Country Cascades - Pigeon Forge

The room was nice and clean. The hotel was centrally located and not a far ride to and from Dollywood. Only real complaint was some of the breakfast items weren't spectacular, but for the most part they hit the spot.

We added an additional day to our vacation and this worked out perfect. Our room was wonderful, the lady at the front desk was extremely nice and the breakfast was great. I have 2 kids under 10 and loved the indoor pool.

I'll start by saying the room was clean, or at least appeared so to the naked eye. The price wasn't bad either, but there are even better deals to be had in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. I just happened to have two free nights to use and you can only use them at certain places. The problem really was the service. That and the flattest pillows I ever had […] in a hotel, of which I've stayed in hundreds I think. It took 3-4 just to get my head up reasonably high. The mattresses were neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. The poor service came in various forms. First the tv remote didn't work. After some questioning over the phone, they came up to look at it and told me I wasn't pushing the buttons hard enough. Then after she tried it again, they determined the remote was faulty and promised to get me a new one. After several reminder calls later, they finally brought one up at bedtime. (We had stayed in most of the day due to not feeling well so it was a long wait). Then, out of the five vending machines I saw, either they were out of water, or they wouldn't accept quarters, which was all I had at the time. And for some reason, there were two refrigerators in the room, one of which didn't work. But no microwave. And no one at the desk at night. So imagine, being on the third floor, realizing there's no way to heat something up, going to the second floor to use the communal microwave, then down to the desk to inquire about a plastic utensil or converting quarters into dollars, then going up every floor until at last I got the last water from the last vending machine and finally back to my room. (I know it was the last one because I tried to get another one later and they were out.). And a pet peeve of mine is too thin curtains in a hotel so that the morning sun really came in brightly through them. And after the first night, I of course tried to move to a different hotel but hotels.com said they wouldn't/couldn't replace my welcome rewards points. Thanks again, hotels.com. Yo Mehr

I booked this hotel as a last minute stay over spring break/Easter weekend when there was nothing available. I had three kids with me ranging in age 9, 11, 13. The room was small, but since we were only there in the late evenings it worked out perfectly. The pool was fantastic and provided nightly entertainment as well as early morning fun. The hotel […] was close to everything that we wanted to do and set back from the main strip so it wasn't so loud as some of the other hotels can be that are along the strip. This hotel was great. The price was wonderful. Upon arriving, we were given a free unexpected gift of a leather planner/journal. Check-in was quick and easy. Room was exactly as expected. Pool was a little cold but tolerable. Breakfast was FANTASTIC. Definitely will stay here again.

We partly chose this hotel for its included breakfast. However, they simply could not accommodate the number of guests between 7-10am. The omelets looked delicious (custom made) but the line was a half hour long each day we were there (only one cook). Our room was tight with barely room to walk on one side of the king bed. That also made the heater/AC […] unit right next to the bed. Our safe was locked and we asked to have it unlocked--over three days it was not unlocked for us. Otherwise, we appreciated being off the main road backed up to a creek which our room overlooked. Next time we'll stay in Gatlinburg. Mehr

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was really nice for the price. The staff was very friendly and professional. I was very disappointed by the free breakfast though. The biscuits and gravy were cold, the gravy didn't have much flavor, and the omelets were decent. There were no meats except for the option to have ham in your omelet. I'm not trying to […] complain about a free breakfast, but people raving on here about the breakfast is what sold me on this place. When actually showing up for breakfast it was very cheap, and disappointing. That being said, the room was clean, the beds were comfy, and there was a nice LCD TV. The hotel was overall ok. We booked the Celebration Suite, but we were given the Presidential Suite. Our room was overall clean. The floors were a little "iffy". The room itself is dated but still nice. The hair dryer in our room was broken, but the staff quickly brought us another one to use. So overall it was a nice room. I would recommend it.

Our room was nice however we wanted a 2 bedroom suite which we did get but there were not any doors on the bedrooms. That was very disappointing. Otherwise the room was nice.

Hotel room was comfortable and beds were a big plus slept very well. Location is right in the middle of pigeon forge walking distance to rest.shops and amusements staff was very friendly i will def. stay again.

Bed was worn, shower/bathroom fixtures old (not very clean). Needs a good cleaning. Strange smells (not smoke) on 5th floor. Noisy refrigerator.

Good location, plenty of parking. The bed was good but the pillows were too soft, I did not ask if there were firmer pillows. I would stay here again even with the soft pillows but maybe next time I'll ask the front desk if there are any firm pillows.

This hotel was great! I will definitely stay again! The indoor pool and hot tub was a big plus, the kids loved it! Room was very clean and comfy. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was delicious!

This place was great, clean and convenient to all attractions. The breakfast was the hot ticket, this was by far the best hotel breakfast we've ever had!

My husaband and I enjoyed our stay at Pigeon Forge. I was very pleased with the hotel we stayed at. It has been the best hotel we have stayed at since we have been going to Pigeon Forge. I would recommend it to others. When we plan another trip I will call for reservations again at the Country Cascades.

Found the hotel fast and had a great sleep and a great breakfast for two days. Even when there were two buses the second day the service was great.

