Das Hotel hat die 4 Sterne voll verdient! Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Das Frühstück ist vergleichbar mit jedem 4 Sterne Hotel in Deutschland. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern und entsprechen auch absolut dem Standard eines 4 Sterne Hotels in Deutschland.

Für unseren einwöchigen Venedigbesuch suchten wir einen idealen Ausgangspunkt und haben ihn im Hotel Ai Pini gefunden. Auf dem kleinen parkähnlichen Grundstück (etwas kleiner, als die Fotos vermuten lassen) konnten wir unser Fahrzeug die ganze Woche sicher abstellen. Ca. 15 m vor der Hotelzufahrt befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle und mit der Linie 7 kann man ohne Umsteigen direkt zum Busbahnhof in Venedig fahren, wo sich auch die Vaporettostationen befinden. Die Busfahrt dauert ca. eine halbe Stunde - der Bus ist je nach Tageszeit relativ voll. Vom Busbahnhof in Venedig kann man in ein Vaporetto umsteigen oder nach Überquerung der nächsten Brücke direkt die Gassen von Venedig erkunden. Im Hotel konnten wir auch die Kombikarten Hellovenezia für Bus und Vaporetto erstehen. Diese kostete für sieben Tage fünfzig Euro pro Person und hatte sich bereits nach dem zweiten Tag gerechnet. Das Personal im Ai Pini ist absolut freundlich und sehr hilfbereit - angefangen beim Empfang bis zum sehr guten Restaurant (empfehlenswert). Es ist jedoch ratsam, die etwas größeren Zimmer möglichst mit Blick auf den Park zu wählen - darin kann man sich aber sehr wohl fühlen (auch wenn es keine Zimmer mit Balkon gibt). Alles in allem als Ausgangspunkt für Venedigbesuche sehr geeignet.
Lage
Das Starhotels Splendid Venice, Italien, befindet sich an einem engen Kanal zwischem dem Markusplatz und der Rialtobrücke.Das Designer-Einkaufsviertel der Stadt, die Seufzerbrücke, der Markusplatz und die Rialtobrücke liegen weniger als 1km von dem Hotel entfernt.Der Flughafen Marco Polo liegt 13km von dem Hotel entfernt.
Charakteristika des Hotels
Das Hotel Starhotels Splendid Venice hat eine eigene Anlegestelle für Gondeln.Gäste können im Musikraum Musik hören, im Medienraum fernsehen, in der Bibliothek ein Buch lesen oder den kostenfreien W-LAN-Internetzugang des Hotels in den öffentlichen Bereichen nutzen.Im Winter wird der Innenhof mit beweglichem Glasdach durch einen Kamin beheizt.Im Restaurant Le Maschere wird täglich ein Frühstücksbuffet serviert; es bietet durch deckenhohe Fenster einen Blick auf den Kanal.Das Restaurant, das zum Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen geöffnet hat, bietet venezianische Spezialitäten mit frischem Fisch, Grillfleisch und Pasta.

Jahrhundert beherbergt.Die 165 Gästezimmer des Hotels bieten einen Parkettboden aus Eichenholz und perlgraue Wände mit Schmuck-Glyzinien.Zu den Annehmlichkeiten gehören Minibars und Fenster, die sich öffnen lassen.Die weißgefliesten Badezimmer verfügen über Duschen oder Dusche/Badewanne-Kombinationen.Die Dachterrasse, die Gäste mit dem Aufzug erreichen, bietet einen Blick auf das Zentrum der Serenissima und die Dächer von Venedig.Gegen Aufpreis steht in allen Gästezimmern ein Internetzugang über W-LAN zur Verfügung.

San Marco ist das eigentliche Touristen-Venedig. Der Piazza San Marco ist bekannt für die Tauben, den Markusturm, den Markusdom, den Dogenpalast und teure Cafés und darf bei einer Stadtbesichtigung nicht fehlen. Die schönen Aussichten auf das Wasser sind legendär, und nirgendwo sonst in Venedig warten so viele Gondeln wie hier auf Passagiere. Während der Saison ist der Piazza mit Tagesausflüglern dicht bevölkert, während nur ein bis zwei Ecken weiter die Straßen ruhiger sind und es noch mehr Museen und Paläste zu entdecken gibt.

