"4 Tage in NO"Bewertet von Katrin K. aus "Stuttgart, Germany" am 31. Mrz. 2012

"Good time in nawlins"
It was good overall for the price.
"Historic and close to a 4-star"
The Historic French Market Inn is a quaint, cool, old hotel with a cool vibe. Location is great, away from the noise of the French Quarter but very easy to walk to, within 3 blocks. The courtyard(s) are the best part of the hotel and a good place to meet people. Staff was very nice but the cleaning carts seemed to always be in the way of the stairs […] and/or the elevator. A few pieces of art on the walls would go a long way to warming up the rooms. My wife & I still liked it a lot and would consider staying there again! Mehr
"Great place to be close to everything"
The staff were particularly helpful. The location is great. The price was right.

"good location…not so clean room"
The location was great. However our room was not ready until after 4:30. That is 30 minutes later than the stated check-in time. The receptionist seemed annoyed about us wanting our room. The room was clean but the carpet and bathtub were scary dirty! For a few more dollars I would have paid for a cleaner room at another hotel. But if you are going […] just for the location, stay here. Mehr
"Hotel needs work"
We stayed in an interior room that smelled musty. Needs to be updated. No hot water after the first day. Maids failed to make up room after the first day. Dark, dank room, crumbling brickwork, poor state of repair.
"Great Stay"
Was an amazing stay! The hotel staff was super nice and the quality/cleanliness of the room was outstanding. Originally booked the room just for the location but will stay here again without question. Would highly recommend this hotel to others.
"Love the location and history"
I liked the Inn and am aware that they are upgrading continually now that it is under new management. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. This was my first experience in a room without a view, and I enjoyed being able to sleep in without light waking me. I would like to stay here again and will definitely look […] forwad to seeing the improvements the next time I'm in New Orleans. The location was perfect for someone wanting to walk about in the Quarter and have a room close by for rest and refreshment. Mehr
"Good location... Bad conditiono"
A great location; folks generally nice. However, it took 10 minutes for the water to get hot in the morning. I also did not get my wake up call on the day of checkout. I almost missed my flight. I will avoid staying here again if I can find any other options.
"Great location"
Had a wonderfully time in NOLA. The French Market Inn was great and would defenetly refer it and will stay there again. Thank you for all your assistance.
"Great location"
For the price the hotel was a good value. The location was great for me. The only thing I would suggest is that the lobby walls need to be wash down...I say coffee stains on the wall. Also a nice restroom in lobby would do well the restroom off the back office was horrible. But I did enjoy my stay and will stay again.
"French Market Inn"
What a great location! It was perfect for our short stay in the French Quarter, during French Quarter Jazz Festival. Wonderful!!
"Awesome New Orleans hotel location"
What a wonderful old 1700's hotel right in the middle of all the French Quarter action. Walk to the Mississippi River Boat Rides, Casino, Riverwalk Shopping Mall, French Quarter Market, Burboun Street only 3 blocks over. So many nice gift shops, Taverns and restaurants in walk distance. Very friendly staff. Small but quaint rooms but that's the 1700's […] look, a bed and an updated bathroom. Nice court-yard to sit and enjoy your coffee or drinks. Mehr
"French Market Hotel in New Orleans"
We stayed here during the 2012 Final Four basketball tournament. It is centrally located -- within 10 min. walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The courtyard setting is very charming.
"French Market Inn"
The French Market Inn was such a pleasant experience. The staff was more than friendly and accommodating. The rooms weren't quite what I expected (a little dated), but otherwise very comfortable stay....especially in an area where you don't plan on staying in the room much. Courtyard areas were gorgeous. Can't wait to go back and see the renovation […] s! Mehr

