Wir möchten immer ein Zimmer zum Hof haben und nicht eines im angrenzenden Hotelgebäude. Ich habe deshalb schon die teurere Zimmerkategorie gebucht mit 2 Betten. Aber wie letztes Mal 10 Dollar Upgrade gezahlt. Aber dafür super freundlicher Service. Super Preis Leistungsverhälltnis für San Francisco und tolle lage zu Fuß 5-10Minuten zur Fisherman-Warf. Auch parken für 12 Dollar in San Francisco ,es sind es in den meisten anderen Hotels 25-50 Dollar.Jederzeit wieder.

Das Hotel liegt in der Geary St. ein paar Blocks vom Union Square. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im zweiten Stockwerk im Mittelgang, was den großen Vorteil hat, dass man den Straßenlärm nicht mitbekommt, sondern nur den gelegentlichen Lärm den andere Gäste verursachen. Die Zimmer haben nur ein kleines Fenster mit einem wenig schönen Ausblick auf den Innenhof. Das Continental Breakfast besteht aus Kaffee, Toast m. Butter u. Marmelade, O- bzw. Apfelsaft u. einem Stück Obst. Problematisch ist die Parkplatzsituation, da gleich vor der Haustür eine Bushaltestelle ist und ansonsten i.d.R. nur Parkplätze für Kurzparker vorhanden sind. Das Hotel bietet für 30 $ p. Tag einen Valetparkservice an, d.h. es kommt jemand u. parkt das Auto irgendwo, was sehr gut funktioniert hat. Das Hotel liegt zwar in der Nähe des Unionsquare aber auch sehr dicht am Tenderloin Bezirk, den man vor allem Nachts meiden sollte. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel vom Preis - Leistungsverhältnis weiter empfehlen!

"The Fairmont San Francisco"
One of the nicest hotels in San Francisco with very comfortable rooms and good location. The Holiday season decoration at the Lobby is amazing!

"Special night out in the city"
The Fairmont lived up to our expectations as a grand old San Francisco experience and a special night out. The lobby and bars were beautiful including the Christmas decorations. The room was clean and pleasant and we enjoyed fabulous views of the city day and night. The low point was the service in the lounges (first afternoon tea and later cocktails […] ) which was slow and inattentive. Overall a good stay. Mehr

"Over-rated"
$17 pot of coffee delivered through room service was bitter and overall mediocre. Party in next room was really irritating and it took a long time for noise to go down to irritating only. I could feel the pounding through the surface of the sofa.
"Fairmont"
Great location but the front desk talked us into a room with a "view". It wasnt much of a view and there was a loud utility vehicle washing windows outside the room for two hours starting at 07:30 in the morning. That wasn't pleasant. If you are planning to wash the windows, dont "upgrade" people to the window washee room please..
"What a disappointment"
Even at a great rate, this hotel was not worth the price. Service failures at every turn. Truly a beautiful hotel, but incapable of providing 5-star service. Just one example - a 20 minute wait (in a restaurant that was 1/2 full) for a cold buffet that cost close to $90 for two after adding tip and the 15% "breakfast surcharge." "Classic hotel for the Holidays"
For the Christmas season, the hotel is a great place to stay. They have a magnificent ginger bread house built in the entry area and finished by the hotel chefs with home made frosting and graham crackers. Amazing, especially for the kids!!!
Could hear everyone talking in the hallway as they were returning to their hotel rooms throughout the night. Wish the rooms were a little more soundproof for what we're paying. Called the front desk but they said there was nothing they could do. On a positive, Christmas music was already playing when i first entered the hotel room.

Beautiful interior architecture, excellent customer service. The hotel was beyond expectations and it's highly recommended. Would recommend you stay at this hotel if you're looking for a great hotel.

