For the younger crowd not seniors. Rooms clean but sparse

Great non-beach location on Las Olas Blvd. Close to cafes, great boutique shopping and people watching. Good location for Business travel. Nice alternative to typical generic chain hotels or airport locations, this historic 1930's hotel has been well maintained and renovated. This hotel is very conveniently located, but sadly in need of a major facelift. We were in the "Tower" which was supposedly redone, but it had an analog TV (aka fuzzy picture and SLOW) and very few of the nicer amenities we have come to expect when traveling. This was after paying the premium per diem to be upgraded to the "Tower". When we knew we would […] be in Ft. Lauderdale, we called some Florida friends to join us. They booked into the hotel and ended up in the main hotel. It was nothing short of embarrassing! Their room could only be described as shabby. The Riverside Hotel is in walking distance to downtown Ft Lauderdale and next door to shopping, restaurants, art galleries and real estate agencies. A very good choice all in all

Riverside Hotel has an unsurpassed location to enjoy downtown Ft Lauderdale. Its also within walking distance of museums. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and the place had an aura of old world class. The rooms were pleasant, clean, and decent (though in this day and age, more outlets for chargers and PCs would be helpful!). The service was impeccable, the room was comfortable and had a great balcony . Great upgrades for not so much money !! Only annoying thing was parking , you would think they would have free parking but it was over 20 dollars ! Probably because it was such a hot spot , it was worth the money though.

Liked everything about this hotel, very nice location, take the trolley to beach, clubs nearby, great eateries and relaxing. Staff was very friendly and professional. Boston Traveler

This hotel is excellent, the location is great, the room comfortable and the staff first class. Unfortunately the air conditioning in our room was awful. Reporting it was met with - do you want to change rooms - after a 28 hour journey and having unpacked, we didn't. Several attempts to resolve the problem were unsuccessful, a pity!

The Riverside Hotel is located on Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale and right in the heart of the best dining in town. There are so many options within walking distance. The hotel is an older hotel, but has all the charm of an old world hotel where they remember your name when you check in and the staff greets you by name. Really a unique experience from most […] hotels. The hotel rooms might be a little dated, but this could also be considered part of the charm. The only negative that I find with the hotel is the room air conditioners can be a little noisy and if you are a light sleeper, like I am, bring ear plugs. I have stayed here several times and always look to see if there are rooms available at this hotel first when traveling to south Florida. Mehr

Judging by the photos of the hotel on line, we thought we chose a decent hotel. However, our stay was so much more than just 'decent.' Every staff member we encountered was very pleasant, very helpful and always eager to please. The restaurant, Indigo, has not only amazing food - we ate there 3 nights in a row - but the staff is equally just over the […] top! Everyone knew us by name - and always greeted up with a smile, even the entertainer they had over the weekend would look and say, "how are my Dallas girls today?" There are so many who made us feel like family. Hugs were given all around when it was time for us to depart. Additionally, we have several friends who live in FTL, they all commented what a great reputation the hotel had, how beautiful it was, and they, too experienced the amazing staff. Overall we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! We will DEFINITELY be back and will recommend to ALL we know headed to the area! We certainly enjoyed our stay there...no problems...very helpful and kind staff.

For the Price it is the best place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel important .....Great Atmosphere

I've been travelling to South Florida for work for 7 years, and the Riverside Hotel is definitely one of my favorite places to stay. The hotel is located on historic Las Olas Blvd. and there is a multitude of wonderful restaurants and bars within walking distance. If you're in town for business, I definitely recommend!

The Riverside Hotel was the nicest hotel that my family has ever stayed in. It was beautiful and had a georgous view of the city and ocean. The room was very nice and clean. The staff were very helpful. We stayed in the new section of the hotel. I would recommend The Riverside Hotel to everyone.

My family and I stayed at the Riverside Hotel from a recommendation. Nothing disappointing. Room was great, location was perfect for our needs and staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Would stay there again without reservation.

If you want to be close to great shopping, excellent pubs and overall historic feel of Ft. Lauderdale, this is the place to be. From the warm friendly welcome as you enter, the hotel makes you feel at home with modern facilities, top notch food and great overall service. For vacationers or the business minded, this is the place to be.

