ein gutes Hotel mit einer super Lage an der Küste und einem tollen Blick über den Ozean, der Santa Monica Pier ist in 5 Gehminuten erreichbar, das Personal ist freundlich und stets hilfsbereit, lediglich die Parkgebühren sind etwas hoch (aber für LA normal)

Das Hotel liegt sehr günstig, man kann fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß gehen. Selbst nach Los Angeles kann man beim Hotel auf dem Santa Monica Blvd bis Hollywood geradeaus fahren und die meist vollgestopften Highways umgehen. Man sieht auch mehr. Beim Aufzug im Hotel sieht man sich versetzt nach Paris zu dem Film Frühstück bei Tiffany. Wunderschön […] die Terrasse speziell morgens beim Frühstück. Schönes Hotel in exponierter Lage direkt am Strand (Straße überqueren und man sitzt im Sand). Service war gut und Hotelpersonal stets freundlich. Zimmer waren modern ausgestattet und sauber! Santa Monica ist super schön, auch wenn Mitte Oktober nicht mehr allzu viel Abends los ist. Freundlich, sauber, gut ausgestattet. Das Hotel hat sehr viel Ambiente und ein angenhmes Flair. Alles ist liebevoll eingerichtet und vorbereitet. Nichts für Reisende die lieber standartisierte Hotelketten buchen wollen. Leider durch die Promenadenstraße und den Highway vom Strand getrennt.

Excellentes Hotel in Santa Monica mit sehr grossem Charme! Ideal erreichbar von LAX Flughafen, um anschliessend im nördlichen LA und Umgebung (Beverly Hills, Hollywood) Tagesausflüge zu machen. Lage am Pier von Santa Monica und 3rd Street Promenade von Santa Monica erlaubt gemütliche Spaziergänge.

Gute Lage Nicht weit zum Pier Unmittelbar in der Einkaufsstrasse

Eine riesige Suite mit super bequemem riesigen Doppelbett. Der Strand ist nur wenige Meter vom Hotel entfernt, sowie die 3rd Street zum Einkaufen ganz nah. Einfach super.

great ambiance, very clean, great location

When we first got to the Georgian hotel we were greeted by the friendly staff there even had our bags brought in, our room was very clean, bathroom was very nice and we even got free chocolates and free wifi aswell, we were here on our honeymoon so the Georgian was very close to the main street where all the shops and amazing restraunts, also each night […] you get free chocolates aswell as free newspaper each morning, it is the first hotel with all the bar food on display which was a bit different but otherwise fine,it is also close to the Santa Monica beach and also if you like Mexican the border grill is amazing about a 10min walk from the hotel, summing up a very nice hotel with amazing sea view. The only negative would be that from the Photos I thought it was actually going to be on the beach but there was a road between the Georgina and the beach. Mehr

The hotel is an old hotel but it is in good condition. I liked the hotel and the area but for the price i paid for it wasn't worth it. Pros: location, free wifi, Friendlu front desk, Cons: no parking you have to give your car to vale but two buildings before the hotel there is a public parking which is way cheaper then vale. I cannot say enough about how great this place is. The cafe has a wonderful view of the pier, Santa Monica beach and the Malibu Mountains. Two blocks away is the third street with live music, food and shops. Two blocks away is a farmer's market on the weekend. The staff was fantastic and the room was lavish. We will be back soon.

I arrived before the check in time and the desk clerk was so accommodating - "your room is ready" she chirped. With only one bag, I guided myself to my room on the 7th floor in a old fashioned (hotel was built in 1933) elevator with the help of a "elevator operator" My room had a frontal view of the Pacific Ocean - the Santa Monica pier within sight. […] There was one slight "engineering" problem in my room which was fixed within moments of my report. Overall, the Georgian has a wonderful atmosphere and attentive help in an attractive 1933 setting. I would definitely stay and recommend this hotel to anyone interested in enjoying a low key stay in Santa Monica. Mehr

This hotel has a lot of character and the rooms are beautiful in a refurbished antique sort of way. With the exception of the check-in in which I was greeted by a surly individual who had no desire to serve, the quality of the service was superb. The location is fantastic. This is a wonderful hotel for anyone who likes vintage hotels. It does not have a soda machine and the sheets did not smell clean to us. The hotel is a couple of blocks from all the shopping and looks across to the pier so that is wonderful. The parking is valet only. I was very grossed out by the smell of the bed. It smelled like a man had slept in […] it and I was disappointed. Otherwise it was clean, well decorated, mini bar in room, movie rentals on tv. Great vintage hotel. There are tons of restaurants very near as well as the strip of shops and a shopping mall. As expected there was road noise at night because it is on a main road. This hotel was amazing. Old fashioned style, but modern in its cleanliness. Perfect location for the LA marathon. Close to the pier and 3rd street promenade. Loved it!

