Super 8 Motel - Hancock, Md - Hancock

It was an older, tired motel. The hall smelled of cat urine. The first room they put us in had a non-functioning heater and it was a cold night. The outside line on the telephone didn't work. The next night they moved us to a different room - the one for people with disabilities, as all other rooms were booked. The room was clean, the heater was functional, […] and the staff was pleasant and apologetic for the inconvenience, but I won't stay there again. As we go to the area every year for a week long event, I had booked ahead for four days. I wouldn't recommend the hotel for anyone other than as a last resort for an overnight stay. It is not the fault of the staff, but the age and the condition of the building. Mehr

staff was very nice and helpfull would be nice if they had a pool and hot tubs

DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY!! Breakfast was awful, rooms had cock roach traps under the toilet. Front desk girl was so very rude.

When we walked into the room the bed was visibly tilting to one side. It was extremely uncomfortable and looking back I wish we had requested a different room. The entire floor reeked of cigarette smoke even though we were in a non-smoking room. There was some sort of bug trap under the counter. I placed my contact case and necklace on the bathroom […] counter before going to bed and when I awoke there was feces (insect or animal, not sure which) right by the case. YUCK! Mehr

We stayed at the Super 8 in Hancock while driving from the East Coast to the Ohio. This was a warm, clean place to stop for the night and is convenient to Routes 68/70 (you can see the sign from the highway but it's a little hard to figure out how to get to it so make sure you have good directions — if you see the Pizza Hut and the Sheetz you're there!). […] Free wireless internet was a nice perk for a inexpensive hotel. If you're looking for something upscale well you shouldn't be staying at a Super 8! But if you want a good place to rest your head after a day on the road I highly recommend :-) Mehr

Room was damp and smelled. We arrived after making Internet reservation too late to search for another motel. Some Motel 8s are good but be careful with this location.

room was not vey clean, had to get manager to room due to 4 inch stain on bed clothes - he just said, "maids fault", give it a miss

We were just passing through and when we book our flight online they did not have our itinerary online. The women at the desk did not speak very good english and she wanted to take my credit card and charge us again and try to say the manager will take care of it tomorrow morning. We went to our room and the motel smelled really bad like it had just […] flooded or mold. The halls were very dirty. The room was ok! The next morning she was still there and she tried to say the manager would not be there for another half hour, therefore, she could not give me anything that showed a zero balance. I did not except this and asked her (acually a young man - her son possibly) to give me a written paper saying we did not owe anything. We would not stay here again and possibly any Super 8 because of this experience. Mehr
