Nacht in Venedig absolut empfehlenswert!
Kritik. Resümee: Eine nicht zu wiederholende Erfahrung Mehr
"das perfekte Hotel in Venedig"
Direkt in unmittelbarer Nähe aller wichtigen Punkte.
Sehr freundliches Personal.
"Gabrielli Sandwirth - a gem in need of polish"
Located in the Riva degli Schiavoni area (where the tourist boats depart for Murano, etc.), the Gabrielli Sandwith shares the Grand Canal views of luxury properties such as the Danieli and Londra Palace. It has not been recently updated, so it offers a "reminder" of opulence at a much lower price. It has the formal dining room and vast lounging areas […] of the grand hotels of Europe. The outdoor dining and rooftop garden are unbeatable on nice days. The hotel staff retains an air of sometimes-stuffy formality although the old palazzo has long lost its sparkle. I liked the property and will return. Mehr
"Almost a disaster, then great!"
We booked a triple. The first night we were given 2 very small, adjoining rooms -- the two beds in the first took up most of the room. One had to walk through the second room (which had the third bed) to get to the bathroom. The next morning I complained and offered to pay more for an upgrade. We immediately were given a much larger, airy room into […] which they brought a third bed. Everything was immaculate. I think they change the linen every day. The included breakfast is huge: eggs, cereal, breads, yoghurts, meats, cheese amd if you want an espresso or latte, they will make it for you. Mehr
"The Gabrielli Sandwrth Hotel at Venice"
Good location to many main tourist areas. Clean but not a 4 star hotel, even by European standards....would rate at a 2 (maybe)??. Very old, would be extremely warm in summer, (by construction, this hotel was composed of many different houses , in years gone by (no air conditioning of course). Restaurant staff appeared cold, breakfast provided was aqequate. […] Appears to be a family run place with no intention of any upgrades whatsoever, even though they have fallen many years behind. Would not stay there again. Very expensive for the sparce amenities. Mehr
"Gabrielli Hotel"
It was perfect from our room, to the view of the lagoon , to breakfast, and the lovely rooftop garden at sunset.
"Gabrielli Sandwirth - Venice Italy"
Since I read many of the reviews for this hotel, I was prepared for the differences between a 4 star hotel in Europe. This hotel needs some update in the general room and as with many European hotels, the pictures on their website are a bit deceiving. The location was perfect for the time we had in Venice and the evenings were better once the crowds […] diminshed. The rooms are a little small but we were enchanted by the historical perspective this hotel offered. The complimentary breakfast was good and the personnel were accommodating. We felt safe, secure and it was a perfect beginning to our two week vacation. Compared to to other close hotels, this was a relatively good value. Mehr
"July 2011 Stay before Cruise departure"
This hotel was awesome! I went with my sister-in-law a few days before our cruise. The breakfast was very Italian and good and the coffee was SO great! We met the owner, Carolina, and she gave us a wonderful tour. Beatrice was so wonderful and helped us with our taxi to the cruise ship the day we left. Our room had a tiny balcony right in front of the […] Esplanade! Venice had the hottest weather during our stay in 20 yrs! Our room had "A/C" and a little refrigerator, but we were glad to have it! The rooftop terrace was the best in the late afternoon/evening. We bought drinks down in the bar and took it up to the terrace, you can't get drinks up on top, and watched the city and felt the breeze! It was very close to everything, which is why I chose the hotel. It's beautiful too. A beauty that you can see in little spots too and is just gorgeous. I chose this hotel for three reasons: Location, free breakfast and rooftop terrace. VERY pleased! And you will be too! Mehr
"Wonderfully Friendly!"
I only had the pleasure of staying two nights for a quick business trip, but I would certainly recommend this hotel for a longer holiday stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were decently sized compared to other similar class hotels I have stayed at in the area. The roof top garden terrace was a lovely place for a morning […] coffee, afternoon wine, or work space (internet available even there). The location is perfect for all areas as you are a stones throw away from the water bus and only a few minutes walk to San Marco. Mehr
"The kind of room where one commits suicide"
This property is not four stars under any stretch of the imagination unless your imagination consists of hostels or hovels. Apart from the convenience of the Arsenale vaporetto stop and proximity to the Piazza San Marco, this property would not even qualify for a renovation but should be scheduled for demolition. Highlights include: -Two horribly uncomfortable […] twin beds pushed together to create a double, which, just like the photographs purporting to be representative of this property, is illusory as a 6" gap remains between the beds -Utterly grim room, bare-bones lighting and scuff marks along the walls, with a torn magazine picture placed in a cheap, plastic 99-cent frame and hung on the wall as the sole item of decoration -Furniture that harkens back to last century's mid-century and not in an antique or charming manner but in an old, derelict and depressing one -Room had the auditory bonus of the garish green colored elevator's creaking noises, which ceased for a few hours in the middle of the night before resuming in the early morning hours -Gigantic bathroom with a hairdryer attached to the wall and a funnel which emits more noise than hot air, the likes of which were last seen circa 1945; the black hair resting on the unused toilet paper, however, was likely of far more recent origins -Staff utterly unhelpful - not bothering to hold doors when I was carrying suitcases in both hands, and not bothering to turn on the lights in the reception area so I could find my way from the entrance to the elevator at night-time. We elected to escape from this grim setting at first light, and therefore cannot comment on the food/beverage offerings. However, I doubt that other than the roof garden, there is anything else that is redeeming about this hotel - the price paid is absurd for what is obtained in return and the 4-star rating (as well as the photographs) is false advertising at its best. "Wonderful Experience"
This hotel is superb!. We arrived early, and were able to check in. Our room faced the courtyard, so it was quite quiet. We were a few steps away from the stairs leading to thje roof garden. WHAT A VIEW!!!!. Fantastic location. Steps from the water shuttle and Piazza San Marco. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We had an early flight to […] catch on Monday 04/25, and the hotel even had breakfast waiting or us at 4:30AM! The breakfast was adequate and filling. The room was clean (hardwood floors, so some dust bunnies, but nothing to be concerned over), the bathrrom was clean and LARGE!!. This hotel has won me over and I will definately be a repeat guest (when I can get back to Venice), and will highly recommend the Gabrielli Sandwirth Hotel to friends and family. Mehr
"Well located and convenien to water transport rout"
Traditionally rustic hotel with smallish but clean rooms. Beds were marginally comfortable; but since we were staying for one night in was endurable. We had a front room facing the water front, giving us a great view. The down side was that many transport vessels were docked outside our window and the wake from passing boats caused frequent noise as […] the bots knocked about. Next time I would request a garden view room at the rear for a more restfull night. We were in transit to catch a cruise ship; so we were well located to catch the Alilaguna shuttle and the water bus. via the Grand Canal. A bit pricey but then again so is everything in Venice. Breakffast was included and was quite acceptable Mehr