Only complaint that I have is...I could not pick up the wireless signal in my room. Otherwise awesome hotel & fantastic staff!

This hotel was awesome from the vallet parking to all the treats i got at the front desk with my package(spa discounts etc) other than the tub i thought was a bit small this hotel was TOP of its class!!

This is our second stay at the Riverside, and like last time it did not disappoint. The only downside was that the internet was down and I couldn't work ... but its ok I guess because I was on vacation! Regardless, we will be back in November.

We stayed for three nights at the Riverside Hotel. It was great. The Las Olas Boulevard is a great place to just walk up and down and enjoy the time. The pool was clean and quiet. If you are not too crazy about the beach this should be your choice for Fort Lauderdale. And if you still need the ebach. its just a 5-10 minutes ride away.

I stay at the Riverside every time I go to Fort Lauderdale (about 4 -5) times a year. It's always superior. You can want for nothing when you stay.

Something was going on at the desk which seemeed to occupy the entire staff for about 10 moinutes when I checked in, but finally check-in was quick when someone became available. A few minutes later I found the room was not what I requested; went back to the desk and had a surreal experince while a desk clerk tried to find me what I wanted (turned out […] they didn't have any Kings availble). Overall, (I was in the "Tower") the room was nicely appointed and if you spend your entire time in downtown Ft Lauderdale, the location can't be beat. I do wish ALL hotels would stiop using that chemical or wax or whatever on the bathroom floors that simply pick up dirt off the bottom of one's shoes and just smudge the floor. Hotel is great, staff is friendly and the location is good. The pool is very nice and hotel is clean. I would highly recomend staying here

This hotel is good, very helpful staff and a nice pool and location. Only downside was the A/C that didn't work properly.

We went there to celebrate our 25th Wedding Aniv., we were upgraded to the Tower's with an excellent view of the river and city on the 9th floor. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large and clean, the room was very large with a table & chairs and desk. Walking distance to ton's of restaurants and attractions. Pool was very clean and we ordered […] lunch at the pool, which was not pricey, and ate dinner in the hotel pool Indigo, which was elegant and not overpriced for the portions and service they gave you. I found the location and room condition very good. Las olas boulevard is one of the most beautiful streets in the USA

From the moment we arrived, we were treated to exceptional service by an extremely responsive and helpful staff. We stayed in the Tower in a spacious, comfortable room with a private balcony, overlooking the river. For three days, we felt elegant and pampered. In the evenings, we were entertained by live piano music while having cocktails in the lobby […] bar -- or just outside on the patio. The concierge was most helpful - with restaurant suggestions and reservations -- and even provided us with drink coupons at the restaurant we selected. The location can't be beat - right on Las Olas Bouleard, among the shops and restaurants -- and right across from a fabulous gelato store! It's only 15 minutes from the airport. The only drawback was the buffet breakfast, which, while inexpensive offered only oatmeal, scrambled eggs and bacon, although the fresh-squeezed orange juice was deliciouis. I would stay there again in a heartbeat -- and am looking forward to doing so!!! Mehr

The Riverside Hotel was everything it advertised-- in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, one block from Los Olas, on the river, it is completely modernized with the ambience of a European hotel. Great hotel, great location, great service. Three small problems need to be fixed, however. First, there were no dinner room service menus in the room. They said that they were making new ones (and had no problem sending one up) but it was strange. Second, the rooms could use bathrobes. We had some difficulties with the room when we checked into the Riverside. My husband and I booked on hotels.com and then I called the property to ensure our wheelchair access room. I was assured that this would be available. When we arrived the room was not available. We had to spend the first night in a tiny room on first floor. The light coming in […] from the window and noise of old-fashioned air conditioning made for a sleepless night. We were given a 50% off dinner coupon for the mix up. The food was fabulous and the service even better. I can not say enough about Denise the hostess and the wonderful Chilean bass. We had breakfast both mornings and had the same experience. The valet people were professional and very thoughtful. The staff at the checkin tried in every way to make up for the mix up. There was one problem with trying to get towels at the pool but all in all it was a wonderful time and the location could not have been better. Mehr

The hotel was just beautiful! We only stayed over for one night, but the service was wonderful, the rooms were beautiful, and we loved the view!
