Sauberkeit:okay, aber auch nicht super sauber. Von einem 4* Hotel erwarte ich keinen Staub unter einem Schreibtisch, der im Zimmer offen einsehbar ist, auch wenn ich nicht im geringsten pingelig bin. Zimmer wurde jeden Tag wirklich nur im Gröbsten gesaugt.Fussel haben sich bis zum Ende des Aufenthalts etwas gesammelt (aber kein Ekelfaktor). Neue Handtücher […] = jeden 2 Tag, neue Bettwäsche auch. Morgens wurden von Putzfrauen in Zimmern Möbel zum Putzen verückt, sodass man wach wurde. Hotelservice:Eine mir bekannte Person checkte 1Tag nach mir ein. Ich für dessen Zimmer auf Wunsch Sekt und Rosen bestellt. Trotz meiner Unterschrift wurden weder Sekt noch Blumen bereitgestellt, was in Sachen Service, wenn man als Hotel Geld verdienen kann, ein Nogo ist. Als die besagte Person eincheckte, wurde das Nicht-Erfüllen dieser Leistung auch unzureichend begründet. Ansonsten waren die MA des Hotels freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmerkomfort: Zimmer von der Einrichtung sehr schön. Das Bett und die dazugehörigen Decken und Kissen waren subjektiv gesehen unbequem. Lage: in der Nähe von Atocha und einer anderen U-Bahn Station (Name gerade entfallen). Fußmarsch dorthin ca. 5 bzw. 3 Minuten, also völlig i.O.. Rund um das Hotel einige Kneipchen und Tapasbars (wie überall in Madrid). Zum Mueseo Prado ca. 10 Minuten Fußmarsch, zur Stadtmitte 15-20 Minuten. Im Großen und Ganzen eine gute Lage. Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen! Gesamt: war okay, aber auch nicht sonderlich überragend. Mehr

Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer sehr schön, und auch ruhig, allerdings war mein Zimmer leider sehr hellhörig. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig. Die Lage des Hotels ist super, zu Fuß 5 Min. Zur U-Bahn Station Attocha. Von dort aus sind es 3-4 U-Bahnstationen ins Zentrum (Station Sol) von Madrid. Das Hotel liegt nahe zum Atocha Bahnhof und sehr zentral zum Prado und anderen Kunstmuseen. Nur eine kurze Metro-Fahrt zur Puerta del Sol und dem Plaza Mayor. Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr sauber, offensichtlich frisch renovierte Zimmer.freies Wlan in der Lobby. Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel.

Für uns waren bei der Buchung die Lage des Hotels am südöstlichen Rand des Madrider Zentrums mit seinen bedeutendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten einerseits und die unmittelbare Nähe des Bahnhofs 'Atocha' (auch Metro-Station) andererseits ausschlaggebend. Vor Ort sind wir für diese Wahl belohnt worden. Wir haben uns nahezu alles Sehenswerte vom Hotel aus zu […] Fuß erschlossen. So sind es von dort nur wenige Minuten u.a. zum Prado-Museum, selbst zum Königlichen Palast in nord-westlicher Richtung ist es zu Fuß kein Problem. Im Zweifel kann man per Metro zurück. Die genannte Haltestelle war auch für den Transit vom/zum Flughafen von Vorteil. Das Hotel liegt an an einer mehrspurigen Straße. Wir fühlten uns dadurch nicht unzumutbar belästigt. Mehr

I was surprised by the outside/fasade of the hotel (shocked, to be honest) - and was nicely surprised that the hotel had enjoyed a renovation inside - and the outside style/appearance did not match the interior standar. I was lucky and got a huge room (ballroom dancing would have been possible), which was renovated in the last couple of years, nicely […] clean, functional, dark and really really quite (as window to inner patio). Checkin/out could have been quicker and a bid friendlier, but it worked at the end and even got printed my boarding pass. The location is functional, just around Atocha train station and 4-5 walking minutes to Reina Sofia museum and 10min walk to Caixa Forum. Around the hotel are lots of simple and honest bars and cafeterias. Disadvantage: free WiFi only in lobby. In the rooms one need to pay 14 EUR per 24h WiFi (which works in other Kubi hotspots as well) Mehr

Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen zwischen dem Retiro und dem alten Bahnhof Atocha. U-Bahn und Bushaltestelle sind ebenfalls in der Nähe. Das Personal an der Reception war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sehr gross und das Badezimmer ist sehr komfortabel.