"Great for the money...."
The location was even better than anticipated. The waterbus drops you almost at the door. It is close to St. Mark's Square and also the Via Garibaldi, which has good restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they steered me towards some good restaurants and less-touristy neighborhoods. The hotel is beautiful (if in need of a touch-up). […] Breakfast was Continental-minimalist but it was served in a lovely courtyard. There is a great rooftop patio with a view of the Grand Canal in the distance. My room had TV and air conditioning, in theory - I couldn't get either to work but I didn't need them. It is a very old building but it has modern plumbing. Well worth the value. Mehr
"Not the best not the worst"
Beds are hard as a rock, internet in lobby only for high hourly rate, breakfast not good, and coffee not available in hotel until 7:15am. If you want absolutely no frills hotel then this is the place to go. Don't get me wrong the rooms were clean and I have stayed at much worse hotels.
"Quite Lacking...."
However convenient to be on the water front, service lacked as they were tired at 8pm in the evening, beds were super uncomfortable. The breakfast was adequate and the restaurants close to the hotel were amazing! Hotel overall would not recommend.
"Comfortable, location excellent and good service"
Hotel staff are very hospitable, nice and helpful. The hotel itself is very good, excellent location and easy to find. I stayed for one night and enjoyed it tremendously. The second day after we checked out, the hotel kept our luggage and were welcoming that we would rest in their lobby till our train time. I highly recommend this hotel. I would definitly […] stay there again if I go to Venice Mehr
The position of this hotel was ideal. We took a private water taxi and it stopped right out front. Public water transfer is too far away. There is a public water taxi stop right out front which made it easy for us to get to the port when it was time for our cruise to leave. The rooms are small but larger than we expected, we had been told about small […] rooms in Europe. The staff were very attentive, especially in the bar and we were well looked after. There is a roof top garden and sitting area from which there is a great view of the water. We were there at the time of a large festival where the water is full, and I mean full, of boats and a huge fireworks display. We were able to book seats on the roof which was spectacular. Breakfast was included in the cost. We also ate dinner at the hotel and the food was good. All the large cruise ships pass by the hotel on their way to sea. It is very easy to get lost in Venice and we saw a lot of people having to drag their suitcases up the steps of the many bridges trying to find their way to the hotels. The only bad comment would be the A/C. It was very hot while we were there and the A/C was not that good. Our experience of Venice was wonderful and I would recommend this hotel. Mehr
"Gabrielli Sandwirth - really well located"
Really excellendt place to stay in Venice - very good location. Within 5 mins of St Mark's Sq, and less to the narrow streets with great restaurants and great shopping. The hotel itself could probably do with a make-over, but that is part of its charm. Staff friendly and helpful. Only had two slight cribs - if you have a room looking onto the water […] in front there is endless noise - all night, from the coming and going of the boats mostly. So if you are a light sleeper, it might be better to forego the beautiful view in favour of some sleep. Breakfast is just OK - could be improved on. I'd recommend it, and will stay there again. Mehr