"Nice hotel, but renovations in progress"
Our room was very bare bones and shabby; however for the price and location, we could hardly complain. The best thing about the French Market Inn is that they have a resident cat, Patrick, who roams the courtyards and greets the guests. It is also steps from Jackson Square and there is a great little coffee shop downstairs. It definitely has some serious […] New Orleans charm to it and does set the tone for a fun, sometimes maybe eery-feeling, visit. While it may not necessarily be my first choce in the future, I would not disqualify staying there again. Mehr
"Hotel staff"
Hotel staff was great. They took care of all our needs. Location was absolutly perfect. Would stay again.
"Historic, Cute & Comfy"
We had a very pleasant stay at the French Market Inn. We love staying at historic, landmark hotels and this definitely fits the bill. It was first built in the 1700's and is located in an ideal area in the French Quarter. The room rates were very affordable; especially when compared to the surrounding hotels. I will say, if you're picky about "old" […] buildings or renovation projects then this may not be the place for you. However, if you enjoy the quaint, scenic and historic atmospheres of these type of hotels then you'll love it. No noise issues, bugs, or staff problems. I loved the Community Coffee store that was adjacent to the lobby! And look out for Patrick; the orange Tabby cat that walks the grounds and rests on the 2nd floor over looking one of the lovely courtyards! He's friendly and watches over his domain - no rat problem there! All of the staff were super helpful and friendly. Will be back to stay again next time we're in NOLA. Mehr
"Great location. Hot and cold front desk."
This hotel has a great location. Our room on the 4th floor was HUGE. Very comfortable but could have used some more furnishings. There is construction going on but it really did not bother us much. The front desk was very helpful on some occasions and almost dismissive on others. it all seemed to depend upon who was on. We would stay there again because […] of the location. The construction was proceeding slowly but will be done someday. As for the front desk .... I hope that all become as helpful as an evening/night clerk was. Mehr

"Not too bad..."
Great old building. Great location. Good service and competitive price. But the mattresses totally sucked, very uncomfortable, and the lack of wi-fi access was disappointing.
"Great location!"
Truthfully, I didn't spend much time at the hotel but it was a convenient place to return to when I was done checking out the town. The room was nice and recently updated. The only thing I didn't like the elevator; It didn't exactly work consistently. I'd absolutely stay there again.
"IT IS NOLA !!"
this hotel is what NOLA is all about! Location, decor, and overall feel of the place has French Quarter written all over it!!!
"Historic French Market Inn- worst service ever"
I never write reviews but have to on this one. Front desk girls were not too friendly. Stayed all over NOLA and I don't recommend this hotel. Only one elevator an it only works 1/4 of the time. Valet takes forever
"OK"
It's cheap and at a good location. There's no breakfast or internet access (not even in the lobby, where it's supposed to work). Some walls are brick-only, no plaster. The rooms have internal windows to the corridors and the curtains don't always cover the whole window for privacy. Not much soundproofing and wooden floors mean that if the bed next room […] is shaking, you feel it. Otherwise, very clean and tidy, staff was polite and helpful. Mehr
"New Orleans"
Awesome.
"French Market Inn"
Great location and very nice front desk personnel. Inn is being up re-modeled and should be better when finished. I would not take the lower price room, but would recommend the up-grade to a suite on the court yard, great location for the French Market, and river.
"The hotel was very close to French Quarter"
The hotel was convenient to many attractions in and arround the French Quarter, however, there were old mini blinds on the window which were falling apart and let all the sun in in mornings. There were no bedspreads on the beds. A new coat of paint, some room darkening drapes would go a long way on improving the room. The room was very clean though […] . Mehr
"A romantic long weekend"
Great location in the heart of it and yet far enough away from Boubon Street to be quiet enough to sleep. We had an interior room, which wasn't bad since it helped us sleep in after late nights. Cool exposed brick walls in the room. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation, but we weren't bothered by any construction noise. The service and professionalism […] shown by the front desk was exceptional. 4 star service and as soon as the renovation is done, the physical hotel will be there too! Mehr
"Great Location - Not great rooms -"
The little hotel used to be our favorite. It is located in a perfect place and is a quaint little boutique hotel. HOWEVER - it has been under construction forever - room are way over priced. I think they thought if they just put new caulk in the tubs and a flat screen - they could say it was renovated - still needs a lot of work. Won't return
"Great Location, but pretty loud!"
The hotel was in a GREAT location.. honestly, I think it was one of the better places to stay in terms of convenience - it was right next door to one of the best food places in town! I was promised a river-view room, but wound up with a courtyard room and I think I enjoyed that more. The court yard itself was beautiful.. and while my room was TINY […] (they all are), I was comfortable. I was in a recently reno'ed room and it was clean :). I would suggest bringing your own pillows.. and your earplugs. You can hear EVERYTHING in that hotel... including what's happening outside your door and inside the adjoining room. All in all, it is a historical hotel so you can't expect all your requirements to be met - but the staff is friendly, and the hotel is small. Oh, and NO refridgerators OR microwaves available to customers... kind of a bummer because we had to bring an ice-chest. Mehr
"minus 3 star"
the rooms are dark. There were no mirrors other than a tiny one over the sink. Peeling paint and shabby furniture (if your room has anything other than a bed.) Old worn carpet. No internet. No lobby. No bar. The Staff is very nice and that is the only redeeming feature of my experience. Since I prepaid, I was really stuck there. I will NEVER use Hotels.com […] again Mehr
"Good location but loud neighbors"
I stayed at this hotel one night, and it was conveniently located. The only issue we had was that the walls were so thin you we could hear people talking in the courtyard outside, and we could hear the tv in the room next door while we were trying to sleep.
"Historic French Market hotel is great"
but will be even nicer when refurbishment is finished. Very convenient location
"Motel stay in New Orleans"
Room was hot. Ants in room, and bed uncomfortable. Wasn't very clean. Noisey-because room faced street. If we would of had a room that was off the court yard it would of been better for the noise. Location was great.
"Great location"
The hotel is great right across from cafe du monde but seriously, someone has got to do something about the water!!! It was either scalding hot and melting my skin or freezing cold and causing hypothermia. Other than that, the hotel was great and the staff was too.
"Cold shower"
Great room. Only problem was the shower was freezing. Water would not warm up.
"Historic French Market Inn - Perfect Location"
The hotel is ideally located within the French quarter within walking distance of major landmarks. The staff was very friendly and we will stay in that hotel next time we are in New Orleans. If you have a car, add about $35 per day as street parking is limited to 2 hours and spots are scarce.
"Nice hotel clerk, small room and lots of noise"
Jenna, the hotel clerk, was very nice and professional. But the room was quite small for two people. The music blaring across the street from a souvenir shop was a nuisance, but nothing compared to the street construction that kicked in right outside our window at 7 a.m., two days in a row! Also, it took us about a half-hour to get our car from the […] parking garage two blocks away. Good location if you don't mind the noise and small rooms. Mehr

