Not a fan of OHIO, but LOVE Columbus! Great location. All of the staff we encountered were friendly. Nice room: clear view of the river, clean, 2 large flat screen tvs, nice bar/kitchette. Because of our time schedule, we ate in the hotel restaurant/bar - the food was fine (I would go somewhere else to eat next time...like the Flat Iron), the mixed […] drink was good and strong. Don't usually get room service, but, again due to our schedule, we did...disappointing. Mehr

We usually prefer to stay at a Doubletree because they're always nice and beds are so comfortable. The chocolate chip cookies are always a plus too, but had to ask for them at this location. The hotel wasn't close to the venue where we were going, but stayed at our preferred hotel anyway. A friend told me that parking shouldn't cost as much as their […] site quoted because he had parked in that garage for events without staying at the hotel for $3-5. However, at check in, they told me it was $15 for the day ($20 if you want in/out privileges) and would cost much more if I paid by the hour so I believed them and paid for parking in advance. When we tried to pull in to what we thought was the hotel garage on the same side as the hotel lobby entrance and showed them our paid receipt, we then learned that this was NOT the hotel parking! It would have only cost about $3 and since you pay as you enter, they don't charge by the hour. They told us there that the hotel garage was up and around the corner, but all seemed to be part of the same building. This was very confusing and I felt ripped off. My reco is to not pay for parking thru hotel and park in the garage that is right there on same side as entrance to the hotel for a lot less! Mehr

Very happy with this hotel. Got free bottled water and free warm chocolate chips cookies. Room was very comfortable and clean. Would love to stay here again!

A few minor issues in the room, the door to the refrigerator didn't close all the way so our stuff didn't stay cold and the lighting at the vanity was dim for putting On stage make up (was there for dance competition). Overall was nice, quiet and roomy. I think it should be better noted when booking that parking is not included in your room rate, it […] was there when I went back to look but in small print it was extra but no details Mehr

My major compaint is the $20 a night parking fee for this hotel, also not too many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Hotel restaurant food was ok,but it would have been nice to have other choices closer by. also I still have not figured out the additional $23 on my debit card after I had already checked out.

The hotel was very nice, I wish there had been more places to eat within walking distance.

My husband had a wonderful stay at the Double Tree Suites by Hilton in Downtown Columbus. The service was excellent and the rooms and hotel itself were immaculately clean! We truly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it on Facebook! Every time we visit Columbus we will now use this hotel. Kathryn K

outstanding hotel all the way around

the interior wall of the hotel room are extremly thin, we were traveling with our 2 year old son and the room next to ours partied all night and then engaged in some late nite romance, not a good setting for a family to hear all night long

The hotel was very nice. Disappointed to find the paneled room divider door broken. The sleeper sofa mattress was in poor condition. Our room was right next to the elevator, so that was a bit noisy. The king size bed was VERY comfortable. Two large flat screen TV's were also nice. Parking was expensive though. Still, I would give this hotel another […] try, considering the parking fee, I would look for other options first. Mehr

Hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. That's about where the compliments end. Upon checking into our room on 11/4 we noticed that it was not a smoking room as was requested. Actually that was one of the reason we selected your hotel in the first place. Unfortunately, I had already unpacked everything before noticing that there were no ashtrays […] (or any smell of smoke in the suite). I immediatly called to the front desk where I was put on hold for 10 minutes and then again for another 5 minutes. At this point I was getting aggravated and time was getting short as we had a concert to attend at nationwide arena in a couple of hours. When I finally talked to the desk and told them the situation, he told me that it wasn't a smoking room and that they didn't have any more available. I reiterated that I had my confirmation that stated "smoking" and he rudely told me to bring it to the front desk. Some time later, they found us a room on another floor and we had to totally repack our belongings and move. Needless to say this was an inconvenience to us. As soon as I unpacked (AGAIN) I noticed that I had forgotten 2 University of Kentucky thermal cups (one a tumbler, one a mug, both with lids) on the wet bar. Again, I called the front desk right away and ask if they could retrieve them while the room was still empty since we had already turned in our cards for that room. They assured us that they would and we told them that we would piok them up at the desk on our way to our suite after the concert. We did so and the desk clerk acting like we had 2 heads and told us the room was now booked but he would check with housekeeping and take care of it. Fast forward, the next morning (11/5) we again ask at the desk for our cups upon check-out and a new desk clerk had no idea what we were talking about and called housekeeping. Long story, short, housekeeping said the 2 cups weren't there. Obviously, no one had checked when we initailly reported our belongings in the room they mo Mehr

So, after reserving and paying for my double beds, smoking room 2 months ahead of time, I call and confirm the night before. All is well. Check-in was not until 4 pm, but I showed up approximately 10 am anyway, to make sure everything was ok. At this point, I was informed by the front desk that only one double smoking room, and one king smoking room, […] were available. And apparently, another guest was interested in the double. So I would likely have to settle for the king. This proved to be the case, and as I was on the trip with a friend, I ended up sleeping on the sofa. When check-in time came, I, and a few other guests, were left to wait in the lobby for an hour and a half until our rooms were cleaned. So I couldn't even get in to the room I didn't actually want until 5:30. Upon entering my newly-cleaned room, it was apparent that attention to detail was not what delayed my receiving a room. The tables all had dust on them, there was a huge smear across the TV, and the glasses left in the room were so filthy, I wouldn't let a dog drink from them. The only 2 bright points were Carrie, the girl at the front desk, who was patiently trying to deal with all of the guests who were delayed, and taking their anger out on her. She was a champ. And the complimentary cookies are excellent. But thats about it. Mehr

