Siam City Hotel - Bangkok

Die Zimmer waren sauber und schön eingerichtet, und das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage war gut, 5 min zu Fuß zum Skytrain (25 min zum Flughafen, 5 min zu großen Einkaufszentren und 15 min zum Fluss). Da wir früh morgens ankamen, waren wir besonders angenehm überrascht, dass wir schon um 6 Uhr in unser Zimmer konnten.

Sehr schönes Hotel, sehr großes Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal, das Hotel liegt zentral. Die S-Bahn ist vor der Tür aber man kann auch mit Taxi oder TukTuk sehr billig überall hinkommen. Gute Verbindung zum Flughafen (mit dem öffentlichen Taxi um ca. 8EUR, mit dem Airlink um 2EUR). Wir waren mit dem Hotel sehr zufrieden.

sehr schönes, edles hotel. zentrale lage zu einkaufszentren, 5 min mit tuk tuk. frühstücksbuffet jedoch wenn nicht inkl 25 euro pro person. service ansonsten einwandfrei. pool und fitnessraum in ordnung.

On my trip around the world, this was the nicest hotel I stayed in. I had my laundry done by the hotel and was amazed at the job they did. All pressed folded with cardboard stays and wrapped in stiff clear plastic. The lobby was being renovated and I am sure the hotel will be even better when that is done.

Booked this hotel just 3 days before arriving. No problems with check in. Very conveniently located, 3 minutes walk to the BTS or approximately 60-70 baht taxi ride to Siam/MBK area. Some refurbishment going on during my stay but I was never inconvenienced. Great level of service. Rooms are a little dated but very clean and serviced daily. The beds […] were VERY HARD. We casually mentioned this to the door man and were pleasantly surprised when we returned to find extra padding on our beds. Buffet breakfast was fresh and tasty. Great selection of choices each morning. There are four restaurants within the hotel plus a nice coffee shop. We only at at the Italian restaurant. Food was okay but pricey. Overall a pleasant stay and I would definitely stay there again. Mehr

Very nice hotel, but in my opinion not worth the money or the four stars. Wonderful view at Bayoki Tower! Room not top fresh though. Wall-to-wall carpet in the whole hotel... cosy is not the word... Otherwise good hotel that I would recommend if you are ok with the carpets :) /Katarina

Stayed here last year and was very impressed with the bell hop service and the staff attitude so i decided to book a room here again this trip. It was quite a total disaster. Reached the hotel at 4pm and was told that our room is not ready and asked if we were alright with staying in a twin bed room tonight and shifting to a king bed room the next day […] or the other choice was to wait an hour for a king bed room. It was already 4pm and we didnt want to waste more time so we took the twin bed room. Took the lift up and found our room door open. We went in to a unmade room. Horrified. Was really tired and didn't want to make a trip down to the reception which was rather far away as the hotel was under renovation. Got the room keeping on that floor who was in a few rooms down to make up the room. Another unfortunate event was that we were having macdonalds in the room that evening and i dropped some fries on the floor by accident without knowing it. And how i found out was the next day when we came back to our made up room, there were fries on the floor. So they don't look on the floor!??? On our previous trip, the bell hop gave us a taxi card whenever we took a taxi so that when we came back we just had to pass the card to the driver and they would know where to go. Unfortunately this time we didn't get any card and had a tough time coming back to the hotel. I hope this is just because the lobby is under renovation not that the standard has dropped so drastically in 7 months.. Mehr

First time at this hotel. Not the best of experiences, expensive and not very nice breakfast, Internet connection is bad and really expensive, the area is ok but no good restaurants, recommend Siam for food. Some of the staff somewhat impolite, the rooms are old and there is no iron in the room which is strange for a business hotel. I do not recommend […] this hotel. Mehr

Hotel is. Lovely and in a good location away from all the madness. However its quite expensive to eat and drink. English is very poor. We had no sleep as there was work been done in the hotel till 5am. When we complained we were promised it wouldnt happen again and it did the folowing night. We were given a free breakfast but this wasnt good enough […] as we were exhausted after a very long flight. Mehr

Near to Airport Link and BTS and hotel price is reasonable.

