L'Enfant Plaza Hotel - Washington

Das ist aber auch das Beste, was man über dieses Hotel sagen kann. 5 Minuten Fussweg zur National Mall sind natürlich klasse, über den Rest sollte man Schweigen breiten. Die letzte Renovierung war vermutlich 1988, die Haustechnik ist auf diesem Niveau, der Klimaanlage gelang es auch, den das geschlossene Fenster durchdringenden Lärm zu übertönen. Ganz […] schlecht der Internetzugang für immerhin 11 Dollar pro Tag (max. 20k Datenrate...) - zumindest hat die Beschwerde an der Rezeption dazu geführt, dass keine Berechnung erfolgte. Autofahrer sollten gewarnt sein - 42 $ pro Tag fürs Parken ist sportlich, auch in Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass die umliegenden Parkhäuser Tagesraten von 13-17 $ haben... Mehr

Ausstattung und Zustand sowie die sehr zentrale aber dennoch ruhige Lage sorgen für ein gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. War sehr zufrieden.

Günstige Lage zu den Museen der Mall, die fußläufig erreichbar sind. Zum Essen muss man dagegen entweder in die Metro steigen, oder das Auto nehmen. Achtung: hohe Parkgebühren, zu denen noch die Tax hinzu kommt!

Room was a bit old and needs renovation. Very small old TV. Shower was not the best - had low pressure. Towels were old and worn. Location is central to all. Restaurant was quite good including morning breakfast buffet. Valet parking fee was outragous

I enjoyed the stay, but the paying for internet access in addition gives me a feeling of nickel and dime your patrons.

I'm in DC several times a year and I will stay here again. Nice bar & restaurant. Starbucks coffee in the morning.

Very nice hotel in good condition. Try to get a room on the same floor as the pool as it is nice with direct access from the room to the pool area. About 20 min walk to downtown or use the subway which is direct below the hotel.

While our hotel stay was very nice, I was shocked at the amount parking cost us. $95 for 2 days was very expensive and we did not know the cost until we received the bill the morning we were checking out.

Fantastic hotel for seeing the sights in Washington! Very convenient to the mall (halfway down so EVERYTHING was walkable, even with a 4 year old.) The hotel is on top of a metro stop so we had a friend visit us during our stay. She said it was so convenient and so well priced that she would recommend it as well. There is pay parking, which is expensive […] as it is in any big city, but you can leave your car until 3 after you check out, and keep sightseeing! I would stay there again in a minute! Mehr

Clean bed and bathroom, however, the room had a weird odor and there were stains on the carpet that appeared to be blood stains. Yuck!

The hotel needs some updating.

The hotel was perfect as it's close to the Mall and the areas I wanted to visit. I wasn't thrilled with my room (I think the pictures on line are deceiving), but I didn't spend too much time there to be concerned. The main negative I have about the hotel was the food. I only at breakfast there (how could you go wrong with breakfast) and it was AWFUL! […] I recommend you either go somewhere else or just grab a muffin and head out. Mehr

The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful beyond our expectations.

Lobby was pretty and grand but they sure need to update their rooms. Clean but furnitures/tv were dated. Parking was an unknown issue for us. The hotel charges $45 for overnight valet parking. Fortunately we were there weekends, so parked the front street free between 6:30pm - 7am Friday night/Sat morning. My husband had to get up very early to insert […] coins in the meter on Sat. The biggest draw for this hotel is it's location to the National Mall. We stay here everytime we visit DC but it could use some updating in the rooms. It is the best hotel for the value. I would stay here again.

We were unaware about ‘pet friendly’ hotels. Next time I will be looking only for ‘people friendly’ hotels. It is not so nice to be woken up at 4 AM by a barking dog.

First off my room wasnt ready so we left out bags and decided to go get a bite. The staff said they would call yet no one ever called. The room wasnt what i booked on hotels .com either. But at least the location was clise to all the great sites

The hotel was close to the mall... and the amazing fish market at the waters edge.... but the parking garage was a rip off ... Yikes!!!!! Just down the street was a garage that charged one quarter of my bill Hotel was good but the price of over night parking was not.

We enjoyed our stay at L'Enfant Plaza hotel. The only problem we experienced was not having a variety of dinner places to choose from since the hotel is within a government sector, therefore, the food court within the hotel closed at 5 daily. The hotel is located in a convenient area.

Love the convenience of this hotel to all of the Mall sights. The staff and services are EXCELLENT. The hotel is clean, but careworn. Wish the pool was open a little later in the evening.

