Quality Inn Airport SeaWorld Area - San Diego

Exactly like my title reads. This place hasn't seen Quality since 1987. Place is out dated, rooms are musty like an old pair socks. The so called bay view is a laugh. No bay in sight unless i used a telescope. Way over priced for the hotel. Much nicer updated hotels within blocks , stay there instead. Unless you like over weight sloppy hookers , then […] yeah this is your place. There is a bar attached to the hotel downstairs. So a bunch of rift raft loitering around the hotel... Id rather of slept in a tent on the side of the freeway !!!! Mehr

Wors hotel, I have ever stayed at. Not at all comfortable, and there is a bar/club on lobby level which blasted music to the 4th floor all night, not to mention the parking here was a joke. Complete waste of money.

I must start by saying that the staff of the hotel did the best job they could considering the conditions they are forced to deal with. Our 1st night was a disaster! We barely got any sleep because there is a Bar connected to the hotel that has very old and not so insulated walls. We could feel every thump of the base player from every band that played […] until almost 2am in the morning. All the smokers’ hangout outside the place so we could hear all of their conversations and fights until well after closing. After the 1st night we insisted on being moved to the opposite side of the hotel, which the staff did for us. I felt a little bad for the manager because when we went to submit our complaint we had to stand in line. The second night we unfortunately were located right next to the ice machine which also seemed to be the place people liked to stop and have water cooler talk and we could hear every word. What was worse than that was someone across from us decided to throw a party in their room and invite I guess the entire bar up to their room a very scary looking crowd. I am not sure how the staff did not notice thirty plus people constantly going up and down the elevator. I had to call the front desk and they sent someone up which was kind of funny to watch because the person was greeted by two very large men as they were walking out and they did look very intimidating. He went up to the door and got ready to knock and then put his ear to the door to listen and I guess that freaked him out enough to decide maybe he should not deal with it on his own. About 10 minutes later he returned with 3 good size police officers to break it up. The bad part for us was people kept showing up until about 3 in the morning to be disappointed that the party was broke up. All of them were very loud and obnoxious. So that was our Friday and Saturday night. Sunday was a little more calm we only had to deal with the vibrations of the base from the bar until about 1am. So if you are goi Mehr

Their website states they have a complimentary continental breakfast however they do not. It was one of the prime reasons I chose this hotel because we had 6 children with us. Another minus would have to be the bar attached to the hotel. They played music until the wee hours of the morning. Very disappointed with this hotel!

We had a mini suite and it was like an apartment. It was my two boys, my husband and I. We had the second TV in the living room which the boys could watch something different from us. We felt like we had room to walk around. Since it rained the weekend that we were there, it wasn't like we were cooped up. I will never return to this hotel. They didn't mention the loud bands that play at night which keeps you awake until all hours of the morning. Not a good experience.

The hotel itself was ok, but the area and surroundings were horrible!!! I could not sleep because of the loudness of the bar located in the same parking lot. on several when I did manage to fall asleep, I would wake up to screaming people in the parking lot cursing and running after others... At almost 2:00am I woke up to 6 cop cars in front of my window. […] I did not feel at all safe with my two young daughters. Enjoyed hotel stay, very well kept hotel. Staff very helpful and responded to request in a timely manner. Room suites are very large it accomdate me and my children (5) very comfortablely. Old town and other major venues are accessible.

I only had five hours to catch some quick shut eye, so I guess it is a good thing I couldn't get the "FreeWiFi" working. The cleanliness was okay but overall maintenance was marginal. It is a good thing I always travel with earplugs: I was on the third floor on the end opposite the lounge, but I could hear the music thumping in my room rather clearly. […] Overall, too much to pay for a flop house. The hotel is in poor condition and they double-billed us. I had to phone them to remove their charge. You should drop this hotel from your sponsorship.

Hotel surroundings are dangerous and full of low life individuals. There is a shady bar next door and there is no airport shuttle service. Had to take a cab. Saty away from this HELL HOLE!

No internet access in the room, despite there supposedly being free access. The HUGE dance party downstairs saw no car parking and beer thrown over my car, then the church service with kids running around in the car park made it very hard to deal with finding parking, or even getting out of the car! The management did NOTHING about it. Terrible!!

The hotel was fine however the staff failed to mention the nightclub that played loud music until 2am. We were on the 5th floor and the music was so loud that it vibrated the floor. Also after the club closed, the attendees were just as loud while leaving. I got no sleep which defeated the purpose of staying in the the night before travel.

It'snot a family freindly, if you have children with you forget it. The A/C not working properly and TV volume goes off by itself. It's the worst hotel i've been.

