Princess Royale Hotel & Conference Center - Ocean City

Overall, my college friends and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel had great service. Our room was cleaned daily and very well, and although most of the workers couldn't speak English, they were friendly. The hotel was right on the beach, so it was convenient to begin the day there. The only negative thing that I can think of is that it was a decent drive […] to the boardwalk. However, if you're trying to get away to spend some time on the beach at a fair price for a great hotel, I would suggest the Princess Royale Hotel. Mehr

My husband and I recently stayed at the Princess Royale for a long weekend. We loved the waterfront location, waitress service on the beach (for food & nonalcoholic drinks), indoor pool and jacuzzis. We also loved the kitchenette and temperpedic bed--we slept like babies! The only downside was the somewhat dated decor (very clean, but very 80s). Overall […] we would recommend this hotel to friends and would stay here again, but most likely in a non-pool view room as the chlorine smell makes it inconvenient to have the balcony door open or sit on the balcony for any length of time. I really enjoyed this hotel's location, right on the beach. Umbrella/chair service and outdoor bars right outside. Tempur-pedic beds were a pleasant surprise, very comfortable. We stayed on a weekend and it was still quiet at night, very family friendly.

Not a bad place but kind of getting outdated. If you looking to be close to the action this is not the place for you. Boardwalk is a couple miles away. Very close to the beach which is nice. The pools is pretty nice and so is the patio outside. There was live music everyday which was nice.

Hotel was nice, food was good, beach was beautiful. Enjoyed the comedy club and the seafood buffet was really reasonable. Room appeared to be updated and was very clean. Loved the Tempur-pedic mattress. Best of all, the staff went above-and-beyond for us. I accidentally left two cellphones in the drawer when we checked out, and I didn't realize it until […] we were 2 hours away. I called hotel and the front desk manager herself, Martesha, checked with housekeeping and found my phones. She arranged to package them and have them ready so I could have Fedex pick them up and deliver them to me. She emailed me to let me know when the shipment went out. She even emailed me again later to make sure I had received them okay. This is incredible when I consider how many guests they have and how busy they are. I give the staff 5 stars for taking care of us. I'll recommend the Princess Royale to everyone. We were celebrating out anniversary there and it was a very relaxing, fun and enjoyable weekend for my wife and I. Will definitely go there again. Mehr

this hotel is a flea bag. the rooms smelled, parking is terrable. stay somewhere else, spend the extra money to be at a nicer hotel.

We just returned from a three night stay at the Princess. While the room was clean, the hotel overall is need of a serious update. Exterior, carpets, and furniture were seriously worn/dated. The pool was in need of a major cleaning. It appeared that some residents of Ocean City were walking in and using the pool and hot tubs (hotel should ask to see […] room keys upon entry). Customer service was good - both at the main counter for check-in, as well as in the shops. The hotel is right on the beach, so that was convenient. However, you are at least a 15-20 minute drive from the Boardwalk and I didn't see any bus/train as some reviewers noted. I am rating this a 3 since our room was clean, customer service was fine, and we were right on the beach. Mehr

We only stayed one night. The front desk personel were very friendly. The lobby was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was clean but saw a stain on one unused bed (not sure what kind of stain). There was a shuttle bus to take us to the boardwalk.

Very nice hotel. Food in hotel not very good for price - little too pricey. Would recommend staying here.

The hotel's 2nd floor has direct access to the beach. It was kinda windy when we were there, so we were glad that there was an indoor pool as well as a sauna and hot tub!!! The hotel needs updating, as it seems to be stuck in the 80's. Overall, it was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Loved everything about this hotel. I think the rooms have been updated and aren't old school like other reviews stated. The beds were VERY comfortable and all the rooms have kitchens and 2 separate rooms, which is great for families or larger parties. Loved that this hotel has a great indoor pool, a few hot tubs, a restaurant, and it's own beach access. […] Would definitely stay here again! Mehr

I have stayed at this hotel several times, and will keep coming back!. The rooms are very clean, the beds appear to have been upgraded and they feel very luxurious! I ordered room service for dinner and breakfast, and the service and food was great! I also love the beach area, the outdoor/indoor bars, the staff treated me great.