The location is great. It is good for families as there is inexpensive food choices at lower level. I was surprized that the wireless access was an extra charge and the movie rentals were so expensive. The hotel restraurant food and service was great. They need to close down and do a gut renovation. The curtains were dirty and torn at the seams, outlet plugs were filthy, and the walls near the vents had some serious dirt around them. This isn't a "comfort" opinion, its a serious health issue. I would rather stay 30 minutes out of my way than stay here again. I have about the same review as others for the most part. You could do a lot better for the price. The best thing about this hotel is the location. The rooms are old and dated but our bed was comfortable. The restaurant is extremely overpriced and the food is very average. The front desk staff should to be better trained or replaced, they do not go […] out of their way to provide a high level of service. For example, they did not offer city maps upon check-in, we had to ask. We got to their Foggy Brew Pub 2 minutes before happy hour and they would not honor happy hour prices. We even asked the bartender to wait for 2 minute to ring us up and he refused. They had a ton of older kids staying there with little or no supervision and the hotel was extremely slow to respond to parties in the hallways and pool area. Parking Tip: If you are there on the weekends, park out on the main street, we were told the city doesn’t charge for parking on the weekends. The hotel does not have a parking lot but charge $42 to park cars overnight, they park your car out in front of the hotel. Mehr

Great hotel. Walking distance to most all of the major attracions.

A nice, clean hotel, convenient location, it is above the subway station. But, for God`s sake, they did not offer complimentary wifi internet! If you want it, you have to pay it!!!

Had an outstanding stay at this hotel. My SUV (2012 Explorer) barely had enough clearance to enter the garage. Room was very nice and had a view of the Washington Monument. Very close to the National Mall and no issues with the neighborhood. We walked from the hotel to the monuments late Friday night with no issues. Food is a little pricy but was very […] good. Two blocks from the monuments, subway running through the lower lobby,clean and safe. What else do you need or want. 5/5 rating in my book, highly recommend!

Took kids to DC for first time, so I needed access to all the bells & whistles. This hotel's location was perfect. There are nice food court options for breakfast, the metro stops right under the hotel (which sounds like it would be noisy or cause high foot traffic, but neither was the case), we could walk to the Mall for all the museums, and there […] is even a car service, which came in handy. The rooms are okay. I'm used to 4-5 star hotels. I'd rank this 3-4, but we were just there to sleep, so it didn't matter. Beds where comfortable; bathroom clean. The balcony was a nice touch for assessing weather. Staff was very nice. Overall, it was just what we needed, and I've already recommended it to friends. Mehr

The location was fabulous, however we were not aware that we had to pay 42 dollars to park at the hotel. The restaurant and pub in the lobby did not have much to choose from and the prices were ridiculous. Hotel was built a while back and it shows. Nice "old world charm" flower tapestry in bathroom with what I believe are still original fixtures. No fancy TV or any new modern features in the room. You have to pay for internet.. However, the AC rocks! Almost silent and no harsh wind blowing at you. Room as Clean, Bed Comfortable.. Decor.. a little out of date. but for the price and location it was worth it.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is very close to Smithsonian Museums and rates were reasonable for the prime location. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent. I would stay here again.

Good, clean hotel and good value aqainst higher-priced neighbors. Right on the Metro line and unique shops that I discovered on the way out. Room was okay and only realized later it was a handicapped room and was overly spacious.

The hotel wasn't that great in itself, but it was so conveniently located to all the must see sites that that made up for the inside being outdated. Just beware of the hidden costs!! Valet Parking is outrageously priced!! And you have to pay for Internet, but otherwise a great stay :)

Excellent visit. Delicious brunch with curteous staff.

The hotel had potential...the lobby was really nice. But the room left a lot to be desired. Everything was dated and the air conditioning fan (even on low) kept me up all night with its clanking. Tried turning it off, but then the room was too hot.

Spent a week in Washington DC at this hotel. Took the Acela into Union Station got on the Metro for 4 stops and came up under the hotel. Great location with access to Metro to see Washington sights. Room had a great king bed and bath. Business center is open for 24 hours and I could print out my documents whenever I needed. Walked to all the museums […] from hotel and took the Metro to Capital and other locations on the other side of the Mall. Lots of food places in plaza under the hotel and in hotel as well. Mehr

very convenient location, but run down, slow service, and overpriced compared to hotels in the same area

I was a little concerned booking a hotel at a place I was not familiar with, worried we would be in a not so great location (which has happened to us before) however this was the perfect place. Only a short walk to the museums, over the metro station so you could easily go anywhere in DC and had a great little underground mall under the hotel going […] toward the metro. I was there with my husband and my seven -year-old twins. It was just a long block to get to the museums and the Mall. Very convenient. But since it was a weekend, the food court under the hotel was mostly closed. Without moving the car, we had to eat dinner in the hotel. Great food, not cheap. The metro is underneath the hotel and you do not have to walk. Beware valet $42/night & $40 if you park your own car under garage.
