über hotels com hatten wir "de luxe Zimmer mit Meerblick" d.h. die teuerste Kategorie gebucht. Die Zimmer, die wir vor Ort bekommen sollten, hatten vom Blick her allerdings nichts mit dem Abbildungen auf der Buchungsseite zu tun, sondern waren echt enttäuschend: dunkel, keine Weite sondern halber Blick auf die Betonwand der alten Fabrik nebenan.. an old school luxury hotel with charme. vey well maintained, this hotel offers comfortable rooms and a very friendly staff. visit the spa of the hotel, with ocean view. i would recommend this hotel for an honeymoon as well as for a weekend trip.

Most great sights are within walking distance. All the staff we encountered were pleasant. Great value.

I enjoyed the hotel very much. One comment, though. It was necessary to take two different elevators to get to our rooms, and we were required to travel directly through the meeting room area. When the group having the meeting had a break, it was difficult to get down the hall. On the floor where our rooms were located, there was a maze of short hallways […] and identical doors. There were five in my party. Each of us at one time or another ended up walking in circles trying to locate the elevator near our room. We all felt stupid, but we also wondered why there were no signs on that floor to direct us. Isn't a sign with an arrow to the elevator easy to put up? That being said, the hotel was beautiful, and the location was very convenient. The hotel food was also very good. Mehr

Lovely hotel and location. Not suitable for kids as they can't use the pool and spa facilities - this wasn't obvious to us when we boooked so avoid the same disappointment if you are a family.

We had luxury, service, convenience, and a beautiful location. Couldn't have asked for more.

Very glad that I splurged and got the ocean view room with a balcony. I highly recommend this. It was a significant bonus to be able to open the balcony doors when we went to bed and enjoy the continuous sound of the surf pounding against the shore. Yes, a lovely view, too, but the soothing sound made it truly magical. Very pretty hotel, terrific location […] (right on Cannery Row!), and a friendly, professional staff. Only thing that could have been better was the bed, which was a bit stiff...but my back prefers a little cushion. Mehr

Excelent overall. Perfect location and go with ocean view balcony room it was worth every penny. We watched otters and seals right out in front of the balcony. Only small complaint was the slow service in the Schooners restaurant, would have expected it to be better especially considering breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children was nearly $100. Hotel is conveniently located on Cannery Row next to shopping and short walking distance to Aquarium. The hotel has a restaurant located on the lower level that serves top quality food. We ate both dinner and breakfast and the food was spectacular. Better than any other restaurant we tried in Monterey. It was fun watching otters right along the hotel […] balcony. I stayed here with my family for two nights and it was superb. Waking up and having coffee out on a sun filled terraced was the icing on the cake. Perfect location. We didn't have to use the car. Staff courteous, perfect location and oatmeal cookies at their coffe shop yummy!!

for my family and i to stay in a hotel as nice as this was we felt like we were living up for a night and everyone in the hotel was extremely friendly. my only regret is that i didnt pay the extra for an ocean view. awesome experience!!!!!!

Wonderful hotel in the middle of it all. Did the cheap room (no ocean view) but it was still amazing. They don't skimp on anything. The valet guys, check desk, concierge, etc. The best part was the staff at Schnooers (sp?). They were wonderful to me & my family. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Monterey. Perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at the Monterey Hotel and Spa. It was relaxing, beautiful and located very close to everything.

This is the one folks... I travel alot, and ive seen um' all... This is a true gem. Picked it by accident as a bday present to myself. From the waves crashing at my balcony with champagne that first night to the tasty breakfast in bed facing the pacific the next morning, it was a slice of heaven. Rivals any island hotel for panache'. Staff trips over […] themselves to be helpful and to not disturb. A real rarity these days. Well done Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa, you rocked! Mehr

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous view, excellent waterfront restaurant. Best of all the concierge knew my nane checking out and I never met him, impressive. I would stay again.

Where to begin. We've stayed in Monterey several times and try to be conservative but this time we splurged. It was worth it, from the valet parking to the front desk to the staff, all worked in unison. While we didn't have the ocean view, our room was quite and very clean. I will be staying here again.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Monterey. It was within walking distance to restaurants, the Aquarium and shopping. I can not say enough good things about the staff. Every single staff member we encountered was absolutely WONDERFUL and very helpful. I hope to visit Monterey again and The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is where […] I plan to stay! Mehr

I've traveled across the country and stayed at a variety of different hotels of all star ratings and I must say that this Hotel & Spa was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, polite, and considerate to every need we had. The room was emmaculate and the view was breath taking. My wife and I just stayed at this hotel last weekend and the service is outstanding. every person was extremely courteous and helpful. Great location, beautiful view. One word of advise. Book a room with ocean view and if possible with a balcony. The inland view room will have you looking at other other guest rooms. This is a wonderful hotel. It's right on the water, close to the Aquarium, and ideal for exploring Cannery Row. I misread 'inland view', thinking it said 'island view'. The rooms are first rate. You can see otters and dolphins right from your 'ocean view' room. The food is excellent. The staff was the best. I couldn't have asked for anything better […] . Mehr

We really enjoyed our stay at The Monterey Plaza Hotel. We loved the location. We ate several meals at the newly opened Schooner's Restaurant. The food was great. We always prefer self parking. It makes it much easier when you have to go back and forth to your car when you need or have forgotten something but the valet worked okay.

Beautiful lobby overlooking Monterey Bay. Room was spacious with comfy robes provided. Room had unobstructed ocean view. Had drinks and appetizers in the Hotel Bar, nice selection of wines and creative appetizers served at table with great views. Staff were excellent and friendly.

Spent a few days in Monterey. Beautiful weather and great scenery. Be forewarned that you must put lots of quarters in the meters in order to park near any place that is an attraction. This is true all over Cannery Row, the Wharf and downtown. We spent more on meters than we did on breakfast. But they are nice meters.

If you can afford it, stay here! This place is so beautiful. Had an ocean view balcony room on 2nd floor (which has the largest balconies) and it was wonderful. Watched otters swim by from our room. Close to cannery row, but also just far enough away. You get what you pay for...so if you can afford it, this is a great place.

Great location but make sure you stay on the main building. The skywalk to the other side is a bit awkward.

I will definitely return to this lovely hotel with its comfortable accommodations, helpful staff, very good restaurant and ideal location.
