The Westin Resort & Spa Cancun - Cancún

Die schöne Lage des Hotels am Ende der Hotelkette von Cancun haben wir als Vorteil empfunden. Das Hotel hat mehrere Pools, die ausreichend groß sind. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Das Westin liegt am südlichen Ende der Zona Hotelera, weit weg vom Trubel. Der Strand ist sehr schön und weitgehend menschenleer. Als besonderes Plus möchte ich erwähnen, dass das Hotel über Pools auf beiden Seiten des Hotels verfügt. Am späteren Nachmittag, wenn der Schatten auf die Pools auf der Karibik-Seite fällt, kann man zum Pool auf der Lagunenseite […] wechseln und dort noch den Sonnenuntergang geniessen. Die Zimmer sind schön gross und bieten eine hervorragende Sicht auf das Meer - sofern man Meersicht gebucht hat. Ein eigenes Auto ist von Vorteil, wenn man ausserhalb essen will. Sonst gibt es natürlich günstige Taxis und den öffentlichen Bus, der vor dem Hotel eine Haltestelle hat. Mehr

Had a great vacation at the Westin. The service couldn't have been better. The hotel definitely needs some updating in the rooms and needs a little maintaining. But the employees were 5 stars, the location was 5 star, the beach was 5 star, and the food was 5 star. I personally loved the rooms on the first floor for easy access with kids. Beach looks pretty but is in the worst undertow area. Furniture literally falling apart. Sales people selling in bar trips in the lobby that are misrepresented. The water in the tub ran brown!!! Really disgusting. I booked this hotel because it was a Westin. But it does not match any Westin I have ever seen. More like the cheapest hotel on the strip. […] I would NOT recommend this hotel. There are better deals out there. And way better hotels. Mehr

The Resort was adequate. When my family checked in, no one advised us as to what the Resort had to offer. Three hamburgers cost more than a full course meal at a high-end restaurant. We checked out the next day. We will not return.

We had an amazing stay at the Westin Resort & Spa Hotel. There is nothing to complain about. would like to come back to this hotel.

Pretty cool retro/modernist architecture. Could use some updates to 70's decor and some of the room fixtures. Good quiet location. Overall was a good stay. I can't understand why they feel the need to charge ridiculous amounts for breakfasts...it's eggs and toast!

After our trip to Cuba, the Cancun Westin was an unexpected luxury on our one night stay over. We wished we had more time. We certainly would stay there again as we like the Cancun area.

I fly through Cancun often and usually stay near the airport at one of two hotels. This visit I opted for the Westin - good choice. Nearly the same price as the others but such better service and comfort.

Multiple pools, facing both the ocean and the lagoon. The rooms are showing their wear a little bit, but still a fantastic hotel. Cons: they charged US$6.40 for a 1.5L bottle of water. Ouch! Pros: everything else!

This is a great value including a full B'Fast; wonderful beach and quiet which is because it is at the south end of the hotel zone. Recommended!!

This southernmost large hotel always gives me the privacy and intimacy I crave when on vacation. It is perfect for those who shun the crowded feel of the rest of the Cancun strip. The service is excellent, and the property is well maintained. Get the ocean view when you book...no better way in the world to wake up.

It's the very first on the strip so there is need for transportation.

The Westin was lovely in many respects - the size and condition of the room, the friendly hotel front--desk clerk, the complimentary upgrade (I already had ocean front requested). The drawback: Room service was very slow and I was unpleasantly surprised by the grand charge for simple quessadillas. I was not impressed by the food. Close to airport - llocated at the start of hotel zone - convenient bus stop to La Isla mall - clean and great service!!

I have stayed in several Starwood hotels and this hotel was not what I was expecting. We reserved an Ocean View. They forgot to tell you there are no balconies on any floor except the top floor and that its an upgrade. The original room was unclean and the overall quality of the hotel was substandard. NOTHING CLOSE TO A WESTIN. I was very disappointed. […] The location was not convenient to anything. The prices were outrageous! The only positive of the whole trip was the hotel was half empty and the service was ok. The bed was no heavenly bed. I will never go back! Mehr

We stayed at the Westin for our last night in Cancun. The beach is picturesque and the staff are great in this hotel. It is further up the hotel strip and closer to the airport but nice location.

I have stayed in Westin hotels all over the states and this was not like any westin I have stayed in ever. Extrememly disappointed.

