Hampton Inn Chicago - O'Hare - Schiller Park

Everything was right, nothing was wrong. The hotel staff were great, free breakfast very good, the only thing missing was a free shuttle to the convention center for the conference we were in town for. Driving in a busy city that you don't know and paying for parking is a pain, but other then that, our stay was really quite good.

Very nice breakfast Buffet w/ Japanese rice, miso soup, and seaweed! nice selections!

Overall we were satisfied. Very clean and well-mantained. Appreciated the hot breakfast and the coffee/tea/hot cocoa 24/7! Staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Rides to/from O'Hare on the Thrifty Bus were great--jumped on the L and headed to TheCity. Saved a ton not having to drive in/deal with traffic/parking. Only complaint was the bed could've […] been better; felt like we were rolling into the middle all night and woke up with a backache. The comforter had seen it's better days; what used to be a smooth poly-filled spread was an overwashed lumpy mess. It worked, but it wasn't pretty. Nice hotel, finding a parking space is somewhat difficult depending on the time of day. I have used this hotel for a two night stay for the last 12 years.

I was very impressed with the service provided by this hotel. When I was looking for a drugstore late one evening, the front desk staff not only gave me directions, they called to make sure it was still open. The room was very comfortable, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was good, and getting to airport was EXTREMELY easy and quick. Despite its proximity to the airport you had no idea that you were so close. I had a very restful stay.

My husband and I stayed here the night we arrived in Chicago, and then again the night before our early morning flight on our way home. We enjoyed our short stay. The rooms were nice. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly. BUT, I was surprised at how much of an issue we had catching the hotel shuttle on our arrival at ORD. (But the shuttle […] back TO the airport was a breeze!) I called the hotel from a "hotel shuttle phone" in the airport and went to 'Door #2' at the shuttle pick-up area as directed. "They'll be there in about 15-20 min.". We went there, and waited for almost an hour... in the cold wind! At one point, we thought we might've seen the shuttle speed by (w/o slowing), but we weren't sure. I saw the "Thrifty Rental" on the van, and my husband thought he'd seen "Hampton Inn". After 45 min., I tried calling the hotel, but there was no answer (11:30 p.m.). I finally asked another shuttle driver what we should be looking for, and he confirmed the bus has both ads on it. He also said the drivers usually go to Door #1, don't come often, and don't wait long, if they even stop. When I finally got someone at the hotel to answer (or so I thought it was the hotel clerk), somehow it was like a 3-way call, and it was another person telling me they need the shuttle to come and get them at ORD! Finally the hotel picked up the line and we both told him there are 2 sets of people waiting! Then they arrived within minutes! This was our only frustration with the hotel and their shuttle service. And at least the hotel clerk was very apologetic when we walked in. So, you definitely DO have to set up a shuttle pick-up, but apparently that's not a guarantee that you'll actually be the passenger they stop to pick up. And be sure to look for the THRIFTY car rental bus! They aren't one of the shuttles that drive by every 5-10 minutes checking for people needing a ride! The staff is very nice but your definitely not in a nice part of town. There is however a park and ride across the street. I drove across the street in the morning so the park and ride could handle the rest. The room bed was wonderful but the hotel for just having renovations was not showing it.

I stayed here when my company sent me to Chicago for training. It was a great place to stay - they have a free shuttle to and from the airport, very clean and comfortable rooms, a huge complimentary breakfast that accommodates international clients and a great staff. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone.

Great stay If you arrive after 8:00 dinner is pizza delivery only without a car. Rooms are very nice, beds are super. Breakfast and staff were wonderful.

WONDERFUL time at this hotel. Staff went above and beyond during the length of our stay. Staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Rooms were clean and quiet. We stayed at the Hampton Inn for only one night. We arrived at about 9:30 P.M., and left at about 7:45 A.M. It was a Saturday night. The desk clerk was very busy at check-in, answering the phone and doing several things at once. He was very pleasant, however, and asked if we wanted a wake-up call. I said yes and gave him a time. He was too busy to write […] down the time at that moment, so it isn't surprising that we didn't get a wake-up call. We set the clock-radio in the room as a backup, and that woke us up. It was very hard to figure out that clock, however. The bed was comfortable, but there was a huge bulky comforter on the beds, with no light blanket. It was too hot for the weather. There was a blanket in the closet. The air conditioner worked fine, and I also made use of the iron and the hair dryer. The soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathtub were a nice touch, easier to use than small bottles and cakes of soap. The breakfast buffet was delicious, similar to the ones in most hotels. Comfortable room and beds, family enjoyed the pool and hot tub, full hot and cold breakfast was very good, dining area atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, shuttle service to the airport was good.

