Ramada Hotel Downtown Calgary - Calgary

Das Hotel liegt ganz gut im Bankenviertel Calgarys, es sind also Restaurants etc. zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Hotel entspricht jedoch einem Standart von 1980, mit lilanem Teppich etc. Im Zimmer war die Heizung nachts so laut, dass wir schließlich jemanden holen mussten, der dann wahrhaftig um 23.30 sagte: "dann musst ihr die Heizung auf 30 Grad schalten, […] etwa 1 Stunde und dann wieder runter schalten. Das Fenster könnt ihr dabei aufmachen, damit es nicht zu warm wird" Ohne Worte... Achja, das parken ist in der Stadt nicht so einfach, im Hotel kostet es 16 Dollar die Nacht. Mehr

Die Lage des Hotels ist gut (in der nähe der Fussgängerzone). Leider unbefriedigender Service im Hotel. Keine Hilfe beim Gepäck, beim Parken (Tiefgarage ist klein und die max. Höhe der Autos sehr limitiert), Frühstück ungenügend. Die zum Hotel gehörige Bar dunkel und ungemütlich.

Restaurant in der Lobby, die Bar ist ziemlich uebel, keine Minibar, d.h. vorher einkaufen! Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen, die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich, TV mit Flachbildschirmen riesig, die Zimmer Okay

The hotel was in a great location but there was no ac in the room and it was extremely warm in the room. For the amount we paid we were disappointed with the fact that it was hot and no way to cool it. Otherwise it is a nice hotel and the staff were very friendly.

the exterior is wonderful, downtown there is no parking, the hotel parking was always full, had to use and pay for public parking. my room smelled like dirty smoke, could not change rooms, they sprayed the room with air freshener, had to leave for an hour it was too powerful. the shower head was leaking. the tub surround had caulking that had come apart […] from the tub and was clearly black. there was a curly hair stuck to the mirror. not at all pleased. will not go back Mehr

My only complaint would be the paper thin walls. There was a party next door which woke me at 3 am and even loud conversation was audible. The workout room is equiped with newer machines that work so was impressed with that but I didn't try any other services.

Crappiest Internet wireless connection ever! Do not go there for business. I had to go to an internet cafe outside to get some work done. Unbelievable!!!

I liked the lady at the front desk....I did expect a bump to the honeymoon suite but may be they didn't have any.

Comfortable

Staff were very friendly, very good service from the staff. I did enjoy the stay.

My wife loved the Jacuzzi. I found the room too small. Was not impressed by the little shower where I kept on bumping the the shower handle to hot, burning myself. We asked for a fridge which was we got fairly quick but it was dirty with dried milk all over the top and door. -we wanted to swim but found out that the pool was not in operation till summer (outdoors) - we bought soup, sandwiches to warm up but found out there was no microwave - wanted coffee in the morning but found out there was no coffee maker

This hotel is right downtown within strolling distance of good restaurants and right next door to Masters Pub, which is great at any time of day. The service at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming.

Needsca lot of renovatiOn in the hotel overall good

My husband and I and 2 close friends stayed here for 2 nights and I would NOT recommend this Hotel to anyone. First we pre-booked 2 weeks ahead and made sure that we got a room with 2 queen size beds. When we got to the Hotel they were rude to us and felt like they didnt care if we stayed there or not. Then we got into our room and it was soooo small […] and no queen beds, even though my husband called and asked the day before we left and they said we had queen size beds. My husband and his best friend arent small guys and they couldnt even fit through the bathroom door. So we got moved (after alot of complaing) to another room and it was a little bigger but not the bathroom and it was dirty!!! It looked like someone that stayed in that room before us, spit on the walls for some reason and there was dried spit all over the walls. The carpet looked dirty in the corners of the room and there was water stains on the roof. The next time we come to Calgary for a concert or hockey game we wont be staying here. We had a most enjoyable stay at out hotel, excellent rate, from check in our staff was awesome, upgraded us to king size bed, no charge. Parking attendant was very accomodating, and our room was very clean and had just been renovated. The location was right downtown, close to everything we were looking for. Where do I begin. My husband and I booked this hotel for a weekend get away. We were very displeased with what we got for what we paid. To start, there was valet parking that I was unaware of and had to pay extra for. Then there was no hot water in the mornings. We had to run the taps for about 10-15 min. before we could get warm water. The hotel is […] located on a busy street that was very noisy. The hotel is old and the heater/boiler system makes a lot of noise during the night. It woke us up a few times. It's located by a train yard. The trains also woke us up. The blow drier doesn't blow hot air, so bring your own!! The lighting is horrible in both the main room and the bathroom. All in all, this hotel is not worth the money and we will never recommend it to anyone!! Mehr

Was a great centralized location for any downtown amenities. Train station is close. A little difficult to locate parking entrance, luckily we brought the car as our raised pick up would not have fit into the underground parking.

