Strategisch gar nicht schlecht gelegen, alles fußläufig erreichbar. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung aber sehr wenig Raum und Sitzgelegenheiten und daher stressig; Lunchpakete oder Zimmerfrühstück jedoch möglich.

Nach dem, was manche ehemaligen Besucher so über das Bank Hotel geschrieben hatten, musste einem ja fast Angst und Bange werden. Klar, es ist ersteinmal ungewöhnlich vom Kneipenpersonal ins Zimmer begleitet zu werden. Es ist halt kein klassisches Hotel, sondern eine Kneipe mit Zimmern. Die sind aber geräumig, gemütlich und für die Lage auch ruhig, zumindest im 2. Stock. Auch mit dem Wasser oder der Sauberkeit hatten wir keine Probleme. Einen Aufzug gibt es nicht, einen Hotel-Parkplatz ohnehin nicht. Aber leider auch keine Vergünstigung oder Kooperation mit anderen Parkhäusern/-plätzen. Fazit: Günstige Zimmer in bester Lage, kein vollwertiges 4-Sterne Hotel, aber ich würde es sicher nochmal buchen.

Der Flughafen von Edinburgh befindet sich 12 Kilometer westlich des Zentrums. Der relativ kleine, aber moderne Flughafen wurde kürzlich umgebaut, um mehr Platz für Restaurants und Geschäfte zu schaffen. Das Stadtzentrum durch eine Buslinie mit dem Flughafen verbunden und kann innerhalb von 30 Minuten erreicht werden. In der Nähe des Flughafens befindet sich eine der beliebtesten Attraktionen der Stadt: Der Edinburgh Zoo, der besonders für seine Pinguine bekannt ist.

Tolles Hotel, hier passt einfach alles - großzügige, ansprechend gestaltete Zimmer, ruhige Lage, trotzdem ein Katzensprung zum Flughafen. Riesieger Fernseher, zusätzlich ein Einbaufernseher bei der Badewanne, sicher eines der besten Hotels, die ich je besucht habe.
"Tolles Hotel, etwas abgelegen und schlechtes Spa"
Das Hotel hat mich absolut überzeugt. Ich biün oft in Edinburgh und das Hotel ist besser, als vergleichbare Hotels in der Stadt. Der Service ist gut, das Frühstück für britische Verhältnisse top. Die Zimmer sind sauber, klassisch und modern eingerichtet. Schlafen tut man sehr gut, weil das Hotel extrem ruhig gelegen ist. Von den Flugzeugen ist nichts […] zu hören, da die Flugbahnen nicht übers Hotel verlaufen. Der Spa Breich ist modern. Offensichtlich aber von jemandem geplant, der soetwas nicht nutzt. Sauna und Dampfbad sind direkt neben dem Pool und den Liegen, sodass es nicht gerade intim ist. Leider sind die Sitze im Damofdad nicht abwaschbar, da kein Schlauch da ist. Man sitzt also im Schweiß der anderen. Es gibt einen Trog zum Abspülen nach der Sauna. Dieser ist jedoch direkt nebem dem Wirlpool, soll das benutzte Wasser direkt dort hineinläuft. Leider sind viele Bereiche, insb. der Trog mit Schwarzschimmer überzogen, obwohl der Breich recht neu zu sein scheint. Alles im allem ein tolles Hotel und aufgrund des guten Preises kann man über die abgeschiedene Lage (€ 20 pro Strecke mit dem Taxi in die Stadt) und die Mängel im Spa hinwegsehen. Mehr
"Schickes Hotel nahe Airport"
Der Check in hat tadellos funktioniert, beim frühen Check out jedoch kein Frühstück möglich. Service war in Ordnung. Das Anwesen ist sehr schön. Das Zimmer samt Bad war exquisit eingerichtet. Tee und Kaffee am Zimmer. Sogar ein Fläschchen frischer Milch war in der Minibar. Die Batisserie hat mehr versprochen, als es gehalten hat. We stayed for one night on New Years Eve, nice location withiin 5 mins of both Airport and Park & Ride. There were plenty of staff and the customer service was friendly. The hotel and facilities are nicely appointed. The bathroom needs updating and the bed was too hard. Rooms were quiet and other guests could not be heard as corridors only contained […] small number of rooms. Scottish breakfast was well proportioned and tasty, service slow but hey it was new years day - how would you feel working on the morning of new years day? All staff were pleasant and a prompt checkout. Generally a 4 out of 5, would recommend and stay again. Mehr
"lovely break"
We stayed here for 1 night too advantage of the spa and had a nice meal in the evening, we only used the hotel as a break from our drive future north and it felt like we had spoilt ourselves. Comfy bed and lovely room, the grounds are beautiful and the spa a delight would stay there again if we are ever that far up north again. "Fantastic and helpful staff"
We stayed for one night on new years eve. The staff were extremely helpful and polite, the food was delightful and the overall standard of the hotel was excellent. I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. The staff in particular make the whole experience a superb one!!
Just back from Norton House hotel. Spent 2 nights there and can't speak too highly of all the staff and the hotel. Our room was fantastic with a separate sittingroom, food was excellent as was the leisure facilities. That's the fourth time we have stayed there and we'd definately go back. Thank you.

