Coast Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre - Calgary

Das Hotel an sich ist nicht das Neueste, dafür aber preiswert und sauber. Einzig die Lage als Tourist ohne Auto ist mäßig. Das Hotel liegt in einem Gewerbegebiet, welches aber keinen nennenswerten Lärm verursacht. Restaurants gibt es außer zwei großen Burgerketten keine in der direkten Nähe. Ein 5-10 minütiger Fußmarsch ist notwendig um eine Shoppingmall […] zu erreichen. Dort fährt auch der Calgary Transit, mit welchem man in 20 Minuten die Innenstadt erreichen kann. Wir blieben 2 Nächte nach Ankunft in Kanada, und nutzten einen Tag für eine kleine Stadterkundung bevor es in die Berge ging. Für diesen Zweck war es zufriedenstellend. Frühstück haben wir nicht probiert. Da gab es downtown bessere Angebote. Mehr

Staff was excellent enjoyed my stay very much

When I showed up they had no record of reservation and had no rooms. Took close to an hour to finally get us settled. My room had no TV, no blankets on the bed and no hot water. It felt dirty and unclean.

When we went to shower in the evening around 9:00pm we couldnt shower it took 1 and 1/2 hours to get the hot water working as we were on the 11 th floor by then it was to late as we had to get up early the next morning so for 2 evenings we werent able to shower. When we checked out the next day they never offered any compensation for our inconvenience […] in fact they just didnt care at all. Mehr

Hotel is large somewhat dated and worn. Staff were friendly. Restarant was not open for the hours posted in room. However, it appeared room service was promoted more than dinningroom service. Carpet was being changed in the lobby area so bare concrete for a few days. Surrounding area had food options to satisfy hunger. Beds were comfortable. It was a gorgeous hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. We were going to a hockey game and they told us exactly how to get there on the LRT. Which was conveniently located just a 10 minute walk away. Will definitely stay with coast plaza hotel again.

I have stayed here before. It is a nice hotel, older but well kept and clean. Resteraunt service and food was a little slow, but it was good. There were not enough towels in the pool for all guests, but it was a very busy weekend and they did try to accomidate as fast as they could. Booked a room online and requested a King bed. Checked into the hotel and found two double beds instead. I was told a King bed room was not available as there were water issues within the room. Problem was solved within a few hours however it was just an inconvenience to switch rooms. Moved into a new room and found an opened condom wrapper underneath […] a pillow. Mehr

My family and I recently stayed at the Coast Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Calgary. We found a great deal on hotels.com for this particular weekend. The hotel was very easy to find, the front desk staff was very accomodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable as was the pool and hot tub. We experienced some very bad weather while at the […] hotel and the comfort, friendliness and available amenities made the trip enjoyable for all. The beds were nice but a little bit firmer than we are used to (everyone has their preferences). I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family if you are looking for an economical yet classy hotel for business or pleasure. Looking forward to staying there again in the future. Thankyou for the great service. The shuttle from and to the airport is a great idea. Help us out about wandering how to get to our hotel took alot of worries away the stress levels none. Thankyou again. Food was great, staff no 1.

We always go to this hotel because of the location and the great service. The staff is very freindly and the housekeers and mateanice staff are alwaya there when you need them. Thanks for the great stay.

the room was fine once they got us in the right room...no big deal! It's a little dated in the rooms but they are clean and comfortable. We have stayed there a number of times for convenience, easily accessible to #1 highway.

Very good service, quiet clean room. Taxi was payed for and arranged in lieu of shuttle, excellent

This hotel was a bit outdated but was clean and has friendly staff beds were comfy too! Overall value was a good Start to our overnite in cowtown as we made our way to south America

The staff were amazing here... helped me with my vehicle that was frozen in the cold spell. Helped with a battery charger and allowed me to stay in the room late until the vehicle started. Can't say enough about this old fashioned care of service. Although having a vehicle not start it was easier knowing the staff would help.