I always stay at the Georgian when in LA. Location excellent, the hotel is historic and has a great feel to it. The staff go out of their way to provide guests with excellent service. One of my favourites.

Excellent view of the ocean and Ocean Blvd from my room, but had to keep the windows closed because of all the noise from the traffic and crowds below. Charming room in this vintage hotel, though no comfy chairs to be found. I'm sure there are no inexpensive hotels is this neighborhood, but hotel is quite pricey.

Loved everything about this hotel - right on Ocean Avenue with a view of the Pacific Ocean, great welcome from Gene and Lynn at Reception, the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in and a stylish terrace bar to watch the world go by. Great Art Deco features and close to bars, breakfast joints like the wonderful Cora's and shopping malls.

Lovely period art deco hotel ideal for a stopover in LA. Only downside for us was the lake of space, small restaurant and only a few easy chairs for guests if the weather is bad.

Clean, friendly, and ideally located all at a reasonable price. This is an older hotel with modern amenities and a quaintness you can't get at the chains.

great location, perfect for walking around santa monica. Price was well worth it, other hotels on same street were more $. Room was average size and newly remodeled.

What a great hotel with historical character and service to match. One cannot beat the prime location with awesome ocean front views. I've stayed several times and will be back again!

Supernice hotel! Loved it! Friendly staff. Only bad thing is that there was no pool and the gym was like à closet. But there are other good gym and yoga places nearby. Expensive but good valet parking. Would definetely stay again.

Character and charisma from the "old Hollywood" days. Although built many years ago, well maintained and rennovated. Fabulous Santa Monica location and service-oriented staff.

The hotel is fine but very over priced. The location is noisy and Santa Monica has neither charm nor character, unless one likes the usual brand name stores and urban din. The hotel makes it clear guests are not to be trusted as it has installed in each room a sensor table on which food amenities are placed. Any slight movement of a cup, bottle, or […] package results in an immediate charge to the bill, even if the item was touched accidently. We had to insist, over great front desk reluctance, to have the items placed in a drawer by hotel staff. It took two days for the pseudo-charges to be removed from our bill. It's not a bad hotel, but neither is it special as to justify the price. Mehr

I travel a lot with my job and I'm in LA every other week. I've stayed at many hotels but this was the worst nightmare ever. First, my room shared a wall with the elevator. As soon as I saw that I asked that they move me because I am an insomniac and wake easily. They said only one other room was available, it was a the top of the hotel and painted […] a different color from all the other rooms. I knew it wasn't used regularly and it smelled like mold and mildew so I agreed to stay in the elevator room. Sure enough the banging of the doors (it echoed from other floors down the shaft) kept me awake through the night along with the toilet flushing on it's own and pipes clunking. To top it off the hotel didn't have room service that night, it's closed Tuesday's and they had to order some dinner for me from the restaurant next door. They don't offer cards to hang on the door for in-room breakfast, you have to order. As a business traveller I want convenience and service and most of all rest so I can have a clear head for my work day. None of these were afforded to me at this hotel. They did move me the second night of my stay to a more quiet room, but there were plenty of rooms available the first night too, the bellboy told me it was a quiet time. Why did it have to take a full 24 hours and my constant complaining to get a decent nights sleep. This hotel works best for European travelers who don't expect US service. I'm European myself, spoilt from the good service in this country and expect it now. Especially for the price, this place isn't cheap. Won't be coming back. Mehr

Found this hotel to be great. We had a junior suite and it was lovely and very roomy. Mini bar very well stocked. The hotel is so central to Santa Monica. Over the road from the pier, close to a wonderful steak house (Boa) and to the 3rd promenade shopping mall. The hotel was very quite - no road or pedestrian noise. This hotel was all and more than we were hoping for. Clean, fresh, great location and all we needed for comfort and convenience for the Santa Monica sights.

