A beautiful hotel, friendly helpful staff. Location is ideal for French Quarter activities. A little pricey, but well worth the cost.

"geeat spot near Bourbon Street"
The hotel was perfect. Very convenient; kind staff; great decor, looked stylish. Good time began with a great restaurant recommendation from the man at the front desk. I would definitely return.
The hotel was nicely done and conveniently located within walking distance to all the sights, restaurants and shopping. We had a room towards the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The breakfast served was exceptional and all the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our only problem was that after our car was brought around by the valet, packed […] and we left, the first block we noticed that the tire pressure sensor indicated that our tire was low. We had picked up a screw in front of the hotel where there was construction going on across the street. We did find a place to repair the tire before getting on the road, but it was a setback. I did call the hotel and inform them so that the construction crew could maintain the street (sweep debris) so this would not happen to other guests. We liked the hotel and would definitely recommend to friends and if ever get back to New Orleans would book a stay there again. Mehr
We stayed at Hotel Mazarin from Saturday til Friday in March 2012. We were very happy with the hotel. They have a nice free continental breakfast each morning, with a variety of fresh fruit and pastries as well as eggs, bacon, sausage and grits. The hotel is a half block from Bourbon which means there is some noise from the street but it didn't bother […] us. The location is great - close to the streetcar on Canal and a short walk to Jackson Square and the French Market. We really enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely go back. Mehr

"Perfect!"
I've stayed at about a dozen different hotels in the French Quarter and Business District and this is by far my favorite to date - the hotel is simply elegant, but not over-done. Tasteful and classic New Orleans in every way. I read a couple of reviews before booking that mentioned construction noise, but I couldn't hear anything from my room. There […] was construction across the street, but New Orleans is a city and isn't that to be expected? Mehr

"Our stay At Hotel Mazarin"
We stayed one day and night at Hotel Mazarin. We arrived earlier than the check-in time but our room was ready waiting. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our included breakfast was very good. The hotel is still in the midst of updating and our room was not fully furnished. Beautiful large room but needed some comfy chairs or a couch.
"great location"

