"Mediocre service with unnecessary complications"
Booked this on Hotels.com. Specifically asked about shuttle arrangements from the airport and was told to "call when I arrived". Naturally, when I called from the airport, Ramada told me I needed to make a shuttle reservation 24 hours in advance... really?? Took the cab to the hotel, only to find out that both shuttles (yes, they have 2 vehicles) were […] sitting in front. Pretty dismal customer service, especially for 4 people we had. I have to say the mattress we slept on was probably better then the one i have at home! Great room, quiet, and close to many restaurants and a short drive to down town. "Smelled of bug spray, toilet ran constantly"
Room smelled of strong, recent bug spray. Figured that was better than bed bugs. Also, the toilet ran constantly. I spoke to the desk clerk who said it would be taken care of, but it wasn't. "This hotel is tired"
The entire property is tired. I have stayed in much better, more modern and less "used" for the same price or less, often. The parking lot is tight and sketchy at best. The comforter was so lumpy it was essentially a sheet. The walls were so thin, I could hear the guy next door brushing his teeth. There were only 3 plugs in the room and all occupied. […] The layout is strange as well. It is almost two buildings and the signs for the room numbers near the lobby don't reflect the rooms at the other end of the property. Lugged my stuff up the stairs (the elevators are at the other end of the property from the lobby...), couldn't find a sign with my room number, went all the way back down for the front desk attendant to tell me where it was like I was an idiot. "Close to downtown, close to ski resort freeway"
I would rate the room good for the price. The free breakfast was better than some, as good as most... Hotel has a small but sufficient exercise room. We did not try the pool/spa. "NEVER AGAIN!"
Paid a five star price for a VERY 'low-quality room'. The couch in our suite needed a steam cleaner treament. The furniture was out of date and arranged in a way that didn't make any sense. We had to move our microwave and coffee pot across the room, in order to utilize the plug-in's; otherwise we would have had to unplug the tv, fridge or lamps. Our […] suite was located right above the entrance down stairs. All throughout the night we were woken up with people coming and going because the door was heavy and loud, and the stair case echoed every foot step. Other than the arms of the couch being dirty, the room was very clean...that is the only reason we stayed. Breakfast wasn't very impressive. They should have included either a fresh or hot selection. The next night we stayed at a hotel a few miles north, #Howard Johnson#. "Quite disappointing"
We called early in the day when we were due to check in to request a nonsmoking room with two queen beds. When we arrived they gave us a room which had been a smoking room previously and it really didn't smell good. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available with two queens. In our room, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and was patched […] in some places, the comforters were really lumpy (laundered incorrectly? Poor quality to begin with?). The furniture was dated particle board. The carpet had stains. The pool was dirty - brown streaks across the bottom and serious grime on the upper walls of the pool just above the water line. The hot tub had lots of debris in the bottom of it (maybe the cement on the floor was crumbling?). On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, the staff members were very nice and the breakfast was plentiful with a fair amount of variety. It looked like they were doing some remodeling. Maybe things will be better! I've stayed in many 2 and 2.5 star hotels. I'd say this is a 1.5 star hotel at the most. MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

We have many plans looking to the present and future projects. Within just these last 2 weeks we have installed new carpet in our lobby area. Also replaced carpet in 2 of our former smoking rooms. On the whole I feel we do offer a great location, many amenities and service that make for a great value. A Great expanded continental breakfast with hot waffles - we've just added boiled eggs and gluten free bread too! The indoor pool/spa are great, especially going into the ski season. You mention some issues in that area, I've spoken with our maintenance techs and asked them to take some additional time and really go through the area and ensure it is looking the best that we can. We have free shuttle service that is based on availability from 7a-10p that we request 24hr advance reservation for. Small fitness room and free wi-fi. So I hope that these aspects appeal to you and that you would be willing to stop by and give us another chance to earn your business.

You mention staying at a hotel closer to downtown, I feel our location is in many respects better than some of the downtown locations. We're just 3-4 miles south of downtown proper. Much better priced. Away from too much of the traffic and congestion. An easy 15 minutes from the airport (and free shuttle - restrictions apply). Just East of us about 25 minutes is Park City, great for skiiers and also home of the Sundance Film Festival. South of us are many commercial attractions, Scheels, Cabela's, Thanksgiving Point with one of the world's largest dinosaur museums, IMAX theater, and Gardens. Furthermore, there is many developments right close to our area that are coming together and will be making our location even more appealing. Just north of us a streetcar is being placed going East/West from the light rail TRAX station into the Sugarhouse shopping area. We're working to make many strides and improvements to meet our goal of having every guest that stays with us want to return again and again. We hope you will too.

