Erzsebet Hotel City Center - Budapest

Eigentlich alles sehr nett, aber bei Temperaturen von über 30 Grad im Zimmer im heißen April vergeht die Urlaubsfreude. Die Klimaanlage wird leider erst ab 1. Mai in Betrieb genommen - das sind sozialistische Überbleibsel!

Das Hotel liegt in einer sehr guten Gegend und ist in unmittelbarer Nähe von vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten.

The location of the hotel is very central and the hotel service is good. We did not think that the comfort of the beds meet the standard you could expect and a double bed consisted of two single beds and two madrasses put together which we were unhappy with. Wir hatten 2 Nächte im Hotel Erzsebeth, Budapest. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Die Fussgängerzone , die Vàci-Str. liegt gleich um die Ecke, ebenso das wunderschöne Café Central mit freiem Wifi- Zugang. Das Hotel hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis (ausser Wucherpreise für Internetzugang), das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig, der Empfang ist sehr […] freundlich und das Personal entgegenkommend. Das Hotel ist sauber die Zimmer eher klein; wir reisten mit 2 grossen Koffern und damit war der Platz im Zimmer aufgebraucht. Der Busservice zum Flughafen hat perfekt geklappt. Ich kann das Hotel mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Mehr

Perhaps it may be a few years since it was refurbished, but everything is still in good working order. For the money this hotel was everything we could have hoped for, and the location is absolutely brilliant. Main shopping street Vaci Utca is about five minutes walk, as is Raday Utca - a road filled with bars, pubs and restaurants. There are plenty […] of nice bars on the same road as the hotel meaning there is very little walking necessary if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Our stay did not include breakfast and so I cannot comment on the food, but would happily recommend the hotel to any budget to mid-range travellers. Mehr

I had stayed in this hotel about 10 years ago. December 2011 we stayed again and it is need of refurbishment. The location and neighborhood is fine and the price was good, but the rooms really need to be redone.

rooms too small really, our room was also very grubby, it needed to be painted badly. it seems the rooms are all allocated to smokers, as i could smell it when i walked in, even though non smoking was asked for. hotel staff were very helpful. good location. price wise it was ok for the money.

I have stayed in this hotel about 8 times over the past 3 years. The staff is very polite, they speak very good English and they are always willing to help with any issues. The hotel is conveniently located a couple of minutes from the subway stop. The rooms are always clean and adequate. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!

It was ia semi luxurious hotel, whith friendly, english speaken staff. The beds was big and comfortable. The breakfust buffe was ok, not enormous but lot of different things to eat and drink.

It is a good value for the money, with good location.

Lots of folks have this hotel rated higher, but for a hotel to be rated a four would take some extras. The Erzsebet has no extras. That being said, the location is truly outstanding, and makes the hotel the top choice for budget conscious travelers. The minibar prices are very reasonable, but I already had gone to the store for supplies before checking […] out the prices. There is plenty of room in the fridge for purchased items. At the time of my stay, they offered a 6 euro breakfast buffet if purchased at time of check-in for every morning of your stay. Didn't want to eat there every morning, so I paid the full price of 8 euros a couple times. Be careful of the dishes. Many look merely wiped rather than washed, and I accidentally used what turned out to be a disgusting plate by accident. (After eating off of it I found a huge chunk of dried scrambled eggs glued onto the bottom.) Not all hotels in this price range offer showers and air conditioning, so these are nice benefits. It's only a 10 minute stroll to the Central Market, and is close to everything else that you want to see while in Pest. Go for the excellent location and price, but don't expect too much more. Mehr

Hotel Erzsebet is centrally located, within 3 minutes of the metro stop. The rooms are clean, the staff is very helpful. Great hotel to spend a few days in.

The location of the hotel close to Erzsebet Bridge was fantastic. Within easy reach of both Astoria and Ferenciel Tere Metro stations. It gives an idea base to explore the city. I shared a twin room with my son during our stay. Not the largest of rooms but clean and comfortable with satelite tv. The hotel staff were really helpful helping us with […] our travel arrangements and always available. The breakfast buffet was always fully stocked and great value. My only criticism would be the lack of free wifi in the hotel rooms, this I had to purchase separately. All in all it was great value in a great location and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on my next trip. Mehr

The Erzsebet Hotel was close to the centre of town so it was easy to access shops, restaurants, etc. Staff were really helpful in organsing wake upcalls, taxi, take away breakfast, etc. Breakfast was fine and a mel we had at the hotel was really good

I have stayed at the Erzsebet several times since 2001 and have had complaints in the past. Since the recent refurbishment the hotel has improved exponentially. The staff were especially helpful and friendly and this hotel now represents excellent value in a superb location.

I stayed in a room with two twin beds with a friend. It smelled a bit like sulfur, but was clean looking with a functional bathroom (how shower, good pressure). Not a place you want to "hang out," but totally sufficient for visiting a city since you're out all day long anyhow! The location is awesome, 2 minute walk from Ferenciek tere metro stop, close […] to the Danube. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous. Just half a block from Central Kavehaz, which was a place I hung out a lot when I went to University in Budapest years ago. Not a wow! but definitely satisfactory. Mehr

Location very good. You have to ask for clean towel and soap. TV has only 4 channels. BBC1 and 3 german channels. Small room, which is OK. Lot's of noise from street during night.

