My sister and I were visiting Asheville to tour the Biltmore. Couldn't have picked a more convenient hotel -- right next door. Also, it was within walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc. The hotel/room was clean, and the staff was helpful when we asked for directions to places in the city.

Nice the receptionist provided sellections for treats from easter egg basket and a warm chocolate cookie. Only problem with room was that the shower handle was broken. Reported it to receiptionist so hopefully it was reported. Room 509

We booked our room with an indication from the Hotels.com operator that we would have a suite with 2 separate but adjoining rooms. When we spoke to the hotel, we found out that Queen Junior Suite was not what our Hotels.com operators (yes more than one) had told us to expect. Upon arrival, the hotel manager upgraded us to the King Suite with the layout […] we hoped for - without additional charge. We were very pleased with the service of the hotel and grounds. Mehr

very friendly staff helpful in stressful situation.

Good value for the money. Nice hotel, great location near the gate to the Biltmore House/grounds, Biltmore shops, restaurants, etc. If you cant afford to stay on the property or at other nearby outrageously priced hotels, this is the one for you. We got a great deal through Hotels.com and could not have been happier!

Location was great. It was nice having a restaurant attached....d each night with a cocktail there.

We had a wonderful stay at the doubletree. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed having the balcony room. It was a very pretty view of the courtyard below. We had no trouble with the hot water as someone had stated in an earlier review I read. The shower head was very nice and 3 women had plenty of hot water to take a great shower […] every morning. The location could not be better for a visit to Biltmore Estate. I will stay here again this spring when I am planning another trip! Mehr

There's a convenient Friday's restaurant adjacent to the hotel. You can even go there without going outside. I overheard a front desk clerk telling a new arrival guest that if you show your hotel key to the waiter at Friday's, you would get 20% off of the check. We were never told that, and our bill was $52.00 and could have used the 20% off. The waiters […] at Friday's knew we were staying at the hotel, but did not reveal this information either. The front desk said that only Friday's could adjust our bill, but when we were leaving the hotel, Friday's was not yet open for the day. Mehr

lobby was cold no heat towel rack broken room dark no fridge really not at all what I expected for the price; personnel friendly but hotel in need of updating does not compete with other 7 hotels we stayed at which were less money with more modern conveniences

Overall a very nice hotel, the only negatives were the dated air conditioner and overwhelming fabric softener smell and oily-ness on the sheets. The room was a lithe warm the first night until it had time to cool the room down and I wish the hotel wouldn't use fabric softener sheets in the dryer. It really makes the sheets greasy and too smelly.

The only thing going for this hotel is that is close to the Biltmore. It is old and needs to refurbished or at least cleaned. The hotel put us next to the elevator and when we asked about the noise level we were told that they had not had any complaints. We were awake all night with the noise of the old elevator. There is no breakfast buffet included […] and we were already paying a high price for two nights. We would have been better off to pay the extra money and stayed at the Biltmore Hotel on the grounds of the Biltmore. Mehr

We had a great stay. Front desk staff was tops. 6 highway miles from Biltmore Estate so the name is misleading. Room was small but pretty clean. Easy parking. Lots of kid friendly restaurants only seconds away--a big plus for me.

The best thing about staying at the Doubletree was the location. It was right across the street from the Biltmore Village and right around the corner of the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. It couldn't have been easier, a simple walk to great shopping, food, and a wonderful history lesson!

Location was great and staff was very pleasant. I was put in a handicap room in which I couldn't hang my suits because the only bar was on the lower level and the space was obstructed by a safe. Bathroom was uncomfortable - no tub and the shower head sprayed down almost against the wall and faucets and it wouldn't stay higher up (I'm tall -5'10"), and […] at one point it actually fell on my head! What a rude awakening. Bed was no comfortable and room smelled like years of bad air fresheners. Mehr

located right next to the Biltmore Mansion but the hotel and rooms are a bit worn out to be rated much above a 3 star. Service was great except for a middle aged gentleman at the front desk who was less than pleasant. After we avoided him thereafter, everyone else was great.

