Acadiana Lodge - Lafayette

I was checked in to the Acadiana hotel by a clerk who was drinking Red Stripe out of the bottle. She explained that the door keys were having problems, so she gave me multiple swipe cards for my room. I was unable to swipe into the building. Meanwhile, one of the glass doors to get in was shattered with glass hanging in the frame - Not a small crack; […] No, shattered with cracks touching all four sides of the frame. The same was true of the glass in the wall of the Business Center in the hotel lobby. I returned to the desk, got new cards, which let me into the building but not into my room. I reported the broken glass, and the management already knew about it. In fact, the manager came to my room to verify that the door card was not working, and led me into the building using the shattered and unsafe door. No one should have been using that door. The glass could have fallen out at any point in time. Because the room door was broken, and all queen sized rooms were full, the manager upgraded me to a king size bed. The king size bed was equipped with queen size sheets. Sheets did not reach fully across the bed, and were about a foot short. As I went to sleep, I was a little freaked out about touching the mattress. The apples included with the continental breakfast were excellent. I believe they may have been honeycrisp, which is a high grade. They were perfectly ripe, with excellent texture and flavor. Easily the best apples I have had in 6 months. Mehr

Didn't like the hotel the pictures of the rooms on hotels.com look better than the actual room.the room and hotel sucked

Room wasn't very clean, moly shower curtain. Pool was not working. Had few small pillows.

The incomplete renovations make this place look totally skanky at first glance, but the room was immaculate! Linens and pillows were dreamy, and bathroom was spotless. Except for the batteries in the TV remote being dead I really had no complaints. A Great Deal!

I have stayed at a few sketchy and dirty places in my day. The Acadiana Lodge is one of the worst places so far! The stay started with a customer service concern: The number for the hotel did not work and simply had the message that all circuits were busy. This was followed by safety concerns: The room door showed signs of a previous break in and the […] back, sliding glass door did not close all the way. The kicker, though, was the obvious signs of neglect and lack of cleaning: The floor had the remains of Easter basket stuffing (I stayed nearly a month after Easter); there was large (2" x 4") pile of accumulated dust, dirt, and other debris in the corner by the bathroom; there was a used razor on the floor by the toilet; and there were stinky jeans left at the bottom of the closet. I found it difficult to relax in the space and would not recommend it to others. Mehr

Good hotel for an inexpensive short stay. It's an older hotel, but they are trying. There was a few too many pieces of furniture in the room, so it was a little crowded. The rooms on the second floor have a small balcony. Fridge and microwave in room was helpful.

The pool was in no condition to use. Our bathtub needed a good scrubbing and drain had some clogging.Early Sunday morning we were awaken by people in the next room/s arguing and using profanity. Front desk was notified. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting, The police were notified. Within 10 minutes of the call, we could hear knocking on the other room's […] door and then there was no more ruckus. Who silenced the riff-raff? Front desk or police? What I do know is, we'll go back to staying near I-10 and spending a little bit more. Mehr

Ai9r conditioner didn't work properly. Swimming pool was unclean. Continental breakfast was virtually non-existant.

Hotel location satisfactory, pleasant environment but poor hygiene bathroom not cleaned properly and the presence of used and unused condoms under the bed. Breakfast not supplied and no staff to meet demand

What we expected for the price... The room was pretty clean. AC made some noise, but it wasn't too bad. Continental breakfast was from 6:00 to 9:00 and when we went to eat at 8:20, almost all the foods were gone. We weren't too happy about that. Interiors look dated and corridors have some unpleasant odors. It was okay for one night stay.

Ok, this hotel was pretty cool at one point but now it is starting to fall into disrepair. First, we went to this hotel because my daughter really likes to swim, it helps to get her tired out after traveling in the car. Well, the pool was closed because it was dirty. Second, the rooms are not really cleaned well. Just don't look under the beds! Where […] we found tools, dirt, diapers, and other junk. the place is generally comfortable, quiet, the air conditioning is good and they have dehumidifiers in the room which is great. But again, for the price it needed to have the pool working and cleaner rooms. Mehr

This was literally the WORST hotel experience I had ever had. The exterior of the building looked very dilapidated, which I could have dealt with if the interior was not just as bad, if not worse. We enter a hallway at 2am where an odd looking woman and her children are sitting. Upon entering our room, we discover that everything looks gross and dirty. […] To my surprise, it seemed the bathroom was the only safe space. The other patrons of our hallway left much to be desired, playing loud music and yelling drunkenly (and seemingly druggedley) at all hours of the night. I called the front desk to complain, and was informed that it was odd as no one was supposed to be in the room next door to us. To the employee's credit, she did come to tell the neighbor to keep it down, although did nothing more regarding the fact that this person was evidently some sort of a squatter who was not supposed to be there. The bed was dirty, the pillows were lumpy, and I honestly thought I was going to catch any number of communicable diseases from the room alone. The "continental breakfast" was little more than some bagels, juice, and white bread for toast. The coffee and hot water for tea were out by the time I got there (8am). I could not wait to get out of that hotel and on to my next destination. If you are looking for an experience that rivals a dirty halfway house, then this is the place for you. The staff was nice however, but this in no way makes up for the deplorable conditions this hotel was in. Mehr