We stayed here for 2 nights the food was amazing the spa awesome and it was just a lovely hotel that had service at the heart! If u want a relaxing weekend away but close enough to Edinburgh town centre by taxi then this is the place.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel, food was excellent in the brasserie restaurant. My only negative comment and they should be ashamed of themselves for this is that they charge £1.65 for a small dash of cola as a spirit mixer, given the vodka was already well over priced! Put us off having another drink in the bar.

Our room was in the modern extension and it was extremely comfortable and good value. We could even have watched television in the bath if we hadn't been spending time taking full advantage of the beautiful spa area with a good size swimming pool and enormous jacuzzi. "Loved it"
The accommodation and staff were great, and the surrounding area was breath taking. It was very enjoyable and relaxing, and we highly recommend it.
The grounds were beautiful and very 'calming', whilst the entire hotel was very well kept and offered excellent facilities for dining and activities, both energetic or relaxing. I was most impressed, however, by the helpfulness and pleasant attitude of all the staff whom I encountered. I was sad that my stay was of such short duration.

"A lovely spa hotel"
Hubby and i said at this hotel for a long weekend. We found the staff helpful, the food varied and good and the rooms were lovely. The old part of the hotel is particularly beauriful (it seens to be a popular wedding venue). I had a slight problem in the spa when the receptionist there accidently booked me for the wrong treatment. They did however book […] me in for the treatment i had missed later that day so i felt they dealt with my complaint fairly. "Norton House--relax and unwind"
Very comfortable and peaceful rural setting. You'd never know that you are two miles from the Edinburgh airport. Perfect way to unwind on you way in/out of the country. Downtown Edinburgh is easily accessed by car, or better, by bus that stops 2 minutes from the hotel. Dinner menu is limited in scope, but good. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here, the staff are amazing. The food is great in the Brasserie at Lunch and Dinner, however Breakfast was a disappointment as it was not of the same quality. "Heaven"
Most wonderful beautiful hotel imaginable - and great spa too. Slightly far from city center but only a fun bus ride away. More than worth the slight inconvenience. Highly recommend.
"Nice, but not for business"
If you are planning to stay here as a convenient hop to the airport, DON'T. This hotel is way off the street and difficult to enter. When heading to the airport, you have to go way out of the way and circle around. Like others, I schedule a taxi to arrive at 4:00 am and at 4:05 the hotel finally called again. The taxi was a total of 20 minutes late […] and didn't really know how to get to the airport. A final note, if you are staying for relaxation, I'll warn you that the sounds of planes are very loud. The service was excellent. We choose this hotel because of the proximity to the airport. When it came time for us to retun our rental car to the airport, they had someone drive the hotel vavn to the rental drop off so that we could follow them. The waited for us to return the car and drove us back to the hotel.
Norton House was delightful and not at all like an airport hotel. A fantastic short stop in beautiful surroundings. Even managed a country walk among daffodils and primroses!

