Hampton Inn New Orleans - Downtown - New Orleans

Great location-next to street car, French Quarters just two block away. Our room was very small and without a view other than a brick wall five feet away and several stories high. This made the room very dark even with the few lights on. The guest services and morning breakfast was great.

A block and a half from Bourbon Street. Close to trolly stops. Short trolly ride to Harrahs casino and the Audobon Aquarium. The Superdome and New Orleans arena are less than a half mile away. Upper floors are quiet with no street noise.

The hotel and staff were very nice and conveniently located, but the included breakfast was not very good if you want more than cereal.

My stay was a comfortable one. All was delightful, all except breakfest. The eggs were not real or at least it taste that way. All in all I would recommend the hotel to anyone trying to find a new place to stay while in the french market area. Its pretty much in the middle of it all, go North, South, East, and West and there is something to do, see, […] eat, explore. Enjoy!! Mehr

Went for Monday night football/Christmas. Two blocks from the French quarter. 7-8 blocks from the Superdome. Security was not a concern. All within walking distance. 10-buck cab ride to the museums. The locals, and especially the hotel staff, were fantastic! Note: this is a business hotel (no pool, etc.) Valet parking is steep (unlimited in-and-outs) […] which we didn't use. Hampton Inn was near all the sights & places we wanted to visit, they were very accommodating & helpful. Went above and beyond to make our stay a great one.

Close to French Quarter and street car stop. Nice hotel but some mold in room (older building in a hot humid climate, so understandable). Didn't like spending $30 a night for parking (valet). Good breakfast. Decent fitness room.

Great location, just minutes walking to the French Quarter, the Waterfront and Warehouse arts district. Nice staff and great hot buffet breakfast each morning. The hotel is clean and quiet, but rugs and bathroom fixtures are a bit worn looking. Hotel exceeded all expectations. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Great experience for a great price.

Great hotel, highly recommend. Bed was a little hard and lumpy, but otherwise great stay. Hotel staff was awesome!!

The hotel was very nice and the room was large. It was supposed to be non-smoking but there was an ashtray and a faint lingering scent of tobacco smoke on the coverlet. I would stay again because of the location,within walking distance to the french quarters and riverwalk.

This would have been the perfect place had we been visiting the French Quater. However we were looking for something closer to the Arena. Trying to get to the valet was a nightmare and took 1/2 an hour of circling to stop in front of the hotel. That being said, our room was ready at 3:00 and not a minute before. It was spacious, which is not common […] in New Orleans, clean, and very comfortable. I would most definetly stay there again if we were planning a trip to the Quater. Mehr

I CHOSE THIS HOTEL FOR PROXIMITY TO ARENA. IT WAS ABOUT A 7 MINUTE WALK WHICH WAS GOOD. STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. ROOM WAS ADEQUATE IN SIZE. BATHROOM WAS SMALL AND I WISH I HAD SHOWER SHOES, BUT THE WORST PART WAS MAKE-UP ON THE SHEETS! WOW THAT IS NASTY!

This hotel was in a great location, and the staff was very friendly.

The hotel is centrally located, easy to access transportation. Hotel very clean, comfortable with helpful staff. A great breakfast and fresh cookies in the afternoon. Great value for the $...would definitely book again.

Very happy with the property. Very good staff. Breakfast hours are very generous. Spacious bedroom area. Bathrooms a little small. Very good air conditioning.

The hotel itself feels a little run down, and our party woke each morning feeling stuffed up and congested, which always cleared up when we left the hotel. The room was clean enough. The complimentary breakfast was terrific. Staff were friendly and courteous at all times. Valet was very fast, and the price was comparable to other area hotels. I'd recommend […] it, especially if you're just using it as a place to sleep off a night of partying, which is all really near. The trolley that runs out front cannot be heard, and our room faced the street. Mehr

Pleasantly surprised - the staff of the hotel were outstanding and gracious, the room was really nice, the bed was comfy, and it was nice and quiet despite being on a lower floor and right off the elevators. (I expected to have to ask to move after the first night but slept just fine!). The breakfast bar was really well served - the staff running it […] were helpful and attentive to guests while making sure everything was stocked and looked appealing. The hotel is basically on the west side of bourbon st., if you want that - but also right on the trolly line if you want to get out and explore. And it's onlly 4 blocks from the Aiport bus stop. it is in a good location but the staff was rude. The valet left my car road side all nite and the breakfast was not even worth waking up for.

The room was very nice and clean. Everyone was very helpful. My only problem was that everytime the people next door flushed their toilet you can hear it; also, when the other guest were going in and out of there room the door would slam shut very loudly. Breakfast was descent.

The hotel is about 10 min walk from Jackson Square and the St. Charles Streetcar towards French Quarter runs right in front of it. If you don't like the noise from the partying in French Quarter, I think this is a good alternative. My room was big and the bathroom was huge. The free breakfast was very good also. I would stay here again.

OH MY GOSH!!! AWESOME HOTEL!! I travel to different sporting events and this way BY FAR THE BEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!!!!!!!!! :)))) The staff was super nice, the valet parking was very quick, and the rooms, oh my, the room was out of this world! I could not ask for a better room. I stayed their during the Sugar Bowl from Jan3 to Jan 6 and me […] and my best friend loved every minute of the hotel and all the surroundings. Close to all the main downtown attractions and all the eating places. Close to all the shops. Close to the French Quarter. Not even a block away from Bourbon Street! Great room, great location, great valet, great hotel. When I go back to NOLA, I'll stay here everytime.

Hotel was fine but you had to pay for parking around $22 a night whether you had the hotel valet or the public parking next to hotel.

This hotel is located close to the French Quarter and the Louisiana Superdome, but doesn't have much else to offer. The rooms are very plain, ours had no view except the wall of the next building, and it has no restaurant or gift shop. Service is average, but nothing special. We had trouble getting extra pillows, towels, etc. Doubt I will stay there […] again. Mehr

Clean, large rooms. Close to everything. 1 block from Bourbon & Canal.

Got into room and bathroom was not cleaned as urine was all over toilet and stains. They did send someone up but sour taste from seeing that when spending good bucks on room. Also hot water wasnt working well. All in All not a good stay.

All I can say is although we could only get a queen smoking room when I reall needed non-smoking due to allergies, this was no problem here. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff was very prompt in changing the vent filter and spraying the room down to eliminate any smoke odor. I never had a problem with the smoke allergy at all and […] my allergies are pretty severe. This hotel is in a fantastic location central to the superdome and the french quarter. This hotel had some of the best service I have experienced yet and I've stayed in NOLA quite a bit for games. Will definitely be booking there again! Mehr

The Hampton Inn in downtown New Orleans is close to the Quarter and shopping. It is not close to the Superdome, certainly not across the street or 200 yards away.

Hampton Inn Downtown is just 2 blocks from French Quarter so you can do many things by walking.

This hotel was very nice for the price. Rooms were clean and comfortable, service was great. It was located just far enough away from burbon street to be a quiet night but close enough to walk over and enough the fun.

This was a great location to the Superdome and VERY quiet as far as sleeping goes. Will definitely stay here again.

Anything & everything we needed extra for our stay - was handled professionally & with friendly eagerness. This will be the hotel of my choice to stay anytime I vist New Orleans.
