Jan. 2013
Just 1.5 blocks from Zocalo, quiet at night. Good Air Condition. Only negative was that you couldn't open the window which I guess in due to 5th floor room. Breakfast as mentioned in the other ratings expensive - or say on a regular business chain price level which for regular travellers is too much. But Starbucks reachable via an extra door inside of the hotel lobby, Vips around the corner as well as an OXXO, 7Eleven store, Subway, PizzaHut and whatver else I haven't noticed nearby. Very safe area, good Metro connection, bilingual staff.
"Zentral gelegen"Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 2. Jan. 2013
Alles in allem sehr OK, zentral gelegen.
Dez. 2012
Good hotel in classical style. My standard room was a little small. But main reason why I picked this one is the very central location in the old city. Perfect combination. Also relatively close to the airport. Only styayed one night, so had no chance to gather more experiences.

"Old friend that has seen better days"
It's not your standard business hotel, it looks like it has been refurbished since the 70s. However, the staff is very friendly , location good, close to the city center but not that close either.I keep going back always because, although it wont impress anybody, it's a cheap a reliable option to stay while in Mexico CityAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"Excellent Basic Hotel"
Very good staff, extremely clean. Comfortable place to stay if you want something simple and basic and inexpensive. Do not be swayed by the idea of a free continental breakfast - it is juice/coffee and sliced fruit that is sitting out and toast. They want you to sit down and eat just that and tip them. Other than the breakfast thing, it's excellent […] !! MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"It's in downtown budget hotel."
The hotel was run down, needs serious renovation. Hotel front desk was friendly except that big guy that works night shift (with one eye almost closed) he wasn't helpful at all and mean looking, not a smile on his face, not willing to negotiate price, expedia has much lower price. So, we ended up booking one night at full rack price like $65. The hotel […] is close to everything and is just good enough for sleep although the bed is hard and the sheets aren't fitted (that was annoying). We ended up staying for the rest of the 6 days trip coz we booked through expedia and the rate was like $30+/night (the cheapest in DF). The bathroom sliding doors can't be closed and is leaking water when taking a shower. There's only one restaurant with only ONE waiter serving all the guests. The free "continental" breakfast was a toast and few slices of watermelon or cantaloupe and free coffee refills. The carpet was very old (see pictures attached). We always order something from the menu and the food is good (price is fair). We always go out to eat the real mexican street food and try local restaurants. Wi-fi works in the lobby and near the elevator hallway not in our room. There's always food tray on top of the trash on the 6th floor lobby sitting for days. So, on the third day i placed it in the elevator and sure it was removed immediately. If you are on the budget and spend money somewhere else so this hotel is for you otherwise, if you want some perks go somewhere else. MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung
This is an old hotel but it's clean. Stong smelt of carpet cleaner was bother us. The Front Desk staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. We left our bag in the taxi frm hotel to bus station, we called the Font Desk staff, Laura, frm the bus station. She quickly called the cab and found our bag. The cab driver will turn it to her and she will keep […] the bag until we finish our cities trips and back to DF and certainly will stay there again. Prim hotel needs new towel and room heater. Also, drink water and coffee maker will be great (not common in Mexican hotel seem like). The location is very convenient. Less than 10 minutes walk to Reforma and the turibus stop. "Nice hotel for a great price"
This is a good choice for the budget minded traveler. It is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful. No Espanol? No Problem. They will do their best to help. The location is only a couple of blocks from la Reforma and Insurgentes, two of Mexico City's major thorofares and within walking distance. As a bonus, there is a first class cabaret […] show on weekends in the hotel cocktail lounge, a rarity these days in the USA. BTW, in Mexico, it is normal to leave a deposit for the remote control because they usually dont require a credit card swipe. Also, a continental breakfast in Mexico is sweet bread and coffee (2 of the complaints on other reviews. So stay at the Prim and save your money for more travel. Or stay at the American branded hotels and pay 3-4 times as much for just a little more amenities. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

You can hear everything through the walls. There weren't enough towels for my family in the bathroom even if I mentioned this to the lobby staff and they promised to fix it. There were some drunk people that required the attention of the hotel's security. Doors look too easy to be opened from outside.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung
"Decent stay"
We had no issues with our stay. The staff was curteous and helpful. The housekeeping staff was adequate, daily cleanliness of the hotel was fine. My only criticism would be that the hotel was old and a bit run down; matresses and pillows were adequate but not particularly lush, towels were old and rough, carpet old and worn, bathroom tile and fixtures […] old and stained. Met my minimum requirements - safe and clean. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