i was only staying for one night, the hotel doesn't allow check in until 4:00pm and check out is at 11:00am, so the room and services were not work worth what i was chared. The beach bar was closed by the time i checked in at 5:00, which was extremely disappointing, since the weather was beautiful and i would have loved to just sit outside and relax […] by the beach with a cocktail. the room was very clean and i very much like the layout, the decor is a bit outdated, but still comfortable. Very beautiful Hotel with clean and spacious room. The ocean view was beautiful. Nice, quiet beach. Great restaurant, bar, and store in Hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

I was suprised. I thought it would just be a hotel room we were staying in,but it had a living room, almost complete kitchen and a large bedroom with a king size bed and sort of a patio view of the ocean. It was very clean, To be honest, we got in very late and left in the afternoon the next day to go stay with some friends 15 miles away, but the pool […] and the beach looked lovely. It felt like a resort sort of hotel. The weather happened to be very good and I wish we were staying longer and had the time to go to hang out, go to the beach and the pool, get a drink and just relax. Mehr

The hotel staff was courteous and made adjustments to my request efficiently. The Hotel is amazing in the decor especially for the cost. It is convenient to the beach but about 5 miles from the boardwalk but there is a shuttle bus that you can catch right out front so no worries on having to take your car out of their parking garage. spent two days in Ocean City for the "CRUISING" week. The Princess Royale was a nice, comfortable hotel to come back to for the night. It was quiet and the location to the beach and all the amenities of the hotel were great. We'd stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay, esp. the heated indoor pool and the close access to the beach. Hotel staff were very friendly. Beds were very comfortable and liked the size of the room so that we could spread out.

How disapointing can your trip be when you expect to get what you ask for! We only booked this hotel because if said it had handicap room which we booked but did not receive. Hotels like this should be ashamed that they do not have what they advertise!

If you still rock a Tom Selleck mustache this is your place. Hotel needs major update.

Overall, this hotel was great. I do have one complaint. My daughter left her FAVORITE stuffed animal behind in the room and we did not discover this until we made the two hour drive home. I called the hotel immediately (on the day we checked out) and left a message with the lost and found department. When I did not receive any return call three days […] later, I called the front desk. The front desk employee was helpful and took my information. She assured me that she would give the information to the Head of Security and request a return phone call. Nothing....I called again - one week after the day of check out and left my third message. Still waiting for a return call. I am disappointed with this end of the customer service. The room was clean and the location 5th floor was fine, but when I attempted to take a shower on Sunday night Jan. 16th-there was NO hot water. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary that night and we were planning to shower and get dressed for dinner. After several calls to the front desk and a COLD shower in a bathroom on the 1st […] floor, what a total bust for the evening. My husband was watching a football game and did not want to change rooms. I was very disappointed and went to dinner with no make-up and I did not get to wash my hair. Princess Royale needs to get a better engineer to regulate the water. Mehr

This is a nice place. I booked in off season and there was no crowd but we were placed in a side room with ocean view when we expected ocean front. It was not a big enough deal to change rooms since we were only there one night. When you come from the center of the US and want to hear the ocean all night, it is a let down. I'm sure they would have changed […] our room had I complained but I didn't want the hassle of moving after I had parked. Other than that, it was great and we had a good stay, no other complaints. Nice hotel. Beds were awesome. Sofa bed not too comfortable. Everyone was helpful and made sure we got everything we needed. Parking can be a bit troublesome. There was one night when no spots were available in parking garage. Overall very nice.

Loved it and will stay there again! We stayed in a room facing the street/side view of beach and it was nice and quiet. I would imagine the "pool view" would be a little loud.

When we booked, it said, "partial ocean view or pool view." I got a pool view, my sister a partial ocean view. The pool view came conveniently right next to the arcade AND the bar. It made for some less than quiet moments. I don't think I'd stay here again.

This hotel had a very dated decor and was set up as two buildings facing each other, so it was very hard to see the beach and you had to basically keep your curtains closed all the time so the other building and pool area couldn't see into your room.

need new carpets all over,the pool is very cloudy need a good cleaning, the jacuzzi the same lot of hair inside need a good cleaning.bed are comfortable the room was big and cleaned.

Perfect location. Close to beach and restaurants. Did not try on-sight restaurant, as we were warned before by friends and people met in elevator that it wasn't good. Did not see or hear any of the "activities" and/or contests, games or entertainment on the beach, as add boasted. There was a constant "food" (ie burnt chicken fat) smell in hall-ways […] that seeped into the rooms. The pool was VERY murky...could not see your hand in front of you. (EEWW). Mehr

For the cost of the room at booking time, the hotel was definitely not in line with expectations.
