Song of the Sea - Sanibel

Sehr ruhig und in sehr guter Lage liegendes Hotel in Sanibel. Guter Service. Kostenloser Fahrradverleih, allerdings sind die Fahrräder nicht mehr in neuesten Zustand, aber für kleine Touren bis zu 5 km in die unmittelbare Umgebung noch gut brauchbar (nur tagsüber, da keine Beleuchtung).

Have stayed at many different spots on Sanibel/Captiva over the years~Song of the Sea was okay. Hotels.com informed of a first floor unit and upon arrival this wasn't available...room was fairly clean,comfortable~'continental breakfast' left us with good opportunity to return to favorite spots~the front desk employees had bland personality (acted burnt-out',and […] it's only December!!) would not recommend & would not return....many other friendlier spots to stay! With plywood between the mattress and box springs and the fact that you could hear everything from the room up stairs, that includes bowel movements. This was not a good experience.

Very romantic, quaint, beautiful environment. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly especially Tresann and Katie at breakfast! Definitely a place for couples. All the extras add such a nice touch such as: beach umbrellas set up for you, bottle of wine on arrival, free breakfast, free bikes for zipping around the island. Have been back to Song of the Sea for many years & have always enjoyed my stay. This hotel is intimate & the staff are always a delight. The continental breakfast & chairs with umbrella are provided which makes it a plus. While this is geared to couples, the other hotels in this chain are very suitable for families. This hotel is not kids friendly. Would not recommend to families with small children. Rooms are small, very small bathroom. Small kitchenette, dining table for only 2 persons. Breakfast was ok, however it was served in a small room in a "lobby" of the hotel and tables were outside. Poor service and unfriendly personnel. Did not fill welcome. Not romantic, […] overpriced. We enjoyed a great stay at the Song of the Sea. The location is great, right on the water. The employees were all very nice and accomodating. I wish I had brought my own pillow since theirs are rather small and too soft. The ceiling fan and tile floor add a nice touch. Free bikes available to roam the island. We would definitiely stay there again.

Nice place. Nothing fancy, but better than many older properties on the island. Quiet and serene for the most part. Older hotel remodeled with nice decor, comfy beds. Bathrooms are very small, but everything else was comfortable. Pleasant staff. Clean for the most part, but door knobs and their metal plates, as well as light switches, need to be spayed […] and cleaned better. Lots of grungy fingerprints. My only other complaint was that landscaping and lawn service started at 8:00 AM in the morning - very noisily. Woke me up plus several other guests. Not appropriate timing for a resort hotel. Don't pay extra for "gulf view" rooms like we did. The regular rooms have almost as much of a view. But I would return. Mehr

my boyfriend and i stayed here for one night this memorial weekend. i picked this hotel because of all the positive ratings i found on tripadvisor. However, the room we were in had a stale, damp smell. The ac was also very loud. This hotel had a nice private beach. The location was convienent to local restaurants. Quiet couples retreat.

This is a great hotel and nice location. I liked that it was small and quiet. Very nice access to the beach. Pool and hot tub are clean and relaxing. My only complaint is the breakfast - the coffee was weak, the offerings for a hotel of this caliber were what I could get at the other hotels half this price. White wonder bread, store mini-muffins, frosted […] flakes? The fresh fruit and the NY Times were the only items worthwhile on the buffet. I would suggest going grocery shopping if you want something healthier and tastier for breakfast. There is a coffee maker and kitchenette in the room. Mehr

It is a great place to stay! Right on the beach, quiet, nice pool, nice sized room, very pretty hotel.

From the moment we pulled in, we found the Song of the Sea a very attractive place to stay. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The heated pool is very nice, and the hot tub is fantastic! The location right on the beach was great. Another plus: full breakfast is included, and offers home made waffles!

Friendly and quiet place where service is excellent. Is a bit old but there has been some attempt at updating. Lovely property and easy beach access.

Great place. I enjoyed it. The location was great and I didn't feel they were nickel and diming me to death.

We were pleasantly surprised at the experience from this hotel. I brought my two 14 year olds and my 12 year old. Our room was kinda tight for four, but not unreasonably so. There is not a lot of hanging or closet space - but that wasn't very important to us. The room was very nicely appointed and the bathroom was kinda small - but very nice. The room […] was impecably clean. The walk to the beach was longer than we normally like - but not unreasonable. The pool was small - but nice. The grounds were pretty. The staff were very friendly and helpful - no complaints there at all! The outdoor patio for eating breakfast was very quaint and pleasant. The breakfast was nice - not a lot of protein to be found - but my kids had great fun making their own waffles! We had to check out at 11:00 am promptly because they needed to prepare our room for other guests - but they recommended that we could spend our day at their sister property, next door, The Sanibel Inn. They had a nice pool and a little pool bar. The staff there were very friendly as well. We ended up staying there all afternoon. The really great part was they had a shower, towels, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, etc. that we could use to clean up before we headed to the airport! Mehr

Wow, this was a wonderful place to go on our honeymoon! We wanted some R&R, and we definatly found the perfect place for it. The staff is so kind and friendly. The rooms are so unique, with the kitchen, the tile floors, our own screened in porch, and the big comfy bed. On arrival, they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine which was an extra special […] treat. Sanibel is a beautiful island with it's own character, and so much to do. I always have enjoyed going to beaches with white soft sand, but Sanibel is a mixture of soft, and shells which I wasn't sure if I'd like at first. We had so much fun finding sea shells, and it was a nice change of pace from the Carribean trips I have been on in the past. Overall, we definatly made the right chioce in staying at Song of the Sea. Directly on the beach. Everything was clean. The breakfast was good (if you want, you can sit outside).

