San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina - San Diego

Das Hotel liegt in Fußwegentfernung zur Stadt und zur Metro, zugleich direkt an der Marina. Pool ist ideal für Kinder. Am Wochenende werden zusätzliche Aktivitäten wie Kino geboten. Viele Sportmöglichkeiten bestehen, die wir aber nicht getestet haben. Das Hotel ist sehr groß und weniger für Ruhesuchende geeignet.

Everything was awesome except they forgot our 4am wake up call. We had to be at the airport at 5am. Luckily for us I somehow woke up in time for us to frantically get to the airport.

Great neighborhood near Gaslight and marina. Great pool area. Nice views. Only criticisms --bed was too soft, hot tub blocked off every day for "private party"

Great location on the water and near the Gaslamp area

There was A LOT of street noise, and i was on the 16th floor. The noise kept me awake at night. The room had stale, musty air, and I am convinced there is mold in the air ducts because I instantly started having severe indoor allergy symptoms, and mold is the only thing I'm allergic to. The only restaurant in the hotel that serves dinnner was closed […] for renovation. They didn't mention this when I checked in, so I had to figure it out myself. The bed was so uncomfortable, my back and neck still hurt. The service staff did seem friendly. Mehr

Employees were terrific!

I booked our vacation on line and travelosity had us in a room with double beds although I had requested a king. The staff could not have been more friendly and professionally effective in transferring us to a proper room with the balcony and absolutely beautiful views. in great location for vacation. Like other business hotels these days, everything, such as wifi and parking, is extra. However, the kids loved the cool pool and the hot tub - and wonderful view over the bay (or city if on other side).

The hotel was superb and very close to the Gaslapmp District. The problem however was the railway tracks were just in front of the hotel and trains were running all day and night. When crossing the streets the bells were going off and a constant noise, train and the bells, every 5 to 10 minutes, literally!

The bay view was amazing. Food was great. near several events

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I had a beautiful bay view, the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is also in a great neighborhood, directly adjacent to the Convention Center and a stone's throw from the Gaslamp Quarter. I'll be back!

The hotel was in a great location, our room had a fantastic view and every staff member was friendly.

Great location, friendly staff, nice room. I got the room for my son's honeymoon. He and his wife were most pleased with the accommodations.

The service was excellent, the staff are very polite and friendly. I love it being pet friendly except the $75 pet fee is a little high. The double beds are little small and the mattress is little soft for me. Otherwise, it is a good place to stay.

Good location. Walking distance to the Horton Mall. Desk clerk very friendly. Be prepared to spend $28 a night for parking.

The Marriott Marquis is a great location for anyone, but especially for a family who enjoys all that So. Cal has to offer. The facility is exceptional. The room was decent size and the views extraordinary. My wife and I were engaged at the Embarcadero 17 years ago and only now had the opportunity to return w/our children to retreat at this great location. There's […] plenty of fun for the adults and children alike. Walking the Marina during the day and doing some shopping was an added bonus. We can't wait to return. This hotel is under construction. Also if you are staying on the "city" side of the hotel you will hear the trolley crossing bells all night - even on the top floor.

Within walking distance of Seaport Village, Gaslamp District, Aircraft Carrier Musem. We rented a car, but a bus/lightrail system is across the street. Short drive to Coronado Island and Balboa Park. We had a great trip and would stay there again.

Thoroughly enjoyed a weekend stay at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Resort. The resort and room were clean and looked to be recently remodeled. Valet and Bell service is available, as is self-parking on the premises. The resort offers balcony rooms (north tower) with views of the bay and city. The pools and jacuzzi were clean and appeared […] well kept-up. Roy's, an upscal fusion restaurant is on the property, past the outdoor cocktail bar, fire pits, and heated lounges. The marina and Seaport village are within walking distance and offer additional recreation, dining, and shopping, or just nice places to take a walk or a tour of the bay. For the more adventurous, the Gas Lamp Quarter is nearby, and Old Town San Diego is a 10-minute drive by car. A Red Trolley station is located across the street. The resort include amenities such as an on-site Starbucks, additional restaurant and lounge choices, a wine and cheese bar, gift shop, on-site fitness center (which we took advantage of), and several community rooms including a full-size ballroom. This is not a "discount" hotel, but the price was a good value considering the quality and comfort of our stay, location, and courtesy of the resort staff. Less than thrilling was the parking fee (which wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know about before-hand). Our experience dining at Roy's was good, but the Roy's in Woodland Hills provides a far better dining experience. Lack of kitchen-fresh bread and "boring" tasting starch choices detracted a bit from what we were expecting from previous Roy's restaurant experiences. Overall, 5 stars for the Resort stay. 3 1/2 stars for Roy's; they really need to be more in line with other locations in that fine chain. We'll be back soon for another stay! Mehr

Beautiful views of the bay from the rooms. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and will stay here next time I'm in town.