the only thing is a little issue is that you must go to airport for tranportation to down town with train although they have free shuttle to airport anyway so over all great place great price

Stayed here in emergency, had booked a Thrifty car and this hotel is right next door ... clean, simple rooms, good staff... will stay again for sure!

This hotel is much better than I expected! The staff were all nice, hotel is very clean and new, many parking space, great complimentary breakfast, and free internet. This hotel even sell CTA pass if you need to take the CTA train or bus. I recommend this hotel very much!

The hotel was fine. One of the best things was that it was very close to O'Hare (and no, we couldn't hear any planes) and is right next door to the Thrifty car rental office. In fact it is the Thrifty shuttle bus which provides service to/from the airport. That is also where you get the Blue line subway/train, so if you don't need a car while in Chicago […] and don't want to stay downtown, this hotel should be high on your list. Breakfast was good: there were always Belgian waffles. A little disappointed not to have a fridge and microwave in my room, but we didn't spend much time there anyway. Big city hotels tend to care less and be a little less friendly, and not very clean. This place, the grounds were in order, the parking lot clean, the lobby clean... right away makes you feel like you made a good choice. The rooms were clean, no thought provoking stains or smells. The beds were better than home. Free parking, breakfast, wifi, and a […] computer and printer in the business center. Breakfast gave you some good options, and including something I haven't seen before, steamed rice and kimchi, for one? I tried it and it was good, I thought. The shuttle to the airport/blue line CTA train is free and is pretty much on demand. Throw the shuttle driver a few dollars, heck your saving at least $50-$100 if you took a cab. This place is a no-brainer, not a pampering luxury hotel, no views, or shops nearby, but it's good in more ways than one. Mehr

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean, rooms were very clean and the staff was always cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was nicely presented and very, very good. A very nice touch to just go downstairs and have a good breakfast and coffee at any time of the day or night.. The assistant manager was very helpful to us when a storm […] placed about 4" of water inside our car. He took the situation that looked very grim and got us on the road within an hour's time so we could make our visit to Rigley Field. He was also very helpful in retirieving lost pictures from our camera which was trashed in the storm. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. Mehr

overall i really like to stay in hampton inns BUT they really need to fix their AC asap since they are soo loud that you cant sleep.

We my daughter and I both agree that the star rating on this Inn is way to low. People that go by this indicator only would miss a really great place to stay. The morning staff at breakfast, was very pleasant and friendly.

The stay was very enjoyable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recomend staying here.

The Hampton Inn at O'hare was very comfortable with an excellent breakfast range. Good value for money and helpful staff.

The people were nice and the room was very comfortable. The overhead light in the bathroom was erratic but it was not a problem as there were plenty of other lights. It would have been nice to have two comfy chairs. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

The hotel was beautiful, clean, room was great, as was staff, pool, and breakfast buffet.

Hampton Inns are usually very good quality. This one was in all ways except for two major factors which need to be corrected. First, the room AC/heating system did not allow for a continuous fan to run. Thus, the AC system was coming on and off all night waking me with the ever changing noise levels. Hotel owners seem to forget that guest are paying […] for a good night's sleep. AC systems that allow a continuous fan to run provide a white noise that is essential for quiet--especially in hotels next to major roads. Second, the mattress sheets were too small for the mattress and kept coming off and wadding up under me--another factor which ruined a good night's sleep. Coffee in the lobby and other niceties are fine, but the bottom line is that when you do not get the sleep, its simply not worth it. Correct these factors and you would have a quality hotel. Mehr

The good: Very nice hotel and very very friendly staff. Breakfast was good too. Everything was kept very clean. Surroundings were ok, many fast food places. Close to the airport and shuttle service. The not so good: Internet was very slow (in the room) soundproofing of the window was terrible, all the traffic noise was inside.