I'd say for families the hotel is a great value. We had to switch out of our first room upon checkin b/c it smelled funny. Second room smelled fine, only complaint was tv channels all came in grainy and the fan that was really high up was realllly dusty. Bathrooms were clean, room was clean other than fan. If you're looking to save money and bring a […] picnic lunch/dinner instead of eating out there is are some picnic benches by the creek behind the hotel. One side of the hotel has mountain views, other side is creek view (which is hard to really see from high up it's just a little creek) so I'd request mountain views if I stayed again. Breakfast is nice since we were on a budget, had some fresh fruit, cereals/oatmeals, soft biscuits and gravy, make your own waffles and an omelette station that was pretty good. :) Bed was pretty comfortable, for the price, I'd stay again :) Mehr

On arrival we had a quick check in, but the keycards didn't work for the assigned room. The staff quickly changed the room assignment to one next door. Problem solved. Everything else about our stay was great. The hotel is in a quiet area but close to attractions. Breakfast had hot and cold selections--very tasty! Enjoyed our stay there. Staff was cordial. The atmosphere was quiet. Our room was maintained in a clean manner. Non-smoking room, so no lingering smell of cigarette odor present. Located off the main strip. Would stay again on a return trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Conveniently located in the middle of the Pigeon Forge strip, right off the main road (<1/4 mi). Making it a great local for prime season when the road is gridlocked. No complaints about the room. Typical set up. Does have a mini-fridge and WiFi included. Also the continental breakfast included fresh waffles and made-to-order omlets

Positive: .the room was clean, the free breakfast was very good, there was ample parking, hotel was centrally located and the staff was friendly. Negative: after we (3 women) unpacked for our 4 night stay we had to move from our room because of a problem with the toilet. This required we re-pack all of our suitcases which was not only an aggravation […] it meant we lost more than an hour off of our day. We were very disappointed that no one offered to bring up a cart to assist with moving all of our stuff or offered us any kind of compensation for our inconvenience. I'd also mention that there were not enough luggage carts available causing a delay in getting our luggage to and from our room. Mehr

Very nice hotel -- great breakfast. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Pigeon Forge.

We enjoyed out stay. Everything was clean and everyone at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Probably will stay there again.

Nice hotel .. great location for downtown. There is a hot breakfast bar but not enough choices. They had someone making omelets along with biscuits and gravy.. some donuts, bagels, you make your own waffles.. no meat products. We ate one day and the rest we ate out of hotel. Housekeeping was fair. They didn't leave a trashbag in the trash cans a few […] days. There is never enough towels in a room. For us we use two each with the exception of not washing your hair. Hotel is buffered from Parkway noise since it is a blodk behind it. Conveniently located between traffic light 3 & 4. Dollywood is at 8 and Patriot Park where you can park to jump on the trolley is at 7. Staff balked at check-in when I requested a quiet room, stating that all the rooms were equally quiet. The staff-person then confirmed that we were […] not near elevator or stairway doors. I was awakened by ice-maker noise and the sound of neighboring room doors slamming, sometime between 6-8am each of 4 mornings. The wall-unit AC noise volume fluctuated through the night, also disturbing this "light sleeper." Fortunately, our room's frig seemed to be constantly running without interuption, serving as mild "white noise." Breakfast did include made-to-order omelettes cooked 2 at a time, by one staff person, which meant sometimes waiting in line for your turn. Bananas (often green) were availabe every morning and one day there was also applesauce. The rest of the breakfast fare was junky as would be expected in this area. There was raisin bran, fruit loops, cow's milk, doughnuts, biscuits, gravy, white bread and white bagels, Wal Mart packages of oatmeal and grits, orange drink, cranberry cocktail, waffles to cook yourself. Staff was helpful offering directions, change for the trolley and insider tips upon request. Room furnishings and linens were in good condition. Bathroom was less than optimally clean (for example, there was crud around toilet hinge area) but surfaces we used appeared clean enough. Window offered view of grassy area and creek out back. The hotel was situated nicely for the area I was visiting. The hotel staff was very friendly. The treadmill did not work, and wish hotels would keep up with this if they are going to advertise a fitness room! I felt like my room could of used more light other than the one on the nightstand. Overall the experience and hotel was nice.

I overall enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I will try to break down each part of the hotel and explain pros and cons to help make your decision an easy one! CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST: Delicious, warm and fast. The omelet's that are fresh made individual for each person has a line down the hallway each morning on the weekend, so don't plan on getting one unless […] you plan on waiting in line. Honestly, I didn't think they were all that good, the eggs had that fake egg taste. But the waffles and biscuits and gravy were wonderful. POOL: The indoor pool is large and very nice although it is heated the outdoor pool seemed warmer. The hot tub is small, fits about four and the outdoor pool is also a much smaller pool but was not busy during the day so still was nice to lay outside and enjoy the sunshine. I'm from Ohio so I'm not used to the smoke and since the outdoor pool area is smaller when any one person is smoking it feels as if you are smoking. HOTEL ROOM: Starting with the cleanliness, I felt that the room was clean, the only problem I had was the first morning the drain in the shower was slow to drain but it was like the maid fixed it during the day because the next day it was fine. The maids' would come in and replace the towels and take out the trash and my belongings felt safe. The staff there was all very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I actually ended up sick the last night and spent the last day in bed and I was glad that it was a comfortable bed! EXERCISE ROOM: Do not plan to go to this hotel for the exercise room. It consists of an exercise bike and a treadmill in a very small room. Luckily, we decided to forgo our diets and exercise plans and decided not to use the room. Although it looked as if no one else did the whole time we were there either. INTERNET ACCESS: My computer worked fine the whole time I was there, which was good. Was extremely surprised at how nice this hotel was. I would definitely recommend it as it was an excellent value.
