Das Hotel ist in New Carrollton (Maryland ). Die Umgebung besteht aus Supermärkten und Schnellrestaurants.Das Hotel hat einen eigenen Shuttelservice zur Metro .Die Hinfahrt nach Fahrplan ,die Rückfahrt nach ansage.Das Frühstück ist wie überall in Amerika nicht sehr reichhaltig ,aber man wird satt. So das übliche Essen.Kaffee Tee Toast MIlch Cornflex Rührei Butter Marmelade .Die Zimmer sind sauber und sehr geräumig

Hotelzimmer sing großzügig mit eingebauter Kitchenette - alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt - das Frühstückbüffet (complimentray) ist reichhaltig und sehr gut - die Hotelpersonal ist hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend - das Hotelshuttle kann für Transfers zu nahegelegenen Zielen kostenlos genutzt werden - nächstgelegene Metro-Station: Vienna (orange) kann mit Taxi erreicht werden - wenn mit Auto unterwegs, ist Lage / Pries-Leistungsverhältnis des Hotels sehr gut.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Jeffersson Highway, sehr einfach zu finden, wenn man mit dem Mietwagen unterwegs ist. Der Service am CheckIn/Checkout ist nicht gerade umwerfend oder freundlich. Die Mitarbeiter waren genervt und recht ungeduldig. Das Doppel-Zimmer war ein Städte-Trip-Traum: groß, sehr sauber, das Sleep-Number-Bett (man kann den Härtegrad der Matratze individuell einstellen) in Kingsize war sehr bequem - gute Schlaf garantiert! in ca. 3 min ist man an der Metro-Station "Crystal City" (unter dem Marriott Hotel). Die Station hat eine Einkaufspassage. Das Ticketsystem der Metro ist leider etwas kompliziert - am besten vorher mal online reinschauen! Die Fahrt in die City zum weißen Haus und dem Memorial Park dauert ca. 20 min. Für einen Städtetrip in die City ist das Hotel absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Washington Monument teilt die National Mall südlich des Weißen Hauses in zwei Teile. In den Hauptsitzen der Bundesbehörden arbeiten Bürokraten aller Couleur. Machtvolle, mit Geld gesegnete Lobbyisten helfen in der K Street bei der Schaffung (und Verwerfung) von Gesetzen. Chinatown und das Washington Convention Center liegen östlich der Innenstadt.

The Hay-Adams Hotel is an outstanding hotel and the only place to stay if you are visiting Washington, D.C. and want a 5-star hotel. It is directly across from the White House and therefore in a perfect location to visit the National Mall, monuments, museums etc. as well as being close to Georgetown. The rooms are absolutely lovely with high ceilings, original molding (ours had a large bay window as well), the beds and bed linens are in natural tones and are so lush and luscious it is hard to get out of bed to go sightseeing! The service is incomparable. I had a formal dinner to go to on Saturday night, discovered that I needed some emergency tailoring on my gown and the concierge got a tailor to come to my room, pick up my dress, and had it ready for me 3 hours later! It was just amazing. And after your weekend or stay- don't miss the Sunday champagne brunch, which is outstanding. I travel all over the world for my work and the Hay-Adams Hotel is my very favorite hotel in the U.S. Mehr

A one night pampering and preparation before a conference stay at the Omni Shoreham at Woodley Park, which I also recommend, was just what I needed. Well worth the extra expense. Five Stars!
"Outstanding Service"
The hotel was conveniently located. The service was the the highlight of the hotel. The bar resturant had great drinks and tasty food. The breakfast menu was extremely expensive and not worth the money. This is not a child friendly hotel and they do not offer a child's menu. Parking is $45 a day.

This was my second time staying at the Hay-Adams and I remembered it as a refined old hotel in the perfect location, across from the White House. Despite one glitch, that our room was not ready at 4:00 check in time which was a little inconvenient since we had 6:00 dinner reservations, it remains a very nice hotel. Hotel and room were very nice, but room was a little on the small side, and overlooked a "central courtyard" (for mechanical equipment, etc.), which provided light but not much of a view. Staff were freiendly and extremely helpful.

room was very, very cold when we got in and it took us 2 follow-up calls for someone to come up. I wouldn't have minded but my older parents were with me so they were uncomfortable. I wanted to treat my parents to a nice and historical hotel such as The Willard but I was disappointed. The restaurant on the premise Cafe du Parc was not impressive either. I love the Hay Adams. Makes you feel like you are in a special place - and then when you walk out the door and see the White House, you know it's true! And there is decent coffee up the streeet!
"Hotel is close to all the Washington DC areas"
The hotel location and service is excellent. The only complaint I have is with the noise level. A large trash ben was emptied everyday outside the rooms on the alley side. The 1st morning was 5:30AM and felt like an earthquake.

The hotel room was for our daughter and her new husband after their wedding. The Hay-Adams did everything humanly possible to make them feel like special and treasured guests.

While we were able to stay free as our reward night from Hotels.com, it is truely a lovely hotel. Yes you expect to tip the staff as ytu would at any 4-5 star hotel. The only disappointment was that the restaurant was not open for dinner and it was a saturday night. Not sure f this is normal (which appears to be the case) or if it was becuse of a large […] wedding reception that night. But there are plenty of fine restaurants in DC to pick from so not really a problem. Mehr

"Showing her age!"
Due to the age of the hotel construction, the floors squeak when walking on them. Whenever the occupant of the room directly above ours would walk around at night, the noise (squeaks) would wake us from our sleep. the bathroom would not accommodate two persons at the same time. I can't say enough good things about our experience at the Hay Adams. I have never experienced this combination of excellent customer service and beautiful surroundings; Hay Adams is like staying at the Plaza, only with a smaller facility (I consider this a plus) and without the snobbery that often comes with the high-end service at the Plaza (another […] plus, obviously). I loved this hotel! The staff and rooms were elegant and beautiful. Nothing was missed! I could move in there tomorrow and be happy forever! The view of the White house is AMAZING~~ and if your room doesn't look out to it - they will arrange for you to go up on the roof and take pictures! the staff is as friendly as can be and very accommodating! […] The concierge is a true Concierge - they handle everything for you! We were lucky enough to stay in the room that was Sasha and Melia's room while they stayed there - My kids were uber impressed to sleep in the same bed as them. The only thing i didn't like about the hotel was that the lobby smelled like dog pee? There are a lot of guests with dogs - as a dog owner myself I can totally appreciate that. Loved the location of the hotel. White House was just across Lafayette Park from the hotel. The Concierge Service was the best. Got us great tickets for the Lincoln Center and information on touring the Capitol. All the staff was friendly, professional and did whatever they could to make our stay memorable. Des bouteilles […] d'eau bien fraiches et serviettes vous sont proposées tous les matins avant vos départs en visites et à votre arrivée de très bons raffraichissements et cookies à disposition.... Muy cómodo, servicio muy bueno con mucha atención, el punto negativo - servicio en el restaurante en desayuno bastante lento. Pensamos que habíamos reservado habitación con vista al patio interior pero nos dieron habitación exterior con vistas de edificio al lado. De todas maneras volveremos.

"Top comfort, warm welcome, superb location"
We couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotel in Washington. The hotel is ideally situated across the park from the White House with superb views over the complex from the top floors. Every member of staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable with some nice extra touches such as fresh cookies […] and smoothies for the kids' nightcap.
