Madison Suites Hotel - Somerset

This is the first time I have ever done this. However, I feel it is necessary to let others know how poorly run this facility is. At 7:15 am the maintenance man was knocking on the door to ask if I called for help. I understand mistakes are made so I let that slide. At 9:00 am or so the housekeeping personnel came to the room while I was sleeping and […] then to make matters worse at around 10:30 am I was given a call from the front desk to remind me that check out was 12:00...Needless to say I wont stay there ever again. Bathroom showed visible signs of wear. Chipped tiles and rust on door.

I just stayed there one night only, I never really interacted much with the staff , but they appeared to be courteous and friendly. However, I will mention few things I noticed about the hotel. There is a musty smell emanating from the lobby and elsewhere (i.e my room), the hotel needs a major renovation inside out. There is no elevator to the second […] floor. The couch in my room was filthy and old. My 2-level room had a high ceiling with drapeless small windows, so it was impossible to darken the room to get a good morning sleep. They still those old bulky TVs. My bed was on the second level, had clean sheets , but it was uncomfortable. I am surprised that they still have rooms designated for smokers. The breakfast was ok, they have pancakes ( you make your own), boiled eggs , bagels, cereals, and drinks. Sugar is available , but no sugar substitute (I am getting picky here :)). Overall, I didn't like the hotel and I would not recommend. Mehr

i enjoy staying there

The people who work at this hotel were very kind and very efficient. The hotel is in need of some TLC. The wallpaper is beginning to peel and the carpet needs to be replaced. We were upgraded to a suite because all rooms were booked which was nice, but the hotel needed updated & needed a little paint in spots.

Never again will I stay in thr hotel.first of all the entrance to the back was terrible.the room had a heavy odor(non smokin).there was a huge spider that was in between the window and the screen.the people where ok but I didnt feel safe and I wouldve never had my children in a hotel like that.

There were many things that we were unhappy with this hotel. It was not in a very good area. The hotel was old and had a bad odor in the hallways. There were no linens on the boxsprings and you could feel the metal springs in the mattresses while you slept. There was only one channel that children might be able to watch on tv. We chose this hotel because […] of the cost and the availability of in-room wifi and the free continental breakfast. The wifi was down for the night we wanted to use it and the selection at the continental breakfast was minimal. We did not feel comfortable in the parking lot at night. The grounds were not kept up and the two trashcans out front were overflowing every time we passed them. HAVING SAID ALL THIS, THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND TRIED TO BE HELPFUL. Mehr

hotel rooms dirty found rat in cabinet. breakfast was horrible.

Very out dated. We just need a place to sleep in shower when in town and we wouldnt recommend it. Bathroom very outdated and no room. Beds not comfortable. Smelled musty. Very noisey late at night and very early morning. Had it not been paid for in advance, we wouldnt have stayed.

I am in Somerset often for business trips and I have stayed in many hotels in the Somerset area. Madison Suites Hotel will be my first recommendation for business travelers. Front Desk agents are efficiency, Breakfast foods are delicious, and Hotel offers free Wi-Fi and parking. Very professional hotel, I will definitely come back again.

OK, I guess if you're looking for a cheap place to stay this could be it. I was on business so I didn't have time to research. The internet signal there was just about non-existent. Had a hard time signing on and didn't get much work done as a result of it. I really needed internet. The building is tired and old, although it looks like they tried to […] keep it up, it just didn't do it for me. For other it may do just fine. The hotel also seemed to cater to Orientals because there were tour bus loads of them, not saying that's a bad thing but just an observation. The breakfast was left to be desired, Costco jugs of fluid sitting in ice and you had to pour your own. The selection of whatever they had there was very poor. I usually never give reviews but had to on this one. Unless your very budgeted, I'd find another place. Mehr

Filthy hotel

Its not a terrible place but is a very outdated hotel. It is very clear it has not been updated in 15 years. Better than a gross motel but no where near the level even a midlevel express hotel. You can tell at one time it was a very nice hotel but that was quite some time ago. The shower was terrible went from hot to cold on its own and the same with […] the heater. What my wife says: Smelly Room Stained Sofa Morning surprise - Gym room converted to a bedroom OK Breakfast What I say: At least we got a room for the night

I was traveling alone on business and when I told my wife what a good price I had reserved the room for she was worried I had made a mistake. Although she is usually right about these things I was able to proudly report back that I had definately made the right choice.

This hotel seems to be very old. A lot of asians stay here, they were loud in the mornings. Blankets had holes.

The Madison Suites Hotel was a great value for the price I paid and the room was excellent. While the exterior does not look like much, it is very well kept and the lobby inside is beautiful. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and the room itself was very clean. No complaints here, I will definitely be staying again!

I specifically asked for a room with 1 bed but none were available. The non-smoking room including the bed spread and pillows smelled like stale smoke. The batteries in the remote were dead. The staff was very kind and professional. They assisted me the best they could with the issues I had with my room.

Most customers were middle eastern, and at 2am, two patrons got into an argument in the hallway that continued most of the night but hotel management did nothing after several calls to front desk! No sleep util they stopped around 5am!