It doesn't get any better than this- we hadn't been before and we thought it would be good, but it's a lot better than good: The Georgian is an awesome in a gorgeous art deco building. We'll be back. This hotel is an historic hotel and has ties with the Kennedys which appealed to me as a Kennedy fan. However, the location itself is enough to recommend it. It is directly across from the Santa Monica beach and pier. We had an Ocean View room and it was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant especially the valets/bell staff and the lady who served […] the breakfast in the morning who was the most cheerful person in the world. The hotel is classic and the ocean view was a treat. We were well taken care of by the manager, Gene. We'll be back !

Overall very nice, but no pool, and watch out for the rooms on the far east side because you'll be next to the service area on each floor. As a result you'll hear clanking glasses, bumps and thumps from the hours of 10 am til 4ish pm. Otherwise this was a fine place.

We traveled here for our son's graduation from USC. Selected the hotel due to the proximity to the ocean. Loved the People - they were so accommodating and nice. The food was great - however HATED the mattress. They tried to help by adding a mattress cover however it did not help. Hope they replace their mattresses soon.

I have enjoyed breakfast on the veranda at the Georgian before, but had not stayed there prior to thsi trip. What a great place! My room was updated to all of the modern amaneities and finishes. It was cozy and intimate with friendly staff. Close proximity to some great restaurants (had a very nice seafodd donner nearbye) and a nice stroll to the Santa […] Monica pier, not to mention being directly across from the ocean and park... are all VERY nice. Absolutely fantastic (and famous) hotel! Wonderful and helpful people in reception. Very good location and if you get Ocean View room - the best view ever! 15 minutes drive by cheep local bus to Malibu. But be prepared to tip!

My husband and I (and our 10 month old) stayed at The Georgian for our anniversary in March. When we returned to our room after dinner on the pier, our entire floor smelled like marijuana smoke! We notified the manager who did everything possible to locate the smell and air out & deodorize the hallway. Eventually the smell came back and we didn't want […] our baby anywhere near that floor anymore. The manager moved us from our small ocean view room to a much larger suite (no view, but nicer room) and the next morning comped our parking and movie order. All in all, we were happy with how they handled the situation. We would stay there again. We loved the location, charmin character & history of the building and the great service. They even gave our baby girl a Georgian Hotel Annivesary rubber duckie and were quick to help us with her stoller up and down the stairs or on the wheelchair lift :) Mehr

The hotel is kept up nicely, yes. The staff is very helpful and outgoing, yes. The hotel "outwardly" is clean and tidy but it's the little things that count. For example, on their website they promised that there would be a bed, bowls and treats if we advised them we were traveling with our dog which we did. There was no treats or extras for our pet […] but they were sure quick to charge us the $100 non-refundable cleaning fee. Onto the gym equipment. Everything in the gym was very, very old and outdated. There wasn't any kind of a holder or bracket on any of the equipment to hold my water bottle or my electronic device. The equipment was dirty and there were no anti bacterical wipes (a must have these days in every gym). In fact, someone had come in from the outside with muddy shoes and the muddy feet print were still imprinted on the steps of the elictipcal trainer. The windows and the screens were filthy and you could barely see outside to the back parking lot/garbage area (a view that is not the best under normal circumstances). The water cooler handle looked like it hadn't been cleaned....ever. As far as our bedroom was concerned, I'll start with the windows in our suite. The windows there too were dirty inside and outside with greasy hand prints on the inside glass. The windows that faced out to the ocean made the view very dark and hard to see because the screens were THAT dirty. What good is it paying for and having an ocean view suite when you can't see OUT the window? I'm not usually a germ-a-phobic but these windows were really dirty. The ceiling fan in the bedroom didn't work. The safe in our room didn't work. There were no ice, soda, snack machines on our floor and you had to call down for ice. Of course each time they brought up the ice, required tipping which we found to be very annoying. The towels in the bathroom were not full sized and barely fit around you.There was literally one hook in the bathroom to hang your clothes and it was the kind of hook wh Mehr

Staying at the georgian during the LA marathon weekend was the best decision a runner can make, because the finish line is blocks away from the hotel. the shuttles prior to the race are only a few blocks away, which makes getting to/from marathon very easy. the hotel itself is beautiful, staff is friendly and overall it was a wonderful experience. 1 […] con: i got rushed out of my hotel cause check out was at 12pm - they weren't nice about it and didn't give me a much needed extra hour to recuperate from the marathon. The staff at the front desk were super helpful, friendly and professional. We had a room over the front street with a spectacular view. The hotel is quite old so the rooms and bathrooms are somewhat small but are very clean and well kept. The view and location make it well worth putting up with a smaller room than some other chain hotels. Also, the […] restaurant on the front porch is wonderful.