Great hotel. We used the airporter bus to go from the airport to the train station, then a short, easy 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 10:30 AM and they let us into our room.Took a nap, then explored Madrid. The beds are a firmer mattress on an elevated platform, but not uncomfortable. Room was clean, quiet (6th floor) […] and the bath was huge. Watch out, however, where you aim the shower head as the shower door is only a "half door" of glass and you can easily soak the floor outside the shower.Toiletries were included along with a hair dryer that worked just fine for my long hair. There are 3 ATMs for various banks adjacent to the hotel (across a side street), and metro stations both at the train station and one even more convenient only a 2-block walk south of the hotel. There are also lots of small markets and bodegas to buy some snacks or bottled waters (very inexpensive at these markets). The breakfast buffet was excellent. Eggs and various types of ham/bacon, fruit, pastries, coffee, tea and fresh squeezed jiuces. Worth paying a little more for the breakfast included when you book your room ahead. Also, unlike some reviewers, we found the staff very pleasant, although there can be a long trying to check out if you are arriving around 10 AM (as we did) and the staff can be a little harried. The hotel was just as advertised for our needs. It was quick and easy walk from the Atocha train station, and walking distance of the central city park (Parque del Retiro) and into the central part of town -- we walked to Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol for dinner. The room was clean and modern, though travellers from the US may find it a little on the […] small side, though not overly so -- our bedroom was about 13x11 feet. We didn't try the breakfast, so we can't comment on that. However, there was a really great bakery/pastry shop about halfway up the street towards the station, on the left as you head from the station to the hotel. They got me with the Marriott name in the title - but not up to Marriott standards - very small and noisy rooms (the floors and ceiling must be make of very thin paper! I even heard the sound of a luggage zipper in the room next door!!); elevators made me extremely claustropohic; minimal amenities - no real gym, no real restaurant or bar in the lobby; […] they charge for Wifi in the rooms (free in the lobby); and the TV has only 1 English-speaking channel. The hotel and facilities are great. Only downside is the loud road that has a stoplight with racing traffic all night long. I've stayed on the 4th floor and the 8th floor. The higher up you go, the better.

Very disappointing experience. The hotel does not deserve more than two stars. To begin with, when we checked in, there was nothing to wash with. After a request for soap, we were give two extra containers of shampoo, and two containers of shower gel, which is not very convenient to wash hands. One of the pillows was smelly, nothing bad, an obnoxious […] perfume most likely, but still very unpleasant to use. But the worst thing was the noise. We could hear people on the floor above walking, people behind the wall using their bathroom, trucks on the street - as though the entire hotel was build of cardboard. This hotel was a good price and extremely well kept. I really liked the hotel and room a lot, but there were a couple things that were annoying and would prevent me from giving it a 5 star review. First was the fact the the hotel was listed as providing free wifi. When I got there, I found this was true, but ONLY in the lobby/lounge. If you want WIFI […] in you're room, you need to pay and extra fee. I felt this was an unnecessary annoyance. They also have safes in the room, but it was not at all clear how to use it. It had a large key hole in the front that would certainly imply a large key was needed (which I was not provided). I didn't bother to ask about it since I assumed there was an extra charge for that as well. Usually the room safes I've used have a combination with instructions how to set it. Other than that, a couple small things that I must admit that I knew when I booked it. Breakfast was not included. When I asked about an airport shuttle, I was told that they didn't provide that. Fair enough, but if they don't have a shuttle service, it would have been nice if they provided a list of services that could be hired and perhaps even offered to book it. Mehr

Overall good experience for the price. The hotel is well located close to the Prado Museum and the metro. You are at a walking distance of restaurants. Hotel is well kept, modern and overall good service. Great breakfast!

Good hotel. Just one block from the train station and the airport shuttle. Lots of local bars and restauratns around. Nice clean rooms, a little larger than average size (for Madrid). However, it is 2 metro stops from the historic downtown, or a 15 min walk.

I discovered the AC hotels on recent trip to Spain. Good quality overall but be warned, no internet access outside of lobby. Cost 18 euros to add to room, which is a major inconvenence when traveling. That said, room while small was well done, very inexpensive, very close to train station (2 blocks) and close to all attractions in madrid (easy walk […] to all major attractions). Unfortunately I also go room in back of hotel next to maid station and was noisy. Not sure if they give this to hotel.com guests or not. Would stay again given cost and location, but sure wish they would add wifi.... Mehr

The hotel is great! It is very clean and modern and the location is good. It is near the Atocha Renfe station which is where you can catch trains to go to other cities or simply catch the Metro. My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during our brief stay in Madrid, we would stay here again. my only real complaint is rather than having 1 king/queen […] bed, they pushed together two twin sized beds. The beds were on wheels on a wood floor. So a few times the beds started rolling apart and my wife almost fell through. The wifi was not very fast but it was free which is apparently is rare in hotels in Europe, so can't complain too much. Mehr

This hotel is in a perfect central location easily accessible via Metro. The rooms nicely decorated, quiet, modern, comfortable, stylish. Very helpful and efficient staff.Only drawback is the rather pricey in-room Wifi @ EUR 18 per day but there is free Wifi in the lobby and ground floor areas.Perfect for business and leisure traveler.

It was very close to the Atocha train station which is a plus if you are taking a high speed train from there but the surrounding area was not the best. This was a fabulous hotel and perfect for our needs. The cleanliness, polish, and the efficiency with which the rooms were set up is perfect. Most of the gentlemen working the front desk were fabulous, but one in particular seemed a little put out when we asked for advice around the city. Bartenders and servers were great!

Hotel is a short walk from the station with good access by metro or train to all areas of Madrid. Reception staff were helpful, and our room was large and clean, with a huge bathroom with a spa tub also! Mini bar drinks were free, but buffet breakfast not included, which suited us fine as we just grabbed breakfast at a nearby cafe. My only issue was […] with the room safe being very old and needing a key, which they charge you if lost, and for some reason the first day we had two half rolls of toilet paper instead of new ones... Loved my stay here. Great location near reina Sophia an the atocha metro stop. The staff were very accommodating and sweet and the free mini bar was a big plus! I travelled alone and am a single woman and I found the area to be safe. Only con is the price of the wifi 17 euro a day is a bit ridiculous! But it is free in the lobby!
