Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-San Jose Int'l Airport - San José

Needs some updating but overall a decent value..

HI Express San Jose is nice, modest, and straight forward. Wifi here is faster than the average hotel free wifi thanks to their password protected access. Rooms were suite-sized. The surrounding area is located in a hotel row district just 5 minutes away from San Jose Airport.

It was a great deal for its price. The staff was very helpful. Hotels.com made a mistake in booking my room with them and booked me with a smoking room. When I showed my booking confirmation to the lady, she quickly changed our room to a nonsmoking one with a smile. Our room was nice. Linens and towels were fresh. The bed was comfortable. There was […] a small fridge and a microwave which was perfect because I had to bring milk for my daughter and food for my family while they stayed in the hotel during my convention. The only complaint I had was the AC in our room was a little temperamental. One hour we will be shivering, the next we're sweating underneath our blankets. Thus the 4 star. But everything else was great! Their breakfast was not the best, but given that me and my family only really eat oatmeal and eggs in the morning almost everyday anyway, it wasn't so bad. My favorite part was they allowed me to check out late so I didn't have to rush back from the convention. Will definitely stay there again! Mehr

The room and bathroom were clean and mostly comfortable. However, my ground floor room faced the parking lot, and the opaque curtains didn't close all the way--in fact, they were mostly for show as the curtain track didn't go across the entire window. I wasn't too keen on people being able to see into my room from the adjacent parking lot. The hotel was clean and rooms were big and comfortable. The breakfast was not very good. Basically a continental breakfast.

Great place to stay

This is out by the airport but don't be fooled by your thinking of allot of near by restaurants near an airport. The price was lower than other Holiday Inns in San Jose. Im just saying it's OK just to go and sleep and get up to go where ever you headed.

I booked this hotel because of the name. I have not had a bad experience at a Holiday Inn Express. This hotel was decent at first glance but I noticed little things that gave away the fact that it was an old hotel kept up just enough to pass as 'fine'. The door handle on the bathroom was completely worn down; the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling […] and gross in places; the toilet overflowed the first night (although the staff was quick in their response to bring a plunger and extra towels); the beds were uncomfortable; the breakfast wasn't as good as other hotels of the same caliber; the air conditioning sounded like a rocket ship flying through the room! The amount of space was nice but overall I felt like for the price I paid it should have been a LOT nicer. I will be hesitant to book at another Holiday Inn Express again if they just plan to use their name to get people in the door with little to back it up. Mehr

Room was great and larger than I originally thought. The only drawback was the noise from outside.

Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was weak and could use some help. A variety og eggs and meat would be nice, such as scrambled eggs and sausage.

Clean, quiet, good customer service. Nothing fancy but nice. The bed was comfortable, and it was clean.

I stayed for one night. Shuttle service on pickup and drop off at my office was great! Friendly staff. Restaurant across the street was good with a friendly wait staff. The hotel's location was bit away from everything else, but since I only stayed one night, it worked ok. Hotel staff was very helpful

We had only one day to spend by the pool and the filter was broken so it was closed.

Comfy room, close to freeway, good breakfast... Id stay again... not noisey like other reviews said... it was quiet.

Rooms are dated as older. The bathtub would not drain reported it both days still did not drain. It was a place to stay nothing more.

Property is way over priced for the age, condition,etc. Maybe best near the airport, but overpriced

I travel alone for business and just needed a room for one night after getting in late from the airport. The hotel was older and the room was very uncomfortable. The beds had some plastic pad on it that made noise every time you moved. There was a fridge that made noises all night and kept waking me up. I did not feel comfortable in the hotel at all. […] I would not stay here again. Mehr

Pancake machine! Yum. Their breakfast left nothing to be desired. The mattress however had a plastic cover on them which was not the most comfortable to sleep on. More sanitary I guess, just not breathable. Fridge and microwave came in handy :)

In San Jose, Calif people need to know that you need to call the hotel if you need the schuttle to come get you to take you to the hotel.

The staff was kind and courteous and the room nice and clean. It had both microwave and fridge although they were listed as options in the hotels.com descriptions.. I'd stay here again if I was back in the area.

I thought it was going to be a dump at the prices we paid. It was all new, clean, and well landscaped. I stayed with my bridal party and grandparents the night before my wedding. I will always send out of town guests there from now on. Breakfast didn't suck either. It's not how mom used to make, but it was tasty.

Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet. The breakfast was very good. Our entire stay was way above average.

The hotel was extremely clean and all amenities provided were of excellent quality! Location very convenient for access to all downtown venues and the airport. Would stay here again, definetely....:)

Finest hotel stay I have had, not even counting the great rate!