We stayed in this hotel overnight as we were leaving to Mexico early in the morning. There was a group of 6 of us, 3 rooms total. Our room was non smoking and the other 2 rooms were smoking. We were surprised to find that the smoking rooms are of much greater luxury than a non smoking room. As we were all visiting in one of the smoking rooms, we noticed […] plate of food that had been left on top of the tv stand from who knows how long ago. After all the visiting was done we went back to our non smoking room. Walking to our room, the whole floor smelled of cigar smoke which was disgusting. Had it not have been for the food we ate at the restaurant sending me to the bathroom at 3am, we would not have been up on time to catch our plane because we did not receive our wake up call that we asked for when we checked in. We also found out that we were not on the shuttle list to the airport which we asked for when we checked in. All in all it was a terrible start to what turned into a great holiday. Glad we did not stay there when we arrived back in Calgary. Mehr

the queen beds were to uncomfortable and the room was too warm the air conditioner did not worki tub was to small. but we really enjoy the location being central to shopping and visiting family the pool was nice and the food was superb in the room service.

We booked a deal from www.hotels.ca. The deal was for Calgary zoolight tickets for 2 children and breakfast. To our surprise the hotel manager refused to give calgary zoolight passes and offered only 2 breakfast vouchers for family of 4. I complained to hotels.ca, they responded only when I checked out. When I went into my room, I found clothes from the previous guest still hanging in the closet and socks under the sink! Otherwise everything else was fine.

1 night stay for conference in same hotel. Nov 27 found front desk clerk abrupt and indifferent. Room clean and comfortable. Hotel in need of maintenence. Breakfast and restaurant staff were lovely. Conference was catered well.

Although it isn't in the most luxurious neighborhood, this hotel was very clean and more than adequate for the price we paid. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only complaint would be that the fan was quite loud, and turning it off made the room quite stuffy, but otherwise our stay was excellent.

the hotel and staff were very comfortable and freindly always ready to meet our very needs. thaks forthe wonderful stay see you next time we are in calgary.

Although the room was clean, it was very dark and dreary. The heat did not work and the toilet ran constantly. Had to turn the water off at the wall to sleep. If the price had been half or less, it would have been okay, but the price I paid led me to expect much better.

I stayed at this hotel because of a professional development activity that was happening on-site. I was frankly disappointed at the condition of the hotel for the price. A shame I couldn't stay longer!.. Great hotel..

This was a hotel we stayed in before flying ou the next morning from Calgary. Carpets in hallways had quite a few stains on them. We ate in tghe restaurant in the hotel that night and our waiter disappeared, (was in a heated discussion with his manager), so we felt abandoned and had to bother another server to get our bill. Hotel offers a 2 free brunch […] vouchers per room, we were 4, why not give one to the kids too? Great airport shuttle. The A/C in the room was not working, went down to front desk to complain about 5 am and tghe staff at the front desk said oh well and shrugged their shoulders. Mehr

Great breakfast buffet. Nice hotel. Great service

Lobby looks really nice, the room itself was a little disappointing - could use some updating and upgrades (especially in bathroom). Pool was good. Complimentary breakfast was disappointing and elevator service was brutal - took forever for the elevator.

The hotel was great, great buffet breakfast, pool was nice, nice ambience. Will stay again. Although booking through Hotels.com had some issues with check-in, I conformed breakfast for all four for two night stay, at the counter they said it is not included, then they said you only get it for only one day just two adults not the kids. The room generally met my expectations but was nothing great. The beds are fairly comfortable and the room was equipped with a TV (old CRT type), hairdryer and fridge. Lots of noise could be heard through the double-fire door. The air conditioning is not central but rather mounted under the window so the system is quite noisy and cannot be used during […] sleep. Washrooms were generally clean but aged. The sink plug was partly depressed and drained very slowly. Ventilation for the washroom was very poor. Our door did not unlock or close properly and required considerable force to "bang" the door shut. The surrounding facilities were not the most welcoming or quiet with a night club and lots of late night guests right beside the hotel. All in all however, the hotel was average. Room was extremely HOT, they did provide a fan, but that wasn't acceptable, they wouldn't move us to another room as they didn't have any. Normally we love staying at this hotel, but will have to rethink it after this experience
