Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Räume und das Frühstück geschmackvoll und gut. Leider ist die Gegend etwas laut und wenn man nicht mit geschlossenen Fenstern schlafen will, dann wird man ab 7:00 Uhr durch die lauten Straßen Athens geweckt (Zimmer auf Vorderseite, ohne Akropolis-Blick). WLAN kostet im günstigsten Fall nen Fünfer für […] 24h und auch die Benutzung eines der schön beworbenen Jacuzzis kostet nochmal pro 15min-Session. Beides fanden wir etwas happig und für das ansonsten schöne Hotel unpassend. Auf dem kleinen Dach gibt's nicht nur nen tollen Blick, sondern auch nen Barkeeper, der einem gerne den ganzen Tag lang Drinks verkaufen kann. Mehr

Sehr gutes Hotel, direkt neben dem Akropolis Museum gelegen. Freundliches (!) und hilfsbereites (!) Personal. Direkter Fußweg zu Akropolis und Plaka. Toller Blick von der Dachterasse auf Seite der Akropolis (wie in der Hotelbeschreibung) Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. In unserem Fall: 3-Tage-Aufenthalt mit 1A-Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel Herodion in Athen fand Ende Februar 2012 statt. Das Hotel liegt ruhig, gleichwohl sehr günstig zur Akropolis sowie zum Akropolis-Museum und der dazugehörigen Metro-Station. Das von uns gegen Aufpreis gebuchte Doppelzimmer mit Blick auf die Akropolis befindet sich im 4. Das Hotel befindet sich in ausgezeichneter Lage nahe der Akropolis. Die Einrichtung ist modern und ansprechend, das Personal ist verhältnismäßig freundlich. Die Kopfkissen waren äußerst unbequem, WLAN funktionierte sporadisch (jedoch sind in der Lobby Computer mit Drucker und Internetzugang frei zugänglich). Das Frühstück war in Ordnung.

Das Hotel liegt zentral, aber nicht an einer Hauptverkehrsstraße. Die Plaka und die Akropolis sind in direkter Umgebung, für weitere Entfernung bietet die U-Bahn (Haltestelle direkt um die Ecke) eine gute Alternative zum laufen. Das Hotel selbst ist noch neu oder gut renoviert. Das Personal bei allem sehr hilfsbereit. Frühstück ist in Ordnung und deckt […] die gängigen Ansprüche. Overall, the hotel is nice in terms of public spaces - the lobby and roof top are fantastic, thought the service on the roof is a bit slow - you can't beat the view. The rooms don't match the rest of the hotel. The carpet was old and dingy, the sheets were hard as a rock. They need to be updated!

The Herodion Hotel was a pretty great hotel in an amazing location. The service was great and the people were very friendly. And it really is just steps away from the Parthenon and conveniently located near the tram to take you to the beach. The view on the roof top of the Parthenon is also amazing and great for relaxing with a drink. My only complaint […] is that you have to pay to have the jets run on the hot tub. I believe it was 5 euro for every 15 minutes and it just became annoying to put a time limit on that kind of relaxation. We arrived in early April, we were told they had plenty of rooms available. The hotel was very close to the Parthenon, the checking was friendly, however as soon as we got up to our floor smelled a bit unfresh. We had booked a room at a nearby hotel which stated that the room would have an Acropolis view. It did but only if you stood on the small balcony and turned completely left. When looking out the sliding door! you looked directly into an ugly building. So we moved to the Herodion the next day and stayed in a room that stated Acropolis view and it did! […] The room itself wasn't quite as nice as our first hotel, but the view was what it claimed to be. In addition, it had a rooftop deck for sunning with magnificent views and an outside hot tub area, which we didn't use as I believe there was a small fee. The very best thing about the Herodion is its location. It's next door to the New Acropolis Museum, a short walk from the Acropolis entrance and a few minutes walk from all the main tourist areas. The Acropolis tube is easily accessible and the immediate area is quiet and relaxed. The hotel itself is modern, clean and well kept - a touch more elegant […] than your average business hotel but functional rather than luxurious. Staff were unobtrusive, helpful and efficient. We didn't eat a meal there, there's so much choice locally I don't think they make a big thing of their dining options. Lovely Hotel, situated right next to Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis. Great views from the hotel room and the Roof Terrace. The Metro is just 5 minutes around the corner and very handy for getting everyway especially Syntagma Square. The Hotel has 2 jacuzzis one was in operation for this time of year - very enjoyable for unwinding after a day of seeing the sights of which there are plenty! The National Arcahaelogical Museum was just brilliant, it is 10 mins from Ominoia Square .Easy to get there by local Acropoli Metro.The breakfast in the hotel was excellent with plenty to start the day off with, many healthy options available especially loved the Greek yoghurt with honey and dried apricots. Great hotel for family especially interconnecting rooms offering plenty of space for a European hotel. Reception was very helpful and informative - we saved ourselves a small forturne by using the orange coach/bus number 5 getting to Cape Sounion just outside of Athens as advised by Front desk. It only cost 6 euros 30 one way for a very scenic bus ride ( 45 mins ) along the coast up to the Temple of Poseidon. Only criticism is the lack of coffee/teamaking facility but plenty of sockets in the room if you bring your own. Mehr

