Comfort Inn Yosemite Valley Gateway - Mariposa

Wir hatten ein frisch renoviertes Zimmer und waren sehr zufrieden damit. Die Zimmer sind recht klein und es fehlte ein Kühlschrank (und eine Mikrowelle), wobei beides im Frühstücksraum für die Gäste zur Verfügung gestellt wird (kostenlos). Wir hatten einen schnellen kostenlosen WLAN-Internetzugang und eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer, natürlich auch einen […] Fernseher. Die Dusche ist etwas klein, aber ausreichend für leicht übergewichtige Personen wie mich :) Der Frühstücksraum ist leider für die Anzahl Gäste zu klein, aber man bekommt dort Toast, Rührei, Cerealien und kann an zwei Waffeleisen seine eigene Waffel backen! Vom Motel aus fährt man ca. 1 Stunde bis zum Nationalpark, auf jeden Fall in Mariposa vorher volltanken und nochmal bei der Tourist-Info vorbeischauen und Informationen einholen! Mehr

Das Comfort Inn in Mariposa ist eine günstige Altanative zu den überteuerten Hotels im Yosemite National Park. Die Zimmer sind nicht sonderlich groß, man hat aber genug Platz um seine Koffer auszupacken. Die Ausstattung ist nichts besonderes. Es gibt freies W-LAN und einen kleinen Pool, den wir aber nicht benutzt haben. Was uns gut gefallen hat ist […] das Continental Breakfast, welches im Preis mit inbegriffen war. Neben den üblichen Sachen wie Bagel, Cornflakes und Toast gab es auch Waffeleisen mit zwei verschiedenen Teigsorten. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Allerdings abgewohnt, was man gerade im Bad deutlich merkt. Sehr positiv war der Service beim Frühstück, welcher von einer sehr aufmerksamen Dame durchgeführt wurde. Noch nicht einmal leere Behälter wurden sofort wieder aufgefüllt und alles sauber gehalten.(Leider gibt es sowas nicht in jedem Hotel). Das einzige […] was ich wirklich zu bemängeln habe ist der späte Check in: 16Uhr! und frühs um 11Uhr Check out. Trotzdem ist dieses Hotel weiter zu empfehlen! Mehr

Lage : Das Hotel liegt ziemlich genau eine Stunde Fahrzeit vom Eingang des Yosemite Nationalpark entfernt. Man darf aber nicht unterschätzen, dass man dann innerhalb des Parks - je nachdem, wo man hinmöchte - nochmal 1-3 Std. Fahrt dazu kommt!! Hotel : Das Hotel ist eigentlich ein Motel mit den typischen Motelzimmern - relativ finster, etwas muffig […] und sehr eng. Es war sauber und wir hatten das Glück ein Eckzimmer mit zwei Fenstern zu haben. Insgesamt akzeptabel aber sicher nicht überragend! Mehr

die nachbarzimmer sind lediglich durch türen getrennt akustikproblem frühstück war lobenswert

Sehr gutes Hotel. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Gute Bettenqualität. Mehrere Restaurants in Gehdistanz. Sehr schöne, aber etwas weite Anfahrt zum Yosemite. Alles in allem ist das Hotel sehr empfehlenswert.

We stayed at this hotel on the way to Yosemite, and it was just what we wanted. The service was great, the rooms were pretty nice, the breakfast was reasonable, and the location is quite nice. All in all a pleasant experience, and we would be very happy to stay there again.

Great hotel, super friendly front desk staff, very helpful and accomodating! Room was clean, shower head was a bit short though. Good location and great value.

My stay was great, but I would seach out another hotel chain that gives me my frequent flyer miles even if I forget to give them when I check in.. I checked in late and forgot to give my miles. At checkout I was unable to get them credited. So I would prefer a hotel or motel that honors my miles..There are many

Room was clean, desk personnel helpful, location was quiet but close to restaurants in town. Breakfast was very good for a hotel complimentary meal. And it was pe friendly. A relatively close and nice drive to Yosemite.

This place was really nice. The only type of room that was available had 2 beds, though we only needed one. The staff was friendly, continental breakfast had a nice selection. I recommend this place.

No hot water, dirty air conditioner vent which was right above the bed and dirty bed sheets. The screen was torn on the door leading into the room. Trash was all around the building. I recommend staying in Oakhurst.

There are three things good in the hotel: price, breakfast and cleanliness of the room. WiFi and parking lot are excellent too. But it stops here. The problem of Yosemite is the distance between Mariposa and the park itself (you spend 1 hours, in a street full of curves, to reach the park). I really don't recommend it to anybody. Please, spend a little […] more and stay in the Cedar Lodge or the Yosemite Lodge (only 20 minutes from the park). Other problem with the hotel is that doesn't have elevator (and has 3 floors). More, the refrigerator and the microwave in the dinner room, thas is shared by all guests, are really a joke. Please, put them inside the rooms!!!! Be carefull with the "sofabed" in the room, is really a joke too. Specially when they DON'T change the lines of it!!?? Please, when cleaning the room, remember the sofabed too. Mehr

I have stayed here several times and it has allways been clean and a very nice breakfast. would like to see a litle fridge in the rooms

The first room the TV cabinet was busted and they moved us to another room. The bed was comfortable and clean but the TV screen hadn't seen a dust cloth for months. The constant dripping of the toilet could only be drowned out by the door being closed and any maintenance on the walls etc looked like it had been done by a 5 year old >>>the old settee […] in the space should have been put in the trash and the wireless (non secure) internet should be secured with a password . Slept well. Showered had the best breakfast in the breakfast room . Staff were courteous and ready to help. Get a decent cleaning staff replace the carpets and bed spreads in the rooms and get a decent maint crew to repair the damaged rooms and walls and you are onto a great hotel.... Mehr

Excellent hotel, perfect for Yosemite.

