Royal Plaza Hotel - Lake Buena Vista

I was really worried reading a lot of the reviews on here. But was pleasantly surprised at how nice it really all was. I was upgraded to a Deluxe Tower room and it was great. The topmost floors have their own elevator, so I didn't have to wait for the others, which was good because the hotel was full for NYE. It was walking distance to Downtown Disney […] which was great because I avoided the crazy traffic. I didn't eat in the hotel restaurants, but there are main chain places just up the street. The front desk was very nice and the pool area was clean and well kept. I walked down the hallway to the pool thru the "traditional rooms" the ceilings there looked very small and it seemed a lot more noisy than where I was, so I'm glad I didn't stay there. Honestly, I'm very persnickety about cleanliness and noise, and I enjoyed my stay there very much and would stay there again. The ten dollars a night for parking is a bit much and getting out of the gates was a pain, but that is really the only complaint I can make about the place. Mehr

Walking distance from Downtown Disney. Free bus shuttle to all the parks every 30 minutes and until one hour after the park closes. Had a blast, cant beat the price for the location! One suggestion, make dinning reservations at least the day before if you don't want to wait upwards of 1 hours to eat at any of the resturant in downtown disney or at  […] epcot. Mehr

The Royal Plaza Hotel was a great place to stay while in Disney World this past Christmas. The room was extremeley clean, very close to all parks and walking distance from Downtown Disney. Great value!!!

This is an amazing hotel. From check in to check out, we didn't have any problems. It is right on the Disney Resort so everything is quick to get to. If you forgot anything they have a disney store right on sight for last minute purchases. We had a great stay and I will stay here again next time we are in town.

Hotel desk clerk was rude. Keeps interrupting me while I was talking. Room did not get cleaned until after 5 pm two days in a row. Booked the hotel for three nights. Walls must be very thin because we can hear everything. Very noisy. Will not stay there again and will not recommend to any of our family or friends.

We have stayed at many Downtown Disney hotels over the years and have never been gouged like we were at this hotel. Our parking was extra per day, our internet was extra per day, they served breakfast but we didn't have access with our room rate. My husband and I are early 60's in age and we were put on a floor with kids running and screaming everywhere. […] We had infants crying in the rooms on each side of us. I have never bought a discounted room before and really got a discounted room!! We felt like we got thrown in the back room by the dumpster. Mehr

Oveall the property was well kept. The lobby clean etc. However my room was small and simple things like a pen and a note pad were not provided. There is actually a good bus system from that area to the airport but I had to pull that information from the staff as they were pushing a $50 taxi service to the hotel. i worked in a hotel so I know the deal....the […] taxi company gives them a cut. This was the 2nd stay this year at the hotel, we like it and will stay again. The rate is very reasonable for being able to walk to downtown Disney. Nice rooms, and staff is excellent, and the hotel has all you need including a restaurant. They need to update their beds! The bed was too hard! The people were nice! Late check out was a plus!

This hotel is just fine for staying at a convenient place near Disney parks. It was clean too. However, I had a room connected to another room with a door in between that hardly served as cardboard. Could hear everything in the room next door. This was quite frustrating.

Spacious rooms, good shuttle service to the Disney Parks which runs every 30 minutes, close to Downtown Disney, good staff and overall service.

Coming from Miami, when we make the 3+ hour drive up to Orlando, it is usually for just the weekend, so we want to spend as little time possible at the hotel and as much at the park. We need a place that is comfortable, clean and close to the parks for a decent price. (we are not looking for fancy pools or luxury amenities) This place is it. The price was excellent and it was very conveniently located around the Disney parks. The transportation from the hotel and to the parks was excellent as well.

Location of hotel is excellent for all tourist events and restaurants. I would not recommend this hotel if you have small children (accomodations due not include microwave or refrig. in room which creates a problem if you should need to heat up something late at night. Also no vcr in rooms if your children are restless from a long day at the parks.

The only two problems were we had asked for more coffee each day cause we are coffee drinkers and had a hard time getting it and the day before we left our room was not serviced. Otherwise very pleasant stay

The bed was very comforable. Prices in Grab-N-Go were reasonable. The air conditioner had a problem and drained into the bathroom (through the ceiling), but the maintenance man fixed the problem quickly.

