Supernettes und hilfbereites Personal. Im Preis inbegriffenes Frühstück für amerikanische Verhältnisse überdurchschnittlich, sehr nett ist der ebenfalls inbegriffene Nachmittagstee incl. Wein und Gebäck! Leichte Abzüge bzgl. des Zustands der Zimmer, da die letzte Renovierung sicherlich schon etwas zurück. Das Hotel liegt 5-10 Gehminuten vom Union […] Square entfernt. Busverbindung in Richtung Downtown direkt vorm Hotel. Während die unmittelbare Umgebung unauffällig ist, kommt man in Richtung Marketstreet innerhalb weniger Blocks schnell in eher zwielichtige Regionen - die man aber gut umgehen kann. Mehr

zustand des hotels und des zimmers heruntergekommen, nach wassereinbruch umzug in ein weiteres zimmer in besserem zustand.alles in allem renovierungsbedüftig, schäbig und stillos. das frühstück fand in der lobby statt und befand sich in plastikkisten auf dem lobbytisch. die lage war ok, in der nähe des union square.

HIstorical building, friendly staff, pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, reasonable location and surprise: free wine, tea, coffee and snacks in the afternoon. Enjoyed staying there with my family for 3 days.

Hotel is close to Union Square and transport links. Walking in this direction is perfectly safe. Staff are eager to ensure your stay is to your satisfaction. Breakfast is basic although food runs short towards 10. Wine and cheese in late afternoon is a welcome addition. Pity hotel does not have a restaurant.

Second stay there with grand kids. Staff very friendly and tolerant of young children. Many good restaurants within a couple of blocks. Short walk to Union Square.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Beresford Arms. It is clean, beautiful, and the staff are wonderful. I have stayed there before and would definitely go back again. The room was great and I loved the jacuzzi tub. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

The hotel is perfect, good price, the room and the bathroom are big. Nothing to complaim about. The localization is wonderfull, close to downtown.

Great mini suite room for mom, daughter and friends. Kitchenette very helpful. Close enough to Union Square shopping. Great service, including continental breakfast in am and wine and cheese in pm.

We rented a room here while at a conference in the Moscone Convention center. It was a little walk from the convention center, but very easy. The rooms were very large, free wireless internet, huge bathroom, and ours had a kitchenette. Everything was clean, though it was an obviously older building- on the national historic registry apparently. It was […] a great find for the price and I would stay here again. Simple, clean, charming rooms. And as I said...an excellent location. The continental breakfast was a sugar-fest, so we did not partake. However, there are a number of excellent places to eat breakfast within walking distance, so no problem. Wine/cheese happy hour in the lobby was really pleasant. Can't beat the price!

It was just an okay hotel. Nothing fancy and nothing fabulous about the hotel. It is old and rusty at the dame time, but if you are looking for a hotel that is close to downtown SF this hotel is for you especially if you don't know the area in SF. The continental breakfast is very cheap and sugary. You have to park your car before they will take it […] to valet which is very ridiculous. I am paying $24 per day and want me to park my car? We were there for 3 nights. It feels uncomfortable at nights when we returned to the hotel - many homeless people asking money etc. They stood beside the hotel so hard to avoid them. Meanwhile the hotel is quite noisy and staffs weren't exactly helpful. We've had our breakfasts at a small landing area the whole time we stayed when the carpet fitting. […] They should finds a better place for that. Mehr

Three night stay with my wife and daughter. Great location at a hard to beat price, including the $27/day valet parking (about half the usual hotel rate). Property itself is dated, but fully functional with great kitchenettes in some rooms. Old TV with poor reception and bad sound was our only gripe. Had a good experience there, very good price, large room and bath. For me, location was good, about 12 minutes walk to Moscone convention center. Internet worked well and was free. Note that this is not a fancy new hotel, though the condition is quite satisfactory. Some might question the neighborhood--in the Tenderloin district, and a block or two […] west of nicer areas; I was comfortable there but some might not be. The areas to the south were a bit dicey. This was the perfect location for my brother and my trip. it was a great value with two queen sized beds and a big bathroom with two sinks. Breakfast was plenty and the coffee was great.

We picked this hotel b/c the reviews were good. We are not that fussy, but here's a summary of what it was like. When we got there, the service was not good at all. The entire building was stinky, including our room. The rooms were soo old and outdated and they didn't even have hair dryers in the room. We were told by ppl from the area, it is a sketchy […] area and it was located directly beside a hostel which was nosey all night. The breakfast included when we went downstairs had flies crawling all over it...everything about this place sucked! Mehr

I read the reviews and thought "oh since I'm going in November, I can close the windows and the noise won't bother me". Even with the windows shut, it was incredibly loud. the area is so so... you can find a better deal with just a bit more $$.