"The French Market Inn - Romantic and Old World"
The French Market Inn was cool because of the Colonial French architecture, romantic courtyards, and very close proximity to excellent restaurants. The room was pretty clean, but a little bit on the bare side. It did, however, have everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The Inn was also uder renovation, so it all wasn't in the best condition. […] Overall the place was beautiful and well worth the authentic colonial experience . Mehr
"historic french market inn"
Thought this was a great hotel. Staff was very friendly, just blocks away from pretty much everything in the french quarter. Room was small, but was nice. No complaints at all. Great stay.
"French Market Inn - too old to be quaint"
This hotel was extremely disappointing. The bed was so old that you could feel the springs in the mattress. The had a waterfront view which means you can see the river, but there is a large parking lot in between where everyone to participate in the night life. Our room was on the third so we heard everyone on the street below. The noise woke us up […] at 3:00 am. At about 4:00 am there were shots fired around the block. I looked out the window in time to see one guy coming from that direction and still yelling back at whomever he was fighting with. I could hear others yelling, "Let's get out of here". The following morning it was an adventure trying to control the water to take a shower. It was either too cold or scalding hot. Two hours later, my brother in law and nephew took cold showers because there wasn't any hot water. They stayed at the hotel and had the same problem the next two mornings. We changed hotels to the Sheraton and enjoyed the remainder of our vacation. The staff with hotels.com was extremely helpful when it came to canceling our final three nights at this hotel and moving to the Sheraton. Thank you hotels.com Mehr
"Hotel Not Worth Price"
For the price per night, there are far nicer places to stay. Parking is not free, and for what it costs to park, you can stay in a hotel that has far more amenities, a larger room, and is updated. I will pay more per night next time to have a decent size room. There was nothing deluxe about the room. Overall, we were not happy with our stay.
"convenient but removed"
This quaint hotel is within walking distance of the convention center (but trolley by the river is closer and goes to the convention center) and/or the French Quarter. The Camellia Grill is just around the corner and offers good basic food (with breakfast any time) in an old diner environment (nothing fancy here but the prices are right). The Gumbo […] Pot down by the river also is a very casual place for breakfast and other meals. My room in the hotel was quite small with a kingsize bed and no windows. The safety lock had been broken off, but that did not seem to be a big issue in this small, quaint place. Front desk staff were very helpful. Mehr