The hotel said it had been recently remodeled but that did not seem to be true at all. The tile was cracked, paint was chipped, and the carpet was stained. "Barely Adequate"
There was one sheet and a thin blanket on the bed. The pillows were very lumpy. The air conditioning didn't work, and the sink was clogged. I'd like to address each of your issues that everyone can know our product. The bedding: We provide a "three sheet" bedding method. The bed has a fitted sheet, flat sheet, blanket or comforter, and a pin stripe top sheet. We are more than happy to provide additional blankets if they are needed. Pillows: we provide 4 pillows for our Queen beds and 6 pillows for our King beds. Maintenance Issues - A/C, sink drain: these issues can surface, We have PM (preventative maintenance) schedule of checking our rooms throughout the year, I'm sorry these items can come up at times between our inspections. Please at any time, if you are unhappy with the facilities, let us know at the front desk. Again we WANT you to have an enjoyable stay and hope that our accommodations meet your travelling needs

We have a long standing staff that works hard to keep our hotel inviting and comfortable for all of our guests. Our internal survey system that proactively requests feedback from our customers is currently at 8.05 for "cleanliness of guest room" and 8.12 for "cleanliness of bathroom" (as of 10/25/12). This is on a 10 point scale, and of course we actively try and improve on a daily basis, but an 8 out of 10 is fairly high marks. If you have additional specific information about your stay, I encourage you to contact us that we can hopefully address any issues you may have.

The only reason you should stay at this hotel is out of sheer necessity. The television remote control didn't work properly. They told me it was a non-smoking room but when I first entered the room it was as though I had walked into an ash tray of old cigars. I had to get a can of air freshener to atleast get through the night. While checking out I noticed a sign that said they had just recently become a non smoking hotel. It can be a process in having these rooms turned to non-smoking.. We've shampooed carpets, replaced carpets in some, replaced drapes, and more. We use an ionizer that can replace the "smoking air" with new air that has been effective. Know that we care about your concerns and work towards getting them resolved.

The staff was friendly and helpful, but that was the only upside to our stay.our room smelled so awful we went to a store for air fresheners even after opening the windows trying to air out the room for several hours. "Bed bugs"
A huge feeling and need for scratching my head awoke me at around 2:15 am and could not go back to sleep for another 2 hours due to this. At around 3 am, I called the reception and told them what had happened insisting that they should check the pillows and bed in the morning because I think they might have a bed bugs problem. All I heard from the reception […] was that "it is weird because we have never experienced this problem before on any room" (obviously they will not confess if they did have a bed bugs problem before). The overall cleanliness looked decent, but I think this hotel is a 2 star at best, not a 2.5 or 3 star. I will definitely not go back to this hotel due to what I experienced. "Not what I thought it would be."
When I saw the price for the hotel, I was pleased. But the location of the hotel was not great, neither was the actually hotel itself. It just had a very cheap, dirty feel to it. I did not feel safe or comfortable here. The staff member assisting us had trouble checking us in and checking us out, and had to call other people to help figure out what […] to do. We had wanted to swim and sit in the hot tub, but the pool smelled so strongly of chlorine that I didn't want to get it. The hot tub was lukewarm and looked extremely dirty. "Good Option for SLC When Attending Events"
Stayed at Ramada Limited SLC in August for 2011 Outdoor Retailer Show. OR Show was dowtown at Salt Palace Convention Center. Straight shot down State Street and over for easy access to show. Much better rates here than downtown hotels and 10-minute drive was no problem. Hotel in decent shape. Front desk staff friendly and capable. Tasty complimentary […] continental breakfast with plenty of options. Heard some traffic noise, as our room was next to highway. Will request other side of building in future. We were very disappointed in the service. The room was clean and in a good location (right next to interstate and we were traveling thru). About 5:30 a.m. the people above us were running water and it started coming up the drain of our bathroom sink and flooded the bathroom. We called the front desk to report the problem and they told us to just throw […] towels on the floor to absorb it. They only had 1 person at the front desk and couldn't leave to see if they could resolve the flood. When we checked out at 6:05 there were two women at the front desk and when we had called we talked to a man. Also the TV would not switch channels - we were stuck on TV Land - good thing we were just wanting to sleep there! It's hard to believe that expedia gave the customer rating of a 4. This hotel was dated and in need of a huge remodel. The neighborhhood was not in a good part of town, but convenient to the sugarhouse area which is why I choose it. Even the lower price was too much to pay for this place.