Fairmont is a fine hotel with great history, but now that I stayed there twice, I don't think I will stay there for any more of my business trips to SF. It's a minor thing for many people, but having a coffee maker in the room so that I can make my own tea and not call room service every time I want a cup of tea is really important to me. It is has less luxurious lobby, but the rooms are very identical, except for Intercontinental has coffee makers in the rooms. The hotel is locted on Nob Hill one of the most inaccesible spots in SF. It is downhill all the way to anywhere. The hotel itself is good bordering on excellent and so it so be for the price. Food is expensive but quality is superb. Location and price will deter me from staying again. "Oldie but goodie"
This hotel is a little frayed around the edges but it has everything you want in a hotel - cleanliness, soft towels, good restaurant, quiet and ample sized rooms. Our room even had a walk in closet! This was our second stay at the Fairmont and we cannot say enough about the hotel. We believe the Fairmont is a very secure hotel- hosting many famous people over the years. Our room was in the Tower with a great view of the bay and Alcatraz. The bed was very comfortable and the bath area has a deep tub along with a glass enclosed shower. The front […] desk staff was most friendly and helpful. The hotel helped us book some tours which were most enjoyable and informative. We found some great local places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Dinner at the Tonga Room was a treat with thunder and lightening and a tropical downpour (rain ending up in the former pool). The lobby is great for people watching- and relaxing with a drink. This hotel is very musty and our room smelt stale all the time - no tea or coffee making facilities in the room nor free WIFI anywhere. Staff were good if a little aloof at times but it is a grand old building however not worth the price.

"Old European Charm"
The Fairmont is a turn-of-the-century European-style hotel, with an interior somewhat like a Renaissance palace. With the character of a gracious old dame amidst younger, shinier competitors, its appeal is attributable to its old-world charm. I particularly enjoyed the dining area, where the lelegant style is matched by the firnedly, polite service. […] Our room was comfortable, spacious and impeccably maintained. My only complaint was that I thought the wi-fi was a bit expensive! We found the Fairmont to be very well positioned for touring the city, and very delighted to return to its comfortable interiors after a tiring day of touring. "Noisy dissapointment"
The hotel itself and our room were in good condition. The problems we experienced was from noise from other guests. We changed rooms once to avoid loud tv noise coming through the wall from another guest because of poor soundproofing. In our other room at night we were disturbed by angry exchanges in the corridor between guests about noisy behaviour. We […] had a little breakfast here, but the quality of the service and the croissants offered left a lot to be desired. We were attracted to this hotel by a good discount but next time we will stay somewhere different. "Overpriced!!"
I'm quite flexible but this place was way overpriced. I would not recommend it. The rooms are old and I thought the bed-head was going to fall off. The staff were pleasant. One you get past the grand entrance, there is nothing grand about the hotel. Save your money.

"Amazing!"
The hotel was beautiful and the view from the new tower is simply unreal. We had such a great time at their restaurant/bar Tonga which had live music, dancing, and very reasonable drink prices! Couple these facts with the outstanding price point from hotels.com and it was a "no brainer!"
"Excellence doesn't come cheap."
The best hotel I have ever stayed in - by far. One of the most expensive too, but strangely, not that far off from other high-end hotels. This Fairmont was SPECTACULAR! Unbelievable views, professional staff, everything in perfect condition, and comfortable bed.

The Fairmont in Nob Hill is an historical landmark. However, the service and facilities is just not that of a five star hotel. I am a local resident, and sometimes stay at the Fairmont when attending events in San Francisco. This is our go-to nice hotel for any special weekend. My only issues this time around were that there was leftover plastic bags and a shoebox from the previous guests in our closet, and there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom. "Lovely hotel high, high atop Nob Hill"
This is a very nice hotel -- no secret there. Nice restaurant, very well trained if sort of awkwardly deferential staff. My wife and I and youngster visited for a few days this summer. On one hand it's pretty close to Chinatown and other interesting spots. Plus the views up there are fantastic. (Our little guy loved watching the streetcars passing by […] our window in four directions.) On the other hand, it's really high up. I don't think of myself as a complete wimp, but pushing that stroller up Mount Nob was kind of a downer. Anyway, if you're cabbing or not a complete wimp, go for it. We had a fantastic time staying at the legendary Fairmont hotel during 4th of July weekend. Even our dog loved it. Nice and quiet.

Because the hotel is older the rooms are very spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable and the service is exceptional. A true landmark and a great place to stay.

I very much like the hotel. I was very pleased when the clerk found out that it was my birthday and upgraded me to a very nice room. The one area of the survey that lost points was ins"comfort." "Fairmont Luxurious- but those little fees..."
The room was comfortably luxurious, but all the extras are pricey - including morning coffee and wireless or ethernet access. I was surprised a place as otherwise, well, decadently gorgeous as the Fairmont still charged a relative arm and a leg for internet access, but I suppose folks staying for more than a day either a) don't mind the expense, or […] b) have their own internet-capable devices. Yet the food, the service, the elegant feel, and the wonderfully quiet hallways all make it a neat place to feel on top of the world (and the hill) for a day or two by the bay. Mehr