The person at check in was very unfriendly, was trying to show me unwelcoming attitude ... Very unusual for 4 star hotel ... Later I learned that I was charged double for valet parking ... Called front desk and was told that I will get phone call but never heard from them

The staff, property and service are absolutely extraordinary. During our visit, they accommodated every request, with a smile and quickly. If your travel takes you to the San Diego area, especially the harbor, stay at the Marquis!

The Marriott on Harbor Blvd in San Diego is in a picturesque setting with flowing lines and a beautiful view of the bay and city. We stayed on the 23rd floor with a city view and were very comfortable in the room. This property is a little deceiving because as a Marriott it doesn't have that "high service" attitude, but not a big deal I can roll 3 […] suitcases by myself. The one thing that killed the ambiance was the freight train which passes directly in front of the hotel. The train passed several times a day including at 2AM. The train itself didn't wake me, it was the whistle blowing at every crossing. If the first whistle doesn't wake you up, maybe the second, third, forth or maybe fifth crossing blow will finally get you up. There are 2 Hiltons, the Hard Rock, this Marriott and a Hyatt on this street. No wonder the rates are so cheap. If you're a light sleeper, stay away from Harbor Blvd Mehr

Hotel is in a great location with awesome room views of the bay and city. The only problem is they could not find our reservation at the front desk and also in the hotel restaurant, although they were very gracious about it. I would definitely return to this hotel.

From the moment we were greeted by the valet in our rental car to our check-out, the staff here couldn't have been friendlier or more professional. The valet parking fellows were very helpful and the concierge (Allen) really knew the area and steered us one of the best Italian restaurants I've eve eaten in; our clients were impressed. Yes, the rooms […] were nice, the food good, etc. but the quality of the staff is really what makes one return. Mehr

The Rooms were a little on the small side. Two queen sized beds would preferable to the two double beds that are currently in the rooms. Everything else about the hotel and location was excellent although onsite dining choices are limited.

We LOVED our stay. the hotel is not only BEAUTIFUL, but the staff was friendly and very efficient. Our room was great with fabulous views. The gift shops and restaurant were also great. All of our needs were met.We cannot wait to return!

We were staying at the hotel when the entire San Diego area was suddenly without power. The staff was quick to react and were very accommodating. The management had staff manning the service elevator and the one and only other elevator that was working. All were pleasant and professional. They even grilled hamburgers out by the pool for the customers. […] Hamburger, chips and a drink for $5 can't be beat. Good job Marriott. Mehr

We planned this romantic get away at the very last minute... I was so happy about everything this hotel had to offer us! The staff was wonderful, the surrounding areas gave us more than enough to do, and the memories we've created from staying there! I would recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone. The location and ambiance are excellent. However, we were double charged for parking and were unable to use express checkout because I had to go and take care of it at the front desk. There wasn't any bath soap in the room upon arrival, no turn down service(which I expect in a hotel of this caliber). These are all superficial and the overall stay was […] lovely. Mehr

Nice hotel and friendly employees. Incredible view from our little balcony. The pillows on the beds are not comfortable. They delivered a roll away bed which was nice of them, but it also was very uncomfortable. I think this hotel caters more to business travelers than vacations. Having Roy's nearby was a plus. Car valet lost our keys and we had to […] wait quite awhile for them to find them....which can happen, but paying $36 for valet made this seem over the top. Valet should have offered some sort of compensation or credit for their mistake. All in all, we had a good time but i would probably stay at the Hyatt next time for these kind of prices. Mehr

Our kids loved the pools. We loved the location.

Very large hotel. Next door to Convention Centre. Comic-con was taking place during our stay at the Marriott Marquis and so many people were staying at the Marriott from that convention. Lots of people dressed as their favourite character, made very interesting viewing! Rooms not overlarge but comfortable. Within our party, we had two rooms, both with […] city view. One room was at the end of the corridor and the window expanse wrapped around so we could also see the harbour. Trains are a problem when coming past the station opposite as they sound their loud siren more than once. Hotel very convenient for Gaslamp area and short drive from the Old Town and going across the bridge to Coronado. Nice pool at hotel and plenty of seating. A few places to eat at the hotel and lots of choice of restaurants nearby. Not enough lifts at the hotel for the size of the building so there was often a queue or wait time. Check in staff very helpful and plenty of bell staff/valets and always someone on duty to 'meet and greet'. Very relaxing stay. Overall, good hotel and great location. Mehr

We had a great experience with this hotel! The room was super clean and quite big. Also we enjoyed the balcony! We were visiting San Diego for only one night so we didn't have a chance to take a dip in the pool, but we did walk around it and it looked really FUN! Very vibrant place during my summer stay. Lots of families heading to the pool or nearby restaurants. Conventioners jealously eyeing the pool as they walk between sessions. This is the nicest Marriott I remember staying at -- a nice place in a very lovely and upbeat location.

Overall, an excellent hotel and good value (except the coffee and juice at breakfast - $8 each). Try to get a room on the Bay side, not only for the beautiful view, but because of the trains on the streetside. The hotel shares this problem with all the others in the area, including the Hyatt, Hilton and Embassy Suites.