We had a wonderful time in Cancun. The hotel staff were all extremely courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet a bit pricey, but kids were free so it worked out. The hotel is at the beginning of the hotel zone, in a quiet area, so nothing walking distance (restaurants or shops). Beach/pool area wonderful with lots of chairs and umbrellas.

We booked the Resort Beach Club as it appeared to be a better room, more 'elite' than the rest of the hotel. Bad choice...the Resort Beach Club section of the building is separate from everything which means you have to walk through the entire hotel to get to anything other than the 1 restaurant choice in the section. The service for dinner took over […] 1 hr to get our food and was entirely overpriced. The happy hour cocktails were not made well and then the breakfast the next am was typical american food. The water from the bath was brown and the shower and sink acted like they hadn't been turned on in years. The hotel is on the very end of the hotel zone away from anything and everything so you have to take, again, an overpriced cab to go anywhere. The only good part was the bed. An hour into arriving we knew it was a bad choice and should have left. Mehr

They upgraded bothof our rooms to ocean view upon arrival. Older hotel, but clean. Our room dd not have a balconey although some of the rooms did (so request one) Breakfast was pricey although once I questioned price as we have 3 children they gave us 2 for 1. Staff was ver friendly. Only stayed one night as we were moving to the Mayan Riviera

No king size bed available, very noisy room, bad service at restaurant, no hand and face towels available, and a very very old rooms

Hotel is on the end of the hotel zone and away from all of the people and noise. The hotel check in was simple, it was clean, beautiful clean pools and beach. Everyone was very friendly and nice. Bed was very comfortable. High water pressure in the shower with nice hot water. The area is very humid so I understand there will be a musty smell from time […] to time so not complaining. This hotel has a great location if you want to stay close to the airport. Don't use any of the facilities unles you are ready to spend $30/person for a breakfast buffet, or $9 for a bottle of water from your room. Most disturing I found is that they charge $10 for using the exercise facilities, first time this ever happened to me at any hotel... Food and Drinks were over the top exensive. Paid $7 for a bottle of water at dinner one night. Drinks were around $10 - even in the little plastic cups at the beach. It is clear that Westin is investing in its other property and letting this one run down. A bunch of the beach has eroded. Cabs were around $11 one way to get anywhere. We actually made a reservation for the ME by Melia but found out that it is a sex hotel with toys and stuff in every room, and we were looking for a more realxing moral environment so we decided on the Westin. It wasn't what I expected, the walls in our room were made out of solid concrete and were very high so the room echoed and there was a tremendous […] amount of moisture in the room, our sheets and clothes always felt damp or wet. Now we are from Miami and used to humid climates and this was just designed horribly. When opening the front door it would always hit the closet and there was a black mark where every guest had done the same thing. They charge you to use the internet like 50 pesos for 30 minutes. The pools are nice, the restaurant was excellent, the waves were too strong to actually enjoy the ocean. At sunset, this hotel's beach is obsured in shade. Mehr

The hotel was not busy - housekeeping service was terrible - I called 3 times to get washcloths and never did receive them. Housekeeping would did not leave coffee / handtowels -- calling front desk did not take care of this. When I called front desk for wake-up service they did not answer phone. I called 4 different times w/no answer. We had lunch […] on outdoor patio - took forever for a waiter to come and then another party of 4 sat down and they got service (food & drinks) before we did. This was not satisfactory to us. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times but will not return to this hotel due to service. Mehr

The hotel and the beach are really beautiful, but we had several service issues which really interfered with the enjoyment of our stay. Upon our arrival, we noticed that the sheets in one of our beds were quite stained. On the next day we arrived at the pool, we were told that it was too late to get a pool towel, despite the fact that it was a hot, […] sunny afternoon and it was not even 6:30 pm. We tried calling the concierge to request some towels, but no one answered any of the calls, so we had to walk to the lobby to ask for towels (and when they arrived they had huge holes in them). The Sunset Bar closes several hours before sunset, so if you want a drink at the beautiful pool bar, the staff instructs you to walk up to the Lobby Bar, which is quite a distance away. There were also not enough towels in our room on the second day of our stay, so we tried to call housekeeping to request more towels, only to find out that our telephone wasn't working. Also, the hotel staff must not be trained to say "hello" or "hola" to guests as we pass them. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet is delicious, but be aware of the price, as it is quite expensive. Mehr

As I understand it, most people book this hotel because of the discount rates on travel websites. Let me just say--it's not worth it. They charge for nearly every amenity in the place, including breakfast, the gym, etc. And the restaurants are outrageously expensive, as are the poolside drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel […] was a bit run-down; you get the feeling that they don't spend much on maintenance. Also it's at the very end of the 'hotel zone', so getting downtown or anywhere local is a hike. Nice place and affordable, but beware of hidden costs. Mehr