This hotel was something else. The check-in staff is pretty rude. The room we had originally booked was said not to be available and was given another. We tried booking another day stay; they made it so difficult. Didn't honor our AAA discount and locked us out of our room. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I rather invest an extra 20$$ on the […] hotel net door. I can go on and on but I will leave it at that. Cleaning lady was very nice. I think that is the best service the hotel has to offer. Mehr

when you walk in the furniture IS old the mattress is old it smells i woke UP with a rash at 4am i went take a shower found( hair in shower), i went to manger and left ,,,,,STAY AWAY

There is a "nightclub" attached to this hotel, which was a big "noisemaker" and a locals hangout. The parking lot was filled with cars as well as people hanging out near vehicles...in the hotel main lot/the neighboring lot and the underground parking. we had difficulty finding spaces to park and found people leaning on/hanging around our car. Our room […] was on the front of the building with the club down 2 levels and we heard the DJ and music/bass late into the night Fri/Sat. The bed was stiff, there was no fridge/microwave or clock in the room. I wouldn't stay here again, very dissapointed considering we paid hefty prices for the peak time and short notice booking..someone at checkin paid half what we did. Felt ripped off for what we experienced. Try another hotel without a club attached. Unless you are down to P-A-R-T-Y! Mehr

The rooms were very nice, but the condition of the paint jobs in the hallways, doors and behind the entry counter were very tacky. Parking was a joke. Because there is a bar in the same bldg, you have to hope for parking, and then you have to pay for it, just because its on their property. Underground available, if your lucky. Standing at the counter, […] you could smell familiar substances (pot) coming from the people standing around outside, This is very offensive to many people. So, i found a pubic hair in my bed, no phone in room, no towels, and the pool was closed due to health-code violations! The front dest people were rude and we paid more here than at any other hotel including the Mirage in Vegas! I will never stay at this hotel again!

This hotel had the ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE of any place I have ever stayed. When we parked to check in about 8:30 pm, a woman sitting on a planter wall in the parking lot said "Are you checking in"? It was creepy because I wondered why she was asking, maybe a homeless person looking for a room to share, who knows. I proceeded to the lobby; no one was […] there. The woman from the parking lot walked in and said "I'm here" We had requested a refrigerator when making reservation and told we had to make the request at check in time. I did so and she said she could not move the refrigerator by herself. When I asked about ice, she said there was one ice machine on the 5th floor and it had no ice-what???!!!. She was rude and not apologetic at all. AWFUL, AWFUL SERVICE AND RUDENESS, WITH A BIT OF CREEPINESS THROWN IN!! Mehr

the room was very comfortable and roomy. my kids loved the pool and spa. the hotel is very close to many attractions. all in all, we had a great experience at quality inn.( other than the free continental breakfast, which was less than desirable, but its free, so why complain?)

The overall condition of the property was dirty, old and run down. The shower head was so filthy I didn't even want to use the bathroom. My room was far enough away from the bar that had loud music playing until late, but the pool was directly under the window so we had to contend with the foul mouthed college kids getting beligerant. The elevator was […] broken and checkout was a hassle. The internet available in the lobby was not free and if you get to the continental breakfast after 8 forget about even using the toaster. I almost forgot about the fire alarm at 5:30 am... Mehr

Room was clean but beds were old and uncomfortable. Halls were shabby and doors needed repainting but no other obvious flaws. Near a couple of busy roads and truck noise was constant. Nice having parking convenient under hotel.

The Quality Inn is clean and it has a bed, but there are other places in the area that I would check out before coming back here. The staff is not very interested in helping. The continental breakfast won't make you sick but you can find better and the bar stays loud and the walls are shaking until about 2 a.m.

Hotel is run down and extremely noisy. The window are single paned so every jet that flys by sounds as if you are on the runway. The club downstairs is very loud. We were on the 3rd floor and our room was pulsating from the the music. Although the hotel cannot control the patrons, the patrons who where staying in the hotel did not think it rude to knock […] on sleeping guests doors at 3 a.m. all the way down the hall. And talk at stadium level voices. More a reflection on the type of guests that stay there than management. Nonetheless, mad for a very bad experience. We arrived at 130pm they told us check in time wasnt until 3 and we would have to come back because they did not have the staff available to check us in. So our room was ready, just no one available to actually check us in. And, they never told us we had to PAY for parking...$7 for crappy parking. We have stayed at many hotels in San Diego and this […] was the worst and not even the cheapest. And it was the ONLY one that we have ever had to pay for parking at. I was not impressed with the hotel it was not kept up. The room smelled and it was not very clean.

Very good location near the airport and only 15 minutes away from mission beach. Breakfast was late and they charge for internet access but other than that good service.

Considering the price we paid, this was worth it. If we had to pay much more, we would have moved to a nicer hotel. The room was a little tight, but we only stayed the night there and then went about our way during the day. So, it served it's purpose. The breakfast was hardly worth it. Not worth the money. The hotel is very outdated. Elevator stopped working several times. Bar inside the hotel was very loud and the room needed some serious cleaning.