We had an outside room overlooking the street. Would have hated the interior rooms!. Everything comfortable and lovely breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Have to pay for internet access. Great location near sights, restaurants and metro. Wonderful rooftop terrace view (especially at night) of Acropolis and Museum. Definitely recommended!

We did have a small problem with the room type but that was fixed for us on the 2nd day. This hotel is located in a perfect location if you are visiting Athens for a few days. My wife and I travelled with my 3 year old boy for a 4 day trip to Athens after Christmas in December. We were very fortunate with the weather considering it was end of December. The hotel has a great front desk staff and are very helpful in providing all the details […] on where to go and what to do in Athens. They also gave us info on local events for kids. The rooms were kept clean and well serviced. The hotel's location is right next to the Acropolis with a 5 min walk to the main entrance. All other major areas such as Plaka (good for restaurantes) are within walking distance to the hotel. This came in real handy since we were travelling with a 3 year old. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good. Usually we don't prefer to eat at the hotel's restaurant. However, the restaurant in the lobby served really good food and was well priced. The price for our booking included breakfast which was very well organized and had a lot of choice of fruit, pastries, toast, juices, etc. For our stay we emailed the hotel ahead of time to request a triple room facing the acropolis and they did honour our request. We stayed in room 321. Overall, a great hotel, with great service, and great location. I would definitely give this hotel 4 stars. Mehr

Excellent stay at the Herodian. The hotel is located within walking distance of all the ancient ruins, The Acropolis, Mars Hill, etc. Outside our baloney was the Parthenon...beautiful sight, especially at night. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. Clean, spacious, quiet room. Very enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend!

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Acropolis within 10 minutes, the Plaka Bazaar also within 10 minutes walk, and many restaurants. Just 3 minutes to the New Acropolis Museum and Jewellery Museum as well (in opposite directions). Very friendly and easy going staff that were pleasant and helpful.

I transferred here after several days at the Hilton while switching from work to leisure, and though the Hilton room was larger and fancier, Herodion was absolutely lovely and couldn't have had a better location. There were no non-smoking rooms available. The hot tub was cold and would only be turned on for 15 minutes and only for a small charge. The room with a view was really a room with a view of a school fence. The room was quite small. i did a lot of research on this and other properties. I think in Greece you need to be staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel, because a 5 star hotel in Europe isn't the equivalent of a 5 star hotel in the USA. The hotel was very comfortable, staff very knowledgable and very friendly and the food/breakfast was fine. I have no issues over the hotel whatsoever […] as it certainly did the job, but there was no wow factor or anything that was spectacular (the view of the Acropolis on the roof was the only thing close but the deck itself was just a deck and nothing more than that). So don't expect anything outstanding and spectacular and you will have a very plesant stay indeed because there was nothing to dislike about the place. For someone that just wants a comfortable nights sleep as we don't spend more time in a hotel than we need to, then it was perfect. Mehr

We stayed at the Herodian for 6 nights when participating in the Athens marathon. The staff were incredibly helpful for our whole stay even starting breakfast just after 5am to accommodate our early start on marathon day. Very clean throughout. A really comfortable stay.