"Gabrielli Sandwirth Hotel, Venice"
The hotel is on the same wide water front walkway as St Mark's & the Doge's Palace. It is next to a water taxi stop, so no need to drag heavy cases if you take a (shared) taxi from the airport. Also close to Arsenale vaporeto stop, though this will take much longer. The room was of adequate size, facing into the courtyard. The bathroom was a good size, […] with a bath and good strength shower. The Weather was not hot enough to eat in the courtyard, or visit the garden. The Roof terrace was pleasant, and the bar waiter happy to bring drinks up to it. All the staff were very friendly, and had a better level of english than my italian. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, with good strong coffee enough to set you up for a day of walking. Given how expensive venetian hotels are, this one is worth considering, and is a great base to visit the city. Mehr
"Excellent hotel in every way"
The Sandwirth was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. Everything was topnotch. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. The hotel restaurant is outstanding. Breakfasts were good and dinner was superb. Although dinner menu is a little expensive, it is worth every Euro. Four-star menu and the finest service in a beautiful room. The hotel's […] location is perfect...near everything but not at all noisy. The rooftop "garden" offers comfortable lounges and a great place to sun and to take in the stunning views. My sister and I each had a very small single room but they were very comfortable. I truly loved the bathrooms...what old-world charm and luxury!!! Beautiful marble everywhere, a large toilet, a large bidet that worked well, very deep and spacious bathtub and a very large sink. Everything very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff take full charge of toting your luggage...you only have to unpack when you arrive and to pack up to leave. I'd come back here anytime! Can't go wrong...and the price was low for the value. Mehr
"Rooms are tiny"
It was touted as 4 star. The rooms are no bigger than a closet. It reminds of a hostel and not a four star hotel. The hotel is a very convenient location. At best this is a 2 star hotel.
"Small but Clean!"
Stayed for two nights in May. The location was down from St. Marks and Doge's Palace a little way but it's so beautiful there who cares! The room is small (my friend joked they turned a closet into a room) but it was clean, quaint, and safe so who cares it's vacation and it's what you make out of it - it doesn't make you! There was a safe in the room […] and toiletries, hairdryer, and towels. Mehr
"Charming hotel great location"
The Gabrielli, like all hotels in Venice I've stayed in is quaint and charming but for its rating may disappoint seasoned travellers who are used to the facilities of top hotels. This is the case everywhere in town though from what I've seen and the Gabrielli was very clean and comfortable without being spectacular. That said, the location is superb […] being both close to St Marks but far enough away, and the secret roof terrace is delightful, a peaceful haven in an otherwise crazy place. Mehr
"Poor Hotel"
Very unfriendly staff, rooms and service way below standard
"Not a 4 star hotel"
We had no bad experiences at this hotel. But, we went there expecting a 4 star hotel and so were very disappointed. The rooms are tiny and are far from relaxing or romantic. And don't expect any local tips from the concierge, he will only send you to the most generic of restaurants.

"Wonderfull location, but totally run down"
This was obviously an old palace, with some beautifull remains in some of the common parts. The team is nice and gentle with also an old flavour style (though the restaurant they advised us as "a typical trattoria where locals gather" what we were looking for, turned out to be just a tourist trap). But the rooms are dreadfull, extremely smalls and dark, […] not very clean, with very cheap materials. The bed was so uncomfortable that, for the very first time of my life, I had to put the mattress on the floor, which was les painfull than the iron cage of the bed ! Like in most places in Venise, the price looks idiotic when compared to what you can get in most cities for the same - but the situation on the Riva dei Schiavoni is fantastic. However, you can find far better for the same cost in supposedly lower category hotel - which should be in fact upgraded as this hotel shall never be rated 4 stars, 2 stars being already a question. Mehr
"Anbefales!!!"
Hyggelig betjening.

Recomendo!
"Hotell Gabrielli Sandwirth Hotel"

"Strongly recommended"
Sophisticated hotel with an real italian atmosphere. Beautiful, charming, clean room. The exquisite breakfast was served in the garden by gentlemen in white jackets. All inn all, the staff was always smiling and polite. Whatever you asked for, nothing seem to be a problem. The hotel is situated at the end of the canal grande, 5 minutes walk from Basilica […] San Marco. Even though the hotel is situated very central, inside it was all silence. The only thing I found strange was that they charge you 6 € for using the wireless internet in the lobby (!!!). But I have never experienced this kind of value for the money staying in a hotel i Italy. Mehr
