Econo Lodge - Harrisburg

A few reasons why this hotel experience was a bad one. 1) Fitness center was unavailable due to "remodel" 2) The security latch somehow locked into place when I left my room, so the desk person had to break it in order for me to get back in. Seeing how easy it was to break it made me feel a bit unsettled. 3) There was no printer for me to use to print […] my boarding pass. They sent me 4 miles away to a fed ex to do it. 4) The free breakfast was not as good as the other econolodge that I stayed in. Mehr

The entire hotel smelled like stain or varnishdue to remodeling. Could not access internet from lobby.

This was a fantastic stay. The first thing I enjoyed was the friendliness and quality of the hotel staff. I was in a rush to check in and they were more than accommodating. I felt for the price I got much more than my money's worth. My only qualm was that there was no vending machine for snacks or drinks. There were some for sale from the staff but […] nothing available for something in the middle of the night. Other than that very, very enjoyable stay and I would go back to this hotel in a second. Small, but clean and great bed. Excellent location and off street parking. Would stay again without reservations.

Room was not very clean. Large dead bugs in the shower light. Walls are very thin and could hear everyone. Not a good experience.

The hotel room was clean and well stocked. It was small, but I expected that. Everything was very clean and the bed was good. No problems.

The hotel was nice, the people were nice, the breakfast was good...all for under $60. Not a 5-star Ritz, but for a good clean place to stay as you're passing through it worked out great for us.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to Hershey Park and it fit our budget. The staff was great and very accomodating, HOWEVER, my only suggestion would be - if possible, REQUEST A ROOM ON THE TOP FLOOR!!! Our first nite - a family arrived at 1:30 in the morning and the kids were jumping up and down on the beds, second nite - an individual who […] was heavy footed kept us up most of the nite and awoke very early walking just as hard (not sure if he was heavy or in a hurry). For the price of the hotel, location from Hershey Park was good.

It is an ok place to sleep. We spent most of the time in hershey park and would come back to sleep. It fits that purpose. The price was right since I was on a tight budget. There is no swiming pool or fitness room available. There is a strong cigarette odor in main hall at entrance. However, room was clean and comfortable. Location is convenient and […] close to attractions. It is also close to main highways. I would probably stay again. As I mentioned before, it depends on what you are looking for. If you are on a budget, this hotel is ok. If you are looking for some amenities to be included, then you have to look somewhere else and be willing to pay a higher rate per day. Mehr

I found the hotel to be at a great location. The check in and check out experience was great. Very nice.

Very surprising--well worth the reasonable price. Far better than anticipated.

As most of the prior reviewers said, if all you need is a stop on the highway at a reasonable price, this is ok. The pillows were like little rocks, though. The internet in the lobby didn't have a printer. But, it was very clean. Just don't expect more than a quick stop enroute to somewhere else.

The price is reasonable, but the carpet was sticky, there were hairs in the bed sheet, the pillows smelled, there was melted candle on the bed, the front desk guy was talking on the phone. I won't recommend at all.

I was lucky enough to be on the floor with a ton of kids who were making noises late at night. Plus, I thought I had made a reservation for a room with 2 beds and found that it only had one small bed for my little son and I to sleep in with no available cots and no other rooms available that had 2 beds. Complimentary breakfast was good, though.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic! They went above and beyond for me. I was in town for a wedding, and had decided to come into town the day before in an effort to avoid rushing around. The hotel I was booked in for the wedding did not have a room available for the day I arrived, so I stayed at the Econo Lodge. I found out that the hotel I was supposed […] to go to would not be able to give me the early check-in they had promised, which would make it impossible to get ready for the wedding in time. I talked to SJ at the front desk of the Econo Lodge and he was able to book me into a different room there for the day/night of the wedding. I left my bags with Meenu at the front desk that morning, and by the time I got back from breakfast at 12, the new room was ready for me to check into, giving me plenty of time to get ready for the wedding. SJ and Meenu made sure that as soon as the room was ready, it was cleaned and ready for me. Their customer service was excellent! The rooms were comfortable and clean. Nothing hugely special, but a decent place to rest your head for a night.

My wife and I just stayed there on a trip to OBX. It was a nice stopping point. We were looking for just a place to lay our heads that didnt cost a lot. It was about what i expected and would stay there again. For the price of this hotel it was very clean and updated. i was impressed. I will definitely sty again.

Well, it was cheap. The entrance is a little confusing to find because the hotel is basically behind a gas station. But it's right off the highway and just up the road from Hershey Park. Plenty of parking. Check-in was extremely easy. Overall, the service from the staff was always very friendly, always very helpful, and always very quick. The free breakfast […] left much to be desired, but did the trick. The only real drawback of our stay was the room. It was by far the smallest room I have every stayed in. It seemed clean enough I guess, but the shower floor seemed a little gross so I put a towel down. Also there were suspicious stains on the blanket and comforter. Sheets were clean and there was no smell. So overall the hotel is passable and if price is the most important factor, I say go for it. For me, if I were to do it again, I'd pay a few more dollars and try my luck somewhere else. Mehr

We have been attending a company promotion in Hershy Park the last 2 yrs and hope to do it again for yrs to come. We like to stay over night to avoid driving before and after our very tiresome but enjoyable day. We really don't need a lot of "frills" at the hotel since we're not there most of the time. This hotel was quite pleasant and much nicer than […] where we stayed last year (where they hiked the prices up so we didn't go back).The breakfast was awesome and a great start on fun day. We stayed 1 night. We reserved 2 adjoining rooms and when we arrived they did not have one. A room they said had 2 double beds, had 1. Service not great but it was clean. Bed was not very comfortable - a bit hard for me. I go to Hershey every fall for a car show and may consider this place. Not many restaurants nearby.

The good: Nice enough hotel in terms of room size & amenities (fridge, micro, hair-dryer), staff, & convenience. Pet-friendly. Extremely cost-efficient given its proximity to Hershey Park. Safe in room is small but secure & welcome. The bad: Nearby highway is very audible if you stay on one side of the hotel (maybe both?). Bring a white-noise-maker […] or leave the tv on if this is a bother to you. Also, beds were, to quote my gf, "unforgiving." If you have a sensitive nose, you may object to the mild but present odor in the hallway, and to a lesser extent, in the room (faint must & smoke). Mattresses were on the overly firm side. Some maintenance isssues (fan in bathroom didn't work, some lightbulbs were out, window was not in great repair - duct tape on frame, and not great at filtering out exterior noise). Fitness room is pretty sparse, too. Overall, for a low price, pet-friendliness, and great location, this hotel is a bargain. But if you are picky about noise levels, hotel-style odors (although much fainter here than many places!), or if you want a soft mattress, this will not be your favorite stay. Mehr

Overall a good stay. I wish I had known they had a highway not to far away. If I stay again I will be sure to ask for a room on the NON highway side.

This was our first experience with Econo Lodge and it was satisfying in every way possible. This is gem of a hotel that has much to offer; like free and ample parking, excellent complimentary breakfast and great location to the Hershey Park and other points of interest.
