Comfortable, central,and the added bonus of an extra show in the Banquet Room.

Many parts of hotel need maintenance and to be painted specially corridors and swimming pool in addition, pool is too small and the Jacuzzi was not working properly. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel don’t choose it. However the location and surrounding neighbourhood were great.

The hotel's pretty old and the entrance and lobby were looking pretty tired, but the room was pretty good. The only negatives were that the TV in my room didn't work and I had to pay for a locker to leave my luggage before I could check in. nice room, in a historic hotel in melbourne. Got two bottles of fresh milk as we checkedin and that was rather nice and unexpected. area is very interestign wwith many unique shops.

The room became stuffy and when air conditioner was turn on is was noisy.

It is difficult to rate this hotel as it seems to be in the middle of renovations. Our room was okay and clean, the corridors were very grubby and the carpets were loose on the floor making the pushing of a 4 wheeler suitcase very difficult. We had to take a lift from ground floor to floor 4 then transfer via a maze of corridors to another set of lifts […] from floor 4 to floor 8. We only stayed one night. We left our luggage after check out. There is a room full of lockers, each will take one suitcase and the charge is $5 for 6 hours. Mehr

This wonderful hotel in perfectly situated in centre of melbourne staff wonderful, rooms large and spacious, would easily stay there again.

A lot of work has been done on this hotel in recent years and the results are excellent. Within walking distance to the MCG it suited perfectly for a quick trip to the cricket.

What we were told by hotels.com was nothing like what we were supposed to get. Everything from checking in - mind you in my wedding dress to checking out... terrible

Our stay was very enjoyable at The Hotel. Room was nice clean and quite comfortable. Although it was a little hard to find, and the buffet breakfast was quite good however I do not have a problem with$17.00 price tag however everything that the kids and I had was cold from the bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausages. the hotel was comfortable, clean and nice, Service was good ,quick to chwck in and out. Close to public transport and shopping.

my daughter and I arrived to find a mistake had been made with our booking. That in itself is no drama .... the treatment of the hotel staff however was another matter. They refused to fix it unless we paid the difference of the room booked on line to the room they had for us ...a difference of 60 dollars. We travel all over the world and we have never […] found a manager so unwilling to helpfully fix our problem. `the customer is always right?` ...definately NOT here.... to add insult to injury when we were checking out they tried to charge us 32.00 for parking....?? We did not have a car !!!! and had not booked parking. so this hotel requires you to ignore 2 things usually taken for granted ....friendly helpful staff, a manager who will always `fix` your problem , ...oh and be careful which rooms you book as many are smoke filled and dirty and old and not renovated. The other reviews were spot on here. The Victoria Hotel is showing its' age. We were in the newly rennovated section in a quiet room. The rooms are TINY, you can lay on the bed and nearly touch the bathroom door. The room was quiet and tucked in the corner, and it was clean, which was nice. However, after a week in this tiny space, I was ready for some […] breathing room. What you can't beat is the location. It is within walking distance of everything and located near cute shops, restaurants, etc. The reviews didn't lie when they said this was the main selling point of the hotel. You really can't go wrong if you want to stay smack dab in the middle of all the action. Fantastic location and that is hard to get at this price range in Melbourne. So, in sum, if you plan on spending much time in the room, I would go for another hotel, but if you are out and about, this will work just fine for the money. Just don't expect any bells and wistles whatsoever. For the locaiton alone, I'd recommend the hotel again but with the warning that the rooms are exactly what you'd expect for those on a budget. clean, comfortable hotel in a great location for the hype called Melbourne. Staff were friendly enough however reported issues with the airconditioning fell on deaf ears. While our stay was only short we found the staff and room at the hotel great. The location gave us access to all the shops restaurants and transport .We would recommend it for all the above and value.

