We - two retired persons of indefinite age- stayed recently in the Affinia for 5 days. the hotel/suites are really very suitable fo ra short stay in chicgo - very centrally located, just of the Magnificent Mile, with its shops and restaurants. Service from staff we encountered was excellent, always helpful. Room( junior suite) very spacious with a sitting […] area. no cooking/kitchen facilities, though and this might have been appreciated. Becuase of its situation, next to a major hospital, and traffic, there was a fair amount of noise - even on the 17th floor. But this was tolerable. No restaurant for brekky, and we found bar prices to be on the high side. but would stay again and recommend it, especially given its good price.. Mehr

We liked this hotel before Affinia took it over and thought we booked it for a steal last weekend. Turns out it was a good value, but not an outstanding one, mostly because the facilities themselves were somewhat tired. A few nice touches like the pillow menu and a comfrotable bed helped make up for minor ceiling damage, balky pipes, and bathroom wallpaper […] that looked like red metallic wrapping paper. But the price was good and the location right by the Water Tower Place cannot be beat. Mehr

This hotel is located right off of Michigan Avenue in the heart of shopping. Easy to catch a cab at anytime. Hotel also has a very trendy penthouse bar with excellent views of the city.

Great Hotel, Great location, great staff, 1 small problem, you can hear the sirens from the hospital next door all night.

Whenever possible I like to stay at the Affinia Hotel when I'm in Chicago for business or pleasure. The rooms (especially the beds) are very comfortable. It's a small hotel so the staff recognizes you when you come and go. The location is 1/2 a block from Michigan Avenue and close to dozens of great places to eat and shop. I highly recommend it.

Great location, very centric to everywhere in the city! Rooms and hotel clean, and excelent service! The people was very friendly! No questions, I will be back!

Really great location and very well kept, the service was exceptional. The only disadvantage is the parking garage which is incredibly expensive!

I was in town to see DIAMANDA GALAS at the Museum of Contemporary Art and wanted a close hotel. Beautiful views from the eighth floor suite , and a 24 hour Walgreens on the corner for groceries . Helpful staff and close proximity to swanky stores such as Tiffany&Co. and Nieman Marcus.

very nice hotel only steps away from Michigan Ave. Never even had to drive anywhere because everything was in walking distance. Only problem was that the room only had a queen size bed. At a hotel I prefer a king sized. The mini bar wasn't that expensive either.

I highly recommend this hotel for first time Chicago goers! Very nice, very clean, and very close to famous tourist attractions. Only thing I would complain about is the comfort of our bed. It wasn't too bad but it wasn't as comfortable as I'd hope it would be after a long day of walking; it was a little stiff. Great hotel for a one night stay while we were en route to a Florida vacation. We loved the exercise room, cocktail lounge with a great view of the city at night and could walk to almost anything. We had lunch there and walked to the Hyatt for dinner, dining at NoMi. A great hotel for the price and we definitely will be back! Sandy (Minnesota)

The Affinia in Chicago is a very good hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean. The location in relation couldn't be better. There is a parking ramp right across the street ($42 a day). We have stayed here before and would rate that stay much higher then this one. Our room this time was on the 4th floor and garbage and delivery trucks started pounding […] at 4am and never stopped. It sounded like they were in our room. We didn't have this the last time we stayed here so I guess it's the luck of the draw??? We would stay here again....but would investagate how to get a quiet room next time. Mehr

1. skip the hotel breakfast. they charge 15$ for nothing. 2 blocks away there is a nice coffe place with much value to your money. 2. in hotels upper floors there is a good chance for free WiFi connection overall, great rooms, lovely stuff. surely will return there

The room was very tastefully decorated. The desk staff was outstanding--friendly and very service-minded; gave us an excellent recommendation for breakfast nearby--even though the hotel has a lovely restaurant. Great location near Water Tower. We visit Chicago often and we will stay there again!

Excellence overall, perfect location, perfect staff, a real enhancement to the city of Chicago.

Beautiful hotel close to shopping, etc Great service and good rates.

We were very pleased with our room. The staff was pleasant and the car was delivered very quickly when we wanted to go out. If one wants to get onto Lake Shore Drive, just drive up (it is oneway) Superior to a tunnel that allows you to get on going north. Check at the desk. Great place to stay - especially if you want to shop downtown.