"perfekte Lage für eine Reise nach Venedig"
Sehr freundliches Personal, angenehm große Zimmer, hervorragende Sauberkeit, eine spitzen Lage, für italienische Verhältnisse gutes Frühstück sowie eine gemütliche Hotelbar haben unsere Venedig-Reise zu einem ausgesprochen gelungenen Ereigniss gemacht. "Beste Lage in Venedig"
Ein kleines und feines Hotel in idealer Lage mitten im Stadtkern. 5 Min. zum Marcos-Platz, 6 Minuten zur Rialto-Brücke. Alle tollen Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Also Hotel bestens zu empfehlen.

Allgemein sehr gut, schade, dass der Frühstücks-raum (gedeckter Innenhof) nur wenigen Gästen zur Verfügung steht. Dieser ist vorallem mit 2-er u. 4-er Tischen bestückt, bei 3 Personen bleibt leider oft nur der Frühstücksraum innen. (recht dunkel)
"Gutes Hotel, aber nicht besonders"
Das Hotel liegt super zwischen Rialto und San Marco. Gut erreichbar, wenn man einmal weiß wo, dann auch gut zu finden. Hotel ist sauber und ganz schön. Das Serviceverhalten der Mitarbeiter, bis auf eine Dame am Guest-Relationsship Counter, ist nicht besonders. Es reisst sich wahrlich keiner ein Bein aus. Die Küche macht zwischendurch am Tag mal zu, […] so dass kein durchgehender Zimmerservice verfügbar ist. Insgesamt: schönes Hotel, recht glatt/nicht aussergewöhlich in der Aufmachung und für den Preis aus meiner Sicht zu wenig Service und Amnities. Mehr
"Lage war gut,nicht weit vom Marcusplatz entfernt"
Die Lage war gut, aber es war doch relativ schwierig zu finden. Da die Gässchen unübersichtlich und eng sind. Das Zimmer war sehr klein für einen superior Raum.Mann konnte gerade ums Bett laufen, das wars dann leider auch schon,aber es war nett gestaltet. Fürs Internet verlangten sie sehr hohe Gebühren, was bei dem Zimmerpreis nicht angebracht ist. Frühstückauswahl […] war sehr beschränkt, sonst in Ordnung. Das Hotel liegt mitten auf dem Weg von der Anlegestelle Rialto zum Markusplatz. Kommt man mit dem Vaporetto, braucht man die Koffer nicht weit zu schleppen. Es gibt auch eine direkte Anlegestelle beim Hotel für Boot-Taxis. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist zu mickrig. Keine Tomaten, Gruken usw., kein Lachs, Fisch, nur 2 Sorgen Käse, Salami und Schinken. "Super Hotel"
sehr schönes Hotel. Werde ich weiter empfehlen. Sehr sauber und Hotelpersonal sehr freundlich! Die Lage ist toll. Es ist einbisschen laut, da manche Touristen keine Rücksicht auf schlafende Leute nehmen. Sonst super Hotel!

"Zentral Rialtobrücke und Markusplatz"
Das Hotel kann ich nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Die Lage ist perfekt, die Zimmer geräumig und sehr schön. Frühstück bis 10h30 möglich und für Italien reichlich. Würde sofort wieder hin.
"Excellent welcome and attentive staff"
This was a return visit to the hotel where we had spent our honeymoon 30 years ago. The hotel is lovely, the welcome was warm, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals we had in the restarant were also very good. We hope to return again and do not plan to wait another 30 years......
"Very understaffed"
Stayed there for 3 nights. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Very noisy location- were woken up several times by drunken screaming people in the streets. But close to sights. The worst part about the stay was no customer service. In our entire 3 1/2 days there we only saw the guest relations/concierge there once. We were never able to ask any questions […] unless we waited about 20 minutes at the reception as the receptionists were checking people in and out. We needed help with directions one time and waited so long that my husband left and went to another hotel and got help and came back before I was able to. Mehr