Interrupted repeatedly - as soon as we checked in our room was rented to another party that almost walked in on us. Clothes damaged by laundry Mold on tub Wifi very unreliable, forcing us to rely on directions from hotel staff which were also unreliable Seemed to lose our luggage and kept us waiting for checked bags 30 min. Loads of angry people waiting […] at checkout counter seem to indicate others shared our experience. Mehr

My wife and I only stayed here one night between flights. The hotel is very close to the airtrain line to the international airport (Suvarnabhumi), which is the main reason we picked it. It is a nice hotel, has good massages at their spa, and has a nice pool. There are a variety of restaurants and shops conveniently located on the first floor. The staff […] was very nice. Mehr

Beautiful. 3 minutes walk from the airport train. 2 minutes walk from Skytrain. Go out the front door, turn right, turn right at the first light and a few block down to the right you'll find local's market and food. The real thing. Staff is friendly, helpful and gracious. Only problem is internet. Discounted rooms don't have, so go to the lobby and […] they'll give you a pass word. That's fine as the lobby has plenty of room and coffee and drinks. We will stay there again on annual pass through Bangkok. It does show it's age in places, but it's Bangkok. Mehr

Stay three night in the hotel was okay, staff very friendly and helpful , Hotel location is in the city easy access to the sky train just take three minutes from hotel to the station. Highly recommended .

+ Close to public transportation, friendly and helpful staff (excelent english knowledge), nice rooms and other facilities. - Extremely expencive wifi.

The location of this hotel is great; right next to the sky train. The hotel itself is clean, modern and most importantly quiet. The hotel represents good value for money. The only nevatives are that when I was there (December) at no point during the day did the sunshine on the pool are poolside area, the onside restuarants are over priced and the English […] of the night reception staff wasn't great. I have stayed at this hoitel 5 times over the past 6 years and will keep going back to it. I love how its a mixture of old and modern thailand together. I have always found the staff to be very friendly there. The hotel is kept exeptionaly clean. There are so many resturants in the complex if you dont want to go anywhere else and if you do the sky train […] is just across the road. the breakfast was also amazing. I will definately be back if i ever return to Bangkok Mehr

WE were delighted with the SIAM CITY HOTEL.THe only problem was that their gorgeous pool was not functioning and this was disappointing given the high temperatures and humidity in Bangkok at the time. Otherwise I would recommend it.

Hotel is clean, staff friendly, rooms large and comfortable, but unless you are looking to do a lot of duty free shopping...righ next door, the location is not that great.

I had a very pleasant stay. The location of the hotel, close to skytrain and airport train, is great.

good location near airport train but crossing the road to the hotel a nightmare with cases. close to skytrain but nothing around the hotel worth visiting and no restaurants/ supermarkets nearby rooms very clean but beds hard and could do with a clock in the room food average most of staff very nice but the reception desk a bit business like

My girlfriend and I spent a weekend in Bangkok. I was visiting family so we didnt spend too much time at the hotel but it was conveniently located for my family to pick us up or drop us off. The hotel is also 5 min walk away from the BTS which is also connected to the airport line. 2 Stops away from the shopping at Paragon etc. Room was very comfortable, […] this was value for money! Hotel restaurants are OK, and pricey but atleast you know the food is safe. There are a few malls in the area and you can walk around the corner for a few bars and restaurants. I would recommend this place for anybody going to BKK, especially if it is your first time. It is easy to get around and the staff was very helpful and had good recommendations for leisurely activities. Mehr

1. Myb hotel could include a services for airport transfer. 2. Its highly appreciated if signage of QIBLAT (muslim prayer arrow/direction) could be a place in the hotel room. 3. Halal (Muslim) or vegetarian restaurant should be consider to be place in the hotel. And more choice of this kind of food during breakfast. 4. How about some live band at the […] lounge...... Mehr

I got a great deal on hotels.com and didnt know the hotel before I made the booking, so I was thinking that it might be a dodgy 4 star wannabe hotel. However, all my resevations towards the hotel was made ashame once I arrived at the hotel. The staff is super friendly, smiling, engaging and informative. - Without it being too much. The hotel facade […] could need a cleaning, but inside everything is super fancy. We had a great time at this place, having a beer and a fish-burger at the pool on the 6h floor after a long day in Bangkok was wonderful. Id say this is a 5 star hotel - and if hospitality could give extra stars, it would be a 6 star hotel. My best hotel experience ever! Mehr