Right in the heart of melbourne's CBD so no need to take the car at all. Tram 200 mts down the street, cafes, restaurants, shopping all within a few blocks. Easy to walk to MCG, galleries Federation Square, movies. rooms facing Little Collins Street a bit noisy on a Friday and Saturday night but otherwise quiet and cosy. The only downside is the car […] park which is 3 doors up the street from the hotel and only staffed by one person. You leave your car and keys and he parks and retrieves on morning of departure. Collection can be a bit time consuming as all guests arrive pretty much the same time and you need to be patient for him to find your car and bring it down. Mehr

I have stayed at Victoria Hotel many times- but not for 20 years, at that time there was a consierge with top hat and tails!!! Still the great service and with the introduction of airconditioning and modern lifts, a modern hotel in a great location. Mary-Anne F. Brisbane Australia

I appreciate that the room is located in an area of the hotel that is being/has been renovated but I found that the room was far removed from the normal hotel entrance and required quite some circuitous walking distance to find the room (6124) and lift access was not available. A great location. Friendly, functional and a little bit funky. Good value for money. Particularly liked the spacious room.

It's an old building (creaking floorboards etc) but it's in reasonable condition and fairly clean. The temperature control in the room has been bypassed and the room temperature is 18 deg C whatever temp you select. It's a bit cold if you are trying to work in the room or sitting watching TV. Lovely comfortable, refurbished room. Very comfortable bed. The bathroom was great. A very enjoyable experience.

The location of the Victoria Hotel was ideal and the lack of room service was irrelevant due to the numerous surrounding cafes. However the parking attendant was rude, hotel staff were unwelcoming and staff in general were less than prompt in dealing with maintenace issues. The Victoria Hotel while it has a grand name and is convenient to public transport is a mouldy back street faded beauty the mould in bathroom broken tiles and noisy air-conditioning is not something I expected in what has been a good hotel being run into the ground by noisy lift motors and old blankets on the bed leave a lot to be desired broken tiles […] in pool when it was time to close the pool we had just got in and a surly security guy walked in and just stared we are a middle aged couple I would not stay there again ever under any circumstances Mehr

One of the staff was very bad attitude and unhelpful to help me to change the pick up time from 9am to 830 am of shuttle bus on Feb 14 morning at front office, who is Chinese and wear a glasses, her name's Txxxx, not too old and short. Anyway, another stuff were good.

Great location within walking distance of many venues easy access to public transport. Would recommend to all.

Verypleasant front desk staff..BUT, clearly more training is needed for the MANAGEMENT COMPANY..I extended reservation by one day..and had to go down to front desk and REGISTER for that day...while they had my credit card, etc...silly bother...! The STAFF were apologetic, but they had their "rules"..! Second MAJOR […] issue was that I have a CPAP breathing machine to use while sleeping. There was ONLY ONE POWER POINT in the room that was accessible to the bed...and the telephone was plugged into that. So, had to UNPLUG phone at night to hook up machine.. The victoria hotel was a great place for our holiday as it was right in the city and close to everything that we had planned to do. The staff were helpful every time we needed anything. to put it simply great rates, friendly staff and great location.

This hotel is very central and has great ambiance. The room was a little smaller than one would expect, but the rate was great. Pity my room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke.

The hotel is idealy situated, close to the metro shop for tram/train/bus tickets, the national gallery of vic, fed square and bourke street mall as long as other tourist/shopping areas. There has been a few changes since my last visit, bigger reception with more operators, but was a little surprised to see that the porter service was not available and […] had to pay for a locker on checkout before going to airport, also the sky bus now does not stop outside the hotel which was a big bonus for me previously rather than pulling luggage around the streets. Väl tilltaget rum men som verkligen sett sina bästa dagar! Dörren till duschrummet ramlade ner när den öppnades!! Stopp i avloppet till handfatet. Kylskåp ur funktion. Toalettspolningen bara halvt fungerande. Välj ett annat hotel!

Perfekt läge, trevlig och tjänstvillig personal. Thairestaurangen som hörde till, frukost serverades där höll tyvärr inte alls samma standard som själva hotellet.

ロケーションといい、料金といい、メルボルンの中ではかなりコストパフォーマンスの良いホテルだと思います。