We were 100% satisfied with the hotel. It was affordable, modern, clean, and we received fantastic service. It's also in a perfect location and has some nice views. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

Our stay was an overnight in/out just to visit friends in the area. We drove right to the hotel and arrived around 4pm. When we got to the hotel we used the parking ramp that is attached to the building (costs $25 per night and they do not comp this at the hotel). When we walked into the lobby they greeted us upon walking over to the desk. After looking […] up our hotels.com reservation we had been told that all the river view rooms (we clicked and paid extra for) had been filled for the day. They offered us a non-riverview room and no discount. I had set-up the reservation online but also set 2 rooms up on the reservation (both riverview rooms). Our other friends checked-in just about an hour after us (on the same reservation but with someone else working the front desk) and they DID get a riverview room. Later that night when we walked through the lobby I had asked why my reservation that was on the same number wasn't what I had asked for and our friends was. She explained that they may not have had any rooms "cleaned" at the time we arrived and that they must have been done when our friends arrived. By this point I was not going to re-pack and move just to not see anything at night or when I was packing the next morning..... unhappy with the level of customer satisfaction this company wanted to provide for a reservation that was placed through a 3rd party site. Rooms are wonderful with a spectacular view of the water.

We stayed at this hotel due to a wedding reception that took place here. When we checked in it was warm in the room, so we turned the air down and then proceeded to head to the reception. When we got back the room had NOT cooled down any and the thermostat was set on 61 degrees. In the future I would be hesitant to stay at this hotel in the summer because […] of the non functioning air conditioners. Mehr

We booked an overnight stay. Because we made reservations through hotels.com we had a beautiful suite at a very reduced price. We had a riverview,also.

Hotel room was perfect location for watching the Red White and Boom firework display. We didn't even have to leave our room, and fight to get a good view amongst the large crowds that were out. The room itself was nice, but needed some maintenance on a wall in the bedroom of this suite. The cookies that were presented to us on our arrival was nice. […] The parking charge is added to the billing invoice. I wouldn't want to stay a week with those rates, but I see why they have to have it. Overall, it was a nice stay, and my family and I will plan on getting the same room for next year's event. Mehr

My friend had called called down to the front desk to ask them to call us a cab, which they usually always do, and we were hung up on not once, but THREE TIMES!!

We stayed here to go to a Blue Jackets game. It was convenient and close to all of downtown. It's a little pricey to park... and honestly the set up of the hotel is borderline confusing. But, there was good customer service, a nice room, and it was a good experience overall.

Would have likjed more hot water, other than that wonderful.

Rude service (front desk clerk basically said I was lying to him when I pointed out that THEIR website listed a service they don't provide--"local area transportation". I can give you the URL buddy). No one offered me a cookie, and isn't that kind of their thing? Not many amenities (no gym, no pool, no airport shuttle, no breakfast, etc). Internet was […] poor. There was a hair in my "clean towel". The shower is clean, but in poor repair--cracks in the grout. I asked for taxi service in the morning, and they forgot to set it up, so I had to wait for a taxi after I was expecting to leave. Odd layout--lobby is 6 floors above the street--have to take 2 separate elevators to get to your room every time. Mehr

We stayed at this hotel as guests to my brother in laws wedding. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and in great condition. The beds were very comfortable!!! My only complaint is that we stayed in our room with another couple who checked in before us and they got the "check-in cookies" and we did not!!!!! :)

Very comfortable and very clean. Loved it.

Loved the cookies at check in. The room was huge and exceeded our expectations. It was a little further away from where we like to stay but the huge windows and the view were worth it!

This was a perfect choice for our Girls Night Out. We had 4 ladies in a King suite and had room for a roll away bed. We enjoyed conversation and appetizers in the living area. Since it had a kitchenette it was easy to prepare our food and cocktails. The vanity area was large enough for everyone to get ready for our night on the town and it was a great […] retreat after walking downtown and enjoying the local nightlife. We had a double/double suite with river view. Rooms were very nice. Beds were very comfortable. Two large flat screen tvs. For the money spent... It was all good.

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for an event at the Columbus Convention Center about 8 blocks away. The rooms were larger than I anticipated, a nice surprise. The bed and bedding were comfortable. I was surprised by the $20 per day parking charge. The room had an off odor to when we first entered each day (musty or smoky) but otherwise clean. […] We wished there was a pool or something for the teenagers in our group. I traveled to Columbus, OH last weekend with my daugher and her volleyball team. The Doubletree Guest Suites was a perfect place to stay. We had 4 people in our room and the room still felt spacious. These rooms were huge, clean, quiet and the bed exceedingly comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again for an event at Convention Center

This is a very nice place to stay. Rooms are clean, big, and up-to-date. The only complaint I have is the cost to park. If you are planning your trip on a budget, plan $20.00 per day per car to park in their garage.

loved the room - spacious, clean and lots of extras!

Our check-in was the smoothest ever - only took about 3 minutes. Extremely accomodating and friendly staff. Room was beautiful and exactly as shown online. Food in the restaurant was delicious and there was no extra charge for room service. Our convention-mates were jealous they didn't stay there as we had the nicest room at the best rate.

The hotel is conveniently located near Nationwide Arena. The cab ride from the hotel to the arena is quick and inexpensive. The arena is within walking distance if you prefer to walk instead of ride. The hotel room is equipped with flat screen televisions in the main room and bedroom. The channel selections are plentiful. The room comes with a small […] refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot (did not want to brew more than 1 cup at a time). The pillows were incredibly soft and the hotel offers several pillows. After a long day, falling onto the bed and climbing under the down comforter will refresh you. Mehr

Everything was great except for the high price of parking