This hotel is perfect if you plan to spend your days in Budapest and only have a nice place to stay. Everything in good condition, only the bedding was a little suspicious. I recently spent four days in Budapest at the Erzsebet Hotel, which I booked through Hotels.ca. The hotel is very convenient location in the 'old city' in a quiet, clean street; only steps away from quality dinning, quaint coffee shops, respectable bars and shopping (as well as many historical sites). The hotel is very modern, with spacious, clean rooms […] (mine was a large single). The lobby, restaurant and hallways are all well appointed and spotless. The quality of service provided by the hotel staff was quite exceptional. The front desk staff were very professional and helpful. Both the front end staff and the cleaning staff always expressed a friendly greeting whenever I encountered them in my comings and goings from the hotel. Of particular note was my experience at checkout. I used my credit card to pay for an extra day accommodation, as the first three days were prepaid. Absent mindedly, I left my credit card on the front desk counter and proceeded to the bus stop to catch a bus to the railways station. As I stood at the bus stop, which is three blocks from the hotel, one of the hotel staff came running up with my forgotten credit card. Had run the distance to make sure that I got the card and avoided the worry and inconvenience of canceling the card for the rest of my trip. This is definitely "exceptional service." Of all the hotels that I stayed in while travelling across three EU countries, this was definitely the best. Its three star rating undervalues the true quality and service of this hotel. Mehr

I was only there for a few says, hotel is quite centrally located and you could pretty much walk to central town - about a 10 min walk, Also close to the main tourist street - about a 5 min walk. If you want to use the internet -just go to the central cafe ( next door), where there's free wifi and you can stay as long as you like. Hotel charges about […] 8 euros an hour. Besides that - nothing to complain really. Late checkouts are charged ( I got free 2 hours) - but there is a safe room where you leave your belongings. Just a important note about budapest in general - Great place, nice people. Just beware of the taxi drivers though. Unless you have a reputed company, (ask locals). Don't let anyone to book a taxi for you including hotel staff. Use your phone. Because they always call these rogue taxis ( they are on commission) which will cost you an arm and a leg. there are lots of traps around the city. Innocent looking girls come and talk to you and lead you seedy joints who rip you off! My trip was great, but I let my gaurd down on the last day when the waiter in the restaurant offered to get a taxi for me!! - cost me about 7 times normal fare. I just asked him to stop the taxi and paid him whatever and got off and used my phone to call the reliable one. Mehr

The staff are extremely helpful and sensitive to requests. Rooms are not that comfortable... Espresso, Cappuchino are served during breakfast from a self operated machine - If you want it to be from the bar machine - it costs extra (why???) The overall impression is very very cost effective!!

over for weekend visiting student, found hotel in good central location near all tourist options, friendly staff, clean basic room, for this price, great value will stay again. plenty nice cafes and bars near by but not much in the hotel itself

Great value hotel and very central. Check in was faultless. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Rooms were small but no real issues. The air con was okay but could have been cooler. Many great attractions and areas were within minutes. The metro is 2 minutes away. A 24 hour supermarket is next to the metro. A great breakfast can be had on or around […] Dob Utca, 10 minutes stroll away. Other places were closer, including the Central Coffee House (but was closed at the start of August 2010). One superb thing during August was at the Radisson Hotel. They are celebrating 25 years and have created such outstanding cakes it's unbelievable. Have the dark chocolate, caramel and pear. It is simply the best cake we've ever eaten (and we've eaten some!). Budapest was great. Mehr

Amazing location and really friendly staff - can't fault it, especially for the price!

Despite a couple of not so great reviews, 3 friends and I chose this hotel for a 5 day break in Budapest. We did not have any of the problems previously reported such as poor heating or lack of amenities, and the room size was perfectly fine. The hotel is in a great location and we could walk to most of the sights easily. When we needed to catch a tram […] or metro, these were also close to the hotel. Breakfast was great (we paid for breakfasts at check-in which resulted in a discount), staff were sufficiently helpful and the hotel was very clean. Would definitely recommend. Mehr

Very rude staff, stuffy room with no climate control, everything in the hotel was very overpriced, and we never felt welcome once the entire time we stayed there. I would pass this one up and spend your money somewhere else. If you do stay here, don't judge the attitude of the staff as the attitude of hungarians in general. was only staying one night. was perfect for me as it was also just 2 or 3 stops on the bus to the train station and also pretty central in Pest.Only thing that was wrong was the AC or lack of it.It can be hot in Budapest in july,AC would've been nice.AC Machine was not working.

Hotel centrale e vicino alla metro ma sul punteggio finale meglio altro!!! Molto cortesi ma anche molto disonesti!! la colazione da evitare e per quel poco che hanno a disposizione molto cara. attenzione al conto finale e alle aggiunte che mettono....camera estremamente calda (8 piano) e niente area condizionata!!

Suomalais-ruotsalais-saksalaisten suosima hotelli. Hyvällä paikalla ja helpot yhteydet julkisilla ympäri kaupunkia. Huoneet oli siistit, mutta hiukan kuluneet. Aamupalan hinta oli suurempi, kuin täällä ilmoitettu - siitä miinusta. Respasta sai hyviä vinkkejä tapahtumista ympäri kaupunkia. Suosittelen!

Το ξενοδοχείο ήταν άψογο, άνετο, καθαρό και σε τέλεια τοποθεσία. Επίσης είχε wi-fi και πολύ καλό πρωϊνό (μπουφέ). Με το που φτάσαμε πήραμε το πακέτο για το πρωϊνό με 6ευρώ τη μέρα. Σημαντικό πλεονέκτημα ήταν ότι, το βράδυ μπορούσαμε να γυρίσουμε με τα πόδια από την εβραϊκή συνοικία, όπου συνήθως καταλήγαμε. Ένα μικρό μειονέκτημα είναι ότι η ταπετσαρία […] σους τοίχους ήθελε λίγο καθάρισμα, αλλά αν δεν την πρόσεχες δε θα το καταλάβαινες. Mehr
