Lodge Hotel and Conference Center - Bettendorf, IA

Had a great time and enjoyed teasing my room mate of staying in a haunted castle. The rooms were very nice and the price was unbelievable. The only thing I would say to improve on is the bedside table could use some repair.

I stayed in this hotel in 1980 when it was Jumers and it was beautiful. I was excited to stay again, but it wasn't the same. The lobby, restaurant, and bar still seemed very similar. I was satisfied with the value and comfort at the Lodge. The style is unique and a fun change of pace from newer chain hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I'll stay there again next time I'm in the Quad Cities.

I have stayed at the Lodge before and enjoy it very much. It is not the most modern hotel, but it is warm and comfortable; the rooms are very clean and quiet; the beds are very comfortable, and they have a wonderful Sunday brunch with smoked salmon and champagne. We had a great room, only a few minor setbacks...with this booking we didnt get a breakfast and didnt know it until we sat down and then afterwards they gave us a bill for 20.00, for BREAKFAST ! nothing out of the ordinary from other free breakfast but besides that the hotel was great and the staff went out of their way to make our stay great. Hotel was like stepping in to a 1970 swedish ski resort. Very cool and classic in design. The room was comfortable although there were 3 lamps in the room and none of them worked. Beds were only ok, too spongy. Breakfast was excellent.

This hotel is beautiful inside and out. The rooms and style of it has a renaissance feel to it: the headboard was covered in fabric and went to the ceiling, frames throughout the hotel were gold frames, the decor had that "castle" feel, there is a pool, sauna in mens and womens restrooms, and a hottub in average condition, the windows were stained glass. […] This hotel was great for the great price that we paid. The design and decor of this hotel is reminiscent of a castle; from the lobby right into the rooms. We did not use the computer, pool, exercise room, bar, restaurant, or room service. Therefore, our rating does not reflect the quality of those facilities.

in the day this place was probably very nice. Now this place is struggling to maintain simple things like phones in each room, rooms are VERY outdated and behind on maintenance. The Lodge is not for the traveler who wants everything brand new and 21st century. If you like quiet and old-fashioned, the Lodge is the place to be. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed--and very quiet, which I appreciate. The lobby and all the public areas are beautiful, with real oil paintings, antique furniture, and a big gas fireplace. There is no wi-fi, but there is broadband and a computer in the lobby where one […] can check email, surf the Web, etc. They have a great restaurant, a nice indoor pool and spa, and a game room. This hotel is in desperate need of a facelift. Thirty years ago this place was a gem. Now it's tired, smelly and outdated.

This hotel was formerly Jumer's Castle Lodge. In it's hey day this was an awesome hotel. The new "Lodge" is suffering. The clerk at the desk when we checked in was quite rude. The hotel owner is not re-investing in the property. It is dirty and very worn. The blankets have holes in them and the bedspreads are VERY faded. The heating unit in our room […] was not regulated well. I had to prop the window in December to cool off. The pool area smelled VERY bad. There were children running the halls above us. I complained countless times. The only good thing is that the bed was comfortable. I would say stay for the ambiance but it is so worn and dirty, there isn't really any left. It's sad that a beautiful hotel is on it's last leg. Mehr

It was wonderful that this unique hotel accepts pets. Our dog was welcomed and we saw several other dogs in the halls. This was originally Jumer's Castle Lodge and they've kept the medieval decor. It's quaint and the lobby has a lovely fireplace. The room was just fine, and we were happy to have a place to stay close to family.

I've stayed at this hotel many times in the past but was the first time for my husband. The two of us enjoyed excellent front desk service when checking in. The rooms are spacious and clean. Only issue was the "stopper" for the bath tub wasn't working so improvised with taking a towel to close up the opening to the drain and then enjoyed a warm bath. […] Again, during check out; staff was professional and helpful in finding restaurants and directions to our destinations while in Davenport. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody-for an event or overnight stay! We stayed because a friend was holding her wedding reception there. As I was a part of the wedding party, I know that it was very expensive to have the reception here. However, the service was not what you would expect for such a price tag. The food was cold and the kitchen […] staff didn't make enough of one of the dinner selections (even though an order was placed ahead of time). Some of the guests had to eat the other dinner selection because the one that they ordered ran out. The service was bad to the wedding guests and the parents table got served last! After the reception, we headed to our room. The hotel is very old and getting extremely run down and it shows! Our shower was broken, but the worst part was when we went to crawl in bed! We turned one of the pillows over and discovered that it was covered in blood! That's disgusting. When we carried it down to the front desk, the lady there played dumb and only offered us a clean pillow case. Blood in a room in unexceptable! Plus that just shows that the linens aren't completely changed after each guest leaves...disgusting! Don't EVER stay at this hotel!! Mehr

We love staying at the Lodge. It is an older property, but still great. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel so you don't have to leave for food, etc. Give it a try.