"Hotel Mazarin - Caution Before Booking"
We arrived at 5pm and were told we received the last room in the hotel. We had pre-booked and pre-paid, and the front desk told us that six reservations were going to be turned away because the hotel was overbooked. Our room had only one window--it was one foot wide by four feet long and looked out onto a utility closet. That night, we had no hot water […] in the in sink, and in the morning there was no hot water in the shower for at least 30 minutes. The front desk was apologetic but seemed helpless. Service staff at breakfast and the bellhops were very nice. Upon checkout, I had to bypass a dead rat in the hallway into the interior courtyard. Mehr
"Hotel Mazarin in New Orleans"
The day staff was very friendly and knowledgable. This hotel is a block from all the major streets in the French Quarter. The hotel itself is beautiful and they are adding more rooms. The parking rates were ridiculous but worth it to keep your car safe. The bed was wonderful but the pillows were so fluffy that you never could really lay your head down---bring […] your own. I only see this hotel improving over time. Mehr
"Heart of the French Quarter"
This was my first experience with this property. I'd say it was outstanding. Beautiful, just renovated, room. Practically in the heart of the French Quarter, just a few blocks off Canal, between Bourbon St. and Royale. Hotel rooms surround a large courtyard. I got no street noise (room on back of courtyard) even though it was St. Patrick's Day weekend. […] Some noise does come up from the courtyard when revelers return. Easy walking distance to anything you want to do in the Quarter, or to the Streetcar on Canal. The complimentary breakfast was more than I expected, well beyond pastries and coffee. A little pricy for me, but I'd recommend it for others. Everyone was very nice and helpful, from front desk to bellman. Mehr
"Gem in the heart of New Orleans"
Hotel Mazarin great location right on Bienville Street, half block from Bourbon Street & one block from Royal. The hotel has been recently renovated. A few small items still need to be added. Wall safe and small room refrigerator still need to be put in place. Front desk has a safe if you need to have anything stored for safekeeping. Very, Very clean […] not a speck of dust. The bed to die for slept like a rock. Saturday night the loudest, then again you are in New Orleans in the French Quarter. Walking distance to all the top and inexpensive restaurants, shops, and the French Market. We ate in GW Fins, & The Bombay Club. Two fine restaurants if you are looking to get away from the usual tourist places. Both are right near the hotel Mazarin. Service in the hotel fabulous, staff is there when you need them. All very friendly, don’t be afraid to ask them to point out their favorite places they like, and some points of interest. Stayed four days March 10-14 weather was fine for us not to hot. Room has great climate control system very quiet. Would definite recommend and stay here again. Dont miss breakfest starts at 7am see yah down in the big EZ. Mehr
"Great location!!"
Hotel Mazarin is a half block from Bourbon which is a great, convenient location. Lovely room and wonderful, hot breakfast. The only negative I found was the noisiness. The hotel room doors and frames are painted and stick when they open. I heard my neighbors every time they came in and out of the room, even waking me from a dead sleep at 5am. I could […] also hear them walking and talking outside their door. Other than that annoyance, I really loved the hotel. Mehr
"Great Location but........"
No hot water on check out day!
"Still Needs Work"
There are still doing a lot of construction around the hotel so it was rather noisy. They are also renovating the hotel directly across the street which adds to the hoise problem. Also, although the room was big it was lacked a refrigerator and we had to ask for a garbage can. The room didn't even have a chair in it. Maybe they are still working on […] the furnishing? The phone in our room didn't work to contact the front desk, but the front desk people were very nice and helpful. Mehr
"Hotel Mazarin"
4 people/2 dbl Queen Rooms - Mardi Gras: Location was PERFECT Breakfast was PHENOMINAL - Best eggs I've ever had and wonderful chocolate croissants. Beds were AMAZING - Cannot say this one enough. Rooms are very pretty. Decor is so nice. Love the ceiling lights and floors. Housekeeping.... One room was wonderful when we checked in. The other room was […] not made available to us until 5 p.m. ! We were told that housekeeping hadn't finished cleaning it. Also, after telling them the day after we checked in that we only needed our trash emptied that day, they never came back. We had to ask for them to come. Even with the training issues, they were still friendly. Simple things: we had called ahead to find out if a refrigerator would be in the room. Were told yes, but neither room had one. Only 1 trash can in 1 room. No chair in the other room. Robes are advertised, but only 1 per room was provided. So, some growing pains, here. The layout for the bathrooms is not very good. No counter space. Everything is in one room, so hard for 2 people to get ready in morning. Our rooms overlooked Bienville St. and had no balcony. They were very quiet, even during the last weekend of Carnival. Pleasantly surprised with this. Service: Very nice door service, breakfast room staff so friendly, front desk service was great, except for one very cranky late night red-haired young woman. Felt like I walked into the wrong hotel for a minute. Overall, the good FAR out-weighed the bad. I would definitely stay here again. Mehr
"beautiful hotel, wonderful service and staff"
We stayed here over Mardi Gras, and I can't wait to come back and stay here again. Gorgeous rooms, delicious breakfast, reasonably priced, and everyone that worked there (with the exception of housekeeping staff) went above and beyond to make sure everything was wonderful. My only complaint was that our room was only cleaned 3 times during an 7 night […] stay, and when we asked for our room to be cleaned the housekeeping staff was reluctant and rude or wouldn't actually clean anything. One time they asked us why we couldn't make our own beds. I'm sure, however, this wouldn't be an issue on a slower week. Otherwise, everything was fantastic and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. "Sanctuary in the French Quarter"
The two things that really make this hotel stand out are 1) The amazing location of the property - right off Bourbon St one block from Canal St (where all the parades pass by) 2) The absolute drop-dead gorgeous rooms and beautiful french courtyard in the middle of the hotel. I had never been to New Orleans but knew I wanted to stay in the historic […] French Quarter for Mardi Gras. This turned out to be a great choice because being in the Quarter puts one right in the middle of the parade & party action. But the crowds on Bourbon St can be a bit overwhelming and at night I really wanted a Sanctuary away from the madness. Even though the Hotel Mazarin is located so closely to all the excitement, we needed only step through the lobby into the beautiful French courtyard to find peace. The iron balconies, lush greenery, and fountain centerpiece created a beautiful environment to sip wine by the moonlight or enjoy a sunrise breakfast. And the room was the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. The only downside to this property is the high price of parking. But that is standard for the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again. Mehr
If you want to be near Bourbon St, this is the place to be
"Great newly renovated property right by Bourbon St"
We loved this hotel. The only reason for the "4" in regards to condition was that it has VERY thin walls. You expect for noisy nights at a hotel that is SO close to Bourbon street, but within the hotel, we could very easily hear full on conversations of people just walking down the hallway or rooms even several doors down. HOWEVER, that would not deter […] us from staying there again. The service was great; our room wasn't ready when we checked in but the staff got us in within 15 minutes. They were all very friendly from the front desk, to the guy who helped store our luggage, to the people serving breakfast. And the breakfast was pretty good too! Loved the complimentary bottled water in our room as well. Room was very comfy, beautiful lighting, great comforter - and nice and cool. The shower took some time to warm up but once it did, it was fine. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely book at Mazarin again. Mehr

"Not ready for prime time"
I was informed that this hotel was under renovation at the time I booked and received a small (approx $20) discount on that basis. I expected some noise, and possibly some disorder in the common spaces, and found a reasonable and completely acceptable amount of both. However, I also had a room with construction grit all over the floor and other surfaces, […] particularly in the bathroom, and staff that was so overwhelmed that it wasn't even worth trying to call them to deal with it. I don't see the connection between being under renovation and being short staffed. There were 6 groups in line waiting to get through a slow check in process with one desk clerk when I arrived, I had to go downstairs twice before I found a bellman to get my bag out of storage, and clearly the housekeeping staff was overwhelmed at best and poorly trained at worst. I think this hotel has a lot of promise--well-appointed rooms, good location, and complementary bottled water, breakfast and internet. But I wouldn't stay there again until they've had time to finish their renovation and hopefully get both their staffing levels and staff training up to par. Mehr
"Great Location--Great Staff--Great Hotel"
This hotel was absolutely wonderful! The hotel itself is located very close, maybe half a block away, to Bourbon St but it is still far enough away that you can escape the noise and late night crowd. Once you walk inside the lobby you are greeted by a doorman and shown to the front desk. Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly polite […] and helpful. We stayed in the Deluxe King Room and it was absolutely beautiful. There was so much charm and attention to the small details. The room itself was kind of small--just enough space for the King size bed, side tables and the tv table but how much space do you really need in a hotel room for 2 people. There was a chandelier hanging right about the bed. And the bed was the best bed I have slept in in a very long time!! The bathroom was nice and updated, as well, with a rainfall walk-in shower. This was my first trip to New Orleans and it definitely set the bar high. I will stay at the Hotel Mazarin for every following trip. It was amazing and I truly do not think it could be topped. It has a really quaint, boutique feel to it with the warmest staff members I have ever encountered. I would recommened this hotel to anyone planning a trip to New Orelans!!! Mehr