The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is fairly clean. Overall, this Comfort Inn needs to be updated/renovated. It's very old. The location is one hour away from Yosemite Valley.

Great place to stay. Great location in a lovely little town. Wonderful waffles for breakfast. Good breakfast selection. Clean comfortable rooms. Lots of places to dine in the town. Also possible to take the YARKS bus to the park and sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery and the hospitality of the wonderful drivers.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds and pillows were comfy too.

The hotel is about 30 minutes from Yosemite, but much cheaper than staying inside the park. Mariposa was built to cater to tourists. The front desk has a map of all the stores/restaurants in the town, which was very helpful to decide on dinner. The staff were very cheerful. The breakfast was nice to have a variety of hot and cold options. The pool and […] hottub was decently maintained and was great to relax in after hiking all day. The room itself was on the smaller side (a double) and not a lot of room to place the luggage of three people. The beds were comfortable, though slightly more firm than a normal firm mattress. The bathroom was clean, but does need to be updated. The hot/cold handles were opposite of a normal faucet so at first my shower was cold. You could hear the plumbing of the nearby rooms, but not the people. For the price and location, it was a very nice hotel to spend the night. Mehr

We found the hotel to be a little dated in decor, however the room was comfortable and clean. Air con was old and quite noisy though luckily with being up in a mountainous region it was cool at night therefore not required at that time. Pool area was a bonus, and better than expected. Didn't use the breakfast facility, though it looked good. Located […] at the bottom of Mariposa, it was easy enough to walk out to surrounding restuarants, though those with walking problems may struggle as it is uphill going into the town. This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. First the room was not what I had reserved, when you opened the door it hit the bed, no closet, small 19" tv on a small corner stand, no room what so ever. The bathroom, OMG filthy, there was black mold, dust and all kinds of hair all around the base of the teeny tiny shower both inside and out. My husband […] and I had to wear flip-flops in the shower. There was yellow stuff dried on all around the base outside of the shower that faced the toilet that looked like urine. There was a 4-6" gap between the vanity and shower that was full of hair, dirt, black stuff, just filthy as it had never been cleaned. The toilet seat was broken and wouldn't stay in place. The maid would never give us more than 2 very thin towels and didn't dump our trash the entire time (5 days). We asked to move but was told there were no other rooms available and because of the time of year(Memorial Day weekend) all the other hotels around Yosemite were booked. The carpet was filthy, if you had white socks they were not after walking around the room. I would not let my dog stay at this place and even after a shower we felt grungy!!!!! Needless to say we couldn't wait to leave to come back to Georgia. Mehr

Yosemite is a busy venue and the Comfort Inn is obviously in demand because it's difficult to find other accommodation. It's OK, but would try something newer next time

Hotel is located about an hour drive from Yosemite Valley. Room is clean and comfortable. Good breakfast that included eggs, sausage and waffle. Need some newer towels.

Was not as close to Yosemite as described on the website. During busy season it will take you one and half hours to get to Yosemite Valley. They put us on third floor;had to climb(with our luggage)up open ended concrete steps. We arrived very early so a better room could have been available had we known where they were putting us. Drapes falling down […] in room due to broken rod. Very noisy. Towels and paper products very flimsy for the price. Breakfast was good. Service people pleasant, though. Mehr

There are other hotels closer to the park, but once you have to get in your car, the extra drive isn't that big a deal. The benifit is a decent selection of dining in Mariposa.We would definately stay here again, if we couldn't get a room in the park.

Nice place to stay and close to Yosemite. A well done complimentary b'fast .. clean rooms and friendly staff. Definitely would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Clean and nice but not over the top. Outdoor pool very, very cold..... not heated (put sad face here). Why advertise a pool that no creature except a polar bear could use? Breakfast wimpy but with good coffee and Wall Street Journal on the up side. Wonderful town, very friendly with great places to eat.

Staff was very helpful. The free breakfast is very nice: make your own waffles, toast, danishes, cereal, tea, coffee, juice, crumpets were all very nice. For being an older building, the king bed room was comfortable. Couch was in good condition as well as interior furniture. The only beef was the shower head, it was at the 5 foot level, being over […] 6 feet, had to duck to wash hair, but hey, was there to see friends and Yosemite, not hang out in the shower. Mehr

Nice motel and becuase of the midweek off season fairly quiet. There were probably six total rooms occupied and two guest were in adjoining rooms, never can understand this logic. The internet was off and on with low signal. The continenetal breakfast was sparse: waffles, two kinds of cereal, small pastry, and bread.