This hotel is a close walk to Union Square, as well as several Academy of Art University buildings. The staff was very nice and makes you feel welcome. They have an afternoon Happy Hour that is quite nice, many of the guests attended, and it seems to bring the visitors together nicely. Beresford Arms hotel is very convenient to Union Sq. and China Town, art galleries, and shopping though you are on a bit of a hill. The rooms are very clean, and the staff is very helpful. The complementary wine and cheese every evening was a really nice touch

We were very pleased with the hotel and its location. The rooms are very large and comfortable with two sinks, a bidet and a spa tub in the bathroom. It is very well located. Close to town and near bus and cable car. Breakfast is coffee and sweet rolls and there is wine and cheese in the afternoon. A great bargain for the price.

Family member was in the St Francis Hospital. Walking distance was easy. We had the 2 queen suite with the kitchen. Awesome room. Staff was very helpful on directions.

This hotel is centrally located in San Francisco, 4 short blocks from Union Square, the heart of the tourist city. The public rooms are lovely and our mini jacuzzi suite was very modestly priced yet was quite spacious, nicely furnished, had generous toiletries, 2 sinks in the bathroom, and was an overall good experience. A simple continental breakfast […] is served in the lobby, where a plethora of languages will be overheard. Staff was friendly and helpful, if a book overworked. A definite recommend! Mehr

I had a fairly decent stay overall. There were a couple of defects in the room, but only damaged the appearance and not the actual impact of my stay. Biggest issue was that the cleaning staff threw out my business receipts! Huge problem there.

Good location, clean but NO airconditioning. Breakfast consisted of some fruit and pastries, no cereal or juice.

The service at the hotel was excellent. When the desck heard it was an anniversary trip they upgraded us to a mini-suite. It had a huge bedroom, kitchen and bath. Easy walking distance to Union Square and cable cars. A bit worn in places but that just added to its character.

The hotel is a bit on the 'vintage' side, but charming. It is very well situated, close to everything and with very good connections to public transport. The staff is VERY helpful and nice. The breakfast is correct and the idea of an afternoon wine and cheese gathering is very good.

We booked a jacuzzi suite and the jacuzzi switch was disabled. At the end of a busy day you do not feel like calling management and moving to another room. Have stayed at this hotel 3-4 times.

I chose this hotel because of it's location and price, so I was certainly happy with the location. However, although the room was clean, there were no lamps, just one overhead light, which is very inconvenient to read by. Plus, I could feel the springs all over the mattress, which wasn't too comfortable. The clock radio was unplugged when I got there, […] and when I plugged it in, it didn't work at all. With a few updates (mattresses, lamps and working clock radios), I would recommend this hotel, but right now, I would say spend a few extra dollars and go elsewhere. Mehr

Dirty carpet, Tv old,small, channels jumping. I had to call twice the receptionist a 2 AM to have the party to stop next door. finaly I went back to sleep at 3AM. they should have a better coffee.

This hotel is set in a good central location near all the must see sights. I had never been to San Francisco before and was not sure what area to stay in.... this area was perfect as it was near the tube station, shops, bars, restaurants and only a short walk to most of the sights. The Room was perfect, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired. I had stayed at the sister hotel and their breakfast was great. I expected the same options.

The staff were very friendly. Clean and quiet hotel. Morning breakfast and complimentary wine & cheese every evening was a nice touch. Visiting with the other guest over wine and cheese was very nice. My 16 yr old son loved it too!

Location, service and amenities of free breakfast and free wine and cheese 4:30-5:30 pm make this an excellent choice. Comfortable rooms, large bathroom. Only criticisms were old, stained carpeting and proximity to hospital thus noise of emergency vehicles.

This has to be one of the best hotels for the price. We stayed here two nights and will be going back next time we visit San Francisco. 3 blocks from union square and all the metro lines you need to travel in the bay area. staff was very nice and helped with anything we needed. very historic hotel built in 1913 and shows this style top to bottom. the […] area around the hotel was very nice and did not have any problems walking around after dark and was not getting back till after 10pm both nights. The Beresford Arms staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed having the continental breakfast every morning but there also was the option of going right across the street to Paris Cafe for a very affordable quick bite before heading off to all the many things to do nearby. The location is great. San Fran has its share of homeless and, yes, one […] or two were around but never threatening. The Thai Stick kitty corner from the hotel was very good and open very late (till 1:00am!). So many things just three blocks away but be ready to walk the hills! See the Cathedral, the Fairmont Hotel, ride the trolley, check out the cable car museum, don't miss Alcatraz, the Exporatorium, Academy of Sciences, The Wharf and Aquarium etc, etc. Mehr

We were upgraded to a suite with 2 queens. It was quite spacious and had a huge bathroom with jetted tub as well as a separate room with kitchen (full size stove, apt. size refrigerator, dinette table). We didn't need all these things but the extra space was nice. Hotel staff were all helpful and friendly and the coffee and sweet rolls/donuts in the […] lobby in the morning were a nice bonus as well as the wine, cheese and crackers in the afternoon. It was a 3 1/2 block walk to union square (just don't go two blocks in the wrong direction!), so location was quite good. Overall, an excellent choice! Mehr