My hotel experience was fine. Since they do not have aircon and heat, I would suggest staying here only when temperatures are mild, which is most of the year.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung
"Nice Hotel but Beware"
The hotel is easy to book and prepay through Expedia that way you dont have to deal with the whole conversion or pay an additional 3% to your visa or mastercard. or even 1% getting the cash from an ATM. DO NOT ask the hotel to change $$ into Pesos. They will offer you 10 pesos to the dollar which is ridiculously low, considering the rate yesterday […] was 12.8. If you have a large amount you are taking, just use an ATM CARD and if you just need a little conversion, use a Casa De Cambio or take your passport to Scotia Bank. "A quaint hotel at a good price."
The little hotel is well located, It is affordable, although the rooms lack heat and that can be a problem at the altitude of Mexico City. Given this in mind better bedding is required to keep the guest warm. A heavy comforter is needed. There is a 24 hour corner store 3 blocks away from this hotel for very early coffee requirements.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"Dirty sheets!"
The pillow and sheets were with several head hairs and even the other kind of hairs that you don't want to find on your pillow in a hotel! I was moved to another room and it was the same. Night staff were very friendly and concerned (men). Morning female staff at reception they didn't care at all about my bad experience. Restaurant staff were very friendly. "Good but DO NOT GET A TAXI FROM THEM"
Overall, it was OK. The only thing I would warn is their "help to get a taxi." I ask them for a taxi and when I arrived at the Central Camionera, the taxi driver charged me $250 pesos which was ridiculously high. DO NOT USE THEIR HELP FOR TAXI SERVICE.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"Good value hotel"
You wont spend your honeymoon there but if you want an economic option not that close to the centro that makes it dangerous, the Prim is the right choice. Close to Reforma, but unfortunately far away from the metro station. However, for 20 pesos taxi you are in Roma or Zona Rosa in less than 10 minutes.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung
Hotel too old, cleanliness too poor, old plumbing, the rate was so good just for sleep in or visit other places and don'tn worry about the night payment; The best thing in the hotel was the breakfast, it was so great and tasteful.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung
"No complimentary water bottle , dirty cups ."
Hotel Prim was clean for the most part. I booked online a smoking room and upon arrival filled out a paper that said "smoking". When we got in the room it was non smoking. No big deal but when we went to request a smoking room the staff did not want to change our room. After a bit of talking the employee led us to a room on another floor. The "smoking […] floor" was noticeably more dirty than the last, and all the lights were turned off as to hide the stained carpets. We got inside and it was not as nice as the previous room, and I noticed there was no bottle of water in this room. In the first room there was a bottle of water and two empty plastic cups over top of the bottle. Not in this room, no bottled water.. I found nothing but 2 empty plastic cups and one of them had lipstick on it! Not my own lipstick, but someone else 's! I told the front desk about it and and a lady said she would take care of it but never did. Poor service. Another thing, the ad also says this place has Airport shuttle service, nope. It's an over priced taxi they call for you. False advertisement as well! MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

Did not provide a bathtub plug.Short on towels. The secure Taxi that was offered from the Prim was more expensive than their rate list claimed.Expedia claimed in their add that WiFi was available. It is not available and we had to walk 2 blocks and use a Cyber -Cafe.The cleaning staff took 2 hours to clean the room, they had to launder the sheets(i assume […] they had no extras)The only half decent things here are the Concierge and the restaurant waiters who of course put the extra effort in for the tips.We have stayed here prior to this visit and did not encounter these problems. We will not be returning to The Hotel Prim and also advise anyone using Expedia to phone thehotel first to ensure you get what you are paying for-WiFi . Hotel Prim has nice service. An older, not updated hotel which was very basic. Firm bed, no A/C, no screens in window with some occasional noise and mosquito. Take a fan and you'll be okay. "A complete scam!"
The actual hotel and the photos they post are not the same, the photos show a nice well taken care place, but in reality the hotel is very old, wasted, and stinky. We arrived around 10 am, check in time is at 1:00 pm, so they charged me a full extra day to let us in, which I paid because we where very tired from the trip. They gave us a very small room, […] compared to what the photos show. From the moment you step into this place there is a funny smell, from the desk, the elevators, to the room and the restroom, is hard to tell what smelled worse. My wife and I sleep for two hours and that was as much as we could take from this place. I called hotels.com customer service to change our reservation and 20 minutes after we where on our way to another hotel, which ended been a very decent place. I had to pay a cancellation fee but it was worth it. I asked the guy that helped us carry our stuff to the room about complains, and he said that everybody that makes their reservation over the Internet complains that the photos and the actual hotel are not the same. Don't let your self be scammed and skip this stinky place. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung
