The staff at the hotel were great! They were very accomodating!

Older Hotel. Air conditoning in room did not work well. Head boards on bed not attached to anything, so when moving when sleeping they banged off the walls waking you up. Staff pleasant, but for the condtion off the hotel, too expensive.

We had a nice stay and it met all of our expectations. The free breakfast vouchers were convenient and the food was excellent. I would stay here again if I'm back in town.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 3 children. The very first morning we had no hot water...I called and spoke with Steve at front desk. He told me he would bring a key to our room for my husband to shower. Fine. Well when he brought it to our room he became confrontational and when my husband tried to speak to him he ignored him and walked […] away. My husband got dressed and ready to go do the job he had for the day, he went to front desk to see what the problem was with Steve, he told my husband that he did NOT care what he had to say and that he was getting steamed. He walked away again and at this point it was rude. He was not professional at all. The manager was nice and changed our room for the trouble but, Steve is still there. So if you are going to stay there watch out for Steve he might get steamed if you complain about not having hot water. Mehr

The only problem we had was that the plumbing seemed to be sluggish. Water did not drain well in tub and toilet didn't seem to flush properly. We have found that is generally a problem in most older hotels. The bed was comfortable. TV was a little outdated but since we didn't watch it very long it wasn't a problem for us. We were very impressed with the hotel and the price was excellent.We were also surprised how quiet the other guests were.

Maybe it was because I booked on hotels.com, but the room they gave me was next to the external door (noisy) and next to the ice machine (noisy). Room was clean, up to date, comfortable.

This hotel was aweful. Not clean, moldy floors in bathroom, run down, a total mess and way overpriced for the quality of the room, The first night we were in a non-smoking room that reeked of cigarette smoke. Fortunately the hotel staff let us move our room for the second night, at least it didn't smell. The bathroom was moldy and the tub didn't drain. […] The air/ heat was loud and broken. Don't go here. You will be very disappointed. At least the staff was friendly. Mehr

Our account was charged for the 3 rooms we reserved immediately on making the reservation 1 month. in advance of our stay. A hot tub in the room was moldy around the drains. The last night of our stay a private party of teenagers was booked from 8:30 pm -11pm in the center room. This kept those of us in the surrounding rooms awake with the loud drums […] and vulgar language finally stopped. When we couldn't sleep and called to complain we were told it would end at 11pm. We needed to leave early the next morning for a 400 m. drive and were very irritated that we paid for room to sleep and were unable to go to sleep because they allowed a noisy group outside our patio doors. The first night was great, but the second night was horrible. Got back to room around 9:00 PM. There was a wedding reception going on in the court yard that went on till midnight,and the noise and flashing lights coming thru the sides of the curtian was very bad. Then after that, the cleaning team took over and had to put up with that noise for another […] hour or more. Never again will we go there........ Mehr

Arrived just after midnight, registration desk had a sign saying "will be right back." Yeah, 20 minutes later. Next night neither room key would work, again, front desk empty for 15 minutes this time. The entire building needs a massive rennovation. Ceiling tiles are crooked, dirty, all the outside lights filled with dead bugs. Paint chipping all over […] the place. Not a single free outlet anywhere near the desk or beds - had to plug in electronics near the bathroom. Free breakfast was disgusting. Possibly the worst part was that when I needed a replacement room key, the desk clerk (who was dressed like a housekeeper) didn't even ask for any identification or my name. I just gave her the room number and she gave me a new key. Could have been anyone's room. Unforgivable, will never use this hotel again. Mehr

