"Pool Not open, Dirty bathroom"
paid extra to stay only because of indoor pool , NO notice that pool was closed , bathroom very dirty .
"Excellent quality"
We moved to this Hampton inn after we found out that the pool at the hampton Inn in downtown charleston was out of order . Hotels.com was great about moving us and we are so glad we did! This Hampton inn was much nicer than the original one we booked. It was little off the beaten path but worth it. The pool and hot tub were excellent with trendy lounge […] areas to hang out. Fitness area was very state Of the art. Clean /updated room and nice breakfast. For this level hotel, this a great find! Mehr

We had an excellent stay there. The employees were nice and very helpful during our stay there. I would recommend this hotel for anybody.

We had a great stay. The staff of the hotel was great. They made us feel like we where at home. When we need to stay inCharleston again i will be staying at that hotel again.
"Shuttle a great thing."
The shuttle was a big plus for us,I kept my granddaughter at the pool while my daughter used the shuttle to get her errands done. Plus it was FREE!

The room was ok, but the bed wasn't that comfortable.
"Issues......solved"
When we arrived there and got to our room. We noticed a faint smell. Not horrible but noticeable. I then walked around the room to discover that there was a A/C leak that had expanded about 2 feet out from the a/c unit. I called the front desk to let them know of the issue. It was about 10pm when we arrived so when I called they offered to move us and […] also informed me that the maintenance would be in about 8am the next morning. Since it was in the corner and really didn't effect us we stayed in room and when we left the next morning for the day they came to fix it. We got back around 4 in afternoon and they had fixed the A/C and had swept the floor and also shampooed the carpet. Still wet but was better and fixed. Staff was fantastic, great customer service and we made the best of what could have been a bad situation. I would stay again. Mehr

"Helpful staff - great location"
My son and I were on our way back home from picking him up at college. The hotel is perfectly located - right off of the interstate and within walking distance of a variety of food choices. We woke up on Sat. and got a call from the front desk alerting us that we had a flat tire - it was good to have a head's up and not walk out to that without knowing […] - AAA fixed and we were back on the road - but the gal at the front desk was VERY helpful in letting us know. Make sure you tell them to turn the heat on for the pool because if you don't it is to cold to swim.

"CIVIC CENTER CONVENIENCE"
We had a great stay and loved the convenience of being in walking distance to the Charleston Civic Center and the Mall. I was able to leave my vehicle at the hotel the entire stay, which spared me from the inconvenience battling traffic and parking garage lines. The hotel room had a very comfortable bed, was very clean & quiet; the staff was helpful […] and polite. Breakfast hours were generous, which made our morning activities more flexible. A nice surprise was the free popcorn and cookies offered in the lobby! Little things like that always make an enjoyable stay! This is one of the few hotels in the area with an indoor pool and hot spa for those not wanting a weather-dependent swim-perfect for our springtime visit. If I could recommend anything to the hotel, it would be to improve the ventilation systems in the bathrooms. There were vents, but no fans, so our mirrors were foggy for hours after each shower and all the hotel restrooms, although clean, could have benefited from better air circulation for obvious reasons. Another recommendation would be to prohibit water squirters from the pool area. There were three children out of control in a very crowded pool that made other children and guests miserable. I blame the lack of respectable parenting for the offending children not to realize how rude they were for squirting strangers, especially after they were asked to stop. If rules were posted and a staff member could have enforced them by restricting the water squirters, the pool visit would have been more enjoyable for everyone. Aside from the pool visit, I would say our overall stay was great and i will definitely book again for any future visits to the Charleston Civic Center. Mehr

Front desk service was remarkably poor. They didn't let us know the pool wasn't open. They did not know about the downtown trolley. They weren't helpful in any way. The room itself was fine and the breakfast service was good.