Easy walk to/from airport Skytrain and BTS station (Phaya Thai). There is an elevator on the airport train side of the station that will take you to the street. I did see a hotel bellhop at the train station assist other travelers. Perhaps they phoned ahead? But the train is really close to hotel if you have wheeled luggage. Service of hotel staff was […] excellent. Beware that hotel transportation desk will try to sell the hotel car transport service (1600 baht) between midnight and when trains start (5AM). We easily got a taxi and even though the metered fare was a little over 175 baht, we tipped very heavily - after all it was 2AM. Spacious modern bathroom with separate long bath tub from shower. Rain-shower head and handheld shower head in tiled shower - plenty of hot water and water pressure. A place to put your toiletries below the sink. Overall, very nicely decorated - even fresh orchids in bedroom and bath! Good AC, quiet location even though close to major roads and trains, bathrobes and slippers provided as well. The room was not especially spacious - if you have lots of luggage, it would be tight. For the price we got on Hotels.com, (approx $70 USD per night) this was an excellent deal. Caveat: this price did not include internet (an additional fee) - however just hopped the BTS two stops to SIAM Paragon and used the internet cafe in the food court for about 40 baht for 1/2 hour. We chose to go to the local 7-11 to purchase additional beverages/snacks (go to your left when exiting the hotel - about 2 buildings away) for variety and because so much less than hotel provided convenience bar prices. Although the many hotel restaurants looked good, we chose to eat at other places out of convenience of where we were at whilst sightseeing. There is a Starbucks a little bit down the road (take right out of hotel, left at intersection, go up BTS to cross over to other side of Thanon Phaya Thai , Starbucks will be on your right - 100 yards? It was pretty nice hotel. While we the there the pool didn't get any sun so no good for sunbathing. Had to pay for wifi and food at the hotel was really expensive. Really close to the skytrain which was good and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We booked a last minute special on hotels.com that gave us a great deal for a night in the city. We had been spending our entire Thailand trip staying with family members, so we were more than ready for a comfortable night in a hotel, and this was the perfect choice. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and makes good use of the small footprint […] it takes up on this block in the Phaya Thai area of Bangkok. It has a great location a short walk from the skytrain station, which we took for some shopping at MBK mall. The room itself had everything I needed: a clean comfortable bed (relatively speaking, since most mattresses in Thailand are much stiffer than the pillow tops we've grown accustomed to here in the states), a lovely bathroom complete with a soaking tub and rainwater showerhead (SUCH a nice alternative when we'd been showering in traditional settings with the tub-and-basin method or the sometimes awkward open shower in a wet bathroom), and a mini-bar with whiskey that calculated out to much less than I would've spent in the bars at RCA later that night. The small room was beautiful, with lovely decor that didn't take away precious floorspace, a window to the bathroom so that I could mess with my husband while he was in there trying to do his...thing, and the service (including room service) was excellent as well. I'll try to stay here again if they have specials such as the one I found, and for its location to the train, shopping and RCA, as well as for the comfort of the room and quality of service. Mehr

The hotel is in a great location near Victory Monument. Lots of shopping areas and restaurants near by. Close to BTS station and easy to access. However, the service from the hotel restaurant, Lin Fa was not satisfied us. Over all is good, but we may or may not stay there again. Could find other 4 stars hotels with better value.

Upon arrival the bell boys came running down the stairs to greet us and could not do enough for us. All the staff were very helpful and so, so friendly. We went away for a few days diving and when we came back, they remembered us and welcomed us back like old friends.A little tip: people providing a service will "Y" you as a greeting (putting their […] hands together like in prayer and bow their heads) - apparently it is clumbsy for the person receiving the service to return the gesture, but a polite nod of the head and a big smile go a long way. They are such a smiley nation! The hotel is absolutely beautiful; shining marble, gleaming surfaces, fresh flowers everywhere, ornate decoration and a pianist in reception in the evening. The rooms we had were both lovely and I particularly enjoyed the oversized, corner shower cubicle! My friend who teaches out there, who we met up with, told me later that it should have been 400 Baht (£8)maximum by taxi back to the airport, but unfortunately we'd already booked and paid for transfers at much more than that. 酒店位置十分方便, 與Phaya Thai BTS站及SA Express都很接近, 無論往來市中心或往返機場都十分便捷. 住宿期間正值生日, 酒店更貼心的送上生日蛋糕, 感覺很窩心. 唯現時酒店大堂正在裝修, 有點不方便, 但裝修後應會恢復正常.

Jag och min kompis valde att bo på Siam City Hotel sista dagarna i Bangkok. Personalen var jättetrevlig och hjälpsam, rummen fina och frukosten jättegod! Ett stort plus för mig var att de hade ett litet gym med bra öppettider! Tyvärr höll de på att bygga om när vi var där, så det var lite stök i korridorerna, men inget man märkte av alltför mycket. Bra läge, speciellt när man åker därifrån till flygplatsen - inga köer! Nära Baiyki utsiktstorn och marknad runt omkring. Nära MBK och Siam Corner - om man gillar shopping i varuhus. Nära till snabbtåget till flygplatsen o andra skytrain.