Luckily we had my iPhone and were able to find a Non- Smoking room at the Ramada Inn in Altooona after stopping at several other locations. It was a lovely room freshly decorated as well as clean. And had a wonderful Sunday Buffet, which we were given a discount to enjoy, with stations for crispy waffles and omlets , also a dessert table that must have […] been 20 feet or more long. We had traveled to a family Reunion in Clarion County and because I have Parkinson's Disease and we are in our 70's we planned on spending a night each direction in a comfortable location. Two of our children had attended Bucknell University and we feel very comfortable in Lewisberg, but could not find a room available because of the International little League Finals Games. On the way to our Reunion we head to drive all the way to DuBois to find a room, so on our way home I suggested we drive to Altoona to avoid the congestion from the Little League, not realizing everyone is traveling at this time of the year, either on summer vacation or taking students back to their universities or home from camp. The Ramada Inn of Altoona was certainly a lovely surprise in the midst of our travel dilemma. It actually was better than home. And I am considering using the lovely colors and furniture arrangement that I enjoyed at this location which could have been the last Non Smoking room available in that town. My husband had gone as far as to go into the smoking rooms at other locations to see if we could tolerate them for the night. We were becoming weary, and were desperate to find a place to rest, even if we had to tolerate second hand smoke. I had no difficulty with getting my wheelchair through any door, and the bathroom was accessible to me with my wheelchair. Thanks to Hotels.com we had a very special location found for us and perhaps a place for Us to return to in our travels. Mehr

My room was on the same hallway as the pool, laundry and gym but I didn't hear a thing. Very quiet, clean and would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was amazing as well!

The room was OK, but the lights above bed did not work right. There was 2 lights and you could not keep 1 on, they would blink or go out, most of the time out. Reported to desk, telling them I thought it had a short. The WiFi only worked 2 times during the 5 night stay. Reported it to front desk in person, was told they were having problems but hoped […] to have it cleared up, when came back that night still not working. In this day there is no reason not to have problem fixed. The room was very clean. Over all the hotel is in need of major remodelling. Outside it looked like the landscapeing was not touched in years. I guess cigarette butts replaces mulch. The indoor pool was so cold I was looking for the Titanic, and the hot tub did not seem like it had any chemicals in it, did not stay in it long worried about germs. The breakfast in the dining area was very good. The stay over all was OK but I do feel the hotel is sucking money out and not putting any back in and that will not last long till people go elsewhere. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The only complaint I have is with the furniture in the room. There was no desk available even though there was an area of the room that was clearly designated for one. I had to do my work using the bed as my desk. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. I didn't eat […] there so I can't comment on the dining areas. Overall, I would stay there again as long as the price remains reasonable. Mehr

Friendly staff; last minute decision to spend the night and found the hotel to be very affordable and nice. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

all good, except air conditioning terrible. Maintainence did not correct after 3 request.

Our stay was "ok" - not overly impressed with the appearance of our room -vs- the cost per night. Room rate a bit pricey. Air conditioner in room vibrated/loud everytime it came on. Have stayed at better and less expensive places in the area.

The hotel itself looks as if its undergone some renovations. The room we stayed in had new paint, bedroom furniture, flat screen tv, and leather chair. The bathroom, however, hadn't been touched in the remodel/renovation. It was moldy/musty smelling, had no fan to run during a shower and wasn't very clean. Our room was right out from the vending and […] ice machines, which I would request for this not to happen again....it was very noisy thru the night. My only real concern with the hotel was that it was a secure hotel. What I mean by that was..any "John Doe" could walk into the hotel, down the hallways at any time of the day or night. You didn't need to use a key card to access any part of the hotel, except for your rooms. That was kind of a discomfort for me and my young kids. I was on a business trip and this place had non-smoking rooms available. It is an older hotel, but the pool and workout room was good and the shower was excellent - plenty of water, soaps were good, too; better than some of the newer places I have stayed.

All the personel was very attentive. They all were very helpful. The food was excelent. The only problem was that the aircondioner was very loud. and in the other two rooms they did not seem to be able to regulate it somewhat lower. Also the fan in the bathroom of room 134 did not work. Still we had a good time.

I did not want to stay at the Ramada, but my first choice was booked. The Ramada is in desperate need of a makeover -- the unfriendly staff, the run-down rooms and the tired facilities. I was actually afraid to touch certain things in the room, and I'm not the germaphotic type. Plus, the room was somewhat expensive for the Altoona area. Good location. Badly needs updating! Reservation for 5, get to the room, no cot and towels for three. No hot water the first night. Room so small could hardly get the cot open once they delivered it.

I always liked the Ramada in Altoona, but the atitude i felt was, "Sorry, we can't help you with this problem. You can go to another hotel.'

