First of all, I give highest marks to the breakfast buffet. The food was great and the people very friendly. The waffles were the best. Besides that, I had a lot of issues with the hotel. There was huge confusion in front of the hotel and we waited a long time to get valet service. We needed a crib for our daughter and they gave us an extremely dirty […] one that we did not feel safe putting her in. The icemaker outside was broken. The housekeeper did not clean our room, the beds weren't even made. The hotel rate was pretty expensive, but it did not feel like it. Mehr

This hotel is close to Centre City, shopping, dining, historical points and more. Although it looks like it must be an older hotel, it is clean, updated, and has a restaurant, bar and a Starbucks. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable.

Being right next to the convention center made the Marriott the ideal spot. The only downside to my stay, was when a waitress chased after me, loudly saying that I had to pay, even though the breakfast buffet was included in the price for my room.

great location. buffet breakfast left us wanting, but the dunkin' donuts down the street filled that hole!

We were in Philly for Flower Show. This hotel was in a perfect location. Although, Its a long walk to the "old" part of town, if you have comfortable walking shoes, its a pleasant walk. The bed was comfortable and the staff very helpful. The only glitch was the parking at the hotel. It was super full and it could take up to an hour to get your car. […] I recommend you park your car and walk to the sites. Mehr

The Marriott Downtown is a fabulous hotel and you can't beat the value. For a 4 star experience at a 3 star price, if you're going to the Convention Center or need to stay anywhere near Center City I highly recommend it. Reading Terminal Market is also right across the street, with the Shops on Chestnut and Walnut Streets just a few blocks away. They […] have a great work out room, and the pool is ok, just a bit on the small side (My kids did not care). The Restaurant, 13, served us a delicious full Breakfast at a reasonable add on to the room and the Bar was hopping on Saturday night as well. All the service people in the hotel were very nice and helpful. I will definitely stay there again! Mehr

You're right in the HUB of activities - Center City at it's best. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Philadelphia. With the price guarantee...you can't beat it! Rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable bedding. Room was SPOTLESS...

I would like someone from hotels.com to contact me. I spent alot of money on the hotel for 2 rooms and the service was terrible!

This was our first time at the hotel and my wife and the kids (3 and 8) loved it! Make sure you do the family/breakfast package (for $20 a night, breakfast was great). Great location for shopping (Macy's across the street) and some good restaurants (Jones on Chestnut and 16th?).

Excellent service, excellent location, great atmosphere, plenty of amenities. What more is there to ask for?

Their website claims they have a spa, and they do not nor do they have a salon as advertised, both of which I was planning to use....disappointing

I would recommend this hotel, very clean and close to historic sites

The staff was excellent and polite, especially at the service desk. The location is within a half a block of City Hall and it's about a two minute walk to get to the JFK plaza (home of the famous LOVE statue) or the Grand Lodge of PA. It's about a fifteen or twenty minute walk to get to Penn's Landing and most of the historic district (Liberty Bell, […] etc.). The only real warnings I would give are that you can probably find cheaper places to park than at the hotel or at the garage facing it. Outside of that the only service complaint I could muster was that the sheet on the bed appeared to be for a smaller bed than the one I had so it pulled up during the night, but this was a minor error in an otherwise well kept hotel filled with attentive and polite staff. Threw a bachelor party in 2 adjoining rooms at this Hotel. We were given 2 extremely spacious rooms in the annex building next to the main campus of this hotel and they were great. Never received one complaint from other guests about how loud we were, etc. Staff was friendly and accommodating to the few requests we had. The hotel was clean and modern. The room was beautiful with a flat screen TV and plenty of channels to watch. The hotel was close to all kinds of transportation to get around the city as well as in walking distance of attractions, shopping and restaurants.

The hotel is large, which means they don't bother to provide personalized service. They were supposed to call me to see if I could get an early check-in. They failed to do so and also did not apologize (I walked around for a few hours before I checked back myself). Once in the room I discovered the internet was not working. That was also a 20 -30 minute […] hold on the phone and I finally hung up. Finally, the bathroom was not cleaned from the last occupant. Maybe I caught them on a bad and busy day and they're better on other days, but I won't be back. Mehr

Hotel was very nice, very good concierge service! However the valet parking was very expensive and extremely unnecessary. Overall location was a plus everything in walking distance!!!

We only stayed one night and it was a good experience. The hotel was beautiful inside and the staff was friendly and at the ready to assist. Our room was clean and comfortable. The location was super convenient. Within a block of the hotel were Chili's, The Melting Pot, Hard Rock Cafe, and a 7-11. And, best of all, the Reading Terminal Market was across […] the street. The only thing that caught me by surprise was that I was told that sense I paid online with a debit card, I would need to submit my debit card at check in as a security deposit. I was hesitant because I knew usually they put a 7-10 day temporary hold for the security amount and asked the guy if I could just pay $25 in cash.. he said no worries, the […] hold would be taken off in one business day. It ended up taking 7-10 ha.. other than that, good experience. Mehr

A good hotel, but there are other better values in the same vacinity with better ammenities. I was disappointed with the older TV in the room (NOT flat panel or lcd) and the internet connection was wired rather than wireless. Guest services were good and room service had a good selection at moderate prices.

I went to the Flower Show at the Convention Center. I was able to get to it via the hotel's skywalk without ever going out in the cold. Also had a great gym! Starbucks and two fantastic restaurants downstairs. Staff was very courteous and helpful.

The location of the hotel is very good. Next to city hall, reading terminal and connected to convention center. The lobby is nice, there is a Starbucks on site too. Flower shop, hair salon & spa. Indoor pool at 7th floor, my kids loved it. We took the bed&breakfast pckg and the buffet at the 13 restaurant was excellent. My complain is related to the […] noise around during week days. They are renovating the whole bedrooms! So you see signs all over the hotel. Also the housekeeper service was not very good. My 7 years old do the beds better than those cleaning ladies! In general is convenient but I will wait until they finish their construction work to book again in this place. Mehr

The hotel itself was great. The lobby is beautiful. The front desk peeps and valet guys were fab. The housekeeper that serviced our room was a total jerk. The shower was gross- pubic hair on the floor. eww. On our second day there, I had to ask her to change the sheets and she argued with me about it. Ugh- just change the damned sheets! We liked everything about our stay at the Marriott except our experience at the restaurant Thirteen. While the service and martini were very good the food was very disappointing. The stuffed peppers were not flavorful and did not contain all the ingredients stated on the menu. They were a very poor excuse for an entre.

Hotel location is great-close to city hall, walking distance to many center city attractions and good access to public transit. Room was clean ( no bed bugs-I checked!). But for the $$$ price there was no refirgerator or microwave in the room and no wireless internet in the room ( lobby only). There was an extra charge for internet use -again for the […] $$$ price you would expect that service to be included in the room rate. Also hoped for a better view than one of the rooftop heating and ventilation systems for the price they are charging. But if you do go, make sure to visit Reading Terminal Market nearby and get the chocolate chip cookies from the 4th street bakery there. Mehr