Close to good food and downtown shopping. The room was very nice and spacious...loved the shower. The hotel was very clean, which is a MUST for me to stay. However our room was on the forth floor and faced the back alley. It was very noisy during the night and early morning because of all the deliveries from trucks. Would stay there again, but would […] request a room opposite of the alley. Also, parking was very expensive at $49.00 a night. This was not mentioned when we booked it. Mehr

Hotel is right off the Mag Mile and in walking distance to several attractions. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. We were traveling with our baby so the staff gave us an upgrade so we'd have more space. The room was wonderful and very clean. We had a great view of the Prudential Building. Highly recommended. I took advantage of the 50% off deal on hotels.com, I soon learned that you get what you pay for. My room was located directly next door to the fitness center which was not very bothersome until about 5am when I heard the machines and weights. I also found upon entrance to the room that the window did not shut fully and with the 30 degree weather and […] wind, it made for a a cold and noisy night. To top it all off, the something on the roof was constantly banging on the ceiling of my room as the wind blew, it sounded like a jack hammer or sorts. Finally, at 6am after little sleep I called the front desk and told them of the untenable situation. They immediately offered me a free breakfast which was an absurd offer, since I was more interested in being able to sleep rather than get a hotel breakfast for free. An employee from the front desk came to the room and agreed the noise was unacceptable and moved me to a different room. I noticed that features were present in the new room that were absent in the other room such as a safe, windows that fully closed, and wifi that actually worked in that location. In sum, I am thankful that they switched my rooms but I truly feel that others should be skeptical when it comes to half off deals. Mehr

I was staying in Chicago for 3 day training program and found this hotel at a rate lower than group rate at sponsoring facility. Nice location, right off Michigan Ave.

We had a newly renovated room over the main street. A clean, spacious and comfy hotel in walking distance of most tourist locations. The hotel also do walking tour guides for ipod to help you out. The view of the city at sunset from the roof bar was great. The only reason we didn't give 5 all down is the heating system was noisy, it is a really minor […] point. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, helpful staff and comfortable room. I would definitely stay again.

My flight arrived early and I was hoping to drop off my bags at the hotel and come back when it was time to check in. The front desk clerk looked and saw that there was a room available and let me check in early. My room was huge - not a great view but it didn't bother me a bit. I'll recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fantastic hotel, unbelievably central, right in the middle of downtown Chicago. 50 steps from the magnificant mile (Michegan Ave). Staff are really friendly.

Clean, modern, comfortable. Great staff, good location for city sights.

This is an excellent hotel. The location is fantastic just off Michigan Avenue close to all the shops, pick up points for tours and you can easily walk a bit further down town in to the Loop. Hotel staff were lovely we didn't experience any problems at all. The room was lovely and spacious and the bed was the best I have ever slept in! Room was clean […] and really comfy. Only downside was our view from the room however we could still see the John Hancock Tower and it really didn't bother us. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again! Stayed in the hotel for five nights in September. Had a junior suite which was huge. Staff were excellent, bar on 29th floor well worth a visit for the view and service, excellent local advice from the bar man. Location was perfect for night life, close to bars and restaurants. On days everything was within walking distance or a short cab ride. No issues […] with the reported noise as stated by others. Would love to return! Mehr

This hotel was just wonderful. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile, and everyone on staff was just fantastic. The room was clean and well appointed and the view from the 26th floor - wow! I am fussy and picky. This hotel was lovely. The only negative is that parking @ the hotel is offensively expensive on top of an already pricey hotel. Otherwise, it was great.

Ok, let's be frank. Affinia is not the grandest of hotels near the Magnificent Mile but for its central location it is very affordable, and highly recommendable. The rooms are clean, spacious and enjoyable. The resturant is nothing to write home about and I would suggest you visit some ot the more well known hotels in the area for both breakfast and […] dinner. The staff is friendly but expect nothing out of the ordinary. Just next door you have Ginos Pizza, one of the better pizza places in Chicago - well worth a visit. It annoyed me to no end that Affinia did not supply free wi-fi as most of the malls, hotels and stores do so. In summary I would definitely recommend Affinia as a place to stay in Chicago and chances are that I will come back. Mehr

Just back from week in the Affinia Hotel. Would recommend the hotel great location. Everything in walking distance. Clean room with all mod cons.Friendly staff.Could have lie in and no hassle from room services. Would stay in Hotel again.