This is my second time in Altoona also in this hotel the person in the front desk were very polite the room were very clean, no noise in the hallway or slamming doors I slept like a baby. and what I like the most all the stores and restaurants just a few minutes from the hotel

I wormally stay at a Holiday Inn but their rates, locally, were higher that I normally would like to pay. The Ramada offered excellecent service, clean rooms and a nice complimentary breakfast, all at a reasonable price.

Very disappointed in this hotel. They almost accussed me of lying about reserving a non- smoking room. When my son pulled up our confirmation number on his phone is when they started looking for a non-smoking room. The shower handle did not turn on the water unless you played with it.Tthe remote control did not work properly, you had to get up to shutit […] off or put on the TV. There was no microwave in the room, like the ad said. The alarm clock did not light up so I had to put on the light to see the time. The pool was beautiful but had no lighting at nite except the light in the pool. The lobby was pretty but the rooms were definetly in need of repair. Very unsatisfied customer. Mehr

This hotel is by far the most complicated hotel I have ever had to find my way around in. It took us forever to find our rooms. The air conditioning did not work properly, I had it turned on high and the room was so warm I could nto sleep. I made coffee in my room and i had to clean the coffee pot first. There was literally coffee dried in the bottom […] of the pot. We were told online and over the phone with the hotel that they were booked and was told when we arrived there were more rooms... We chose the hotel because of a family event in the area. The place is getting a bit run down. Could stand some updating.

Great hotel, fantastic pool and hot tub area. Clean, large rooms. Very friendly staff. Wouldnstay again. Dated, but has a charm.

We have stayed here before and had a beautiful room. This time we stayed, the room was not good at all. There was black on the wall that looked like mold, the bed was hard and the carpet felt dirty. The hallways smelt like cigarette smoke. I know that they are undergoing construction but this was a little overboard for the price we paid.

The hotel was easy to find, there was plenty of parking right up front. It was on a busy strip with every imaginable restaurant and store in sight. It was a stone's throw away from a mall. The lobby was open and welcoming. I knew right where to go to check in. Someone assisted me right away, with no wait. The room was gorgeous. Perfectly clean, with […] a huge floor to ceiling window that lit the place up. The king-sized bed was more comfortable than my bed at home, and there was a good-sized flat screen tv, which I did not expect. I also did not expect the comfy chair, the nice desk chair, the large desk, and the area between the bedroom and the bathroom. The indoor pool was big, clean and great to swim in. I loved the little 1 foot deep kiddie pool, and the spa! The complimentary breakfast was great, and had a nice setting in the tropical lounge, which had beach sand, tropical type topiary and fountains. My only complaint was that the cleaning/room service people came early for me. Something like 9 am. Not that I sleep in super late, but I wasn't out of my room by that hour. I found that inconvenient. Noon would have been much better. Other than that, I loved it, and highly recommend it. Mehr

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Our room was around back, dimly lit parking lot. The bed was not very comfortable at all. It has potential once the renovations are complete, but I won't be staying there again.

We only had 2 bath towels in our room. My husband took a shower when we arrived before going out to dinner and then in the morning, when I went for my shower I noticed NO CLEAN TOWEL. I didn't have time to call front desk and wait for a fresh towel. There was NO VENT IN BATHROOM! Even the rubber mat in front of the D door needed replaced, the rubber […] tips were worn off. The carpets were dirty, the elevator had a broken overhead panel. Just not what we expect. Mehr

It was a nice hotel and right next to all the nice places to eat and every thing we needed was less then a mile away, and it was only about 15 min away from Del Grosso's amusement park.

the cost was a lot for Altoona PA

The hotel is undergoing updating-it looks very much like 1970 but the new look is more typical of current hotels in this price range. Upon arrival on a very hot day, the AC wasn't working well in our room .When we reported it to the front desk, the clerk offered to call the maintenance dept. When there was no response, we asked for a change of room.She […] reassigned us. However, it would have been nice if she had offered to do so immediately. We did not expect breakfast but were given a voucher at check-in for a choice of a full service breakfast served in the new atrium dining area-a pleasant surprise which made it an even better value. The nicest part of the stay was the people. Nice friendly people at the front desk and nice people in the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast. The food was fine. I wouldn't call it outstanding, but it was fine. Overall, we were quite satisfied.
