Westmark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference Center - Fairbanks

Das Hotel ist ein riesen Kaste, in den die großen amerikanischen Bustouren ihre Touristen absetzen. Das Hotel hat zwei Restaurants und kostenloses Internet. Unser Zimmer war recht groß und für den Preis absolut ok. Beim nächsten mal würde ich allerdings in Pikes Landing absteigen.

IT was nice to be able to bring our dog in the room for just $10/night. Breakfast was good. Because of the dog, I guess we were put in the smoking wing and we had to walk through groups of smoking people in the entryway, but they were nice

It was a good room in a convenient location. The first room we got wasn't cleaned, though. The second room we got was clean, but smaller and harder for my disabled husband to get to. Overall, I was pleased with everything and thankful that they had another room available.

Always clean, quiet and very relaxing. Front desk clerks are always so kind and smiling. Continental breakfast included, can't beat that.

Liked Fairbanks alot but you do need a car -- can rent at airport.

I was very satisfied with the hotel. Their breakfast was a lot better than I expected. Unlike other hotels, I like the fact that they use White Duvet covers that are washable.

First off, there was some sort of convention and the guests of this convention were drunk during the wee hours of the evenings, running through the hall naked! And the fire alarm in the middle of the night. The hotel itself was decent but unfortunately the guests at the time were not.

I enjoyed the room it was very nice but the bed was hard. I liked that I could control the temperature in the room as I like it cold when I sleep but warm when I'm sitting watching TV.

The staff was very pleasant. The lobby appealing. The rooms and t.v.'s were outdated. Breakfast was terrible at best. Overall, not a memorable experience with the exception of the friendly staff.

Clean, quiet hotel. Be sure to ask for the North Tower. It is newer and more updated.

We checked out the room, it was ok. We met with a friend and when we came back around 10 pm, we found someone else's stuff in our room. We left the room, called the front desk immediately and waited outside the room for over 30 minutes. We called back & were told the clerk had something important come up. We were then moved to another room and were […] told the room would be locked to make sure when the other guest came back they would have to contact the desk. We were told there wasn't a manager on until after 11:30. We were tired and requested a manager first thing in the morning. We went for breakfast and then found out we were locked out of our room. After speaking to clerks who treated us as difficult guests, we finally found someone who went up to the room to try his key. We found that the clerks attitudes made the first mistake much worse. This was not a good experience and will probably be the last time we stay there. Breach of security is serious and three clerks and one manager completely bungled this experience. The Division Room Manager was the only one who seemed to realize how serious this situation was. Mehr

It's a great hotel. This is the second time we've stayed there and are very happy with the quality and service of this hotel. The only thing it is missing is a pool. Book in the off-season for some great deals.

When we arrived our room was dirty, there was hair in the bathtub as well as on the back of the door of the bathroom. We could also hear a dog barking next to us and walls were very thin. The room was not updated to the point of even having the old pink toilets. They did move us to a new room in another part of the hotel and it was more updated. Beds […] were very hard and could feel the springs. 2nd room was clean, but there was no apology, I felt more like it was my fault for asking for a clean room. We won't go back for sure. Mehr

The only complaint that I have is when I got in my room the carpet was not vacuumed.Their was lots of dark long hair on my pillow and the same kind of hair all in the shower,also croch hair in the shower.And hair all over the tile floor in the shower area.The cleaning service employee did not care about their job at all.I did complain to the front desk […] that evening. We'll I loved the fact that there was a workout area as well as vending machines too. Also the the television had quite a few channels on it. The bed was deffinteily comfortable.

The main area of the hotel was very nice. The restaurant/bar had well made food though limited options. The room I stayed in was fair. It was cleanly, though not overly comfortable. The furnishings seemed slightly older and you could tell that there were little fixer items about. One of the worst things was the internet. At $7.00 a day extra to stay […] in a room that had access to the "free" wifi (direct networking was not available), I would prefer speeds greater than a 56k dial up modem. Mehr

The hotel is nicely located close to downtown and major roads in Fairbanks. However, what Hotels.com and the hotel did not mention prior to booking was that there is a new part of the hotel built in 2004 and an old part that is 40+ years old. All of the pictures are from the new hotel on the websites. Once we arrived, we found out we were in the "South […] Annex" which was the old part. This area was outdated in spite of some attempted remodeling. In addition the rooms smelled stale with the A/C and heat constantly running together. The beds were newer, but when we pulled back the covers, we found hair all over the sheets! Plus the sheets were stained. We told the front desk, and were moved to another room down the hall. This room had no hair, but the pillows and covers were severely stained. The front desk eventually got us new pillows. Also, there is not any internet in the rooms in this older part, but they did tell me we could pay more per night and get moved into the newer part. We did have internet in the common spaces, which are not in the annex portion. Overall good location and comfortable beds, but the lack of clarity on the room you are getting and the less then adequate cleanliness of the rooms was disappointing. Mehr

Stayed 6 nights recently, Sept. 2012. Even in "off-season", the place was impeccable in appearance and functionality. A lot of attention to detail. Was very pleased with this facility in every way, recommened it to others for business or pleasure. The location is convenient, the parking area well lit and there is a sence of being in a secure place. […] (Did not try the restaurant) Stayed in 5 locations in Ak. over 2 weeks, this is the only one we'd go back to or send others to. Very quiet rooms, well maintained. Bed was comfortable. Missed not having a microwave or refrig. THe dining room was a bit expensive, but good food and atmosphere.

Beds were good, service was excellent. A few things to be aware of that didn't find out till we got there. Not every room has Internet access which is not good if you want to curl up in bed and check out what Fairbanks has to offer. No hot tub . The red lantern restaurant was ok - service was very good but the salad greens were limp to the point we […] sent it back. This is considered the best hotel in Fairbanks. The front desk staff was great! The room was comfortable and clean enough. It was a pleasant stay.
