Economy Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids - Cedar Rapids

Everything was satisfactory at this facility.

The place was filthy. We purchased two rooms for two days but let after one night and went to a different hotel.

we recently stayed at the Economy Inn and Suites in Cedar Rapids. While the location is very nice, the hotel is less than stellar. - there were old mattresses and furniture outside the building, the entry on the side of the building had issues with the entry - obviously had been jimmied open at some point. there are signs every where telling what you […] should not do.. the continental breakfast includes waffles - of course they are the frozen ones not fresh. the staff is very numerous - kind of overwhelming actually to walk in to see many staff members at the front desk - not all speaking english. i was just out of the shower in the morning they knocked to clean - i peaked out in my towel - and 5 people were starring at me - do you need anything? - i said no not now - ok you are staying do you need anything... i said no and she left - later i told her ok we will be out of the room in a few minutes so you can clean - oh you said you didnt need anything.. ha! misunderstanding... so anyway - like 1 minutes later when we were just about done and leaving - in came 3 of them and started to clean - could they not have waited 2 minutes until we were gone???? Decent place for 1 night stay. Breakfast was minimal, but fine, nonethless. Pool was pretty chilly...disappointing since we wanted to swim with the kids. Hot tub , covered up with a wooden deck...inoperational. BIG dissapointment to kids and myself. Room was clean and adequate, though.

Room was as expected, a little less then we usually spend so it was about exactly what you pay for.

Overall this was a nice basic motel surrounded by fast food, gas, and interstate ramps. My only complaint was the poor qualityof the carpeting. The pad had in my room had huge lumps in it which made walking an adventure.

We were allowed to check in early! The hotel was beautiful and VERY clean! We thoroughly enjoyed our room and had plenty of space with 2 adults and 2 children. The breakfast was the best on our trip!

I booked at this hotel for a few more bucks because I wanted a hot tub. I got there, and it was drained and being worked on. That was a major disappointment. Then I tried to get on the internet. After about an hour of trying and calling the front desk, I gave up. Watched a movie, then it started to work.... slowly. The next morning when I took my shower, […] the tub filled up with water because of the slow drain, and again with the internet. Needless to say that I wasn't happy about things. When I walked out and saw the hotel across the street offering free high speed, indoor pool/hot tub for almost half the price I was very upset. Mehr

Only disappointment was in the rather ragged condition of some of the furniture and carpeting. But everything worked, the free internet was wonderful, bed good, service fine, quiet, and right off freeway. Also liked having a microwave & refridgerator, and lots of TV channels. For the money, an excellent buy.

Hotel staff was great. I read a sign stating I would be charged for a list of items if they were gone. I checked and there was no alarm clock. I told the desk I didn't have one and not to charge me. Come to find out it was under the end-table along with some garbage. The area was quiet but the walls are thin so don't bring kids unless they are heavy […] sleepers. Mehr

This room was fine based on the fact that we just needed a place to sleep. Wouldn't want to stay multiple nights because it's bare-bones, but really nothing wrong with the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was a lot better than other places I've paid more for.