Good hotel for the money

Visit was fine. Clean rooms. Good food in resturant. Hotel good location. Everthing was very well.

Best thing about is location and hotel looks clean.

This was my second time staying at the hotel. The Hotel was clean, quiet and is close to all attractions. I frequent the HOB for concerts and this is one my favorite places to stay.

Very convenient shuttle service. Room was spacious with large bed and awesome hot tub and shower. Great price for room with many other comparisons in the area. Highly recommend.

We found the Hotel to be just O K but feel that it is beginning to feel its age. The lifts need to be replaced as they are certainly showing their age. They work but are very noisy especially if your room is adjacent to them. We were kept awake all night with the banging noise which we discovered the next morning was the lifts. This is my favorite hotel to stay in by Disney. The price is always reasonable, the location is GREAT, the room is comfortable, updated, and just nice, there is an area to grab some breakfast, lunch, or drinks on the way anywhere, and everything works out good when staying there. I've stayed there 3 times, I think? I've stayed in 2 hotels in the area […] and a few Disney resorts. This is close enough when coming late out of Magic Kingdom and tired, I never regret it. The Disney hotels are nice, but very expensive, and I will resort-hop to visit and dine in the restaurants, etc if I want for those. This hotel is definitely on my list to stay in 100s of times whenever possible. (I live 1 hr drive away and come to Disney OFTEN.) Mehr

We had an executive suite. Separate area for adults to sleep. Very quiet. Only comment is they need to update the furniture, especially the tv's. Hotel staff very friendly!! Would stay here again.

Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) enjoyed staying in Royal Plaza hotel: comfortable, nice, good restaurant and very convenient transportation to all Disney parks what saved money (no need to rent a car). I would recommend this hotel to everyone who plan vacation in Orlando Disney World!

The only comment is that I wish the management would hold the staff accountable for service; if you're going to charge 18% gratuity on EVERYTHING, at least make the effort to provide that level of service.

Didn't know we were staying in the old Annex part of the hotel & not the main building.

This hotel is 300 yards to downtown Disney Shuttels to park and amusements are free from Disney Stay clear of the discount lady selling time shares from Sheraton for discount tickets

GREAT LOCATION AND VERY HELPFUL EMPLOYEES. JUST STARTED BUFFET BREAKFAST AND FOOD WASN'T KEPT HOT ENOUGH BUT I'M SURE THEY WILL WORK THE KINKS OUT. MAID DID NOT CLEAN COFFEE MAKER OR CUP I USED ON SATURDAY AM NOR DID SHE SUPPLY MORE COFFEE. ALSO SHOWER CURTAIN OR HEAD NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED SO WATER DOESN'T SPILL ONTO FLOOR. My only complaint was the carpets of corridor not clean. Service friendly but inpersonal. Rooms perfect.

i must say it's a very nice hotel, just off the highway. what put a damper on our trip was the hidden charges everywhere. Ten dollars per day for WIFI!! 8 dollars resort fee. 14 dollars breakfast. I had booked the room to include breakfast, and was informed the following morning that i had to pay again. 14 dollars per person. You go to any best western […] and you get breakfast and wifi free! Anyway in order to prove that i had pre-booked breakfast they insisted that i had to go online and show my email confirmation, in the process charging me ten dollars for the internet. Good location for this hotel. Easy access to all Disney attractions. Price was good and the room was clean and attractive. Staff was attentive to our needs because we were traveling with a baby.

Charging for parking, refrigerator, wi-fi and limited TV channels were the negitives. roof leaks thru out building. Laundry room only access from outside the building. So you get wet when it's raining .Also you must use tokens which you had to get from lobby because machine in laundry was broken. The employees were all nice and helpful. *Problem with […] transportation Disney's bus #7313 at the park. Driver left us in the rain for 45 mins.while he set in the bus waiting for the flat tire to be changed. Mehr

There are several hotels in the downtown Disney area and I have stayed at a few of them. The price was initially attractive but after resort and parking fees were added, it was just as or more expensive than other hotel deals at the time. The service was hit and miss.
