Antonio but the hotel is perfect for the Riverwalk or anything near downtown.I also loved the staff and how helpful they were at drawing me maps to get me where I needed to be.

I would definitely stay here again. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Overall, very clean. My room was roomy and totally comfortable for a 4 day/3 night stay.

This hotel has a narrow entrance to the parking lot and made difficult at times to get in and out

Loved having 2 king beds!! There was a pool and hot tub for the kids to play in! Great, especially for the price and the Riverwalk is only about a mile away. The only real issue was the neighborhood. The warning signs in the parking lot were a little unsettling and the cop parked in the parking lot when we checked out at 6am didn't make me feel any […] better but atleast they're trying to keep people's stuff safe. Staff was very helpful and hotel was really nice! Neighborhood could be a problem but parking was secure and that helped with any hesitation with the downtown location.

Breakfast could of been better. Got spoiled after staying at other Best Western hotels.

My husband and I love to travel and dine out, and when we travel, we generally get an economy hotel so we can spend more money on food an attractions. We found the Best Western in San Antonio to be a good fit for us. Rooms and lobby and clean and comfortable. Nothing is trendy, or cutting-edge, or luxurious, but we didn't need it to be. Hotel has very […] friendly, accommodating service, which puts the service level above the price level--a great thing in my mind. It's about a mile and a half from the Riverwalk, 2 miles from La Villita, and 2 1/2 miles from the Alamo. But it's close to the King Charles historic district, and the Pioneer Flour Mill. We generally walked into town at the beginning of each day, and cabbed back afterward. Or, if you're feeling like you'd like to get some good exercise and see more of San Antonio, you can rent bikes downtown for $10/day and easily bike to and from the hotel (it's about 6 minutes by bike). A drive to the riverwalk & Alamo but the parking was convenient and the room was large and clean. Staff was courteous and friendly.

Hotel was ok. The neighborhood was a bit shady and not close to downtown. A good 15-20 min walk not as close as we expected and a good 30 mins to the Alamo.

Friendly staff. A really good breakfast! The location is a little strange: on a one-way street by an interstate entrance ramp. Also, it's in a commercial area and not in within walking distance of any restaurants. But overall, it was a great value and a comfortable place to stay.

Had to get them to move us to another room because of a smell, maybe from the pool, but after that it was great. Easy to use the trolly system to get downtown and a great location to get back on the freeway. All in all a very good choice for the three days we were there.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The neighbor was a little shady, but not too bad. The beds were very uncomfortable, but the room was spacious.

Me and my husband decided to book this hotel because we came to San Antonio for our honeymoon and it was close to the Riverwalk and was a fairly decent price for our pockets. The mattress was so hard that every day we woke up our necks and backs were hurting. Also, our toilet did not flush well. This hotel is great. We were only 20 minutes away from Sea World and Fiesta Texas. Less than 5 minutes from the Riverwalk -- took us longer to find a parking place at the River. the pool and hot tub was clean and very comfortable

Don't let this picture fool you! It looks wonderful but when you get there it's right next to a electrical sub station and doesn't have a view of anything! No guest service of any kind, no room service, when I got to my room I expected clean, it was decent but they didnt clean good! My kids had stuck ring pop stick I'n their mouth that they found under […] the table! GROSS! Plus they don't change your sheets! When the maids are suppose to clean your room and you ask to come back later they will wait outside your door and knock every 5 min bugging you and making you feel uncomfortable!! I had to jus let mine In while I was busy and watched her clean! Not the best job I would say and never changed sheets! Very rude!! And the parking area is crowded and since your In the ghetto be sure to be approached by crackhead or others on drugs as we were! Not a good area to go on vacation and take children! I felt like I was in a motel 6!! Never agin will I go there and would not recommend it! Good luck of you want to stay here! If you don't mind motel 6 this is the place for you but why pay even more? Very suitable for a great stay and reasonable price

This is a very nice hotel to stay in, but it is NO where near the Alamo. While I appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff, the location leaves a great deal to be desired. It is near a trolley stop that will take you down town, and a taxi downtown is reasonably priced. Beds and pillows were terrible and it was a long way from the sights; however the staff was very friendly and helpful. Not in the best surroundings.

Enjoyed stay. Was quiet. Rooms clean. Nice staff. Close to a lot of attractions. We had an event at the Alamodome and it is a straight shot, about 1 mile away. Recommend this hote.

We did the downtown scene Ripley's was amazing so was Market Square must do.

The breakfest was sad. Quality was moderate. Better to advertise it as continental type. Employees very nice. Rooms clean. Indoor pool popular with kids. Great for price.

Very clean and very comfortable. The people at the front desk to the wonderful gals cleaning the rooms were all friendly and courteous.

I must say that I was very surprised with this hotel. For the low rate that was quoted, the rooms were very nice. The staff was excellent, beds were very comfortable, room was clean and the amenities were great. Iwould highly reccommend this hotel.

A quiet,clean and friendly site. A wonderful bargain. I will stay there again.

First night the room we were given was shabby and had smell. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and only had one bed. But then next morning the front desk person changed our room and it was nice. The manger was rude but the front desk person was very accommodating and very nice.

Neiborhood is a issue

The breakfast sitting area was inadequate for the number of hotel guess.

Good price, nice indoor pool & hot tub, close to downtown sights although we didn't get to do much sight seeing ....

The people were very nice and helpful. The fans in the batrooms are a little loud. Pool was nice. The pool was nice and warm. Not the best area in town but no problems and very accessable to highway.

While the hotel has suites in the name I think it is being generous with the word. Negatives - small breakfast area, cannot see the tv from the couch, no room for others to come and visit in your room, extremely slow moving elevator, no sink in room other than in bathroom. Plus side...clean rooms, indoor pool, decent breakfast, well lit parking. This […] is in a part of town that is being renovated. There are some redone buildings but still some empty buildings and construction on the freeway. The hotel is fairly easy to access and is next to two other brand name hotels. It is an inexpensive, clean place to stay but definately not suites. Mehr