Rooms were not very clean if you started to look too close to the floor. They were also quite small. Bed was comfy enough. Good breakfast and service in the restaurant

well first of all, they had a problem with the hot water in our room, not a great starting point, lied about it, and then made us wait over 4 hours for it to come back on. We were talking in our room one night, and the walls are so thin that the people next to us could hear us. Bathrooms are really small, food not great, but the location was good downtown. I stayed for three nights. I was disappointed by the hotel when I entered it, but it was definitely okay. The room was nice, which did make up for the otherwise not very well tended hotel. But for next time, I'll likely try to find another hotel.

Not a fancy hotel. Elevators are old and slow. My room was clean, but small and honestly a bit stinky (I was on the Executive floor!) But staff is nice and the price was low enough to make it acceptable compared to the craziness of hotels rates downtown Calgary. I would recommend it for a quick solo business trip...if the price make sense!

I recommend this hotel if you're on a tight budget or you have to stay downtown and all other hotels are booked. The desk clerk who checked us in didn't seem to enjoy her job and first parking attendant was curt and unfriendly. All other staff very friendly. Bed was old and uncomfortable, pillows too soft. The entrance to the parkade is very tight and you must let the attendant park the vehicle even though we were already in the parkade. We were then required to leave him the key and leave the driver's side window rolled down. Needless to say we were concerned about theft but were assured there would be someone down there at all times. Everything worked out but felt it was a strange setup. Second parking attendant was very friendly and helpful. Location is about 3 blocks from Scotia Center and The Bay. It's a nice walk and offers a variety of shops. Because it's centrally located, it's easy to access tourist favorites-The Calgary Zoo, trendy Kensington area across the river and also to 17th Ave., Epcor Center for the Arts, Chinatown, Calgary Tower, Glenbow Museum and Olympic Plaza, etc. We will be paying a bit more for a nicer hotel during our next stay visit to Calgary. Would never stay or recommend this hotel and I have stayed in many hotels in Canada, Australia, Europe and Malaysia. I wish I could find something nice to say about this hotel, but there is not even one thing.

The location of the hotel was very convenient for the reason why I was in Calgary - needed to be downtown. The staff was very helpful and were able to order a shuttle to the airport for me very quickly. The room itself was in a bit of a weird location and the bathroom was really tiny and quite cramped. My biggest complaint however was parking. The hotel […] has it's own parking but it is on a first come first serve basis. The nearest parking, if you couldn't get street parking was two blocks away. Hotel is rather worn and dirty for the price...needs FULL RENO. They do not have enough parking for the # of rooms so if you are driving look else where esp if you need to come and go with your auto a lot during the day.

We stayed here for a concert at the Saddledome, which was a 7.50 cab fare away. The beds and pillows were comfy. It was a simple, clean room with all you need. I wouldn't stay here if you are looking for a place with a great view or anything like that. Stay here if you need to be downtown and you don't plan on spending much time in the room. Be aware […] that they will charge you an extra 15 bucks for valet parking. The entrance for the valet garage is very tight, I would stay away if you have a large vehicle. This was the best value hotel I could find downtown. It has a restaurant but it's overpriced. $4.00 for a scrambled egg! Mehr

Hotel is conveniently located and close to many restaurants, banks, etc. Rooms are nice, but balcony had no chairs and there was no screens on windows. Also, there was no hot water for us to enjoy showers the next morning.

Nothing really at Calgary worth spending more than one night for. The hotel was ok, average.

The hotel is rather old, the interior needs a major uplift. My room smelled on cigarettes although it was a non smoking room. The temperature in the room was below 15 degree and after unsuccessful search for AC control panel I had to call the front desk for assistance. It turned out that the hotel had central air and it is not an option to adjust the […] temperature. I was advised to turn the heater on (separate unit). Unbelievable, what a waste of energy, when the temperature outside was in the low 20s, not only that the central AC was cranking, but I had to turn up the heat!!!!. just to let you know that we were not impressed by the Hotel policies about the parking (first come first serve),, We did not get a parking and had to park in a public parking which cost us 51.00 from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m next day.....we should of have a parking....cause my father in law who is 87 is handicap and my husband as well....all we got was […] $40 something dollars but was not worth all the trouble of parking ..... The other reviews I read are pretty much on target. The hotel could use a facelift. Some of the room fixtures are a bit dated, but really, for an overnight stay it was just fine.