"Usher restaurant"
The exterior of this hotel is breathtaking as one arrives. However note that there is a good chance that you will end up in the new building (connected) and not in the old unless you book a suite. This means lots of walking and elevator rides up and down. The interior of the hotel is nice and comfortable but it is not consitent with the exterior and […] unfortunetly does feel somewhat like the chain hotel it is. We had stayed at the hotel before and returned to celebrate a birthday and enjoy the outstanding high quality food in the Usher resturant. I had made sure to get a confirmation of the booking sent via email and I also called to confirm the booking a few days in advance. They did not loose our booking and we had a most enjoyable evening with exellenct food and fantastic wine parings, do not get me wrong. Please have dinner here! However, as we sat down for our meal the waitor informed us that this was the first evening that they had the tasting menu back on beacuse the previous chef had left a couple of months ago. They had now found a new chef that had put together a brand new tasting menu. We flew in from two different countries to have the tasting menu here which was well known to the staff and yet no one had informed us that the previous chef had left. I found this very disappointing and we would have arrived just one day earlier it would have been for nothing. Mehr

This hotel gets a lot of things right and is an excellent choice for a special occations. Would highly recommend. The only thing that we found could have been done better was information about walks in the sourounding area. The hotel has a beautiful setting despite the proximity to the airport and discovering the grounds would have been great. Had a great one night stay at Norton. Lovely dip in pool and some time in sauna, thogh didnt fork out for a spa treatment. Relaxed after our swim with a glass of wine- small glass of white, one tiger beer - Bill was 13 pounds! Dinner at Ushers which is a small room with about eight tables. Food was fantastic. Really memorable dinner. You can have (eye […] wateringly ) expensive wines by the glass from the brasserie next door which I enjoyed greatly, a nice selection. Service was relaxed, and it didnt feel stuffy which is what we feared when we walked in. One of the best meals I've had in edinburgh, and I booked a table the night before! Our executive suite was really comfortable and even had a telly in built into the tiles. Breakfast was also fantastic, great food available. I might even just come back for the breakfast one day! Having researched this night away for some time and compared quite a few hotels I couldn't have made a better choice. Book! Mehr

Lovely hotel, very comfortable and great for a relaxing break! Staff were all very friendly and willing to offer help, food was also delicious! Would advise other travellers to catch the number 48 bus to/from Edinburgh city centre - it takes about 25 minutes and is only £1.20 per adult, much cheaper than taxis!

"A bit pricy, but worth the money in the end"
Comfortable, clean hotel. Only problem is that to reach the swimming pool you need to go outside of the hotel - not good in the cold days, which there is plenty of in Scotland.

We has two short stays at Norton House. Our first stay we took a tradional room which had all the charm of a Country House. On our return from the Highlandswe took and executive room which was of the highest quality! The staff were always helpful and friendly ad the food both breakfast and or one dinner were delicious. Very nice clean rooms. Located close to the airport- but was a little difficult to find. Driveway leading to the hotel is one lane- so be careful if you drive to the hotel. Food at the hotel is not great.

Room was nice but bathroom was getting a bit dated, although viewed one of the new rooms before leaving and will definitely go back to these. Spa was lovely and quiet with a great swimming pool that was empty most of the time we were there. We ate at the hotel one night which […] was ok but not to our liking 6-7 out of 10. Food was presented well just nothing we could find on the menu. Looked like the chef was trying too hard instead of simplifying the meals. "NOT AN AIRPORT HOTEL"
THIS HOTEL IS VERY NICE BUT NOT NEAR EDINBURGH AIRPORT AS DESCRIBED ON THE WEBSITE. WE HAD HOPED TO GET OFF THE PLANE TIRED AND WEARY AFTER TRAVELLING AND CROSS ROAD TO A NEARBY HOTEL. WITH MORE TIME i WOULD HAVE LIKED TO ENJOY THE PLACE .

Beautiful hotel, while we were there they hosted 3 weddings in 2 days and at no stage were we "bothered" by drunken revellers! Gorgeous location, they could do with a hottub and caladarium in the spa but otherwise excellent. If getting a taxi from the airport advise him not to take the further entrance to the hotel - we paid twice as much getting there […] as getting back, in entirely different routes... Mehr

Hotel is absolutely beautiful staff friendly only issue was not with hotel but the location pain to get travel into Edinburgh taxi gets pretty expensive, Bus stop a little bit of a walk (especially in the rain & dangerous to cross over busy road)and Airport taxis gave attitudes because it is such a short distance from airport. We took 3 taxis from airport […] each amount different just a 5 minute ride we paid a much as 10 euro ouch. The grounds of Hotel are breathtaking. all & all we did enjoy our stay.