This hotel used to be quite nice; no more. I travel to Davenport 3x/yr and have stayed here numerous times. The quality of room/overall service have gone down. Everything desperately needs an update: bath, TV, furnishings all 70s vintage. Carpet needs replacing. Staff: when checking out after 3 nights, was told, "OK, you're all set." No thank you, no […] asking if everything was all right, nothing further. Clearly they're not trained to be customer-oriented or have any inclination re finding out what/how they could improve. The other 3 (and 2.5) star hotels in the area are all superior in comfort and service. Mehr

We stayed here before, but the hotel has become outdated. The interior of the rooms looks to be ages old. We had to call the front desk a few times due to loud individuals.

Older hotel but satifyingly (sp?) clean. Didn't eat at hotel restaurant or try the bar. Very quiet. big rooms, comfortable beds. All around decent. The indoor pool also looked nice but didn't try it. So, maybe it's just me, but I get so tired of the cookie cutter hotels...once you've seen one you've seen them all. Once in a while I'm all for something different, and the Lodge was just the ticket. When I drove up, the first thing I thought was, "Is this place actually open?" Picture a German-style hunting lodge of the 1800's and you've nailed it, […] especially if you add Madeline Kahn, Marty Feldman and Frau Blucher (insert horse sounds here) looking out of the tower windows at you. The grounds are badly neglected, the roof outside my window had a nice crop of alfalfa or something growing out of it, and overall, it looks like it's going to keel right over. Inside, the place is amazing! Antlers on the light fixtures, a giant iron chandelier in the lobby, right next to the huge, REAL fireplace. it was dark, and warm, and absolutely awesome! The people were over the top, esppecially the Barkeep in the cave-like Brewhaus. My room was clean, the TV was fine, the bathroom was as nice as most I've stayed in over the las few months. Overall, i feel bad that the place's days have passed her by, and I believe that she's doomed, unless people's senses of adventure return to what they were 35 years ago. Pool/Sauna was nice since it was open 24 hours. The hotel was very old and huge, but other than that, just an average hotel.

When we arranged to stay here we had remembered it as Jumer's Castle Lodge. Whereas, the hotel was clean - everything was really run down. The sheets were thin and the furniture was old and chipped. It did not have the old world charm of the past. It was not antique furniture - just old furniture. The wall paper in the bathroom was coming loose. The […] staff was competent and the place was very quiet - not too many people were staying there. We were on ground level and I would have been interested to see the quality of the tower rooms. Too pricey for these accomodations. It was convenient to everything we wanted to do, but I would not stay there again. Mehr

The hotel needs better bedding, updated TV, and a new look. We actually laughed out loud at the medieval decor.

The hotel staff was very nice and everything was ready as we arrived. The room was musty and warm and it didn't get better after we turned the A/C up. It stayed warm in the room. We switched rooms the second night and it was no better. The king suites seemed to be nicer and cooler as was the restaurant and reception hall. I would recommend staying next […] door. Mehr

Whether it is the inconvenient placement of power cords or the leaking windows, this hotel has slipped from quaint to old. Many of the little rustic parts of the hotel are slipping into decay. The heater had one speed, high and hot. That meant a whole night of getting up to turn on and off the heater. There are better hotels in the area that are […] worth the additional dollars. Mehr

The Lodge more than surpassed our expectations. The staff bent over backwards to assure everything was right. The place is very unique in that it has a lot of antiques and the rooms would remind you of an old European hotel. The bathroom and fixture were very modern and the hotel was very clean. Got an great price from hotels.com -- and got one of the new suites in the tower. The only ONE minor detail that didn't bother me but may bother others is the bed was very firm. The staff was very professional and informative, and the other guests were friendly. Even my pup loved it and they loved him. Wouldn't have found it without hotels.com! Thanks […] again! needs updated, 1970 style rooms, good food there, nice people working I got a great rate there so i would stay again, there asking price for a room I would not stay there (to depressing)

This was the best Hotel I have ever stayed at . It was very clean and the people were super nice and courteous . I recommend anyone gets the chance to stay there and enjoy all the hotel has to offer . It was a great experience and I will be doing it again very soon ,,

One of the best deals I've ever gotten on a hotel. Close to everything including expressways and all casinos! Friendly staff. Loved the old hotel, which had a lot of charm!
