We were very pleased with the Hotel. We read a few reviews, and were not sure what to expect. However, we spent two nights and were pleased. Elevators were not slow, staff were helpful, and location was nice. Parking in the lot next door was costly. We only used the subway once, and walked the rest of the time.(2 Blue Jays games). We would book this […] Hotel in the future. For the guys, a two floor Canadian Tire a block away, and for the Gals, The Eaton Center, 3 blocks away. You won't be disappointed! Mehr

Great location, dirty rooms. Checked in nice room. Toilet was not flushed on clean. Called desk Boone cared or offered suggestionor solution. It will be my last stay.

The location was nice and the designs are very contemporary and sleek. The shower was not as clean as we would have hoped and the bed and couch in our suite were fashionable but not the most comfortable. We put the tag on the door to tidy up the room at about 9:30am when we left the hotel and it was never cleaned that day. It wasn't a big deal for us, […] but I expected that it would have been done if requestd. Wonderful view though and walkable distance to everywhere we wanted to go. We did have an issue at checkout in which they used the incorrect card on file to charge the remainder of our stay. This caused some problems and is mainly the reason for my overall rating. Mehr

Overall my stay was acceptable. I checked in later in the evening but had to wait close to half an hour to get a room as it wasn't ready. That I found a bit annoying considering the room was prepaid and they had more than enough time to have it ready. The cleaning lady almost walked in on me naked had I not put on the door latch. Checkout was at 12pm […] but she was at my door at 10 am. Mehr

Centrally located in downtown Toronto; rooms are relatively small and although fittings are a bit dated, everything is in good working order. Free Wi-Fi is good and pretty fast. Guests are given a voucher which brings the breakfast buffet price to a reasonable level. Buffet is rich and very nicely presented.

Housekeeping had left 2 conditioners instead of shampoo and conditioner. I asked for shampoo and they delivered a whole handful of little shampoo bottles.

My husband and I spent one night at the Metropolitan. The location was perfect for walking everywhere and seeing a lot of the cities downtown attractions. The first impression where good and the staff is friendly. The room was clean and comfortable but the decor is slightly dated. We used the pool/sauna the fallowing morning. The change rooms are clean […] and spacious. The pool is average but the sauna and the hot tub where disappointing. The sauna is on a timer but never really got hot enough to sweat. The whirlpool was deep but had a weird smell. Over all our experience was good and we will stay here again. Mehr

It was very difficult to park in the under ground parking .Very tight

Another good stay here. Convenient access to shopping at Eaton Centre and Yonge subway line to get around the city in minutes. Parking lot is dangerously tight to drive and park. Small maintenance issue in room, front desk was happy to address. Room and lobby both very clean and comfortable. Check-in and out were both easy.

Booked a king size bed only git queen. Room was very small and very outdayed...1980 twlevision set! At least the view was nice fro the 24th floor.

The Met offered a quality stay for te best price Downtown. hotel was close o Eaton Center.

Very friendly service. Husband had flu and Kitchen warmed up some chicken noodle soup (bought outside hotel) without any questions or sighing. Loved the fact that they had windows that opened to get fresh air especially for sleeping. Decor was quite nice. Location was fantastic. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

Great location for the tower, and easy access for subway to casa loma. museum. Nice place good value for the area.

This was my first time at this hotel. It was a perfect location minutes from the Eaton Centre! Service was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and cozy!! Had a fabulous stay!!

The hotel was dated, but service was friendly and faultless. Location was excellent for us as we needed to use bus terminal. Appreciate the kind maintenance crewman who gave us a power adapter with no expectation of return.

Clean,efficient, perfect location. The room is a little small but well equipped. The staff both at the front desk and in house restaurants are courteous and knowledgeable. Most important compared to other Hotels in the same grid the price is right.

When we booked our room, we were told it was a "luxury" room. Nothing about the room was luxurious. It was just a standard room. I feel a little let down about that, When we did arrive for early check in we had to wait 45 minutes for our room, when we went to use the hotle restrooms during this period of time they were disgusting!!! There was an alarm […] going off, from what sounded like the elevators at 4 am for a while, which made it hard to sleep. Mehr

The room is nice and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. If I were to return to Toronto, I will stay in this hotel. The surrounding, unlike downtown, is not too busy.

For all you smoking travellers out there it is hard to find a hotel that allows smoking in the rooms any more. The Metropolitan does reserve about 10 percent of the rooms for people who wish to smoke in the room, which I was happy to hear. Unfortunately, the window in the room only opens about 2 inches and the entire interior was stained permenantly […] brown. I found the smell of stale smoke worse than I ever remember from the days when smoking was commonplace in hotels. So I leave it up to you, if you can hold out between cravings, get a non-smoking room. Mehr

The staff at Metropolitan Hotel were all very nice. They gave me detailed information about where and when I should be waiting for the airport shuttle. The breakfast buffet was also good; everyone there too was very polite and pleasant.

The hotel was in a decent location, and was clean enough, however we did not get to enjoy our stay. From 5 am on the fire alarm went off ever half hour. They admitted that it was continuously a false alarm, but when we checked out in the morning exhausted for a ten hour drive that day they refused to even comp our parking for the night. The receptionist […] was rude and not at all sorry for the inconvenience the alarms had caused us. She also said that this happened all the time and they never compensate for any inconvenience. Mehr

Hotel & Restaurant staff were A+. Room was small & not as "fresh" as I like. Cost was very inexpensive, location was perfect. I would stay there again.

The hotel itself was neat and nice but the room was too small. The room practically ended where the bed ended! And the bed was really, really uncomfortable. Too springy and it made all kinds of squeaky sounds. The hotel staff were friendly. I called in earlier to request for a refrigerator in the room since we have an infant and they were kind enough […] to oblige and have it ready before we checked in. Mehr

Close to downtown core. Reasonably priced for the area and great restuarants in the hotel.

our stay here at the metropolitan hotel in toronto (chestnut st) was absolutely fantastic. I would definetly stay again and recommend this to anyone. great location, pool/hottub was very relaxing. over all cleaniness was a five star. Thanks again. John/Vicki

Check in went smoothly. I found it easier to check out personally than via TV. Staff were attentive and consistent in their answers as to how long I could park indoors without additional expense after check-out. [could stay until 3 p.m.] Only complaint is that the Hotel still has old style TVs, but t he reception was good. Restaurant very good.. Short […] walk to Transit system and Eaton Centre or if visiting in hospitals. Mehr

Was very small, outdated and a little dirty. The lamp did not work and there was no ceiling light. I would not stay here again.

Great hotel, very friendly staff, lovely room. The one thing that definitely needs improving though is the wifi. I'll definitely be staying here again for my next visit

The room looks nothing like the pictures on their website. Everything looked 30 years old and run down. Even the TV hasn't been updated to LCD TVs like all the other hotels. It was also very small. The wood doors, frames and headboard looked as if they were dipped in shelac. This hotel needs a complete renovation of its rooms to be able to compete. So.. yeah. Christian. I don't know who you are; but, your girlfriend seemed realllyyyyy upset, what with the crying and the screaming and the shrill cries that you come back/just stop. This was about... oh.. 3:30 in the morning till about 5? Started out with some sort of blown up argument in their room and ended up in the hall where security was desperately […] trying to get this guy out of the hotel while he was being belligerent. This isn't a bad review! We called down, and reception let us know that they already had somebody on it. PROPS security guy, I wouldn't want to deal with that. Hotel had no control over it, and I get that the doors are kinda thin. They have to be, since indoor doors, in order to open, aren't soundproof. Without a word we were comped about $30 on our stay. Stuff like this happens, and they dealt with it. Other notes: reception was a bit cold, but I suspect she was having a terrible day. I did my best to make her laugh to no avail. Decor is.. weird. It's like... Japanese modern in the lobby and then bed&breakfast florals in the rooms. But everything was super clean, water pressure was good, beds/pillows were soft, and the AC/heat worked perfectly. I'd stay here again, but probably not at full price. And unknown girlfriend of Christian? - you guys should probably break up. You deserve better. Mehr

The bed pillows were all too large and too hard. Other than that, great location, price good.

The metropolitan hotel was very classy and clean we got the luxery room the best thing about it was the bed,it was massive and super comfortable but the room accesories were out of date no flat screen tv, washroom was small but clean and had more then enough fresh towels which was great, the location is the very best part because if you do get bored […] you can walk 3 min to the eaton centre and amc thearters Mehr

Easy access by car or transit, convenient and safe parking, nice lobby, beautiful and clean room. Plenty of towels, soaps, etc. TV was great. Bed was extremely comfortable - nicest pillow I've ever slept on! Easy check-in and check-out. Not a single negative, tons of positives. Others I know stay there regularly, too.

Front desk refused my credit card...ambarassed I used another one but couldn't understand why. I called the credit card company and they told me that the reception at front desk had used the wrong expiry date...I was not a happy person!

THe room was clean. Decor and bath in need of updating. No mini bar which was inconvenient. Bed was very comfortable. Check in and out easy. Good hotel if you just need aplace to crash.

Were able to check in super early, the porter was friendly and extremely informative. Couldn't say anything bad about the place, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Eaton Center and Shows..and that in the middle of winter. Perfect!

This is the 3rd time I have stayed in this hotel. I love this place!