Double tree in Ashville is very conveniently located to eateries and must-see sites. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy highway access as well.

Very well pleased with the quality of the room, the service and the cleanliness! Will be booking with Doubletree again!

The staff was very professional (especially Don at the front desk) We did not have hot water on Saturday night for several hours. Evidently this is an ongoing problem with the hotel.

Hotel excellent, staff very attentive. Breakfast buffet a bit pricey. Highly recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to, or through, Asheville!

Really enjoyed my recent stay and was pleased with every facet but one, breakfast. You should consider revising what you currently offer to a continental breakfast that is complimentary (many hotels do so now). It was not only that the breakfast was poor it was also expensive, $11.95 each, way too much for what was offered. I did love the fact that […] you were so close to all the main attractions and would consider The Double Tree for a future stay but I know enough to get up and go out for something to eat! Mehr

This is a nice hotel but the rate is over-priced. I had a couple of issues. There were some used tissues stuffed in the AC vent grates. The bathroom sink stopper would not stay closed. I mentioned these things at check out and got a weak apology. There should have been some offer of price reduction. The room did not have a fridge. Ice machine down the […] hall. I though those days were long gone. The internet connection was SLOOOOOOW. Mehr

Nice Hotel..Surprised we were charged for full amount 2 weeks before arrival..Front desk experience wasnt good..Given bad directions to room..Room was caliber of a Motel 6..After complaint, was upgraded to tower.New.Room was nice..Should have stayed at Marriot Residence of Biltmore..Price was pricey for this kind of room..Disappointed there wasnt an […] outdoor pool..a Saline pool is not an attraction. When arrived the balcony non smoking room was claimed to be unavailable. Had a hassle but utlimately resolved. Overall the hotel is nice and convenient to downtown and Biltmore.

Great stay. The hotel is clean, has a quaintness to it even though it is a very large hotel. VERY nice room, GREAT staff. Very welcoming, professional and accomodating. Top rate group.

We were at the hotel for a wedding that was taking place in the ballroom. The wedding was beautiful!!! Service was exceptional and the food was wonderful! I could not say more about the wedding it self. VERY NICE!! The hotel is very nice and clean. Our room was a decent size with a view of the courtyard. The service at the front desk was nice. You get […] a warm cookie at check in, nice touch. I loved having TGI Fridays attached to the hotel. You are trapped by room service prices for a good sandwich or dinner. This hotel was in absolutely one of the best locations in Asheville. It was literally a block away from the Biltmore Estate entrance and within walking distance of Biltmore Village (a trendy outdoor shopping mall). It isn't too far of a drive from downtown. Now the negatives. I was impressed by the lobby and the reception area. The people were friendly […] and helpful. However, the room is something you would expect to find in a hotel half the cost. I typically stay in Country Inn and Suites because they are usually priced cheap and provide adequate service. This hotel was twice as much as the Country Inn and Suites that was down the street and provided nothing extra. The wallpaper in the bathroom was coming up in areas. The floor and about 2 inches above the floor stayed FREEZING cold all night. The wireless was dreadfully slow. I tried to google map all of the places we wanted to go on our trip and it took forever. We ordered room service for breakfast on the morning we went to the Biltmore Estate that way we didn't have to go anywhere and we could get an early start. The breakfast was really good but $40 good is slightly a stretch. They charged a trip charge for the room service and a service fee and some other fee. I didn't tip even though the guy was really nice due to all these fees. The food started out at $25 which is reasonable but somehow worked itself up to nearly $40 after all the fees and taxes. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone other than business people whose company is paying for it. Mehr

Very close to Biltmore Estate. Beautiful part of town. No free breakfast but the hotel is attached to TGIFridays. Several historical artifacts about the area displayed around the hotel. Indoor pool,jacuzzi, and exercise room were better than expected.

Walking distance to Biltmore Village a few blocks and a nice breakfast buffet (for an extra charge). Staff was very courteous. Room was nice.