Great place to stay. It's out of the way of all the younger crew livin' it up in Cancun. It's close to the airport. The rooms were great. I loved being on the first floor and being able to walk out of my room and to the pool. The staff was great. The first night we stayed in a room that had air con problems. We woke up and everything was damp and the […] floor was wet! They tried fixing it, but finally moved us to a room that was not so wet and much colder. For the problem, they gave us a free meal at the nice restraurant. It was great food (but pricey). Best tip I can give: get to know the Bus routes! The local bus will pick you up just feet from the hotel. It will cost you $7.50 peso's to take you as far as you want. Be careful- as soon as you get off the bus for a transfer, you will have to pay another $7.50 peso's (less than .75 cents USD) to get back on. You can take a bus (R-15, I think) to Wal-mart. Great idea to get some snacks and pretty much anything you left behind.It's about a 35 minute bus ride to get there. R-1 bus will take you to the bigger area of Cancun where Senior Frogs, Starbucks and the flea market is located. It's about a 15 minutes bus ride to get there. The pools at the hotel are great. The ocean is beautiful and the lagoon is smelly! I enjoyed it much better than Cozumel. Enjoy! Mehr

Everyone was really kind. I paid for a laguna view room and they even upgraded me to an Ocean View Room, it was amazing. Staff would come to see what you need while in the pool. The food is good. The only thing I would do is to have a jacuzzi in the part of the Westin Hotel, it is divided in three, the Regina, the Westin and the Royal Beach, the Royal […] Beach got a jacuzzi but was turned off all the time :(.. Otherwise nice beach, and the rooms are amazing. Hope eveyone goes to this hotel. Mehr

We went during low season (October) and had a great time. Great beach, great pools, great service, great spa. We LOVED the Westin!

We had a fun time at the Westin. Hotel was nice. I was just surprised that they'll be charging me $10 for the use of the gym. I thought it was free.

C'est la troisième fois nous retournons dans cet hotel, l'accueil et le service est parfait. La plage est la plus claire a cet endroit de la toute l zone hotelière qui compte 20km. Nous le conseiller fortement.

Hotellet ligger i området for "all inclusive" på alle hoteller. Derfor må du helt inn til byen for å kunne spise på "lokale spiseplasser" Området er som en stor feriemaskin som kunne være hvor som helst i verden. Opplegget på hotellet er bra. Til tross for det er stort er det muligheter for å være på små plasser i hotellet. Flott spa og treningssen […] ter. Mehr

Solo estuve dos noches pero la mucama nunca arregló mi habitación a pesar de tener colocado el cartel indicando que lo hicieran. La infrestrcutura no está mal aunque no es mi estilo. El area de piscina y playa si tiene un muy buen estilo. Es el primer hotel de la zona hotelera cuando vienes del aeropuerto, así que si vienes tarde y cansado no es una […] mala opción. Buen hotel aunq las habitaciones necesitan remodelacion. Por el mismo precio se puede conseguir otro hotel de mejor calidad (por ej Presidente Intercontinental). Punto a favor es q las playas de los hoteles ubicados en el comienzo de la zona hotelera (incluyendo el Westin) son mas hermosas q las de los hoteles al final de la zona hotelera.

Es amplio nuevo y muy cómodo.

cela fait la 2eme fois que nous nous rendons dans cet hôtel, dans la partie "ROYAL BEACH", il se trouve en fin de zone hotelière, très bien desservi par des bus vous ammenant au centre 10 mn. Très propre, très accueillant par du personnel souriant, prêt à vous renseigner, sans attrendre forcement un pourboire, Il est très calme, idéal pour des vacances […] en couple ou en famille, la plage est grande et l'eau est d'un bleu turquoise à perte de vue. Plusieurs restaurants à thème, SPA, tennis, etc... sans hésitation nous y retournerons. Pour les personnes ne parlant pas beaucoup l'espagnol ou l'anglais, demandeà la réception GUSTAVO, iles très serviable et parle très bien le français, de plus il est de bon conseil pour les activités diverses à l'extérieur. Este hotel es excelente en la atención a los huéspedes, además de los hermosos paisajes marinos propios de Cancún.

Aunque no esta en pleno centro de Cancun ( es el primer hotel desde elaereopuerto) es muy facil movilizarse en trasnsporte publico, Bonito, Tranquilo, comodo, y con excelente atencion