Loved how quiet the hotel and grounds were. Several European families there. Great to hear different languages and accents. Was even very quiet at night. Complimentary breakfast was excellent! Beach was a VERY short walk with free use of chairs and umbrellas. Excellent shelling beach. Each room had a complimentarty bottle of red wine in it. It would […] have been nice if they had asked if we would rather have red or white. I am unable to drink red wine due to migraines, so our bottle remained there when we left. The kitchen area, frig. and bathroom were spotless. The floor of our room was not very clean. Lots of ground in dirt and ? ground in food. Some mold up by the AC ducts. Would have been better if that had been wiped down weekly with a mild bleach solution. It is difficult to be mold free in a wet, humid enviornment. Mehr

SUPERB GET-A-WAY IDEAL FOR A COUPLE...INTIMATE, YOU CAN BE A RESTFUL OR ACTIVE AS YOU WANT TO BE! meaning just staying on property, with the beach and pool, or enjoy the pleasures of sanibel island ie *ding-darling nature park* or a Scarab *thriller* ride to see pods of dolphins! amenities are superb!!

Quiet, wonderful place to relax. Footsteps to the beach. Clean, great free breakfast and free bottle of wine. Ask for room facing the beach. Spent 2 nights, but would have liked to stay longer.

Excellant rooms with screened balconys. Very nice swimming pool & spa. Staff was very friendly & helpfull. Nice quiet place to relax on the beach. We will be coming back to this hotel again.

The breakfast was great!! We went with our 2 young children and had a great stay. It is so small that we were right by the pool and walking down to the beach was so easy also. We will definitley visit this hotel again. The staff was very friendly also!

Super hyggeligt hotel med en skøn beliggenhed - fint at hotellet også har gratis cykler til rådighed for gæsterne.

Un hôtel bien placé, agréable. Attention pour les familles. L'ambiance est plutôt couple en lune de miel ou retraités. Sinon, un petit coin de paradis au milieu des limules...

Endroit superbe et chambre correcte. Deux bémols : les dragons à la réception et le côté résidence de vieux ... pas top si on cherche un peu d'ambiance. La piscine interdite dès la nuit tombée ... soit à 19h30 fin octobre !! Dommage car le reste est super.

Tout aurait été parfait, la chambre, la kitchenette, la piscine, la plage, sans les 2 mégères à l'entrée qui menaçaient le fumeur que je suis d'une amende conséquente. De la même façon, déjeuner façon militaire contrastant durement avec le charme indéniable de l'endroit. Dommage mais je n'y retournerai pas

L'hôtel aurait besoin de travaux, il commence à vieillir. L'état des chambres laisse à désirer. Le personnel hormis une personne n'est vraiment pas sympathique du tout. Les enfants ne sont pas les bienvenus. A contrario, les commerçants de Sanibel sont sympathiques. Le seul avantage de la destination pour moi est la piscine et la plage très proche de […] la chambre (enfant de 4 ans) et la tranquilité de l'ile. Il n'y a pas grand chose à faire à Sanibel. Vous aurez compris, je ne conseille pas du tout l'hôtel. Mehr

c est un de nos meilleur hôtel de notre voyage en Floride. Chambre agréable piscine spa agréable plage un peu sauvage et magnifique juste à coté ( coquillages ) petit dèj parfait ( de tout et gaufrier en self service ) vélo en prêt . On peut se faire à manger dans la chambre. ( four cuisinière ... assiettes, couvert...) Parking gratuit. Cadeau dans […] la chambre ( une bouteille de vin californien ). Une laverie si vous avez du linge à laver BREF un vrai paradis !!! Dommage nous ne sommes resté qu' une nuit !! ( certain avaient signaler une odeur de moisi dans la chambre et c est vrai mais bon il suffit d 'aérer un peu = on est en région chaude et humide donc pas étonnant !) Mehr

hotel parfait sur sanibel

Tout simplement génial. Cet hotel est magnifique. Petit bungalow avec accès direct à l'extérieur. Pas de couloir, pas d'ascenseur. Le calme. Belle piscine. accès direct par un ponton à la plage de Sanibel. Superbe. On peut voir nager les dauphins dans la baie le matin. La chambre est bien équipée : kitchenette, frigo, fer a repasser. Très belle escale. Cet hôtel est très tranquille. Les jardins luxuriants et piscine et jacuzzi superbes. la mer est à 20 mètres à pieds. Plage magnifique sable blanc. un lieu paradisiaque.
