It was certainly good enough for the purpose I was there; a weekend in the South Pasadena area. Rooms on the north side can still hear the 60 freeway all night long; if one is sensitive to that, request a room away from the noise (it was a low, but constant rumble).

Hotel and staff were really nice. Everything was clean and well maintained. The bar staff were awesome, and the dinner specials were very inexpensive for tons of food. We stayed there when we went to the 2012 Rose Bowl, and our only issue was the front desk staff's directions to the stadium. We were told it was only about a 20 minute commute, and it […] took nearly 2 hours. It wasn't a problem, but had we known, we would have left much earlier. Mehr

This is our 2nd time staying here (1st time was a year ago), however, perhaps we were checking-in late this time for 2 rooms at DoubleTree, we had been assigned to 2 rooms that seems pretty clean and comfort, but slightly worst than average. Both bathroom locks were having problem to be locked. Since DoubleTree is part of Hilton (where we stayed at […] the previous nights), we found they are different in many ways, especially bathroom, which Hilton did provide body wash & mouth wash, while DoubleTree only provided bath soap & no mouth wash available. For the $20 different in between these 2 hotels, we don't understand why DoubleTree cannot provide these kind of basic services. Otherwise, we were happy with the quality overall but still the pricing seems unreasonable even we had applied the promo code. Mehr

Charge 150 after check out for smoking in the room.

The guest prior to us smoked in the bathroom and the room was sprayed with something to mask it. It was pretty strong. Service at breakfast was slow.

We stayed 2 nights there. The front desk lady was not friendly to start with. We checked in on Xmas night, not even a hi when I said merry Christmas. Maybe she was having a bad day working on a holiday. First night, the heater was so loud that we request to change room. The 2nd night, we stayed at a different room, the room smell so bad. I thought maybe […] it was the close window. After I turned on AC and open the window, it's still rotten smell. Very unhappy, I also forgot an item on the first room. The hotel was very nice and clean. The beds are super comfortable. The hotels restraunt is very pricey, but they had free appitizers in the lounge and the breakfast menu was small, but had some resonably priced items that you could have prepared before you got there.

I just stayed here last weekend and it was a pretty nice place. It definitely wasn't the best or newest hotel, but for the price it's pretty good. I think the pictures were a little misleading, and made the hotel look newer than it was. The amenities were great! Plus the cookies downstairs were stellar. we stayed 10 times in 2011, but this last one the gave us a none smoking room, smelling a lot like cigarret,and we're traveling with kids. The room was dirty and the front desk clerk told me that they were so bussy the housekeeping did not had the time to clean the room, the floor was dusty! the bed sheets dirty!! the good thing it was the next day […] we're moved to a diferent room. Beautiful view from my 4st floor room. Service was wonderful. Warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in is a cutesy touch. Fitness center & pool/jacuzzi a nice break in this urban hotel. Easy to go to anywhere located in centeral of LA.

We loved it! Will definitely stay here again. Almost cancelled because a relative told us we should, but our experience was great. Room very nice and clean, bed comfortable, hotel staff very friendly. We will definitely be back.

I was a long time resident of Montebello (adjacent city to Rosemead) and often longed to stay at the double tree as there were not many other attractive lodgings in the area. Now in the military, we recently stayed at the double tree and was sorely disappointed with the state of the hotel. It reeks of cigarette smoke (most likely from the influx of […] Chinese tourists) and the first floor (where we stayed) felt damp and the floor also felt damp and a quick look at our socks revealed unsightly mess. The water from the outside fountain overflowed and presented a safety hazard as well. I will not be back again. Try your luck with the Hilton Garden Inn a few miles down the road. We really loved this hotel. My only complaint which I conveyed to the front desk was the buzzing and rattling air conditioning unit located in the ceiling next to my bed.

Location is good, close to 2 malls and also main roads. The mall closes early to me at 9:30. My family reached the hotel late and didn't had dinner, thanks to the air liner. However they give us warm cakes and soved the problem. That was the best part. Printer in the business center is free, so i printed the flight pass. Remember to bring your USB […] disk, as the remote print service may not work. Mehr

Higher end hotel. Noisy air conditioner didn't drown out the frequent morning tour buses jockeying to turn into the entry portico. Nearest breakfast place we could find was the Carrows across the freeway. Internet connection is hard line; connectivity ok but not great. Phone in bathroom. Not enough towels.