I particularly like the warm atmosphere of the art deco sitting area around the hotel lobby. The hotel is located near all major attractions within a few minutes walking distance. We have dinner in the restaurant which provided an excellent service with a reasonable price compare to other restaurants in the area. However, it is located in a narrow canal, […] water bus cannot go directly to the hotel front door. It costs us 80 euro to get a water taxi to ride us from the train station to the hotel front door. Alternatively, you can get water bus get off in Rilato stop with only 6.5 euro and walk through the narrow streets for about 5 minutes. But be prepare that you would easily get lost in the narrow streets while you are finding the way going to the hotel. Get a city map figuring out the way to walk to the hotel would make it easier. "Starhotels SPLENDID Venice - A splendid stay!"
Staying at the Starhotel Splendid Venice made my honeymoon the best ever. They upgraded us to a King's suite with river view and deluxe King's bed and also a box of chocolate, this is really sweet of a small boutique hotel can offer! Room is big, nice, neat, clean, great. It is absolutely better than a 3-star hotel and I would say they have 5 star service […] and worth a 5-star hotel! Only 2 minutes walk from San marco square, close to everything. starhotel splendid venice was a wonderful hotel great size for a venice hotel, very well decorated newly renovated, clean, bathrooms were terrific beds were very comfortable, maid service perfect dinner in the hotel was great for thanksgiving hotel front desk needs work. assistance was limited. knowledge of resturants and sites was not addressed with […] great interest in the guests. we were sent to the resturants they were "given" as good ones. they were NOT good and expensive. this hotel will be perfect when they hire front desk management that trains staff to care about their guests. internet was given for free for 30minutes a day in the lobby. what person doesn't need to connect each day. Great location ! great rooms ! Everything nice except the service for breakfast and the breakfast itself. You have to ask for drinks many times and waiters might be quite unpolite. Breakfast buffet was very basic and everything has to be ordered and paid as an extra.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from St. Mark's Sq. It's also a 5-minute walk to the Rialto Bridge. The staff was very helpful. Shopping all around. Room was very clean and the beds were amazing. Breakfast was everything you would normally eat at home, including eggs, bacon, breads, pastries and fruits. We definitely stay there again.

Terrible chinzy, minimal breakfast. Dreadful fresh fruit selection, lack of cheese selection, Especially deficit was the fresh fruit. The Starhotel in Milan was far better in the breakfast dept. The problem with you hoteliers in Venice is that you have no real compeition. Need some international level hotels so that overpriced, remodeled palazzos can […] be eliminated altogether. Clean hotel in the heart of San Marco. On small canal and hence, taxis don't like to take you there, using the excuse that the water is too high and bridges to low. However at hotel, taxis come and go freely. Staff professional but unpleasant; you are doing them a favor by staying with them. The staff at this hotel definitely went above and beyond, especially the front desk people. If you are looking for a convenient, central location, this hotel cannot be beat. 2 minutes walks to great shopping, St. Mark's square and many other tourist destinations.

Very nice hotel, good location, nicely remodeled. Very large room (by europian standards) Very pleasant dining hall where breakfast is served (was included in room price), decent selection of dishes. One problem - ventilation in the bathroom did not work. And wasnt fixed during our 2-night stay.

This hotel is beautiful but the bed was as hard as a rock! We both woke up in pain the next day making it difficult to sightsee. Great location and lovely accommodations but the bed and the very poor concierge servce make it difficult to whole heartedly reccommend.

I am an Italian American, have been to Venice many times..and this truly was the best. I have stayed in the most expensive in Venice but they all felt snooty and old..not antique. The Splendid Hotel and its location were wonderful! Close enough to all, so that we could escape the midday tourists and heat, quickly, then head back out. We were able to […] stay in luxury but see all sights within walking distance. The only thing I did not like is not having or allowing an iron in the room. This is a Europaen concept but truly unacceptable, especially when traveling for many days. I am "type A" and would truly recommend this Hotel to Family. Mehr

"We got lucky"
We had booked 3 triple rooms and they ended up giving us 3 suites that were located at the end of the hotel with a single entrance so no other guests ever passed our rooms. The size of the rooms were fantastic and quite frankly we were shocked as the pricing was well below what I expected for rooms in Europe. The only issue we had was that in one of […] the rooms I am guessing that a rodent had met its demise in the air conditioning system. Each room had two thermostats so we ended up only using one of them in the room with the problem. Internet pricing was reasonable and the breakfast buffet was included in the rate. The buffet was far from stellar, but it included cereal, breads and fruit which was enough to get us going each morning. The location was great as we were a short walk to San Marcos square and we were able to get water taxis to and from the hotel for departure. The staff was friendly and we were able to get all of our requests filled. They arranged a trip to Muarano to go to a glass factory which was appreciated as we had recently seen it on TV. If you buy enough they will give you a ride back. If you don't, you have to take the public boats back. Be prepared that the taxi boats cost quite a bit to and from the airport so be prepared. Mehr

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night (July 5/11) during a day excursion to Venice from Florence. The hotel was an easy walk from the water bus terminal at St. Marcos Square and is located on one of the small inner canals in the center of everything. You can walk anywhere in 5-10 minutes. The room was smallish and almost had the feel of a yacht cabin, but was exceptionally clean and modern looking. The buffet style breakfast included in our package was also very good. The price is expensive, but consistent with the generally higher rate in Venice. We loved our time in Venice and staying at this very nice hotel was a big part of that positive experience.