I read the reviews before booking. I stayed here last year. I see great improvement in the attitude of the staff as well as the fact that they have replaced the very flat pillows. Because I am handicapped, I was given complimentary parking. I also noticed that the pool and spa was being serviced. Last time I was afraid to get into the spa because of […] all of the foam. The only problems that I encountered was getting into my room. The key had to be replaced 3 times. I was unable to get any hot water to come from the shower head. This hotel is run down and tired to say the least. We were on the 5th floor on a Sunday and Monday nights so the bar down stairs really wasn't an issue as far as noise like some of the other reviews mention but the beds were as hard as rocks and the pillows were the size of throw pillows so that made it difficult to sleep. All the walls are really dark. […] The air conditioner just made the room feel humid. The elevator and halls had a very strong sewage odor. Everything looks dark and dingy. Paying additional to pay to park is really not right. I would have paid $5 more a night for a much better motel with free parking. Just a dirty trick...not to mention we had 2 cars so had to pay $14 per night. Then they had tour buses bringing in people. Since they all had to leave at the same time it was impossible to get into the breakfast room before 9am when it ended. Just an awful place to stay. I would never stay here again unless there was NO vacancy at any other motel/hotel available. They have tried to upgrade the rooms with flat screen TV's but it just cant make up for everything else. This was an overnight business trip. I have stayed in numerous Quality Inns and was disappointed in the condition of this hotel. The fire alarm kept going off. The last time was after 11 p.m. I grabbed my computer and left the room twice. I believe my room was one that is normally booked for travellers with pets. There was a definite odor to the carpet […] and some fairly suspicious stains. The wireless connection did not work--although the wired option was fine. In the morning, there was no one at the front desk. I waited over 5 minutes but since I needed to get to work, I left my key on the desk and left. Although this hotel is conveniently located, I definitely would not stay again. Mehr

the pillows were the worst, we were up all night. they had small square pillows instead of the traditional and let me tell you they were horrible.

The hotel staff was very friendly. We made good use of the cab facility offered by the hotel. If possible, try to get rooms above the 3rd floor since the bar on the 1st can be loud at night. Room on the 5th floor was neat and promptly cleaned everyday. The airconditioner was a little weird in that it makes random noises in the middle of the night. Kind […] of a snore in the background. Definitely spoils the sleep of people who remain alert while sleeping. The location of the hotel is good with a lot of fast food restaurants around the place. No fine dining within walking distance though. Public transport options are poor. You need a car/cab to get to and away from here. Morning complementary breakfast was the normal fare (cereals & muffins), with doors open till 9 AM. The male receptionist was very knowledgeable in suggesting places to see around San Diego, which we found very helpful. The hotel's cab drivers were extremely friendly guys. If you can get a room above the 3rd level and manage with the slightly noisy airconditioner, this is a good budget hotel to stay in. Hotel should decide if it wants to be a biker bar or a family hotel. A bar on the first floor kept us up all night between the music and motorcycles making noise. Parking lot so full of bar people standing around I could hardly get into the parking garage. We watched a fight in the parking lot from our hotel room. It is in a good area in proximity to the airport. However, it says that it is near sea world when it really is about 15 minutes away.

This hotel was absolutely awful. Everyday there was a problem. When I first arrived, there was no television in my room and I had to waste 2 hours of my time waiting for maintenance to install it. Then, the room service only switched out a few towels and made the bed. There was still trash left in the trash cans and the restroom was not cleaned at all. […] The room reaked of cigarettes and it is a non smoking hotel. They also charged my credit card a 28.00 fee for staying at the hotel even when they told me that it would be a "hold" in case I messed up the hotel room. They didn't tell me they charged me until I left the hotel and I had to call and speak with the manager once I found out. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I had the worst customer service, and they do not care about the well being of their guests. Mehr

clean room, friendly staff, located near bases and between Zoo and Seaworld. there is a restraunt/bar on the bottom floor that seemed like a happening joint.

over all the hotel was good.Beds were comfortablestaff was really friendly. the only problem was the noise from the bar on 1st floor.(we stayed on the 4th floor)out of the 4 nights we stayed there was only 1 night that was quite; and we stayed sunday-thursday. ok if you don't have kids.

the hot tub needed to be cleaned but the room was nice and the breakfast was good. i would stay again and reccomend it top a friend.

Our room was on the San Diego Bay side of the hotel,we had a great view of down town, Coronado and San Diego Bay.

Tyvärr var restaurangen under renovering så det blev äta frukost ute. Bra läge oavsett om man ska till Seaworld, centrala San Diego eller en tur till La Jolla. Bra rum för det priset - vi valde att förlänga vår vistelse på hotellet med ytterligare nätter. Poolen skulle behöva lite översyn.