Everything was great, beautiful clean room with fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee, and wonderful bed! Lovely full breakfast in tablecloth restaurant. Knowledgeable and professional staff. Good price and worth time at this locale.

Difficult to find the hotel unless you came from Freeway 60, then it is quite easy, as it is somewhat visible from the freeway. We came from Freeway 10 first, and it did take us a long time, making many U-turns, and finally found it. Otherwise, the hotel is quite good.

This is my second time staying at this hotel where I conduct my on site training. Love everything. you will get a cookie when you arrive and a bottled water. Staff was friendly, business center was great- thumb up for the conveniences of getting thing done.

Hotel is right off the freeway but back far enough that noise is not an issue. Walk to shopping and dining. Free internet service and a large desk to accomodate working. Dine in room service was great as was the food. Perfect location for business travelers in the Monterey Park, Rosemead, City of Industry areas.

I am big on reviews because I belive it gives honest information that only a recent guest can provide. I booked the DT while traving on business the because most hotels in the LA were too pricey due to the ALL Star games. The lobby in the picture is accurate and that's it. The rooms not so much. The bed is a low plaform bed and it was suppose to be […] a king but looked like a double bed. The hallways smelled like combination of smoke and old carpet. I purchased flip flops from the all across the street to walk on the carpet instead of jumping from towel to towel (lol). I wouldn't sit in furniture without a towel on the seat. And I asked for new sheets, which I layed across the existing sheets to sleep. I'm not really a germaphobe, but I do like a clean comfortable room. If you have stayed in four star hotel before please continue to do so as the 1/2 star does make a difference. Oh, the bathroom was very clean though and the best part of the room. The Doubletree LA Rosemead was a very comfortable location and hotel. Since I was on business and meeting with a local company it was convenient and met expectations. The breakfast was good (off menu) and fresh. The service was prompt and pleasant.

if you get a room that includes breakfast - its a big buffet, well worth it!

The location it being across the street from The stores-Montebello which is a Mall was great. Also it is near the freeway which is another PLUS....It is also walking distance to Mc Donalds...another Plus! However, the front desk failed to mention that I get free breakfast. Prior to that I had no idea where the hotel restaurant was located. When I asked […] where the hotel restaurant was located-- the front desk lady looked at me with bewilderment. That was when I saw the sign which answered my question.The staff at the restaurant was very professional. My waitress was the one that mentioned that I had free breakfast for staying there. The price was reasonable, the staff was very friendly and the location was convenient.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was much nicer than what the pictures show and the staff was not only very welcoming, but very helpful in giving us directions to local attractions. Although we were very upset to find out that upon check in your charged an authorization fee, which is fine, but the hotel does not notify […] you of this charge. Also the breakfast buffet is horrible. Over all we had a great stay. Very quiet area and comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Mehr

We recently needed to stay in Pasadena to pick up our new puppy and didn't want to spend alot of money staying overnite. We found the right price at the Double Tree and took a chance it was as nice as it was advertised. It was, and unlike another reviewer, we saw no signs of Ghosts, hehe. It was a great stay and the breakfast was good too.

Nice and clean hotel to stay in a fairly large complex. Area feel safe to walk around at night. Only a few minutes from Garvey and Valley Blvds. Too bad, the bed is a little too soft and the vending machine down the stairs does not take bills.

Aside from the occasional annoyances of hotel staff not doing what you ask them to do, this hotel always pleases. It is so convenient to where we needed to be. It truly isn't that far from downtown if you have to go there (we didn't). Without traffic you can get there in about 20 minutes. The mall is literally next door, just cross the street. The breakfast […] buffet is fantastic with an excellent variety of foods, cook to order omelets, juices, oatmeal, breads, yogurt, etc. The breakfast staff is stellar, extremely kind and attentive, thank you for that. Restaurant prices for dinner are excellent or McDonald's is also next door. Freeway is immediately accessible, just cross the intersection and the entryway is right there to Eastbound 60 freeway. Really, you can't beat this hotel for its convenience, price, hospitality, cleanliness. Will be back time and time again, hands down. Mehr
